Grooveshark Chrome App - Not in store?

Recently, I discovered that the Grooveshark web app wasn't in the chrome web store. I think it has something to do with a copyright lawsuit, and Google pulled the app. Don't quote me on that, but that's the rumor that I have heard surfacing as to why the app is no longer in the webstore. I have a solution.

Now don't get me wrong, it will take you a minute to install. I have created a web application, but I can not get it into the Chrome webstore because I do not own the website. Also - don't forget that Google wont allow it back into the chrome store anyway. What you can do is download my Grooveshark Chrome web app and install it yourself. Which is super easy.

What you have to do is download the application by clicking on the Grooveshark Chrome web app. That will trigger a download, which will be a zip file.

Find the zip file in your downloads folder and unzip the folder into your documents or right there in your Downloads folder. Once you have the folder unzipped you can install it to your Chrome browser as a web application. Go ahead and open up your Chrome web browser and click on the wrench.

Once you get the wrench open you will need to then click on the tools and then on Extensions. I would capture the screen and show you guys, but for some reason I can't. You should be able to easily find it thought.

Now that you are in the extensions menu you will need to click on the + button on the right side to expand the developer menu. Once you have done that you will need to load the unpacked extension by clicking on that button. Then navigate to the folder or location that you unzipped the Grooveshark app to and then upload it. That's it and you are all done. Check the screen shot below for picture directions.

Now that you are done, just open up your new tab page and click on the icon. It should be the last app icon that was installed, at the bottom. You can drag it to the top and make it more easily accessible. I hope that you could easily follow this tutorial n how to get the Grooveshark Chrome web app back on your new tab page.

Cashcrate + Chrome = Get The Web App

If you are an avid user of Cashcrate.com and you use Google Chrome then you may want to get the app. I was surfing through the store today and I cam across it. I thought that it would be a good idea to pass along the good news to all of you.

I love having this around on the New Tab page because I can easily navigate on over to the website with just 1 click of a button.

This is a pretty simple how to register a website easily guide. We are going to be talking about how to register a website easily online. I know that you don't want a long tutorial on how to register a website so I will make this as easy as possible. Follow the simple directions below and you will be well on your way to getting your website online.

Alright, first things first you will need to come up with a creative name for the website that you want to register. It can be your company name or some random name for your personal site. So as you probably guessed it, your first step will be to figure out if this website that you are registering is for personal or business use.

Decide if the website you want to register is for personal or business use.

Now that you have an idea of what you are going to be using the website for you can move forward with this easy guide to registering a website online.

You will need to pick a place to register your website online.

I always use Godaddy.com for my website provider. They have been around for over a decade and they have fine tuned the process to be quite simple. Right now if you register through the link provided or through the banner ad at the top you can get a website domain name for $7.49. A typical .com domain name goes for $11.49 so it would save you $4.

Follow the on screen steps that Godaddy.com provides.

The steps are quite simple. You will fill out the domain name register box with the name that you wanted. If the domain name that you want to register is available then click "Continue to Registration". Godaddy will try to get you to buy more products or domain names on the next screen. If you are not interested then click "No Thanks"

Next you will need to create an account with them or log into your existing account. At this point I am pretty sure that you do not have an account with Godaddy because you probably wouldn't be reading this if you did. Once you create your account select your payment method and you are pretty much done.

Google CEO Being Replaced?

Has anybody else seen this recently? Larry Page one of the co-founders of the giant company of Google is apparently going to take over the every day operations of the company. The new CEO isn't new news due to the fact that he was there from the beginning.

There isn't much to say about this topic yet, other than the fact that Eric Schmidt is going to be replaced by the original co-founder of Google. There is no real speculation as to the main reason why this is going to take place, but it is. Does anybody else think that the reason why is due to the last part 2010 the Google earnings that were steadily dropping?

Are you asking, "When is the CEO swap going to take place?" From the sounds of it the Google CEO will be replaced at the beginning of April, matter of fact April 4th of 2011 to be exact. What is the next step for the good old boy Eric Schmidt?

There is rumor floating around on the net that Eric Schmidt will take over as Executive Chairman. What are your thoughts on this guys and gals? Do you think that this is a positive move forward or a negative move backward? Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

The Best FREE Android App EVER

So you want to know what the best Android app ever is? Well that part is easy, but before I tell you what is the best application in the Android market first let me tell you that this is just my total opinion. If you are still curious as to what I think is the BEST application for your Android phone is then keep reading.

Now I personally believe that if you have a phone or tablet that is running any version of Android you should download the app Lookout Mobile Security. This application is a blessing from above and it has saved me and my friends from making insurance claims on more than one occasion.

I have lost my phone in my couch numerous times. I am pretty sure that everyone has at some point in time. Matter of fact, I think couches have a built in remote, change, and phone eating mechanism. Maybe I went out on a limb with that last statement, but I choose to believe it as fact until proven otherwise.

Now the reason that I like Lookout so much is that it is free. You can choose to get the "premium" upgraded version to get more options, but the free version of the application works out just fine. So back to when my couch ate my phone... I simply logged into my account over the Internet and made sure, via GPS, that it was indeed in my house. Then I clicked on the button to "Make it scream", and boy did it ever scream.

The "Make It Scream" button makes your phone awake from silent or vibrate and start to scream a police siren. This feature is pretty spiffy if you ask me. Another incident where the phone was lost was at a hockey game. My friend left it in the seat and we made it all the way to his house before he realized that he didn't have his phone.

In the midst of him freaking out over not having his precious Android I had logged into the Lookout website and found out it was still at the stadium. So I clicked "Make It Scream" and then we jumped in the car. Once we got back to the stadium we walked in and the security guard started for us. I got on my phone and asked his daughter, who was back at the house still, to make it scream again. The security guard that was walking forward to deny us access to the stadium about jumped out of his boots. He pulled the phone from his pocket and looked very frustrated. My buddy walked forward with his hand out and said, "I think you have been expecting us".

