Well here are 139 reasons which tell you that you are a pakka Bumbaiya, few of my favorites listed below.

• You speak in a dialect of Hindi called ‘Bambaiya Hindi’, which only Bombayites can understand.
• Train timings (9.27, 10.49 etc) are really important events of life.
• You have the following sets of friend: school friends, college friends, neighborhood friends, office friends and yes, train friends, a species unique only in Bombay.
• The most frequently used part of your car is the horn.
• Your idea of personal space is no one actually standing on your toes.
• "Change" is "Chillar", "Ditching" is a "Kalti" and "Trouble" is "Jhol". (Maybe Vaat Lagli too )
• Every cab and rickshaw driver makes small talk with you. (Haven’t you heard, kya saab/mehensaab kitna traffic hai dekho )
• You are back to work next day after the city is bombed – Truly the spirit of Bombay.
• You call the cabbies and waiters BOSS
• When there’s no place to breathe in the trains but there’s place to play cards and sing bhajans!
• You keep spare candles in the kitchen just in case there’s a power surge.

Cheers to the spirit of Bombay. I miss Bombay a lot and want to be back, but hey there is a much more bigger reason I want to back in India and will go where she is, yes you guessed it right the love of my life . Cheers Keith.

With the introduction of Lists to the the public, Twitter has added a new Ego buster to the Internet. It would now be funny to see how many people are upset because they are not on someone’s list. LOL.

Here is a funny conversation from my wild wild imagination about the new twitter lists feature .

BFF 1: Hey, how are you buddy, you remember that we have to catch up today right?

BFF 2: Yea, I know, I know. By the way, I saw you created a few twitter lists, why am I missing from your BFF list?

BFF 1: Oh dude, I just created it for fun man, it did not mean anything.

BFF 2: Oh is it, then why am I missing from the list?

BFF 1: Well, dude your tweet a lot of stupid links man, I don’t want people to follow those spam links.

BFF 2: You loser, go to hell. I am unfollowing you on twitter and dude you can cancel our meetup for tonight.

ROFL all the way to your twitter list .

As usual, I landed into office at 11:30 (don’t ask, I do that everyday). Everything was as usual, checked on a few emails, logged on to twitter to see everyone wishing me and likewise with Facebook. I also chatted with colleagues in India with regards to some work I had assigned them and got to work.

Now somewhere around 12:30PM or so, we heard water dripping down the windows, it was happening where the AC was, so we assumed that the old beaten AC was dripping. Then it started, water was flowing into our office from all the Windows, we thought that the stupid maintenance guys were letting of water from the terrace, we closed all the windows, but still water came in through the closed windows, just imagine the force.

I went out and what did I see? The elevators were flooded with water, water everywhere. I ran out and was near the door, when I saw that people from our building were rushing out opening their umbrellas, I just thought that it was raining very heavily and yes in front of our building it was raining like a torrential rain.

However, when I saw across the road, there was no rain. That is when I realized that one of the pipes in our building had burst.

Wohoo, Happy Birthday. Well, our office was pretty badly affected as we were on the top, the ceilings started leaking and more. However, we were able to pack everything and move important things to dry places. Thank god the area near our dev servers did not get wet, or else kaboom.

The fire department guys came in and told us to switch off all the electricity. Now no going to office till Monday, but man climbing up and down 7 floors in the fire evacuation stairs definitely had its toll on me. I may just get cozy and sleep for sometime, Birthday dreams here I come.

On a sad note, water is really devastating and my heart goes out to those who were affected by floods in Andhra and Karnataka, this small experience has shown me how devastating water can be, it can ruin anything and everything in a matter of few minutes.

This is definitely a birthday, I will not forget in a long long time. Phew.

Yet days have passed, so have months and years, and over all of them I have found a pinnacle of support, my driving force, my girlfriend, who if you would have known me and seen me back then would not have been a reality, but she is someone I truly love and do it from the bottom of my heart and whom I truly adore for everything, albeit in a way that only I know, she is my driving force in everything I do.

The achievement have just grown over time, I came up from being a no-one when I was 18 years old to someone who many know now, and many who knew when I was 18 would never have envisioned me to turn up as, and yet I don’t want to be famous.

I have tantrums, I have issues, I have achievements, I have success, I have many of the things that many would not dream at my age, but that is the pace of life.

Life gives you two options, either you choose how others want you to pace yourself, or you choose how you want to pace yourself (that is one of the reasons I never attended college, and I don’t ask you to do the same), however if you choose to do things yourself make sure you know what you want to do before doing it, life can take you for a ride and then drop you down at a place you never want to be, it is how you rise from there and take steps towards taking a ride back with life again towards where you wanted to go is all that matters.

Today I have done things I could not have imagined few years ago, and for that matter all my life, I never dreamt of being able to do what I am able to do today, I just rode life, fell down, picked myself back up again and rode life again, bumped again, got up again and rode life again.

It has been up and down, but that does not mean that I will leave a bumpy ride just because I wanted a easier way out, I am a tough bastard, but yes I am not successful yet, I have lots of bumpy rides to ride, and I know I will fall down whenever I get near, but that will help me ride the tides and get to where I want to.

I am turning 27 and looking back at life, I am really glad I am, because back in the years I did not even think about turning 27, heck I did not even want to grow older than 18, but that is life, it does not stop on you, it grows, and unless you have the urge to grow with it you will never catch up with it, catch up with your life and live it right now.

