It has beach-side restaurants, spas and water-sports operators everywhere so you don’t have to walk far to get anything.

Honestly, Cenang Beach wasn’t in our initial itinerary but I’m glad we visited the place.

The beach is clean and the sand is soft and smooth.

Anyway, a visit to a beach isn’t complete when you just play at the seaside, build sand castles and stare across the deep blue sea.

There are more excitement offered there. For example, parasailing!

Here, I did parasailing for the first time and one word to describe the experience is – Amazing! The price is not amazing though – it costs RM60 per person!

Before getting pulled up to the sky, I was kinda nervous. You know, being up in the air and the only thing that keeps you going is the speed boat.

But once I’m up, the feeling was just great!

The aerial view of the vicinity was simply fascinating and breathtaking! Unfortunately I didn’t bring along my camera, so no photos to describe how awesome it was.

Almost everyone in my group went for parasailing and although it’s kinda pricey, we enjoyed the ride. Perhaps we should have bargained in the beginning. Oh well…

Besides that, the banana boat is another fun activity at the beach. It costs RM15 per person.

Considered cheap but I don’t really like getting wet. But my friends, on the other hand, like getting wet.

Other than that, jet ski rides are available but none of use took that because it’s really costly.

Apparently, Pantai Cenang is a place for the volleyball lovers, but on the day I was there – I don’t see any.

To kill time, some went for a stroll along the beach, some played Frisbee and I took photos.

Oh yeah, if you’re expecting pictures of sexy girls in bikinis – I’m sorry, I didn’t spot any bikini girls there.

Wait a minute, I think some of you guys are pretty disappointed with not being able to see any bikini girls here huh?

Satisfied now? Okay, back to the topic.

There’s a very special atmosphere here at sunset. People playing in the seaside and strolling everywhere, especially the lovers.

Even though it’s almost dark, some parasailing operators are still doing business. Bet the aerial view is much more amazing because it’s sunset!

And as the sun disappears from the view, you can marvel at the sunset with beautiful red and orange coloured clouds.

Beautiful right? You can get this at Pantai Cenang!

Anyway, do you know how much the operator charged us for 9 parasailing and 6 banana boat rides?

A whopping RM630! So imagine how much they earn every single day, considering there are lots of visitors each day.

I can’t guess the exact amount but I’m certainly sure they make big bucks!

Maybe I will consider moving to Langkawi and start a water-sports business at some beach as well. And if I do…

Frankly, condominiums and bungalows can be really costly and not every guy can afford that. But an apartment is quite affordable.

Anyway, the point it – it’s an attractive feature when a guy loves to go on eating sessions. Food do bring people together, so feed her well.

4) Adventurous.

So do I love Langkawi? Well, to be honest – not really.

Anyway, if you’ve been following me on Twitter, you would definitely know I was there just recently. Thanks to my friends for organizing it. I kinda tagged along.

And it was my first time on an AirAsia flight! The experience – what you pay is what you get lah.

Upon reaching Langkawi International Airport, you’ll be greeted with lots of car rental counters. The advice I got is not to accept the first few offers – you gotta keep bargaining and skip counters.

Then, visitors will be given a stack of brochures and maps, for free.

Anyway, one of the guys got this 11-seater van at RM250 for 3 days. With 10 of us on board, every one pays RM25 – that’s not including petrol though.

One of the places we visited is the Oriental Village. It’s the home to the Langkawi Cable Car, probably the best attraction in Langkawi and I told myself I must go there!

You’ll need to walk through the “village” in order to get to the cable car station.

To be honest, there’s nothing so “oriental” about Oriental Village. More of a tiny town with modern buildings.

Unfortunately on that day, the cable car station was closed due to maintenance. It definitely sucks not to be able to experience that!

Never mind, I’ll visit again one day.

Next stop is the Langkawi Crocodile Farm. Based on the Langkawi websites, the must-see during a visit is the crocodile feeding session.

It’s RM10 per entry and fortunately enough, it was feeding time when we just got there.

And this is how the feeder feeds the huge crocodiles…

Thoughts ran through our minds wondering whether the hungry crocodiles will eat that dude if he doesn’t give them enough food.

But once the food is finished, the guy blew his whistle and the crocodiles moved away from the guy. It’s like they understood “No more food!”.

Amazing huh? But it’s surely because the crocodiles were brought up with such a method.