That was the end of that whole mess. The security guard didn't ask any identifying questions or anything. He just wanted away from that screaming device as fast and as soon as possible. My buddy thanked him and we got on our merry little way back to his house. Apparently, according to the guard, the phone's siren echoed off of the stadium walls and was pretty easy to locate. He said he tried to shut it off, but he couldn't figure it out.

The reason that I am writing this article today and claiming Lookout Mobile Security to be the best app on the Android Market is because we had to use it again today. My friend's daughter had her phone stolen at school and she called her Dad from the school's pay phone. He got on the Internet and made it scream. The kid that had stolen the device ditched the phone on top of some lockers and a random teacher picked it up. She just now sent him a text that said "Thanks, Dad. I just got my phone back!"

This makes me happy enough to finally write about it for you guys and gals. Swype Keyboard For Your Android

Did you ever use T9? Did you like it? Did it make things faster for you? Well to answer my own questions, Yes I did use T9, I loved it, and it made my texting so much faster. If you are anything like me then you would love to know about Swype the new T9.

This article is going to be short but sweet. Swype was created by the same guys that made T9. So you can imagine how fast and effective it really is. The concept is quite simple. You drag your finger across the on screen keyboard and only lift it once you are done with the word. Swype will input the word that it thinks you wrote on the screen and then you can just start swyping again without having to put in the spaces.

If Swype's algorithm gets the word wrong you can double tap it to highlight it and click on the Swype symbol at the bottom left. Then you can choose your correct word form the list that pops up over the wrong word. Not only does this save you time, but in the future Swype will get it right the first time. That's right folks, Swype learns from you and your previous entries.

Gizmo5 + Google Voice + Android + Wifi = Free Phone

Hey guys, I know it has been some time since my last update. I have been working on quite a few improvements on other websites, and have been trying to utilize a free phone through a WIFI connection. Let me tell you how I have a free land-line / cellphone through the means discussed below.

If you have followed this blog in the past then you would probably know about Gimzo5. This company was going to be as big as Skype in the V.O.I.P. industry. If you do not know about Skype then you should probably just go ahead and Google it. V.O.I.P. stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol and it just a fancy way to say voice calls made through the Internet.

In the past the main problem with V.O.I.P. is that it had poor reception and the users were limited to their computers and large microphones. Things have changed quite a bit in the recent times. Now we have devices that can get WIFI signals practically everywhere. We have small devices that tell us everything from the weather, emails, phone calls, and other important updates in our lives.

So I am here to tell you guys what you will need to be able to get free calls via the Internet routed to your Android device:

The first thing that you need to have is access to WIFI Internet.
Secondly, you will need a Gizmo5 account. (If you already have one then good for you, if not you can visit the website here and request an invite. Google has recently froze all sign-ups, but you can always put your name on the list.)
You will need to download SipDroid and Gvoice Callback from the app market on your Android device.
Lastly, you will need to have signed up for a Google Voice account. (You can click here to sign up for your free Google Voice account.)

If you have all of these things in order you can proceed to get free calls via the Internet.

How to setup your Android device:

Run the SipDroid app and input your information under settings. Click on Sip account and then input your Gizmo5 information here.

Authorization Username will be your Gizmo5 number assigned to your account. (Should start with a 1747XXXXXXX) The password is your password associated with your account, and the last thing you will need to modify is the Server or Proxy section: Enter the server address as proxy01.sipphone.com.
The next step is to run the GVoice Callback app on your phone as well. Sign in with your Google Voice credentials. That step is pretty easy.
Sign into Google Voice on the computer and click settings. Under the phones section add your new Gizmo5 account and click save.
That's all folks. Go to your dialer, click to call your favorite contact, and watch the magic happen.

Are you sitting there asking yourself, "how does this work?"

The concept is actually pretty easy to understand once you know that Gizmo5 can receive free inbound calls. Google voice calls your phone and then once you answer it will then route/call the other line you wanted to call first, but it displays your Google number instead of your regular cellular number. So between the two apps and a WIFI connection you place a call, Google calls you back, Gizmo5 accepts the new inbound call, and then Google dials out to the party you are trying to reach.

I hope that this little write up helps you guys and gals to get free calling on your phones. I know that college students with an Android device and free WIFI on their campus' are going to be excited as much as I was when I first discovered this little work around.

New Google Search Results Page | Changed Google Layout

What do you guys think of the new layout on the Google website? I like the larger buttons and added functionality that they decided to move forward with. The box is more square and clean lined and the actual logo is much more crisp. Haven't a clue what I am talking about? Check out my video below to see the new layout look...

The search results are indented into the page from the left about one inch or so. The indent was necessary to include the refined search results that are displayed. You will notice that the right side is still the regular old sponsored listings, and nothing really changed much there.

In the refined search results pages you can select "shopping" results and bring them forward in the search or drop 'em to the back few pages of the listings. The new layout is supposed to be more user friendly and helpful, however many Googlers are quite upset with the new look. Some are even comparing the new layout to Yahoo by saying that Google is cluttering up their web portal.

There is a thread in the Google forums that is going pretty strong with many people debating the new look and functionality of the Google search layout change. SendTo A Google Chrome Extension

Just two questions for you to think about as you read through this article. First, when you see something of interest to you on the internet what do you do? Most people typically socially bookmark the things that are of interest to them on the net. Second, do you currently use the internet browser Google Chrome or do you plan to in the near future? The reason I ask these questions is because there is a pretty nifty new bookmark extension called SendTo. The logo looks like a paper airplane once installed, and the application does pretty much what the icon represents.

Want an example of how to use it SendTo the chrome extension? (In this example you already have installed the SendTo extension.) Alright, let's say that you are looking at this article and you decide that it helped you to discover new things about Google Chrome. Since it was an easy read you decide to share it with your friends and family by clicking on the paper airplane logo (SendTo). The logo is at the top of the screen by your address bar. Next you have to decide on how you want to share this article. Some options available to you are sending the link through your email, displaying it publicly in your social bookmarks, or even printing off just the parts you want.