I am on a second life right now after 18, after 23 and now soon to be 27, I love you Jammu, whatever I did not do for you, I will do it all over again, I am going to ride life back again and come back with something that will be the best, love you so much.

Looking forward to being 27 again and again .

Many of us have our own favorites and agreed it is the best and it beats everything out there, but that is only according to you and for your own IMHO, why start out a fight because someone else likes something else.

Well seriously the differences between people’s choices are making them more of a fanatic and less of a fan, being so obsessed that we can’t even take a little bit of backlash with a pinch of salt.

So when a Apple fanboy whips out his Mac book and types in a single sentence saying Windows 7 sucks, hundreds of windows fan kick start their Windows 7 and go after the Apple guy, it works vice versa and is not just applicable for OS, the same story will be seen between the cell phone wars.

I had my own problems but have seriously toned it down and enjoy having a friendly banter rather than you know bashing something out of the league, I let others do that and will continue letting them to that.

Ok so this is my analysis about things, I bolded the my analysis because it is mine, everything after this is only my analysis and no one else’s, so if you are here to criticize please leave, respect other’s views and don’t start a war in the comments form.

My 2 and half cents on the Fan[atics]

Apple Fanboys – Well I am not a huge Apple fan and I have my own reasons for them, but Apple fanboys are really bad, they don’t really appreciate their own product, they just love to bash other products and say bad things about them.

The most common thing you will see them saying is a windows product is #fail, or they will worry about the windows 7 pricing saying it is too high, when you can buy 2-3 laptops with windows 7 preloaded for the price you can buy a Macbook Pro.

Microsoft Fanboys - Microsoft fanboys do not see anything other than Microsoft beyond their eyes, they are too busy with Microsoft stuff that they have closed their eyes to everything that is happening around them.

Ask a Microsoft fanboy about Linux and they will act like they have been living in hibernation for last 2000 years or whatever. A Microsoft fanboy will get very infuriated if you say one bad thing about MSFT products, they really can’t take criticism in the lighter vein.

Linux fanboys – Well these are the guys who think they are supercool personalities that did the world a favor by using Linux, comeon there is no unity within the Linux community itself, other than being Microsoft bashers, these guys have 100zillion distros, so understand the infighting within the community itself.

While some are fedora fans and some are ubuntu fans some are red hat fans and so on, but their one common goal is to destroy windows which ain’t happening in next 50 years at least.

And yes Linux fanboys think that they are smarter than the rest of the world, in fact they are arrogant to the core, case in question one of my friends in a very good position in a very big company told me this;

These guys who promote Linux as a proper solution are cheap bastards, they can’t afford to buy something, so they just bitch about how everything else is costly, if the whole fucking world went open source, we can kiss goodbye to the god damn economy, shouldn’t those guys work for free then we would get work done for absolutely free, bloody double standard mofus charge for what they do and then say that everything should be free.

Well some of the statements are not mine, but I am not a Microsoft, Mac or Linux fanboy, I enjoy using everything that is available for the features they provide and where they will help me in what I want to do, not because I think something is better than something else.

A very annoying example of this is a recent Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS) attack on twitter, now to do this neither do you need to have access to a server nor do you have to have physical presence on it, all you have to do is keep sending requests at such a rate that the service cannot process legitimate one’s, now read this article at Wikipedia to understand what DoS and DDos actually means.

Now let’s talk a bit about hacking, what does hacking mean? Hacking means that someone has physical access to your information either through direct access or through a worm/trojan/spyware planted on your PC, and they can carry out attacks on your machine directly, for more information about hacking read this post on Wikipedia about Hacker.

Now did twitter get physically compromised today? No, not at all they were under a DoS or DDos, so how the hell were they hacked? Yea reading the above you might think so to, but our really so intelligent Indian media has this to say.

• DNA India – Twitter site shut in hack attack
• IBN Live – Twitter down in hack attack

Now I didn’t bother reading other news because this is utter bullshit, not only are they spreading wrong information they are also teaching their audiences wrong things, in addition to that they have no sense of research or other things, this is really unacceptable and wrong, if I had the choice I would fire their asses out and keep them away from writing any technology related articles.

This is not the first time I have seen such utter bullshit come through, my point of ranting is that you are someone who most of the people rely on for information, not every tom, dick and harry has access to internet, when you write such things you are already sending a wrong message and providing wrong information to the masses.

A basic check on things would have gotten things settled out, but we should also remember most of these media companies run on exaggeration and Rakhi Sawant.

This has been a huge achievement for me since I started the blog a little over 3 years ago when I was the only author, over a period of time after 1 year we had some 5 authors who did a really good job but had to leave for personal reasons.

However I started rebuilding the blog again and wanted to have more innovativeness and variety in the content we dish out, and here we are 18 authors strong now and hopefully going to be one of the top 10 blogs in India soon and then maybe one of the top 10 in the world.

Much of the credit should go to all these wonderful people who we usually call authors but are part of the Techie Buzz family and much more than that and dish out content on the blog.

Some of the authors are new and joined the team based on my recent call for authors, but I have seen them and can tell you that everything is so exciting and I am really more than happy to have all of them on board.

Why a post here? Well I will be doing a introduction post on Techie Buzz soon, could not control my excitement over the things I was really excited about.

And here is to all the authors from Techie Buzz, cheers and here is to a long lasting relationship and future for the family.