Other than that, the Crocodile Farm didn’t generate much interest from us. Walked around and left to another destination.

We headed to Pantai Cenang area. It doesn’t have many sightseeing attractions but the Langkawi Underwater World is located there.

It’s where most of the cheaper hotels and motels are located.

And every accommodation claiming themselves as the best.

Really best or not, I don’t know because we stayed at Berjaya Langkawi Resort, which is located at the very west of the island.

The Cenang beach, or also known as Pantai Cenang, is worth visiting. There are lots of beach-side restaurants and water-sports operators everywhere.

Over there, parasialing is one the activities available and it was my first time experiencing it! It was super awesome when you get to see stunning aerial view!

Too bad I didn’t bring my camera along when I was up in the sky.

Anyway, another well-known destination is Kuah town. Kuah is more of a commercial center and shopping zone where you can get alcoholic drinks and chocolates with duty tax free.

A can of Carlsberg beer is just RM1.60 when it’s about RM6.00 at stores near you.

And various choices of alcoholic liquors at cheaper prices – cheaper than the price at KLIA I think.

If you’re not a fan of alcoholic beverages, you can always opt for chocolates.

And since it’s usually hot in Langkawi, it’s better to keep your chocs cool or else it will melt.

The most famous landmark at Kuah is undoubtedly the eagle statue at the Eagle Square, or locally known as Dataran Helang.

Nothing much to do there – just look at boats, admire the sea surrounding the statue and take photos.

Stare and be amazed by the huge eagle statue, which is a symbol of Langkawi.

And it makes you wanna fly…

Since the prize is so lucrative, I decided to give it a shot. A video would be so much interactive but since I suck at it, I submitted a photo instead.

So I drafted my idea and started working on it.

Anyway, I prefer to meet Lampard but I picked Messi instead because I’ve never been to Barcelona – so I wanna take this chance to get to Barcelona for the first time!

I don’t own a tripod so I used text books as my customized “tripod”. Not really stable – explains why each image wasn’t at the exact same frame. =/

I started off with this pose. Munching on some potato chips. I used it as my base photo where the other cropped photos are combined with it.

For this pose, I wanted to photoshop a Vuvuzela with it. But realized that the arm’s position wasn’t right after the photo-shoot, and I was lazy to retake the pose.

So I left it like that, the organizers must be wondering what’s the dude in black doing.

For every pose, I gotta change my shirt (and shorts if the pose reveals the legs) and quickly get into position.

I practically went around the sofa for each pose – some quite exaggerating, some pretty plain.

And after hours of cropping, editing, adjusting and cleaning up, the end product is out.

Yeah I know very common, but I thought it would be one of the best submissions in the Photo category. Honestly, I believe it has a little more effort and creativity compared to the other photos.

Anyway, it got me thinking – what Internet addicts (not me alright) would do if their home’s beloved Internet is not working? Certainly sounds interesting.

So if you’re a hardcore Internet user, here are probably the actions you take when the Internet is down!

1) Once the Internet is down, you’ll stare at the screen for a while.

Look at the router, look back at the screen again. Hit F5 (refresh in case you don’t know) repeatedly and start cursing the Internet Service Provider (ISP).

2) Try knocking on the router in case it will working again.

But obviously it doesn’t.

3) Next step, call the customer service support.

Line busy, or simply no answer. Typical Malaysia customer service.

4) Continue calling and finally the call manage to go through.

You demand for explanations. But when explanations are given, you don’t accept them.

You know you deserve better service since you’re paying for it.

5) After that, you start ranting and complaining about the ISP.

Thinking of changing Internet provider because the current one sucks!

6) Try to steal neighbours’ wifi connection.

But unfortunately it’s all password-protected and you don’t know how to discover the password.

7) Access the 3G Internet with you dumbphone (opposite of smartphone) and surf happily!

But quickly stopped…

…after you realize that the charges are bloody expensive.

8) Head to the Cyber Cafe and don’t mind spending since it’s much cheaper than the dumbphone charges.

But the Internet connection speed is crawling like snail because everyone there is using up the bandwidth playing DOTA and other Internet-connected games.

9) Resort to your friend’s place because you know the Internet speed there is awesome.

But your friend kicks you out because you’re fully occupying the computer as though it’s yours.

10) Finally, bring your laptop to a coffee shop or a place where free wifi connection is available.

Yes Starbuks! With coffee, cozy environment and free Internet – it’s heaven right?