You will notice that there are five main categories to this Google Chrome extension. You are able to share through messaging services, social networks, bookmarks, blogs and news websites, and through other means of communication and sharing.

I have to admit that I find myself using the SendTo Chrome extension every single day. On top of the fact that I use it daily since I have installed it, but I also use it repeatedly through out the day. There is only one or two extensions that I could say that I use more. (I cant tell you in this extension review though, sorry guys!)

FlashPlus A Google Chrome Extension

Have you ever wanted to manipulate or change the flash video on a website? Sometimes these websites have annoying backgrounds that prove to be a distraction from the video you are watching, and generally there is nothing that can be done about it. Well, there used to be nothing that could be done about it...

If you use Google Chrome and are a fan of installing extensions then check out FlashPlus. This extension helps users to customize videos or flash players to the fullest. You can make a flash game online that is only the size of a deck of cards become full screen. Youtube videos can be taken out of their placement on the page and put anywhere you want it to be. You can also block any annoying or unwanted flash banner ads on any website.

If you are anything like me then you use multiple tabs and have multiple windows open while you are surfing the internet. I use the Chrome extension FlashPlus to resize my flash videos or games into a corner of my screen so that I can multi-task. If I am watching a tutorial on how to do something I can watch it and do what I need to do at the same time. Using FlashPlush this way will totally eliminate unnecessary flipping back and forth between tabs or windows to learn how to do something. (I hated that part when I was learning graphic design information.) This extension is great for people who go to college online!

There are four main uses of this Google Chrome extension:

Harness the ability to block all the annoying flash banner popups that distract you from what you were doing.
Drag or resize flash files and movies on any website webpage.
Black out the rest of the website around the flash video. If the background to the website is distracting you from your flash video or flash game then simply black it out of view.
Resize the video to full screen or smaller. Some websites do not offer the ability to resize the video or game that you are about to view. With FlashPlus you will be able to move, change, block, and distort the flash on the webpage in any way you see necessary to enhance your viewing experience.

Cooliris A Google Chrome Extension

I would have to say that Cooliris is one of the coolest looking Google Chrome extensions that I have come across. The developer's concept is that people want one infinite space or place to view the media on the web. Cooliris utilizes a wall that is similar to what a merger of FaceBook and Searchme would look like, but with a pretty cool 3D format.

Cooliris comes with many pre-installed channels that puts over 1.5 million TV episodes, movies and other titles from all over the internet at your fingertips. You can enjoy scrolling through the videos or images on the wall, and if you wanted click to preview them right on the spot. If you do not want to watch them through Cooliris website then you can always click the pop out button and watch them on the original website they were uploaded to.

The user interface is something that is in it's own custom market as of right now. There are not many websites that utilize visual stimulation the way that Cooliris does with this Chrome extension.

You can set the Chrome extension to become your startup page or just have it as is. You can view Cooliris on your mobile device and there is even downloadable software for your desktop computer. If you have a blog or website you will be able to integrate Cooliris into your content with the plugins that are readily available.

You can even shop through the application, and I have to say that the 3D wall sure does make it pretty easy. I felt like I was flipping through a magazine of many stores instead of just browsing through one online store.

Recently, Google released a web browser called Google Chrome. This web browser is still being tested and improved. With each day that passes a new application gets developed for the browser. Some of you reading this article have already installed Google Chrome and know all about the extensions. Some of you may have Google Chrome, but have no idea which extensions are good to use and which ones to avoid. The rest of you reading this either did not know about Chrome or just did not care to check it out yet.

What is a Google Chrome Extension?
Google Chrome extensions are the exact same thing as Firefox or Internet Explorer Add-ons. An Add-on is something extra that you wanted incorporated into the browser that you use. There are thousands of different extensions or add-ons that can be installed with each internet browser. Google Chrome extensions are just indivudual applicaions that run from your browser for easy accesibility or funtionality.

Why you need to know about these extensions:
Due to the fact that so many people are now trying to develop their own extension for Google Chrome, there has been a surge in new applications. This can be good and bad but all-in-all, the good applications or extensions outweigh the bad ones.

If you follow my website you will notice that I usually have lengthy articles with very detailed information about the topic of discussion. I want to inform my readers that I will be adding a Google Chrome Extensions category to this website for easy access to the best Google Chrome Extensions, that I have discovered on the internet. I will be updating this category weekly. However, the articles posted will not be as long as the rest of the content, like you are use to.

In order to write about these extensions, I will be testing out them all personally. The good ones, the bad ones, and even the ugly Google Chrome Extensions will be thoroughly tested on my computers before I post any information about them. Generally, I am a an optimistic guy and will not post about negative things on this website. Due to this being my nature and writing style - I will only be posting the applications that actually work well with the new Google browser.

Well my logic is that generally with the open source ways of the world, if something is not good now - it will or can be in the near future. In my eyes, the application or Chrome extensions may not be up to par for a mention on my website today, but that can easily change with a few updates from the developers.

Google Goggles - Visual Search Engine

When you surf the web, you typically search via text. You may even sometimes search by voice commands. Well, leave it to the search engine giant Google to change the way that people use the internet, again.

Google Goggles uses your camera phone and the pictures you take to search the web. As of right now, the visual search option is only available to Android enabled devices. However, the visual search service may become available to any phone with a camera, in the near future. I foresee the ability to upload photos from your home computer and have the Google's search bot cross reference the image with whatever it may be.

Google Goggles is a brand new search concept that is still being developed. Right now the search technology is in it's infancy, but eventually, it will become the next wave of search engine evolution. Due to being new in the search market, Google Goggles will only work with a select few things. Look below for some examples of ways that a person could use the visual search service.

