I don’t know about you but I hate driving at night, in the fog, or in the pouring rain.  Come to think about it, I don’t really like driving at all.

Maybe I should get a chauffeur?

Anyway, I was sent these pieces of information about driving in the rain the other day and whilst I have to admit at this point in time, I haven’t actually tried either, I thought I’d better share, just in case.

They were sent to me in an e-mail from a person I know, like and trust, so it’s up to you whether you take note or not, and I’ll post them, just as I received them .

 Tip 1

HOW TO ACHIEVE GOOD VISION IN A HEAVY DOWNPOUR

We are not sure why it is so effective; just try this method when it rains heavily.  This method was told by a Police friend who had experienced and confirmed it.

It is useful…even driving at night.

Most of the motorists would turn on HIGH or FASTEST SPEED of the wipers during heavy downpour, yet the visibility in front of the windshield is still bad.

In the event you face such a situation, just put on your SUNGLASSES (any model will do), and miracles – all of a sudden, your visibility in front of your windshield is perfectly clear, as if there is no rain.

Make sure you always have a pair of SUNGLASSES in your car.

You are not only helping yourself to drive safely with good vision, but also might save your friend’s life by giving him this idea.

Try it yourself and share it with your friends!

Amazingly, you still see the drops on the windshield, but not the sheet of rain falling.

You can see where the rain bounces off the road.

It works to eliminate the “blindness” from passing cars, or the “kickup” if you are following a car in the rain.

Tip 2

RAIN, ICE AND YOUR CRUISE CONTROL

Another good tip: A 36 year old female had an accident several weeks ago. It was raining, though not excessively when her car suddenly began to hydro-plane and literally flew through the air.

She was not seriously injured but very stunned at the sudden occurrence!

When she explained to the Police Officer what had happened, he told her something that every driver should know – NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN WITH YOUR CRUISE CONTROL ON.

She thought she was being cautious by setting the cruise control and maintaining a safe consistent speed in the rain, but the Police Officer told her that if the cruise control is on, your car will begin to hydro-plane when the tyres lose contact with the road, and your car will accelerate to a higher rate of speed making you take off like an aeroplane.

She told the Officer that was exactly what had occurred.

The Officer said this warning should be listed, on the driver’s seat sun-visor – NEVER USE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE ROAD IS WET OR ICY, along with the airbag warning.

We tell our teenagers to set the cruise control and drive a safe speed – but we don’t tell them to use the cruise control only when the road is dry.

The only person the accident victim found who knew this, (besides the Officer), was a man who’d had a similar accident, totalled his car and sustained severe injuries.

NOTE: Some vehicles (like the Toyota Sienna Limited XLE) will not allow you to set the cruise control when the windshield wipers are on.

As, I said, I haven’t tried these and don’t know if they’re true but they might be worth investigating.  They both sound sensible and feasible to me, so if you agree, please pass this message on.

You never know, you might just be saving a life!

When I first met him  in 2010, he was giving away his shiny red BMW.

Well, I don’t suppose he was actually giving it away, because prior to the presentation there had been a contest and the person to bring in the most new members to GVO won the car.

Last week my parents celebrated their  60th Wedding Anniversary and I wrote them this poem.

They’re an incredible couple.

They argue every day as a matter of course, and if they don’t, then there’s generally something wrong, like they’re ill.

Their arguements never amount to anything though, and they have this philosophy every day’s a good day as long as you live to see it.

They’ve been a real inspiration to my brother, two sisters and all our offspring, and we love them dearly.

  A match made in heaven are Eddie and Kath
60 years they have been man and wife
Worked hard as a team,
Through the good and the lean
And shared in life’s trouble and strife

They argue and shout and often fall out
But never end up in a fight
Just get things off their chest
Then give it a rest
Both still convinced each one’s right

Eddie and Kath just confirm, what all couples must learn
Marriages last if you love, trust and care
Though joined by a ring,
You can do your own thing
And still have great memories to share

On this day in their life, 60 years man and wife
Successfully they’ve passed the test

Like many couples of their age, they’ve been through some really tough times but still think they’ve seen the best of times.  Their generation believe life is only going to get worse, and they could be right, because we all take so much for granted.

In their day, very few people were rich and unlike today, people expected to work for everything they got.

Also, they expected, once they were in employment, they would remain in employment, unless something awful happened or they chose to move on to something else.

It’s not like that these days, is it?

Each day, the unemployment figure rises and very few people feel secure when they’re employed by someone else.  That’s why more and more of us are turning to the internet as a means of providing either a full time, or additional income.

It’s especially true for the middle aged and more mature individuals, who find re-employment more challenging.

When the demand exceeds the supply, employers can be very choosy about who they take on, and unfortunately it’s not always experience that counts.

However, starting your own business is not  always as easy as it seems though, and quite frankly a lot of people can’t do it.

Ever since I mentioned Joel Therien was such a bother, people have been asking me,

… “Why?”

Well, the thing is I’ve written and published The GVO Story which is all about him, his company and the amazingly affordable products and services he offers to anyone wishing to have an online presence, regardless of where they live in the world.

Of course, they have to have an internet connection

… Duh!

Anyway, the book had everything in it, and I was happy.

Like many countries, UK is currently going through a recession, and at the beginning of this year, a young lad I know very well lost his job.

It was a case of last in, first out, and he found himself at the Job Centre, where the staff were not particularly helpful.

Basically, you fill in a form and then go off and register on loads of job agency websites, apply for as many suitable jobs as you can in the hope you’ll eventually get an interview.

