Phil and Laura get married

It started raining on the Thursday, and the weather did not look like it was going to clear for Phil and Laura’s wedding. Sabbath afternoon rolled around and the showers were still going. The benefit of all this rain was an unexpected waterfall in Lane Cove National Park.

The day was just stunning for the beautiful couple. Here are a few samples from the wonderful day in Sydney.

Matthew Gamble – the Vagabond Servant

Ok, so it is day 2 back in the office after being away. I thought I’d would post some more images of our time away. Big Camp is probably the biggest event in our church calendar, and this year was no different. For the third year we had the privilege of learning from the Vagabond Servant himself, Matthew Gamble. Matthew’s background I have taken directly from his website.

Matthew Gamble was born and raised Catholic, but became an atheist at the age of 14. Having become fascinated by the Rastafarian religion Matthew found himself, at the age of 19, on the island of Jamaica. He soon began smuggling marijuana into Miami, Florida. Shortly after, God lead him to a Christian pastor, who, after hearing his story, handed him a Bible. Matthew began exploring the teachings of Jesus and his life began to be transformed from the inside out.

Matthew is, in my opinion, one of the most influential speakers of this generation. With his diverse background and with no holes bared when speaking, he manages to both confront and convict people, simultaneously.

So last week I had the privilege of listening to Matthew speak, and also spend some time with him in discussion on a shoot. So, since my blog is about photography, here are some of the photos. If you want to learn more about Matthew you can visit his site matthewgamble.com

Back from big camp 09, and it was awesome, to say the least. Matthew Gamble was a speaker again this year, and as usual he was on fire. But this post is not about that, rather it is about 2 boys and 1 crazy car. Now, I am not really a car person, it just does not have the right equipment for me. This car is, well, really really loud. For those who are into cars I can tell you this much, its a Nissan. Variety? No idea. So for information about the car I resorted to the owner and driver, Leighton Smith. To quote him -

Jason and Stephanie get engaged

It’s an old fashion romance story, boy meets girl, boy likes girl and boy marries girl. In the present case it goes something like this.

Jason and Stephanie -

- They met at a church function.

- Jason flew up for the holidays just a few weeks after meeting.

- Jason asked Stephanie’s Dad if he could ask her out. He said, ‘Yes’.

- Jason asked Stephanie’s Dad if he could marry her. He said, ‘Yes’.

- Jason asked Stephanie to marry him. She said, ‘Yes’.

- This year they get married.

Here are a few images from the pre wedding session with Jason and Stephanie. This couple is just gorgeous, with smiles from ear to ear. It’s always a pleasure to be with people who are so ‘into’ each other. God bless in your preparations, Jason and Stephanie.

Phil and Laura’s Sydney wedding – Sneak Peek

It has been a very long day, as the time is now 2 am and we started the wedding some 17 hours ago. So really bed should be calling, but I just had to share this image with everyone. Such an amazing day, so close to raining nearly all day but thankfully the weather held. Lane Cove National Park was just beautiful with waterfalls where we have never seen them before. Grant and Sonia – Sunrise in Sydney

There are many ways of couples getting together,’ throwing up’ on a strangers balcony is not often one of those ways. Grant and Sonia’s introduction of someone vomiting off your balcony has lead to this lasting relationship! Six years ago while at university Sonia was with some friends at a party. One thing lead to another and Sonia found the most convient location, which just happened to be over Grants balcony. As far as introductions go, this is definitely one of the most memorable ones.

At this time of the year sunrise starts just after 5 am so we all arrived at Curl Curl beach at this early hour. After a quick walk to the waters edge we had a small wait before the sun presented itself over the horizon. It is remarkable just how much this time of morning has warmed up since the last journey here!