Landmark: Have you ever been lost in another country or maybe even in your own? Regardless of where you are, you notice a landmark and take a snapshot of the location with your phone. Google Goggles will analyze the photo with their satellite imagery and your phone's GPS to find out exactly where you standing. With another Google product, called Maps, a user is able to use their Landmark photo and then get directions to or from it. A user could even use Google Goggles to do a search around that specified area to find local entertainment, stores, restaurants, or anything else.

Book: For instance, you are at the library or a friend's house, and you notice a book cover that catches your attention. Since you want to check out more information about this particular book, you decide to take a snapshot of it for later use. Then, you realize that you already have Google Goggles installed on your mobile device, so you decide to use the service. With the Goggles you are able to locate information about the book such as reader reviews, purchase information, and release date. You can even check to see if it was ever a best seller or possibly find other books related to the topic.

Contact Information: I personally love the concept of using Google Goggles to take a snapshot of a business card. Some of you may be thinking - "I already take snap shots of business cards so I can recall the information later." If you currently are taking snapshots of your collegues businesscards then you have been a step ahead of the game.

With Google Goggles you will be able to take a photo of a business card and upload all the contact information onto your phone or mobile device without having to enter it yourself. What I mean is that, you will no longer have to collect business cards from people you meet. You could simply take a photo of the card and all the info that is on that card will be imported into your contacts. You are able to call that person's cell, office, or even send out an email, moments after taking the photo. (Personally, this would save me quite a bit of time from punching in their name, number, address, email address, and etc.)

Artwork: To be honest, I am horrible with remembering artwork titles and the artist that created them. For this example I am going to place you at a local garage sale. Let's say that you are rummaging around through another person's stuff looking for your treasure. You find a beautiful painting that looks old and has been tossed aside. You decide to cross reference it with Google's database by taking a snap shot. Once you take that picture you find out directly from Google that the artwork, in front of you, is actually worth more than the seller is asking. You would know the title of the painting, when it was created, and who created it. I would think that this type of information would come in handy when you are searching for hidden gems.

Places: Again, I am amazed by how much you could potentially do with a camera phone and Google software. So, in this scenario, you are on vacation in San Diego, California. Since you do not live in this part of the country, you are not familiar with the stores and what they sell. Let's say that you are standing on the sidewalk and decide to get out your camera phone or mobile device and point the camera at a few stores.

When you cross over a store front a little icon pops up in your camera that has the store information right there for you. You do not even have to take a snapshot of the place, but you do have to get it in the camera angle. You can find out store reviews, available products, average costs, and contact details. This is pretty handy since you never had to step foot into the store but found out that it was an adult shop called "My Candies". (Imagine if you didn't have Google Goggles and you hauled your kids into the store to get them candy... That could be an awkward moment.)

Wine: Although I do not drink wine often, I know other people that would use the Wine feature of Google's Goggles. If you are at a restaurant and decide to try a particular brand and decide that you like it, you could always take a photo of it. Once your photo is uploaded into Google you would be able to cross reference it with other restaurants that sell that wine. You could even pinpoint where to purchase it, find out where it is imported from, and the year it was made.

Logo: You are able to take a photo of a logo and find out more facts about that particular company. Anything that is on the web about that logo is available, in the palm of your hand without typing. As a Google Goggles user you can even take a snapshot of a product's bar code and find what store sold it, for how much, and if they still have it in stock. This could come in handy when you pull up to a stop sign and see some contracting company that you would like to call. Take your quick snapshot photo and all of the company's contact information would be uploaded into your contacts.

In the near future you may even see some radical search options: (My predictions)
Eventually a user could possibly upload an image of a friend or co-worker and do do a background check on them.What if a person could upload a picture of their neighbors into Google and find out that they are wanted in another state; wouldn't that be something to consider? Google aspires to eventually use Google Goggles to suggest a move in a chess game! The developers even suggest that in the future you would be able to take a picture of a leaf and identify the tree that it came from and where to find it.

1. Step One: Get Your Product

If you decide that affiliate marketing is not for you then I suggest that you still use Twitter for lead generation. Some things you could market would be your personal business, a friend's business services, marketing services, selling your own products, selling other people's products (affiliate marketing), or your personal website. 2. Step Two: Prepare To Sell
Write up quite a few short 140 characters or less microblogs that discuss your product or your affiliate's product. Make sure that they are simple, easy to understand, and to the point. You should put some time and thought into your microblog postings because those are your sales pitches. If you can get people to visit your link through Twitter then you are halfway to the sale. I would write at least 50 ways to sell your product and each one would be different from the last. (That's just me being thorough I suppose!)

3. Step Three: Automate Your Sales Process

The main reason that you are using this software program is so that you can automatically post your tweets while you are away doing other things.

With having your all of your pre-written tweets being automatically posted randomly through out the day you are getting better chances of a sales conversion based on volume alone. You can search the internet for ways to use Twitter for affiliate marketing and you will see many people say the simplest thing that you can do is to just get your link out there. Yeah, by simply posting your link once you are potentially getting your message in front of millions of people. The idea is to get out in the cloud (the server) as much as possible, and once you get your message out there you will start to see results. Even if you are not getting sales right away you can still use a service like Google Analytics to see where your visitors are coming from and thus adjust your sales pitch accordingly.

With Analytics you will be able to see how long people stayed on your website and how long they spent reading your site or sales pitch landing page. This type of information will allow you as a webmaster to optimize your landing pages for a better return on investment (ROI). You should be able to make money with three easy components such as Twitter, TweetAdder, and Google Analytics.

Here is an example of what I am talking about. For this example you are going to be trying to sell someone's Ebook. The author of the book is selling it for $20, and will give you $10 for each sale you bring to them. So you took the time to write up great micro posts and added them to your TweetAdder software. Now you just click the option to automatically post tweets up to the daily maximum, and that is it. As of right now you currently have automatic sales system running through the social network Twitter.

