A little late today but not without something somewhat special. That’s right, I’m gonna start posting 2 releases on #musicmonday. And that starts right. First, we have a two-song release from W&W. Expect some decent tech trance here, I prefer the track system overload; lemme know what you think.

Second is a great trance track from Solar Movement presented by Activa. The Mat Zo Remix is really something special.

Today I’ve got a real treat for you. From the geniuses that brought you Kalopsia in 2007, comes The Blizzard’s second official release, Iselilja. With haunting, melodic vocals from Gaate this release just has fantastic written all over it. My personal favorite is the Michael Cassette remix, but I still absolutely love the Original and Sunn Jellie mixes. I am very happy to be posting this here today. I hope everybody is having a great weekend. I am trying very hard to but it is a little difficult as I have just lost my job. But that’s okay because this has been a fantastic summer for trance and progressive music. Dakota, alias of the well known and respected Markus Schulz, has released his 3rd single Sin City from his album Thoughts Become Things. It is very groovy progressive house track and is backed up with two remixes from Cosmic Gate and Rex Mundi. I am partial to the Cosmic Gate remix myself, but let me know what you think.

With today’s daily dose of music, I am very happy to bring you the All Animals EP from Jonsi & Alex. This 33 minute experimental ambient masterpiece is part of the collector’s edition of Jonsi & Alex’s debut album Riceboy Sleeps. In case you didn’t know already, Jón Þór Birgisson(Jonsi) is the frontman from Sigur Ros and he has teamed up with his lover Alex Somers to create quite an ethereal listening experience.

If you’re anything like me then you can never have too many wallpapers. Thankfully, Bobby Solomon, the author of Kitsune Noir, has been running the Desktop Wallpaper Project for about 6 months now. Every week Bobby posts a new wallpaper from a different artist with a short blurb describing the inspiration for or the creation of the wallpaper.

I strongly suggest giving these wallpapers (along with Mr. Solomon’s great blog) a look as there are some hidden gems in there.

Yes, you’ve guessed it, the date will be 123456789 not once, but twice today. This really isn’t that significant but it is a rarity as it will not happen for another century.

Mix Podcast Episode 009: July 1, 2009

Hey there! I only now realize that it has been much longer than I thought since I last released a podcast. I imagined it in my head as maybe only 3-4 weeks when actually it has nearly 2 months. Wow. In order to not allow that to happen again, the podcast will now be released the first and third Wednesday of every month. (The podcast will now also be released in 192kbps mp3 quality and average an hour long) That means that the episode following this one will be released on July 15th.
