Elizabeth Holmes is back in the headlines following the release of Nathan Fielder’s new documentary.

The 42-year-old disgraced Theranos founder and CEO is the subject of the filmmaker’s new bombshell doc You Can See Everything, which is out in theaters now. The movie follows Elizabeth, her longtime partner Billy Evans, and their family during the 34 days before she reported to prison in May 2023.

If you’re seeing the movie this weekend, you may be wondering when Elizabeth will be released from prison, and her release date actually recently got pushed up.

Elizabeth Holmes was convicted in November 2022

Elizabeth made global headlines following the scandal surrounding Theranos, which claimed its technology could perform a wide range of blood tests using only a small amount of blood. The company’s technology and business claims were later found to be misleading, and Elizabeth was found guilty of defrauding investors in January 2022.

In November 2022, she was sentenced to 135 months, which is more than 11 years, in prison with a projected release date in 2032. She then surrendered to the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas on May 30, 2023.

When Does Elizabeth Holmes Get Out of Prison?

In March 2026, the judge reduced Elizabeth‘s sentence by 12 months after considering revised federal sentencing guidelines that argued for a more lenient sentence given her lack of prior convictions and finding that none of her investor-victims experienced financial hardship as a result of the failed venture, per Investment News.

In September 2026, Forbes reported that Elizabeth‘s release date got pushed up again and she is scheduled to transfer to to the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valle, Texas on August 23, 2027.

She now has a projected full release date of February 22, 2030.

Find out if Elizabeth Holmes has seen the new documentary about her yet.

Miley Cyrus is getting emotional as she pays tribute to her late godmother Dolly Parton.

On Friday night (October 16), the 33-year-old “Bass Persuades” singer performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

During her show, Miley broke down in tears as she reflected on her special bond with the country music legend, who died in August at the age of 80.

“Me and Dolly, we are eternal. Nothing in this life could ever tear us apart,” Miley said on stage.

A post shared by Just Jared (@justjared)

“And I’m going to see her again. And I can’t f***ing wait because I miss her,” she continued as she wiped tears away from her eyes. “Some of the greatest music that we have today was written, produced and performed by my Aunt Dolly.”

Miley then sang an emotional rendition of Dolly‘s 1973 hit song “Jolene” as an image of her beloved “Aunt Dolly” appeared on stage behind her.

Also during her show, Miley said that the only time she saw Dolly perform live was at the Hollywood Bowl. Miley recalled that Dolly wanted her to join her up on stage, but Miley told Dolly that she wanted to experience the show the same way her fans would – from the seats.

According to Miley, Dolly opened that show with the Hannah Montana theme song, “The Best of Both Worlds,” and told the audience that Miley was watching the show with them.

“Like so many things Dolly did, that I didn’t understand it at the time, sitting here with you all right now, feeling her all around me, knowing that she’s right here beside me everyday, all the time, more than she could be when she was here. I feel her, now more than ever,” Miley told her audience. “Knowing that I get to share this story with you all, it makes that night very worth it. This memory is gold to me.”

In a recent interview, Miley reflected on the last time she spoke with Dolly before her passing.

Jacqueline “Jax” Guelli did follow up with Scott “Stew” Stewart after exiting Love Is Blind Season 11 after their first face-to-face reveal.

Jax dumped Stew shortly after they had their first in-person meeting in one of the Netflix reality show’s more shocking moments. She didn’t even tell him why she was leaving and instead had crew members tell Stew what happened during his confessional.

But during an exclusive chat with E! News, Stew revealed that Jax had actually followed up with him off-screen after finding him on social media and sending him a message.

“You leave the program, you go back to the hotel,” he said. “By the time I had checked into the hotel, I had a message from her. She had found me through Instagram.”

Stew called her message “super sincere” and said she explained to him “what she had been going through, what the situation was.”

“She explained that it wasn’t about me. It was about just the emotional overload of the previous couple weeks, and I think once we got settled back in Boston, once kind of normal life was allowed to resume, we were able to kind of catch our breaths,” he said.

