Technicalities and design issues have hampered the progress of the ‘Portfolio’ section - our apologies and we are in the throws of correcting and ironing out video and photo upload issues.

July began with Download 2009 with an interview with Ray Luzier (Korn) published on Mike Dolbear's website. Further interviews will be posted in due course on Travis Smith (Trivium), Martin Axenrot (Opeth), Dan Searle (Architects). Further photographic assignments completed at the event encompassing European drum magazines and setting up an exciting project for Download 2010.

Jerome Marcus has also been appointed one of the main contributors for 'Blues In Britain' magazine after submitting a review on ZZ Top's performance at Download 2009.

Modern Drummer stepped up to expose new blood U.K. drummer Troy Miller who currently is on tour with Daniel Merriweather and holds the drumseat for Amy Winehouse.

Naadro, a percussion troupe from Sri Lanka also employed our services for their publicity circulation in U.K. and Europe which included setting up music festivals with WOMAD, Glastonbury, Big Chill - more information on www.naadro.com

Mark Schulman (P!NK) has his new DVD schedule for release in the autumn entitled 'A Day in the Recording Studio... A Do-It-Yourself Guide to Recording Great Drum Tracks for Drummers and All Musicians' also set to begin their U.K. and European leg of their current tour. Mark is scheduled to fit in a series of appearances, drum clinics and masterclasses with retailers and teaching facilities during this period - tour dates will be announced shortly.

The site has now been fully maintained although the ‘Portfolio’ section is now the only section receiving fully concentration for organising and will be fully functional by the end of July.

May was also a busy month, deciding on whether to attend the London International Music Show or Download 09. Receiving several project requests both journalistic and photographical from European magazines and websites preparation commenced on Download 09. Polish drum magazine ‘Top Drummer’ put in their requests for interviews and so did Italian drum magazine Percussioni who are undergoing a magazine re-launch, the new magazine will be called ‘Bateria Percussioni’ – completed projects will be posted in due course.

Journalistic projects include Billy Cobham which can be found through the link in the ‘Archives’ section and the Dave Weckl interview is scheduled for the next edition of ‘Top Drummer’ due out shortly.

The preparation for Mark Schulman’s drum clinic and Meet n Greet commitments in the U.K. for October through December are underway with dates now being confirmed to aid the launching with a press release circulated through the media of his new DVD entitled “A Day in the Recording Studio...A Do-It-Yourself Guide to Recording Great Drum Tracks for Drummers and All Musicians" – look out for the official dates to be published shortly.

Naadro, Sri Lankan percussion troupe have also employed the services of Jerome Marcus to promote their show in U.K. and Europe. Their current DVD has been submitted for review through drum and music media groups including further submissions through TV media including BBC, MTV and further theatre interests through the Royal Festival Hall with further circulations through WOMAD and promotional specialists.

Firstly, there has been a delay in the update for April as the backend of the website has gone through maintenance. There are also a few sections being revamped to accommodate videos and both the 'Portfolio' and 'Scrapbook' sections will have a new look.

The beginning of April presented the annual Frankfurt Musikmesse in Germany. The event showed evident signs of the economic slump hitting the industry with the attendance noticeably down on previous years. Meetings at the show have developed into lucrative prospects with announcements to be posted in the months to come as negotiations are confirmed. Great bumping into friends at Vic Firth, Mapex, Remo and Sabian and with international Carmine Appice, Will Calhoun, Dom Famularo, Mark Schulman and German drummers Claus Hessler, Moritz Mueller and Dirk Brand. All reporting feeling the downturn but the general projected outlook greeted with professional optimism.

Mark Schulman (P!NK) have employed the services of Jerome Marcus to cover his clinic commitments in the U.K. and Europe for 2009. Mark has recorded an instructional DVD due out later this year - dates are being organised in Europe and U.K. to support his masterclasses and promotion.

Journalistic endeavours resulted in an interview with the legendary Bernard Purdie for Mike Dolbear - an honour and joy to interview. Gary Husband currently with his new outfit 'Drive' provided an insight into this jazz project and his musical background - both interview links can be found in 'Archives'. Drum magazine 'Top Drummer' also commissioned an interview for Dave Weckl which will be due in the forthcoming issue. Additionally, footage was discovered on YouTube of a Mike Portnoy interview led by Jakob Hermann and supported by Jerome Marcus in 2007, links again available in the 'Archive' section.

We are also pleased to officially announce that Troy Miller (Amy Winehouse/Mark Ronson) has employed the services of Jerome Marcus to cover coordinative activities in his busy touring schedule.

Jerome Marcus is an administrator for the 'Drum Clinics' Facebook page together with Martin Ranscombe - a page recently launched by Chris Newell. 'Sam Kelly's Station House' is also another Facebook page updated with news and media.

Video footage on YouTube was found of Dom Famularo speaking passionately about helping a young drummer suffering from a degenerate disease and helping raise £6,000 for the familyon his tour of the U.K.. In association, Jerome Marcus was responsible for putting together this particular 14 date U.K. tour, Drumming Great Dom Famularo Speaks of The Power of Music (courtesy of webzine Planet Drum).