Blogging is suppose to be a intelligent tool – but as we come across blogs, there are these a few issues that certain bloggers do that is kinda.. erm.. sucky? As a result, the meaning of “blogging” has diverted a little.

Anyway, here is a list on how to suck at blogging. You may try it too if you’re interested.

1) Terrible blog layout.

First example, auto-play music. Annoying!

To be honest, you don’t have to share your super favourite songs on your blog. You may love it, but others might not.

Some blog visitors have their own playlist playing on iTunes.

But when they visit your blog…

Bieber, Bieber, Bieber? NoooooooooooooO!!!

The worst part is opening 10 blogs and ALL 10 blogs have their own music. Total madness!

Another bad blog layout is having a glittery background. We don’t need extra glares on our screen.

The last one would be too many unnecessary widgets that make the blog’s loading time super slow!

2) Horrible font.

It’s either your font is too tiny, too BIG or you’re TyPIng lIke tHIs eVeRYtiMe You wRiTE a bLoG.

3) Blog entries with 1 or 2 sentences only.

Hey, do that on Twitter instead!

4) Blog about number of followers too frequently.

Good job when you have lots of Google Friend Connect followers or you’ve reached a milestone of followers.

Frankly, if we’re interested, we’ll check it out by ourselves. After all, the widget is always there on your blog right?

5) Blog about blog traffic too frequently.

Blogging about your achievement in the traffic department once in a while is acceptable. It’s alright to talk about it but when you’re doing it too frequently, that’s when you might annoy others.

People rather read about road traffic than your blog traffic.

6) Blog about keywords from search engines.

This is super unnecessary I think. It’s so common to get visitors from search engines because you’re creating content on the Internet.

But what amuses me is that they find the “unexpected” keywords absurd and get excited about those “unexpected” keywords.

Then, be completely surprised that their blog is getting such “unexpected” keywords.

The fact is, what you blog = what you get from search engines.

7) Blog about your earnings too frequently.

Writing an entry for a cheque you received from blogging is totally fine. But when you write several entries of every single Buffered Earning from Nuffnang, that’s not fine.

I know you’re calling me showoff now even though this is my first time showing my Nuffnang Buffered Earnings. =/

Anyway, sharing is caring. But too much sharing is boring.

8) Extremely money-driven.

Very straight forward – you start a blog with one main goal – earn money! You sign up with every single online advertiser, add gazillion ads on your blog and offer spaces for advertisements immediately.

An advice? Work on your content first.

9) Plagiarism, also known as blindly copy and paste.

You copy and paste other articles without any amendments, modifications or inclusion of your own thoughts and point of view.

Seriously, that’s a copy cat.

Are you trying to build a new Wikipedia?

10) Unnecessary repeating picture of yourself.

A picture or two is fine, but when you upload many almost-the-same photos unnecessarily – don’t you feel awkward? I’ll feel weird if I do that.

So, besides the boring Japanese Village, two other not-so-attractive attractions in Berjaya Hills, Bukit Tinggi are the Horse Trails and the Rabbit Park.

Let’s start with the Horse Trails.

Obviously, it’s place where horses are kept. The entrance fee is RM2 per person.

You get to see horses.

Horse riding activity is available, but with a fee. It can be as cheap as RM25 for a 10 minutes ride, and up to RM650 for a picnic ride during peak-hours.

Pricey huh?

So if can’t afford that or you think it’s not worth the money, you can spend time with the horses.

And tie braids on their mane. Still boring.

Next, the Rabbit Park.

Obviously, again, it’s where the rabbits are kept. Entrance fee is RM3 per person.

After paying the entrance fee, you’ll be greeted by a huge wall with drawings of cute happy rabbits.

Make you look forward to seeing those cute happy rabbits right?

So you head over to the open rabbit area.

But you see…

Non-smiling rabbits.

Rabbits know no racism. Can human be like that as well?

Couple rabbits.

While the rest are free to roam, this unfortunate rabbit is caged.

Lonely rabbit.

Touch also it doesn’t move. It feels fluffy!

Conclusion – the rabbits are lazy bunnies. They won’t move, unless they get chased by little kids.

Basically it’s totally a place for kids to see and chase cute rabbits. I, as a grown boy, don’t feel excited at all.

It would have been great if these bunnies are around…

So the place was really boring. While waiting for the shuttle bus, I had to entertain myself with a mini playground within the Rabbit Park.