Here is how it works:

You now have up to 50 postings getting posted on Twitter each and every day. I have noticed that some of my posts bring at least 10 people to my landing pages. Out of those ten people I can usually land at least 10% to actually purchase the Ebook.

So here is how the example's Math breaks down. You auto posted 50 tweets and had 10 people click through to your website. At the end of the day you generated 500 unique visitors to your landing page or website. If you sales page is good enough you should be able to convert at least 10% who end up buying the product. You will notice that 10% of 500 is 50 people buying the Ebook at $20 a pop. You get $500 dollars that you generated on autopilot with Twitter, TweetAdder, and the Ebook referral link.

This can happen every day and you will be happy with the results as will the author of the Ebook that you are marketing. The product can be worth more or less and you can have multiple products that you are selling automatically like that. If you can setup 20 products then you could end up being totally financially free by using the Internet to generate income.

Google Voice + Gizmo5 = Last Phone You Will Ever Need

Google has recently bought up a VOIP (voice over internet protocol) company called Gizmo5. This is great news if you already have a Google Voice account. Between the two Google services and an Android powered device a person could get rid of their land line and cellular phone numbers altogether. You are probably thinking, "No more monthly phone bills? How is that possible and why didn't I know about this yet?"

Let me take a few minutes to explain everything to you. First you have to understand that Google provides just about everything for free. It is the way of the market in the open sourced world that we all know and live in today. With that being said I am going to talk about each service individually and explain how they will compliment each other once combined on an Android device. You could not know about this yet because the concept is still being developed by Google, but we should see some news this year sometime in 2010.
About Google Voice: Google Voice is an online phone message hub that also forwards your calls to you no matter where you are or what phone you are using. If you have not signed up with Google Voice yet, but have a GMail account then you should visit their website and request an invite. GV (Google Voice) has started off exactly the same way that GMail did, by invite only. If you are lucky enough to get an invite then you can choose your number by your local location or by mnemonic phrase . If you choose by your number by mnemonic phrase then you can select any word that you want and choose from the numbers that become available within your word's combination.

Once you get your number you will be able to integrate your current cellular device, landline phone, or even your work phones with your GV number. Once you have everything setup properly you will be able to take a call on any of your phones that you have programmed into the account. If you get a call on your home phone, work phone, or cellular phone then all three will ring so that you can pickup the call no matter where you are located. You can also have as many custom voice mail messages as you feel are necessary. You can setup groups that have customized voice mails they get played when a member of that group calls your number.

Google Voice also transcribes all your voice messages into text messages and then sends them to your email address. No more loosing or deleting an important text message because everything gets stored on Google's cloud servers. Here is an example as to how the storage space could come in handy. Let us say that you get a threatening voice message from your ex - you can forward the message, playback the message on any phone or computer, and you can even save the message for an eternity if you need to. No more accidental deletion of an important message on any phone that you have as long as the message gets left on your GV number.

About Gizmo5 VOIP Service: Gizmo5 is a service that is exactly like it's most popular competition, Skype. You can get a call-in phone number for your account and you can hand out to your friends, family, or even to strangers. Log in on your computer when you turn it on and if a person has your Gizmo5 number they can contact you directly on your computer. You get also get voice message service and of course you can always send and receive text messages directly from your Gizmo5 account. There really is not much that is different when you compare Skype to Gizmo - other than the obvious fact that more people use Skype. (Which has been around longer)

In Gizmo5's recent updated version the online phone company is offering video connection calls. Video calls would put you face to face with the person that you are wanting to talk to. This is an excellent feature for business conference calls, great for long distance relationships, and can even help a soldier in a different country to see their children each day. Not only did Gizmo upgrade to allow video chat, but they also have released a smartphone platform. Now you can get Gizmo5 on your smartphone, which makes things interesting if you ask me...

With a smartphone you would be able to send and receive phone calls directly on your cellular device, as long as you have a WIFI connection. So in essence you do not even need to have your cellular phone's number even activated. What I mean is that you can buy an old or slightly outdated IPhone or smart phone that has WIFI capabilities and use it for your cellular phone without paying for the phone service. You can drive to a hotel, coffee shop, or even some restaurants and use your phone right in their parking lot for free! Of course, you would be restricted to places that have WIFI access. In my city, you can get an internet connection through WIFI almost anywhere, and if you can't then all you have to do is move a block in any direction to find one. The internet will continue to grow eventually anybody anywhere will be able to log into the net with just about anything.

Android powered devices: Google has released their version of many things such as an email service, a voicemail service, a search engine, their own maps, their own browser (Google Chrome), their own operating system (Chromium), and even their own mobile platform (Android). A mobile platform is the heart and guts to smartphones these days. Your smartphone generally is running a windows mobile software version, and if not then you have an IPhone. If you follow recent technology news you would know that Google wants to release an Android powered device that has just a data only connection. This means that you can purchase the device and just get your internet turned on on the phone. (Internet only should run around $10 to $20 per month)

Alright you are officially filled in with the Google products and now I can put all the pieces of the puzzle together and you will be able to understand what I am saying. With these services working together a person could get a cellular phone with unlimited calling, unlimited text messages, unlimited voice message storage space, working GPS enabled maps, and so much more for just $10 to $20 per month.

All of America will use ATT (the company rumored to host the data plan on their network) once they back Google's move with the data only Android enabled device, and especially if they can provide internet connection for a low monthly price. Once Google integrates Gizmo5 and Google Voice a little better than a person could receive voice calls on their computer or Android device through the internet. The internet fees will be nothing in comparison to counting minutes that is standard with all major cellular phone providers.

In conclusion, if you want to get rid of your current cellular provider then this year may be the time to do so. Once Google gets all the kinks hammered out there will be a massive increase in Googlers worldwide just from the phone services they recently have offered alone. Who would have thought back in 1998 that Google would end up monopolizing the world with all their free services. (They literally have their hands in just about everything.)

Zimbio - Is it Good or Bad For Your Blog or Website?