Which Love Is Blind couples are still married?

During the actual show, Jax admitted to feeling nervous before meeting her new fiancé in person. In one of her confessionals, she even wondered out loud if it was possible to “break up” with someone at that point in the show.

When they first saw each other, Stew said people sometimes compared him to a Kennedy, while Jax said in her confessional, “Please, more like Mitt Romney.”

Melissa McCarthy is trending after Chuck Lorre revealed that CBS initially pushed back on casting her as Molly Flynn in the hit sitcom Mike & Molly.

The casting story is included in Lorre‘s new memoir, Sitcom, and was also discussed in a recent interview with People.

What did Chuck Lorre say about Melissa McCarthy’s casting?

According to Lorre, CBS executives were initially hesitant to cast Melissa in the lead role. One executive reportedly suggested choosing a thinner actress and using a fat suit to portray Molly instead.

Lorre said he opposed that idea and believed Melissa was the right person for the part, writing, “Melissa was gonna be my Molly. End of discussion.”

The Gilmore Girls alum would go on to win an Emmy nomination for her performance on the sitcom and she was nominated two more times after that.

“There was such a crazy resistance to this once-in-a-lifetime talent,” he said. “She is truly one of our great comic actresses, and she’s done dramatic stuff as well that’s extraordinary.”

He also revealed that Melissa knew about the network’s pushback and was “fine” with him including the story in his memoir.

Mike & Molly starred Melissa opposite Billy Gardell. Her character, Molly Flynn, is a Chicago schoolteacher, while Billy‘s character Mike Biggs is a Chicago police officer. They meet at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting and fall in love. The show ran for six seasons before concluding in 2016.

Billy Gardell recently opened up about his weight loss and his thoughts on Ozempic.

It also starred Katy Mixon, Reno Wilson, Swoosie Kurtz, Louis Mustillo, and Nyambi Nyambi.

How did the show affect Melissa McCarthy’s career?

Melissa had already worked steadily in television for years before the sitcom, having starred on all seven season of Gilmore Girls and appearing on other shows like Private Practice and Samantha Who?

Lorre also surprised many with his candid thoughts on Anna Faris not being the right choice for Mom. Here’s how she responded to him.

Despite her previous credits, Mike & Molly was a big boost to her career and led to her winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2011. Around the same time, her film career took off with her work in Bridesmaids, which led to some of her other notable movies like The Heat, Spy, and Identity Thief.

“Forgive me for being a little smug, but when Bridesmaids came out, I felt pretty ******* smart,” Lorre wrote in his book.

Melissa Gilbert has shared a new message after husband Timothy Busfield‘s big victory in court.

On Friday (October 16), a judge in New Mexico dismissed the 69-year-old actor/director’s indictment on child sexual abuse charges.

District Court Judge Joseph Montano granted Timothy‘s motion to throw out the grand jury indictment, claiming that prosecutors misrepresented the admissibility of lie detector evidence to the grand jury, according to TMZ. Judge Montano also said that the state did not call certain witnesses after the grand jury asked to hear from them.

Shortly after the judge made his ruling, the 62-year-old Little House on the Prairie actress took to Instagram to share a quote seemingly in response to the news.

“So shines a good deed in a weary world,” Melissa posted.

The exact quote is said by Gene Wilder near the end of 1971’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and is one word away from a line of dialogue from William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice spoken by Portia: “So shines a good deed in a naughty world.”

Ethan Hawke and Drew Barrymore are iconic Hollywood stars, but the two actors recently revealed that they had never actually met before appearing together on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Ethan appeared on the Friday (October 16) episode to discuss the second season of his FX series The Lowdown, which premiered on Wednesday night. During their conversation, the topic turned to their long careers and the fact that they had somehow never crossed paths in person.

Here’s how you can watch The Lowdown season 2 without cable.

Ethan Hawke couldn’t believe they never dated

The Sinister star told Drew that he had been aware of her throughout his life, even saying, “I can’t remember a time in my life when I was not aware of you.”