As we are well-aware of, the Go Green/Save the Plastic, Save the World/Recycling campaign is everywhere! But unfortunately, some prefer to ignore it, still demanding for plastic bags.

Yes, I agree that plastic is NOT the main problem – it’s the waste management that we should look into.

But since many don’t manage the excessive usage of plastic bags well, authorities have implemented the “Use Less Plastic Bags” campaign.

Frankly, if everyone is considerate enough, waste management can be done properly and there will be fewer pollution cases on Earth.

Now, my dad owns a mini market and I sometimes help at the cashier counter. As I’m well-aware of this predicament, I try my best to refuse giving plastic bags when it’s unnecessary.

But being in a place where there are many unaware elderly and ignorant adults, here are some amusing/lame/wicked excuses when requesting for plastic bags.

Now this one happened recently. It’s a conversation with a man in his 40s. I already gave a thick plastic bag for ONE heavy item, but he asked for more…

But he was displeased, saying I make so much noise. Eh, who’s the noisy sissy who complain that a 2kg Milo tin is heavy and need to walk far?

And as he walked out, he said.

I was pretty pissed with his mentality but I kept my cool, and kept quiet.

Anyway, why want so many plastic?

It’s not like they’re gonna build a plastic pyramid with it.

True absurd plastic stories. Believe it or not!

To visit these two places, visitors have to pay RM12 per person – which is quite expensive I believe.

But if you have a room reservation at the Colmar Tropicale resort, it’ll be refunded when you check out.

Anyway, once at the Japanese Village, you’ll be greeted by a Japanese Souvenir Shop. Nothing much inside, really.

Okay, let’s start with the Botanical Garden.

Two words to describe the place – nothing much.

First building seen is Ryo Zan Tei, a Japanese restaurant. I didn’t enter because I wasn’t hungry and I bet it’ll be damn expensive.

Some plants.

Then a viewing platform further inside – I was expecting an awesome view. You know, since it’s like 3,500 feet above sea level!

But to my dismay…

More green plants.

After walking around for a bit, it’s time for the Japanese Garden. I hoped that there are better things to see over there. Since it’s “Japanese”.

Alright, at the Japanese Garden, there are winding footpaths.

And more footpaths with more stairs.

A little further in, you’ll be greeted by a Japanese man.

His name is Ken Watanabe! Yōkoso!

As you walk inside, you’ll step over a bridge spanning a pond with koi fishes.

And finally up to a Japanese Tea House. The only activity here is to experience Japanese tea ceremony. But visitors are required to rent (about RM20 to RM25) and wear yukata in order to participate.

But don’t be shocked if you see some real Japanese culture!

Anyway, surrounded by a thick tropical rain forest, the Japanese Village places much emphasis on serenity and tranquility.

The garden was designed with renowned Japanese architecture built by a team of skilled craftsmen from Japan.

Located further in the Japanese Garden is the Tatami Spa.

Seems like a good place to get some rest and relaxation, but unfortunately it wasn’t open when I was there. Too classy, too expensive, therefore no business?

So that’s basically everything about Bukit Tinggi’s Japanese Village. To be honest, I expected more interesting Japanese cultures.

I suggest something like these…

Accompaniment of Japanese Geishas? Definitely Japanese culture to me.

Some wacky Japanese game shows for better entertainment?

Kamen Rider? I loved watching it when I was younger.

Or some famous Japanese monsters such as Domo-Kun and err… Blue-Kun?

Pokemon Bulbasaur at the Botanical Garden?

Or…

Sexy Japanese anime girls to accompany visitors at the Tatami Spa? Bet it’ll have business whole day!

Anyway, my verdict on these 2 places? Honestly, boring!

But you wonder – whether it’s really for a charity or not.

The common way of getting money without effort is begging – we see it almost everywhere. All they do is occupy the streets and hand out a bucket for passersby to throw in some change.

Another common way of getting money, with effort this time, is busking – or also known as street musicians. There are many in major European countries.

They entertain you with music and if passersby like it, they throw in some cash.

But here in Malaysia, when one claims to be working with a charity, it’s normal to wonder whether it’s legitimate or not. Because scams and fraud cases are happening everywhere.

These days, even monks approach people stating that they’re collecting donations for their temple fund. Yeah, some are real – but at the same time, some are in monk disguise to cheat victims.