Is Zimbio good or bad for your website? Are you worried about Zimbio effecting your website's page rank or search engine results? If you know anything about SEO you could be a little worried about all the duplicate content that is being created by the aforementioned website. I have put the website to the test and this article is a direct result of my actual findings.

To put is short Zimbio is good and bad for your website at the same time! Let me tell you why it is good and why it can be bad. I ask that you read everything in this article before you formulate your own opinions about the website of discussion. If you use Zimbio then you may already be having these questions, and if you do not use it then you will end up asking theses same scenarios eventually.

Zimbio is bad for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) if you have your blog being fed via RSS. I know that you may want to take the easy way out and just have your feed pulled from your blog or website. I did it myself, and found out the hard way that Google just doesn't like that very much. They ripped all of my webpages from their search results without thinking twice about it. I particularly worry about the search engine Google because everybody else just follows their lead. If you rank pretty high up on that search engine then you will rank pretty well with their competitors.

Why is Zimbio bad for SEO when I automatically feed my blog to it? That part is simple, but complicated at the same time. Zimbio is a pretty massive website that updates daily, and with all the other publishers submitting articles it updates almost every minute. Since that article directory is pumping out relative content that is rich in quality Google indexes it rather quickly. In short, Zimbio is bigger then your website and will get their content indexed first even if it is your content to begin with. Do you see where this is leading, and how it can potentially harm your website or blog for the search engines?

Why is that a big deal? I want my articles to get indexed by Google and to show up in the search results as soon as possible. Alright, here is why that situation is no good for your blog or site. If you know anything about SEO then you know that Google simply hates duplicate content. As a matter of fact, the search company will pick one of the duplicates and display it in the search results, exclusively. If you publish your content first and then Zimbio grabs it via your feed and gets indexed before your website does then they will get your content. That is right, even if you are the originator of the content Google will still show the first one that is indexed especially if you are a small to medium website or blog.

Why cant Google and the other search engines just look at the time stamp of my article and see that I am the originator of the content? They can, but it will take them a few months to sort through all the duplicate content and could take even longer. As of right now there are over 300 billion websites on the internet that are constantly submitting content everywhere. The googlebot has a lot of webpages to crawl so it could take them some time to find an error and then even longer to sort it out. Right now, their moto is to just display the first one indexed and not show the rest until proved otherwise.

So I know to not automatically feed my blog or site to the article directory, but is that the only reason that Zimbio is no good for SEO? So far, that is the only reason that I could find as to why you should not use the article directory for pinging your blog or website. So in other words if you submit your rewritten articles manually you will be able to use this directory for article marketing. Zimbio is a younger website that has a growing database of readers and publishers. Let's not forget to mention that the website is not as well known as some of it's competitors so it has a ton of untapped marketing potential.

What if I rewrite my articles and submit then manually? That will work so long as the content is different then the original source. Another thing that you can do is just submit a portion of the original content with a link back to the original website or blog that has the complete full article or blog post. Just like any other article directory, Zimbio, will work to your advantage and pull in some extra traffic. Do not forget that you can also build backlinks rather quickly by putting a direct link to your website or blog's URL right in the content, and you should also put one in your author bio.

In short, DO NOT feed your RSS or "ping your blog" through Zimbio because they will get credit for your content if it gets indexed first on Google. You can rewrite or submit portions of your articles manually and still be able to use the article directory.

J.mp URL Shortener Powered By Bit.ly | Super Short URLs

Do you shorten your long links through Bit.ly? If so then you may like another one of their extensions called J.mp. I would personally have to say that J.mp makes some of the shortest URLs that I have seen so far. If you use a micro blogging client, such as Twitter, you may want to check out the new shortener if you need to get a little more room out of your post.

I have been in situations where I needed to squeeze just a few more characters out of my blog update. I know that there have been many other people in that exact same situation because I read comments on websites that are asking for a shorter URL shrinker.
I know that sometimes when using a micro blogging client like Twitter your message can literally make or break the 140 character mark. That can be really irritating when you have to rewrite your blog post so that you can get it under the character limit. I have personally been on a quest to find the best URL shortener websites out there, and I even wrote an article on the ones that I have found so far.

Since that article I have found two more great link shrinking websites, and they are from two well known companies. One has already been put down onto paper and posted for my readers a day or two ago, so you may already know about it if you follow this blog. It was Google's URL shrinker called Goo.gl. The one that I am writing about today is called J.mp and it is an extension of the popular site Bit.ly. If you use link shortening websites then you should know that Bit.ly has been rising to the top with over 2 billion link clicks per month!

J.mp shortens your long links down to a simple 18 character or less URL. You have to admit that bring a long link down to something as short as 18 characters is quite impressive. You can get your links even shorter by creating a custom name for them just like you can in Bit.ly. As a matter of fact, everything about J.mp is exactly the same as the parent link shrink site.

J.mp uses the tracking service that Bit.ly provides by converting your links to Bit.ly links and then converting that link over to a J.mp URL. Do not worry - this is all done automatically and is apart of their service that the URL Shortening company provides. Everything is so short, consice, and simple that you will be amazed with the web application provided.

In summary, if you are searching for a way to get just a few more spaces then you should use J.mp the newest shortener from Bit.ly. You will still get all the benefits of the Bit.ly links, but they will be at least 2 or more characters shorter. In the world of micro messaging the more space you have for your content the better. J.mp will prove to be a king in the world of short links.

How To Change Your FavIcon | Custom Tab Icon Logo

Do you have a blogger blog? If so, have you been trying to figure out how to change the logo from the Blogger orange "B" that is at the top of your tabs to something else? If you do not use Blogger then do not worry because this post can still be applicable to you! All webpages are made out of a computer language called HTML, and what we will do is some minor editing to the main layout of your website or blog.

The icon that shows up in the top tabs of your window is called the FavIcon. It's sole purpose is to help people to get accustomed to your brand name or logo. These days, all search engine optimization idealist and companies are shaping around the idea of brand recognition. Brand recognition has been around for years, but on the web it is a new version of the old concept.

