I have just spent 30 minutes in a school gymnasium crying like a baby. The kids’ school put on a Remembrance Day presentation that was absolutely beautiful.

This is the 1st one with hub preparing to go overseas. I knew if would be hard, and it truly was. I have never felt more alone. Despite the huge crowd of parents and children. It was the first time I have felt so utterly and nakedly alone.

This is tough, but this is my service – my duty. I stand firm here as he prepares to join the PRT in making the lives of the Afghan people better. This is my duty to my country and though it’s hard, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I am the first to admit that I buy things impulsively, much to my husband’s dismay. But I really think that retail operations, or anyone who deals with the public, should remember that even when I am returning an item, I am still a customer and as such should be treated well. Three different shops in the last little while have disappointed me greatly, and will not be getting any further business from me.

When a customer is returning items to your establishment, keep in mind that at this point, THEY ARE STILL A CUSTOMER!

Don’t treat them like they are committing an offense by returning goods. Treat them with the same courtesy they are shown when they purchase.

More times than not, clerks who take in returns have been rude, uncommunicative, uncooperative and just downright nasty. They have more than once had a fit when I wouldn’t give my address or phone number for a return. Citing “store policy” I have been asked for information which is not needed to ensure the credibility of my transaction. If I have the original receipts, the original goods and the original credit card to which they are charged, there is NO NEED for you to have any other information from me!

When your returns people are rude to customers, it colours how that customer feels about your business and your service.

And trust me, when someone is unhappy – they are going to tell everyone they can about it!

So I bought a Wii – after months of talking about it to my husband I jumped when WalMart put it on sale and hustled my fat bum over there and scooped up the last one. Delusions of fabulosity filled my head – I would grab the EA Active disc, and get my butt in gear and take the 30 Day Challenge.

Great idea, but the execution sucked.

Unfortunately, the 30 day challenge is not for fabulous and thick (FAT) girls to start with. On day 1, I managed to walk for 2 whole minutes before damn near dying and then managed to do only 16 squats and a handful of lunges before completely falling over out of breath and miserable.

I’m thinking 30 Day Challenge is gonna do me in!

But it’s a start – my thighs are burning up today and though they really, really, REALLY hurt, hub gave it a reframe – that pain means I’m working at it and moving muscles that haven’t moved in several centuries. So today is a day off where I’m just trying to focus on moving a bit at a time so my thighs don’t lock up on me permanently – and will be back at it tomorrow.

Small steps.

Eating (not eating) the elephant 1 bite at a time

Except for one glaring error.

If your Twitter background features content designed to go on either side of the Twitter post area, depending on your readers monitor size, your message may be hidden all together.

I use three different monitor sizes (conveniently small, medium and large) and the only consistent thing is that content on the left side of your Twitter background is generally visible whereas content on the right can disappear depending on monitor size.

Keep this in mind when designer your background. As well remember that a tiled background with a small image makes for a busy page – sometimes a turnoff for visitors to your Twitter profile

I’ve been a very busy Diva for the past few weeks and it’s all good!

I’ve launched a new WordPress Bootcamp at www.wordpress-bootcamp.com – a great place for entrepreneurs who want to learn WordPress for themselves or for Virtual Assistants who want to learn the ins-and-outs of WordPress so they can manage client sites built in WP.

I have a membership site launching soon – stay tuned for details of that – and it’s included in your Bootcamp program as well!

And I found a fab new theme that I’ll be sharing soon – playing around with it now so I can find out the quirks and quarks!

So thank you for your patience and support – I truly appreciate it.
