If I remember correctly, Caio and I decided to do this shoot the day before it actually happened. In typical Kate fashion, I decided we would just meet up at NEC and walk until something fun caught my eye. We were only a block away from school when we passed the T station. Rockin’ light, fun patterns and textures, and orange trains…what more could a girl ask for?! We spent the whole session in that train station, and I thought it was well worth the $2 ticket ;)

I wish you could see Ben’s awesome Australian accent in these photos. You’ll just have to admire his awesome modeling skills instead.

Catherine and Rich just got engaged in March, so I did celebratory photos for their new family unit. I loved their personalities, both individually and as an energetic group of four. We ended the session at a BBQ joint– best way to wrap the evening, in my opinion! ;)

Their little boy is so striking…his skin and his eyes shine so brightly! Maybe he just has awesome genes from his parents, but I really believe that his happy spirit makes him shine too. I think he’s got the best of both worlds ;)

Because I’m not usually in Houston for more than a few days at a time, I don’t usually have the chance to take many photos in the city. This time, however, I got a full week in the city and jumped at the chance to do Chloé’s headshots. I couldn’t have asked for a more fun musician to hang out with for a couple of hours!

We started off at Torchy’s Taco’s, my go-to spot for an awesome meal in Houston (seriously, their tacos really are damn good!) I spotted this sign in their new Rice Village location, so I knew we had to start Chloé’s shoot there. The staff was so accommodating, and I was so grateful for their patience that I emailed them one of the photos we took. To my surprise, the next day Torchy’s management tweeted the photo to their 15,000+ followers. Ha!

We spent the rest of the evening skipping around the Rice campus, starting with Duncan Recital Hall and working our way to a soccer field on the edge of campus. I couldn’t believe how many gorgeous dresses Chloé brought with her– between the dresses and her fabulous red hair, she was a ton of fun to photograph!