There will be a few things that you will need to have or know how to do before you can successfully change your Icon at the top in the tabs. If you you will need a small graphic or logo that you use to promote your brand. File hosting is going to be necessary and at least there are many free places online that you can upload your files to. You will also need to be able to get access to the HTML or XML that your website or blog is written with. This could be simple or it could be a daunting task that will prove to be a pain in your butt.

All in all the process is quite simple even if you are a novice to the world of computer languages. Do not worry yourself to death just because you have a lack of experience with this type of stuff. Just about 9 times out of 10 I find myself saying, "That wasn't so bad", because it was just that easy. Lets not forget to mention the sense of accomplishment that you feel after you complete a task that shows or proves instant results.

Here are the few steps that will be necessary in order to change your FavIcon logo for your blogger account. Please note that if you do not have a Blogger blog then do not worry. The only thing that is different for you is how you will access your HTML that is your website.

Design or find a small logo that is 16 pixels by 16 pixels. This icon is going to be super tiny, but it will show up in the browser the size that it is supposed to be. You can use PhotoShop or Gimp (a free version of PS) to create your favicon in just a few seconds. I could even possibly help you in my spare time if you write me some feedback with your request.
Upload your favicon into a photo sharing service of your choice. You can use PhotoBucket, Picasa, Flickr, your own website hosting, or any other photo sharing website that you may know of. First create an account because most website will make you before they let you use their service. Once on your homepage or dashboard click on upload and browse through your files on your computer. Once uploaded you can get access to the sharing links, and what you are looking for is a direct HTML link to your picture. I use PhotoBucket in case you were wondering.
Access the HTML file for your website or blog. If you have a Blogger account then follow these steps directly for easy installation.

First sign into your account and click on the Layout link on the dashboard.

Next you will need to click on Edit HTML and once there click on the Download Full Template link. This will backup your template just in case you mess something up during the installation of your code.

Now you can click on the Expand Widget Templates check box that is directly above all that HTML that you are seeing.

Find the head tag of your template and post the code below directly after it. Make certain that you change the direct link in the below post twice. Each one will need to be the same as your direct link that you have from your hosting website.

To easily find the head tag press the CTL and the F key at the same time. This will make a search box pop up so you can type in the ending tag of the head tag. </head>

Once it is found that word on your blog template you can press enter directly after it and then copy and paste this code below it:

Simply save your template and then you are done. Go ahead and view your blog and make sure that your logo is showing up at the top like it is supposed to. If not, just upload your old template that you saved prior to editing and start over. If you feel up to it you could just find a part of that HTML tag and edit accordingly.

Google URL Shortener | Goo.gl Your Links!

Alright world, get ready because now Google is taking on the world of URL Shortening. I have to say that this is totally amazing to me that they are able to keep expanding exponentially online the way that they have. I guess I would do the same if I ran a multibillion dollar company that has nothing better to do then to index and take over the entire internet.

As of today Google URL Shortener is not activated for broad user use. This means that if you go to the Goo.gl website to use their URL shortener then you will find out first hand that it is not currently up and running for public use. The downside to staying on top of technology is that you find out about cool features long before you get to use them! I will sit here twiddling my thumbs for another few months before Google is ready to release their product on the world. The upside, at least you get to know about it before the rest of the world by reading this today!

The official Google URL shortener website is very simple and to the point. As a matter of fact, with all the text that is on the page there are no more then 117 words total. There are three main reasons that they claim set them apart from the other link shrinker websites on the internet.

The three main points are discussed below:

Stability: The search engine is already pretty stable, but they are going to insure that your links are going to stick around for some time. Google is trying to make their URL shortener the best of the market by providing extermely long lasting stable links that are among the shortest out there.
Security: Google is developing their URL shortener to protect their users and the people who click their links from phishing and malware pages. I think that this is a great idea and I am sure that we will see more of this from other link shrinking sites soon.
Speed: Google plans to provide a fast resolution to short URLs, but I bet you already knew that. Speedy results is kind of their thing and all. Have you ever noticed that when you do a search for something that Google plops over a million pages in front of your face in less than a second or two? No wonder other search companies are straggling so far behind.

Yahoo Work From Home Kit Scam | Be Aware!

Wow really - these guys just do not give it up when it comes to the work from home scam. The Google Work From Home Package just became the Yahoo Work From Home Kit. It is amazing what people will do to scam other innocent people like yourself.

The main purpose of this article is to make people aware that the Yahoo Work From Home Kit is a total fraudulent online scam.
Discussed below are a few dead give aways as to why it is a scam, but then there is the small print in their Terms and Conditions that just seal the deal. The website that I am talking about probably popped saying that it is your city's local news or look like national news. Then it will have an "as seen on these websites" flashy banner that they use to convince you that they are legit. The main website behind all these scams is internetrichgurus.com and they use all the popular website logos to help push their scam to the public. Beware of this image because they are tricking people into thinking that they are legit.

This company claims that they will send you a package or C.D. in the mail for a small shipping fee. The shipping fee is only $2.95 at first, and then once you try to leave the page they discount the fee down to just one dollar. Hey, this sounds like a great deal to me, right? Wrong, and let me tell you why this is not a good deal. This company was in such a hurry to scam you that they didn't even finish converting their website over to Yahoo Work From Home Kit from the last scam they were pushing (Google Home Income).

Instant dead giveaways that Yahoo Work From Home Kit is a scam.