This proves you are actively seeking employment and therefore entitled to any money the Job Centre is able to give you to keep the wolves from the door.   It’s a soul destroying experience, but fortunately the young lad was able to find alternative employment within 5 weeks, albeit at a much lower salary than he’d previously been on.

However, he had to take it, because a) if he hadn’t his benefits would have stopped, b) he needed to pay the rent and c) it’s somehow easier to find employment when you’re already in work.

Now, about four weeks ago, a friend of the family found himself in similar circumstances in as much as he also lost his job.

This time, however, he wasn’t the last in.

Infact, he’d been in his job for over 20 years and had a managerial role.  He also had his petrol paid for, a mobile phone and private health cover, so it came as quite a shock to suddenly find, as the only bread winner in the family, he was “inbetween opportunities”, as they say.

Like the young lad, he’s been enduring the Job Centre, and finding it just as depressing.  He says, the staff there make you feel really guilty as if it’s your fault the whole country now has more people than suitable jobs.

They more or less tell you to take anything that’s available even if by doing so you wouldn’t be able to pay the mortgage, or feed and clothe your family.

Fortunately, at the moment he’s resilient and hasn’t yet been worn down by the process, but unquestionably he will struggle to find the type of job he wants and would be ideally suited for.

Why?

Well, firstly his age – he’s fifty(ish) and secondly, his education.  You see he didn’t go to university and his previous job didn’t require him to go on numerous courses to get bits of paper.

That means when he goes to fill in the application forms, there’s no-where to say, well actually I haven’t got those requirements, BUT I have got over thirty years experience in the school of life in the real world of work.

My point is, no matter how skilled, or dedicated you are to your JOB no-one is indispensible.

Many people have discovered that the hard way, and found they needed another way to either earn, or supplement their income, which is why many have turned to the internet. Indeed, many have found their fortune online, but there are many roads to travel and lots of pitfalls if you don’t know where to go and who to follow.

Dean Holland, found that out to his cost.  Well, at least, initially, but soon turned his life around and went from being over $60,000 in debt to living the life of his dreams, and he’s now teaching others to do the same.

The nice thing about how he’s doing it, is he’s not expecting anyone to spend a fortune, because he knows the majority of people just don’t have it.

His methods are proven to work, and are current, which is a good thing because we all know how quickly the internet changes.  Dean is a good instructor too.   He doesn’t make you feel as if you should know what he’s teaching, unlike some people who assume too much.

Like many people on line I have bought lots of courses for ALL sorts of things and am probably what’s known in UK as a Jack of all Trades – meaning I know a little about a lot.

Incase you haven’t heard of him, he famously went from over $60,000 in debt to selling over $1,000,000 online in just 3 years, which makes me wonder where I went wrong!

Dean is one of the good guys out there and doesn’t feed you a whole load of hype and false promises, but the reason I mention this is he’s just handed down the gauntlet and challenged people who either want to get started online, or speed up their progress to take his Quick Start Challenge.

Last night I went to see the film, I Give It A Year.  It was brilliant – really funny.

It’s about the trials and tribulations of a pair of newlyweds during their first year as a married couple, and the language sometimes is unbelievable. How the actors and actresses managed to keep straight faces, I’ll never know. I won’t reveal the plot, but let’s just say it does have a happy ending.

Anyway, when I got home, I couldn’t sleep, so I did a bit of reading and realised if I hung on for a little while longer, I could listen to the Pure Leverage training webinar starring Daegan Smith.

I’ve heard his name often, as he’s quite a power house as far as list building  is concerned, but I’d never seen him, so I decided to tune in to see what he sounded and looked like.

That’s the thing with the Pure Leverage conference suite – you can see and hear the presenters – all at the same time too as you can drag the presenters into the middle of the screen!

Anyway, last night or rather this morning for me,  I watched and listened to Joel Therien, Mark Call and Daegan Smith explain how they had all started with nothing and worked their way up to the dizzy heights they now find themselves in.

They started off acknowledging each other, which I must admit, in the early hours of this morning I could have done without.  The mutual admiration society bit may have provided the necessary social proof and be well deserved, but sometimes, people would rather just have their time respected.

Just saying!

Still, I looked and listened as once again it was pointed out, IF you want to better yourself, you need to look at who you spend your time with.

It seems your life is directly affected by the five people you most associate with, so if you want to increase your financial status, you need to hang out with the people who have more than you do and know how to do it.

Mark Call certainly believes that.  I’ve known of him for a few years now and even met him a couple of years ago. I’ve watched as he’s risen up the ranks,  and last night he revealed how just five years ago he’d been through a messy divorce and had left the family home.  He’d lost everything other than the things  he took in the five boxes he’d placed in the back of his pick up truck.

He’s certainly made up for it since, and attributes that on the positive guidance and influence of Joel and Daegan.

Of course, a lot of hard work has gone into it too, but their message is you have to give in order to receive.

Some people claim you have to be rich before you can give, but historically, the people we perceive to be really wealthy, actually gave generously before they became rich.

It’s the same with anything else in life, whether that be relationships, health, fitness, religion.  If you want to get better at something, hang around with those who can do it, and have what you want.

If you can’t do it in person, read their books, listen to their audios, watch the videos or get involved in the online webinars.

If you want life to change, YOU must change.

All three presenters prove anything is possible if you put your mind to it and focus, and all three agree Pure Leverage is a fantastic tool to focus on.

It changes lives.

Admittedly, Pure Leverage is a new opportunity, but it’s based on solid foundations, and proven systems.
