TweetDeck for the iphone landed in the App store and so far the install looks great and works just as fluidly. Popular apps like twitterfon, twitterific and tweetie have their work cut out for them.

The install can be accessed via this link that will open itunes and direct you to the install.

The ability to use multiple twitter accounts is a great feature and so far the app has operated flawlessly on my iphone 3g.

Microsoft has released the popular Sysinternal tools to the web via a static web page. No longer do you have to download and unzip the package.

All of the tools are readily available via this site. Some of my personal favorites include, regmon, filemon, tcpview and rootkit revealer just to name a few.

This will end up saving me a bunch of time when troubleshooting machines.

This is a file share allowing access to all Sysinternals utilities. We have developed this to test an alternate distribution mechanism for our utilities.

This will allow you to run these tools from any computer connected to the Internet without having to navigate to a webpage, download and extract the zip file.

Financial success is relative to what the individual believes success is. Whatever the threshold, these simple strategies will allow you to build a foundation that will enable you to succeed. 1. Develop a budget
   Your budget will be your blueprint for your future savings/investing plan. Not only do you need a solid budget to allocate your resources, your budget can double as your personal coach. The budget provides leadership and strict guidelines. Just as a large company needs a budget to conduct their operations, your personal financial affairs are no different. Check out Mint.com. This is an extremely useful resource to use when beginning the budgeting process.
   
2. Contribute accordingly
   Once your assets and liabilities have been outlined accordingly, you now have the option of selecting the vehicle that is right for you and your financial situation. Don’t blow all of your money investing in penny stocks because your buddy gave you a hot tip. Do the right thing and research what is available to you. If you need help, dont hesitate to contact a financial adviser. Most advisers give free consultations and portfolio analysis in an effort to get you to buy financial products from them. the choice is yours but they may identify weaknesses in your current allocations that you can then rectify on your own.
3. Live below your means
   Just because you think you make “good money” does not mean you should spend like there is no tomorrow. For example, if you get a raise at work, automatically put a portion of that money aside every paycheck. If you act like you never received that new income, you can make your money work for you by investing or adding to a retirement account. This is easier said than done,  When humans receive more money, they tend to want to spend it immediately. Instead of spending the newly acquired income, put the money to good use, you will reap the benefits later on.
4. Invest accordingly
   If you are in your 20’s, you should be fully prepared to have a diversified and aggressive portfolio. As each decade goes by, it is in your best interest to begin to manage your risk accordingly and move to safer investments like cd’s and fixed income investments.
5. Monitor your progress
   You don’t know where you are going if you don’t know where you have been. You need to be able to track the success or failure of your efforts to determine how to readjust your strategy. Dont keep riding losses and cutting winners short. Just like you recieved a report card in school, you need to consistently check your financial report card to avoid those failing grades!
   The steps outlined here will not make you rich overnight! These are tried and true methods to ensure that over the long term your efforts are fruitful. I for one have seen too  many people with great opportunities throw it all away to poor financial management. You are in control of your destiny and theses steps will help put you on the path to financial freedom in due time.

Wolfram alpha is an amazing resource. The power behind this utility is just incredible. As Google has carved its niche into the search arena, wolfram is in a position to become a front runner in the computational/factual arena.

Wolfram is a “computational knowledge engine” for the Web. Basically it allows you to ask factual questions and it computes answers for you. Remember that google and wolfram have their differences. If you need to find web pages related to a certain topic, then google has your number. Wolfram on the other hand answers questions and performs computations to arrive at the answer you are looking for. For example, a search of Pi in google will yield a value and a few websites related to what Pythagorean therom is, wolfram alpha however presents hard factual data and even calculates the value continually if asked. (see below)

LG has decided to create a web glossary that allows you to enter common text acronyms and decipher their original meanings.

The DTXTR site is geared towards assisting parents in figuring out what their kids are talking about via text message. Their website explains it as “New trends show that texting is on its way to becoming more popular and important to teens than voice-to-voice calling. In fact, 42% of teens report that they could text with their eyes closed!

Keeping up with your teen can be exhausting, especially when they appear to be conversing in another language – which is where DTXTR comes in. LG is committed to providing parents the interactive and collaborative DTXTR resource so you can decode your teen’s texts, and stay on top of the texting trend.”

The glossary is expanding and there is the ability to enter your own strings and meaning. They do however review each string to prevent useless entries. Surprisingly there were a number of strings that i did not expect to see listed.

Opening the site to the average user allows for the more obscure messages to be added to the glossary. We will see how long it takes to add the one i just entered. I tend to use that one frequently.

Thank you Microsoft, finally a support tool that takes the problem of describing an issue to a support technician out of the hands of the user. In tech support work, so much of the job deals with the proper interpretation of the problem. In instances where remote connections may not be available, this tool is a godsend for performing problem determination.

Many computer users are HORRIBLE at trying to describe what is wrong with their machine. The problem steps recorder takes all the guesswork out of the equation. It allows the user to recreate the issue step by step and pass this info along to a support tech. With tools like this, Windows 7 is shaping up to be a promising OS.

In windows 7, to access the support tool either type PSR.EXE in the search box, click the windows button and search for problem recorder or click help and support and search there.

The recorded file is saved in a .zip file in a folder of your choosing. Within the zip file there should be a mhtml file with the screenshots and a full log of all steps performed.

Below is an example of the screenshots that are captured and displayed in the final .zip file.

The software suggests that Before sharing this file, you should verify the following:

•The steps below accurately describe the problem.

•There is no information below or on any screenshots that you do not want others to see.

Passwords or any other text you typed were not recorded, except for function and shortcut keys that you used.

You can do the following:

•Review the recorded problem steps

•Review the recorded problem steps as a slide show

•Review the additional details

The problem steps recorder should prove to be a tremendous tool in the fight to repair those pesky system problems, whatever they may be. This gives the tech support representative a tremendous leg up and saves time that is lost during trying to help the user describe the problem correctly. Now it is all in the hands of the end user to actually use the tool!