They were too lazy to finish the job. If you go to their website and look at the top of your browser for the websites title you will notice that it still says its Google Home Income. All these guys did was take out Google's logo because the search giant started to prosecute for logo infringement.
If you try to leave their webpage they will drop the price and ask if you would reconsider purchasing before you leave. Right on that "discounted price" form it states that you can get your Google Home Income kit for a dollar cheaper. Well for being a Yahoo Work From Home Kit is sure is not affiliated with Yahoo - it seems more affiliated with Google.
You can not access their main web address that is in the address bar. If you look at your address bar you will notice that the web link is a long extension off of the main URL. So I tried to take off the extension and tried to go to just the main website - which could not be found. Well sounds like they are trying to cover their tracks, and they are doing a great job at it so far.
No affiliation with Google or Yahoo disclaimer right at the bottom of the page. Yea, you read correctly - this website is trying to claim that you work for Yahoo or Google. Then as a legal disclaimer they state that they are in no way affiliated with the two companies. So if you work for Yahoo or Google wouldn't you need to be affiliated with them?

If you are graphically talented in any way then the switching of logos would be relatively easy. So this rip off artist gets sued by Google, and then switches the scam from Google's logo to Yahoo's rather quickly and got it up and running again. It is amazing how fast these guys work. Each time that there are too many complains the scammers switch the name to something else and get the scam going again.

Did you read their terms of service or their terms and conditions to their website? It is absurd because they send you a c.d. and then charge you a monthly fee of $75.00 to $100.00 each and every month. Once you sign up for the Yahoo Work From Home Kit you will be acknowledging their terms and conditions of service. This means that you basically agree that they are allowed to keep charging you month after month until you call to cancel. Everything that they accrue from you will be nonrefundable. You don't find any of this out until after the first month's bill. I know that it is going to be virtually impossible for you to get out of being charged from them. You will have to raise your voice and have a long verbal battle with that company to get them to stop billing you for nothing. The easiest way to get around this unjustified charging of your credit card if they do not cancel your account is to just cancel your card. You can also say that it was stolen and get a new one issued from your bank or creditor.

Do I really have to cancel my credit cards, what a pain in the neck?! I know that it will be a huge inconvenience to cancel your credit cards just because of some online scam, but it will save you tons of money in the long run. Yes you may have to wait a few days for a new card to come in the mail, but you can call your bank and speed up the process by getting a temporary card or at least the new numbers.

These guys are giving you a C.D. to tell you to use affiliate marketing as a means of internet income. You sign up with a product and then you resell it for the company and get a percentage. Why pay $100 a month to know this information? If you still want to pay someone you can donate a dollar to me for saving you the hassle of a scam. *Smiles*

Free Music On Google - About Musgle

If you follow this blog then you may remember a recent post about how to find free music on Google through some special search commands. Once that article was published I had received a flood of comments via my feedback button. People just were not quite understanding how to use the search commands discussed. Some of you just didn't understand where the music came from and never took it any further. Some of you guys picked up the concept of specialized search commands and are downloading free music right now. With everybody else in mind, I am here to talk about a non official Google Music search website called Musgle.

I can understand if you still need extra help in trying to understand where the music comes from. It can be hard to wrap your head around how you are getting free music online. The music that you are searching for is stored in someones online folders. These folders do not have passwords and they all got indexed by Google's search engine. This basically means that Google now knows all the best places to look for free music online. I have to say that if you do not own rights to the music then you technically should not download it. Like that has ever stopped anybody before, but I just thought that I would at least say it.

Now if you already understand where the music is stored then you may have been having problems with the actual search commands. That is why I scoured the internet in search of a web application that has the search commands already in place and just awaiting user input. What I mean is that for all the people that are looking for an even easier way to find free music on Google then they should check out a website called Musgle. It apparently is a combination of the two words Music and Google in that order. I dare you to try to say that website's name ten times as fast as you can. (If you are anything like me then you are actually trying...)

I personally put Musgle to the test by using the website and also running another tab with Google and doing the same search with my own commands. I have to say that once I did a search for a popular artist I found right away what I was searching for through both searches. You can imagine how happy I was once I found that out. (I get to blog about it to you guys!) I now lean towards using the website even though the search commands and the Musgle website brought up the exact same search results.

Look Ma - No Ads! What I mean is that the site is just a front for the keywords that were discussed in a previous article that I posted last month. (Here is that article) So you enter what you are looking for then you click search and get redirected to a Google search page that is displaying what you are looking for. Usually there are no sponsored listings due to the long and extensive search command that they use. Google matches the few keywords to ad groups that are with Adwords. So with the search command being so specific you will generally not have to worry about getting confused in all the sponsored listings.

The main positive aspect to Musgle search is that you do not have to remember all the specialized search commands to get access to the the free music on Google. Yes it was a little annoying to have to memorize the 65 character search query. I bet some of you can relate and say that it was also annoying when I was just copying and pasting back and forth from one opened tab to another. Now, with the website Musgle finding music on Google is much more simple and way easier to use.

It would be a good idea if you decided to bookmark that website so you can find it in your future searches. Right now Google officially does NOT have a music download feature. However, they do provide a way to preview music through their search results pages. I should also mention that you can only play it one time all the way through, and you can not download any songs. The second time that you listen to your song it will then be redirected to a shorter version that is usually 30 seconds long.

How To Find Your CashCrate Referrals | View Your Referrals

It is almost impossible to find where your CashCrate referrals are located. I know that because it took me some time to find them the first time I looked for my referrals. Here is the quickest way to find the referrals list for your Cashcrate account. Just copy and paste the web address below and then bookmark it for easy access in the future.

The regular or harder way to find your Cashcrate referrals is through their system. I know it would be a good idea if the website were to just put a link up on a popular page or in their navigation bar. As nice as that would be I highly doubt they will listen to me so I figured that I would tell you guys how to get to them as quick as possible.

I know that most of you will just click on that link above and bookmark it like I said before. However, some of people like to know how to get there by themselves just because they like to know those things. So I guess that I should tell you guys how to get there manually.

First things first - you have to be logged into CashCrate first before you can do anything. So if you are already logged in then you can click on your messages link in the middle of the page. It is right next to the Logout link. Once you get into your messages then you can click on new message. Now that you are in the compose message form you can click on the (View Referrals) link.