The talk show host echoed his sentiments, adding that she, too, had always known about him, prompting Ethan to say he was surprised they’d never dated.

“What I can’t believe is that we never dated, you know? I mean…” he said.

“Where were you?” Drew playfully responded, “And by the way what me and every other girl on the planet wouldn’t have given to date you. Where the hell were you?”

Nothing ever happened between them

Ethan joked that he wanted to “play it cool” and let something happen naturally, which is why he never called her.

“And look what happened — nothing!” Drew said, with the Before Sunrise alum adding, “We’re meeting on a talk show.”

Ethan is now married to his wife, Ryan, and they have been since 2008. Before that, he was married to Uma Thurman and he shares daughter Maya Hawke and son Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke with the Kill Bill star.

He shares daughters Clementine Hawke and Indiana Hawke with Ryan and recently made a rare public appearance with Ryan and Indiana at a film festival.

Whalefall is now in theaters, and there’s a lot to unpack about those final scenes.

Austin Abrams stars as Jay Gardiner, a young diver searching for his late father’s remains when he gets swallowed by a sperm whale.

His father, Mitt, is played by Josh Brolin.

While Jay struggles to escape, memories of their difficult relationship become an important part of his fight to survive.

The ending reveals whether Jay survives and what happens when he finally opens his father’s letter.

Warning: Major spoilers for Whalefall ahead!

Does Austin Abrams’ Character Jay Survive in Whalefall?

Yes, Jay survives.

After several failed attempts to escape, Jay draws on the survival skills his father taught him. Using a battery, steel wool and his remaining tank oxygen, he triggers an explosion that opens a way out of the whale’s carcass.

He reaches the surface, where people aboard a nearby boat rescue him.

He doesn’t escape unharmed. The final scene shows Jay with lasting injuries, including scarring and the loss of his left hand.

What Happens to the Whale?

The whale dies, but Jay’s explosion isn’t the reason why.

Prior to the explosion, orcas attack the sperm whale, tearing into its flesh and leaving it fatally injured. By the time Jay carries out his final escape plan, the animal has succumbed to those injuries.

What Happened to Jay’s Dad & Does Jay Find His Remains?

Mitt died by suicide before Jay’s underwater journey. He had terminal mesothelioma, and the film explains that he wanted to die at sea rather than in a hospital bed.

Jay returns to the ocean hoping to recover his father’s body, despite their strained relationship. He ultimately does not find Mitt’s remains, but the memories of the two together help Jay to figure his way out of the whale.

Is Jay’s Dad’s Spirit Inside the Whale?

The movie connects Mitt with the whale, but doesn’t establish that his spirit literally lives inside the whale.

As Jay’s condition worsens, he hears his father’s voice and experiences conversations with him. These scenes can be understood as hallucinations, while also leaving room for a spiritual interpretation.

What Was in the Letter to Jay?

We never learn the letter’s exact contents.

In the final sequence, Jay is aboard a boat with his family and finally reads the letter Mitt left him. He smiles as he reads, but the audience doesn’t hear the words. We can just see that Jay is finally ready to read the letter he put off reading for so long.

Jay then lies back on the boat, echoing his father’s position earlier in the film, and smiles.

Is the Whalefall Movie’s Ending Different From the Book’s Ending?

Yes. Jay survives in both versions, but his rescue happens differently.

In Daniel Kraus‘ novel, the whale beaches, and scientists on shore help rescue Jay. In the movie, he escapes while the whale is still at sea and is rescued by people aboard a nearby boat.

The movie also adds the final scene with Jay and his family on the boat, where he finally reads his father’s letter.

According to Entertainment Weekly, that epilogue isn’t in the novel, which ends with his rescue. The film gives viewers one more moment with Jay after his ordeal, showing him ready to read the words he had previously avoided.

Wondering whether there’s anything else after the movie ends? Find out whether Whalefall has an end-credits scene.