With so many charities nowadays, some well-dressed person can be requesting for donations as well.

Just like this dude. But will you trust him that he’s telling the truth?

Maybe not.

Therefore you usually show him the “talk to the hand” sign.

Or Malaysian meaning – Boleh Blah!

Anyway, I think anyone can be a “charity beggar” these days. It’s so simple – dress well, get photos and certifications of charity, approach people and talk cock!

A good view of the Colmar Square can be seen from the viewing tower.

From the top, you’ll probably have the best view of the whole Colmar Square. Quite beautiful.

There are daily performances that take place at the Colmar Square, both during the day and night.

Anyway, to get to other Bukit Tinggi attractions, you’ll need to drive or simply take the shuttle bus for free.

But… this is a lorry. Right?

Wait till you see the side view of it.

Yeah, it’s an open-air shuttle ride. A “shuttle lorry” should be more appropriate right?

With the shuttle lorry bus, you can get to other places such as the Japanese Village, the Botanical Garden, the Rabbit Park and the Horse Trails.

With the day view of Colmar Tropicale offering quite a beautiful scenery, the night view isn’t as attractive.

From the top of the viewing tower, here’s the night view of the Colmar Square from the same spot.

Looks a little dull to me – maybe because there wasn’t any special festival happening when I was around.

Anyway, there are a few restaurants serving French and international specialties, such as La Cigogne, Le Blason, La Flamme, La Boulangerie, Le Poulet Tori, L’Orient and Le Vin.

Had dinner at La Flamme.

The food was acceptable and nice, but the main courses cost RM22 each and the basket of French fries is RM5.

For breakfast, some pastries from La Boulangerie – a French Bakery.

The selection of pastries is quite limited, with a minimum of RM5 per piece.

Anyway, there isn’t much to be done here at Colmar Tropicale besides taking photos and enjoying the scenery.

Unless you’re interested in kiddies rides…

But I was thinking, shouldn’t a French-themed place should have a erm… sex shop like this…?

I saw that when I was in Paris, France!

But Bukit Tinggi won’t be a family-friendly attraction if adult shops are available right? So instead, more kiddo-game stations were set up.

Game stations give kids an opportunity to win some toys, soft toys in particular.

This game station has huge bears and seahorses, all waiting to be won.

To be honest, all these kiddo stuff are kinda boring to me – but this soft toy attracted me. I wanted it so much.

Yes, it’s this pinkish seahorse that somehow look like a unicorn.

At one glance, I bet the guys will stare at a certain body part. Definitely not the face – but obviously the boobs, or cleavage if you prefer.

The other parts get blurred off from the view, focusing on the “happy valley”. Something like this…

So I’m curious. Why upload photos which expose the boobs? Is it intentional, or just love-the-photo-so-much so must upload?

Either way, I find it pretty amusing when such pictures are uploaded onto Facebook or blogs.

Here’s an example scenario on Facebook when a “cleavage show” photo is uploaded, with guest appearance – Scarlett Johansson!

Scarlett uploads a sexy photo as her Facebook profile picture. After a while, some dude commented on it and here’s how the conversation usually go…

Ken: Wahhh… Nice sexy pic! Kawaii! ^^ *like*
Scarlett: Thx u! But no lah.. the pic not nice I think.. just okay2 oni ^^

Usually Ken will see the face first. Just to check whether he knows the girl or not.

Anyway, if Scarlett thinks the photo isn’t nice, why upload in the first place – and say it’s not nice? Indirectly to get more compliments right?

Ken: Nice leh.. Super chio sexy also!!
Scarlett: You make me so happy! ^^ Thx u! Why say I sexy leh?

Then, Ken’s attention changes to the boobs! Everything else is totally blurred! Take note that boob-staring might go on for quite some moment.

But after 10 minutes ogling at the boobs, Ken says otherwise…

Yeah right, Scarlett somehow got super excited that Ken said she’s beautiful. But it’s not the face that is beautiful.

Anyway, before I announce the most interesting and creative birthday celebration plan, I would like to take this time to express my appreciation to those who’ve participated. Actually, I expected more participants I’m glad 10 people joined.

Most plan consists of feeding me with food – Wai Shang said I should eat more because I look thin. But actually I’m quite fat you know.

Thank you very much but why I don’t get cool presents like iPhone 3GS, Play Station 3, Xbox 260, or even Starcraft 2? It would have been super awesome right?

But never mind lah.
