Universal has shared a new trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s highly-anticipated new movie The Odyssey, coming to theaters this summer.

Described as a “mythic action epic,” the film is an adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic the Odyssey that follows Odysseus, king of Ithaca, on his journey to return home after the Trojan War.

The new trailer provides a look at many of the A-list stars who lead the film’s cast, including Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as Telemachus, Robert Pattinson as Antinous, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Charlize Theron as Calypso, and many more.

The movie also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Himesh Patel, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, and more.

The Odyssey was filmed using a brand new IMAX film technology that will bring the foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time. It will open in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.

Nolan wrote an directed the movie, in addition to executive producing.

Standout moments in the new trailer provide Robert‘s chilling turn as the antagonistic Antinous and a look at the terrifying Cyclops, plus hints at some of the other perilous challenges that Odysseus will face along his journey.

The 51-year-old Oscar-nominated actor was spotted inside the 2026 Met Gala celebrating “Costume Art” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night (May 4) in New York City. He was wearing a black suit with a white shirt.

His arrival came just hours after his partner, Gigi Hadid, 31, made a rare comment about him on the red carpet.

Gigi was chatting with Cara Delevingne and Ashley Graham during Vogue‘s livestream and ended up gushing over the American Sniper star.

Talking about how she maintains her focus when in front of a camera, the supermodel said, per People, “I try to bring my mind to a happy place. What we do in our job is go to a happy place, think of happy thoughts and the smile comes through the eyes and it makes you come to life.”

For Gigi, her happy place is her daughter, Khai, and her “man.”

“When I think about Khai, maybe I’m giving joy. And then I’ll serve something else to Bradley for the camera,” she said.

Sunday‘s mom Nicole Kidman was also a co-chair of the event. Her dad, country singer Keith Urban, was not in attendance.

The rule went into effect in 2018 and was made public by Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler, who revealed that she wasn’t allowed to attend that year as she was too young. She was only 15 at the time.

THR did some digging at the time and learned that new guidelines had been imposed. The rule was made one year after some celebs caused controversy by smoking in the bathroom.

Joe Alwyn steps out in a custom look for the 2026 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 4) in New York City.

The 35-year-old actor wore a look created exclusively for him by Valentino creative director Alessandro Michele.

Joe wore a Valentino look created exclusively for him by the brand’s creative director Alessandro Michele. The outfit consists of a hand-pleated taupe crepe de chine shirt with a draped neckline, a pleated geranium satin belt and black satin cady trousers with a front pleat detail.

He completed the look with Valentino Garavani accessories.

For his grooming, celebrity makeup artist Holly Silius collaborated with Joe’s stylist Rose Forde

“Rose always has incredible mood boards and ideas,” Holly told Vogue. “We work really well together. I kind of understand the way she describes [things] and how she wants the look to come together because it’s very character-driven.”

The reference for the look was Roman sculptures, which Holly called androgynous with hints of femininity. Both makeup artist and stylist wanted porcelain skin with a cloud-makeup twist.

“You’re going to look at Joe and do a double-take because we want him to look really porcelain,” Holly shared.

However, to keep some “masculinity” in his face, Holly left the under eyes completely untouched.

“It makes them look hot,” she told Vogue. “I’ll do maybe a little contour under the jawline. Just see, but in a photo, it makes them look like a bit more sexy.”

Two more contestants were just sent home on American Idol‘s 24th season and the Top 3 singers have been revealed ahead of next week’s finale episode.

The May 4 episode was a special “Class of 2006” reunion episode, with the Top 5 contestants performing duets with alum from the show’s fifth season, which aired 20 years ago.

Each of the Top 5 singers this season also performed a second song that featured a dance performance from Dancing With the Stars pros, as part of a partnership between the two ABC shows.

Paula Abdul was a guest judge on the panel while fellow former judge Randy Jackson was a guest mentor who helped the contestants prepare. His appearance on the show caused some concern among fans due to his frail look.
