When I come back I plan on starting a few projects, one being an iPhone/iPod touch app that I have recently been researching and brainstorming recently. So I am looking forward to that. If there are any app developers reading this and are interested in working with me on this I’d be more than happy to talk to you! Another project that I am still hoping to get online in the foreseeable future is vBulletinExpress. It’s a project thats been lying in the dustbin for a while and is just needing tidied up in areas. Myself and Gary have been talking about the project and we are positive we could get it online before I go on holiday. We’ll see how things turnout.

I thought I would do a little blog since I haven’t done one in a while. I was watching this video on Phillip De Franco’s website and I have to say the MTV Movie Awards 2009 logo caught my eye out of everything! It’s so beautiful, the typeface used is SO delish. What do you guys think? Honest opinions in the comments below please, thank you!!

Luckily I have a full directory of work on my server, but I was really looking forward to showing them most of my stuff from university. But as a whole, that really does sum up the luck I have. The worst bit about it is this. After the interview, I went back into town and straight to the Apple store. Soon as I got there I asked one of the staff for an appointment for the genius bar. Soon as he booked me in, he said “Why don’t you show me whats up with it now quickly”. So I take my Macbook out and what happens… IT TURNS ON!!!

I don’t have any luck at all. BUT on a brighter note, it’s been a great day. Really nice meeting them and lets hope this is the start of something!

I have a meeting with Graeme on Tuesday (tomorrow) so lets hope it goes well! I’ll be tweeting about it tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Every year, I tend to do a little report for myself and compare my pricelist to how the market is at the moment. Like everyone knows, the economic downturn has had a massive effect globally on everyone, so this will come in to play for my pricelist revision. However, I have considered myself pretty lucky during this recession. Work has been flowing – probably better than ever – and I am really enjoying my freelance work. So, considering this and having to compare it with the market at the moment has been quite difficult. As of right now I am still chopping and changing prices on my pricelist so nothing final has been produced yet.

I have decided that as of April 14th my pricelist will be refreshed and ready for the rest of the year ahead. This is the first time really that I have really thought about this thoroughly and I am really looking forward to it taking place. I would just like to say quickly that I wouldn’t be here blogging at the moment if it wasn’t for all of my brilliant, amazingly spectacular clients. You mean so much to me and I appreciate every single one of you who come to me for work. I love my job and love you guys, so thanks again!

So, I’m a really big James Bond fan and hadn’t yet saw the new movie Quantom of Solace until a few weeks ago when I bought it from the iTunes store. Since getting a new iPod Touch, I decided to put that on it and was watching it earlier. I took some screengrabs of some of the graphics that feature in the intro of the film. I have to say, it’s probably the most beautiful intro to a film I have ever seen! The typography, colour, animation, everything about it was so sexy! If you haven’t yet saw QOS, i’d totally recommend you do

PS- I know it’s been out forever! But, I hardly ever go to the cinema. I wish I did though, much better experience. Anyways, enjoy

So, like the title says I want to talk a little about what my plans are over the next couple of months. Recently, I have been getting some really amazing client work. Some clients that I am getting are phenomenol in terms of big brands. Right now, I am extremely happy freelancing and going to continue that up until I go away for two weeks to Zante with six of my friends (July 12th).

A New FWD Rebrand & Website

I’ve highlighted this in bold because it’s something that I have been meaning to start and get to for a few months now. Trying to juggle university with freelance work is hard enough, but one of my main objectives over the next couple of months is to get a completely new website done over at Flockey. I’m really excited about this as one of my project modules at University is to create a website from scratch, so I think this could fall into that category. So, it shouldn’t actually be that long before the redesign is done. More on this later…

Moving on. If you follow me on twitter then you’ve probably saw alot of tweets about my other project ThevBulletinExpress, that I am collaborating on with Gary Rae. We’ve been honestly trying to get this project online now for almost a year but we just keep missing deadlines and we are just so busy with client work and other things. So, in the next couple of months we hope to get back on track and get this launched with some amazing vBulletin skins for you all.

Speaking of my holiday previously, I will be absent from freelancing for two weeks from the 12th July to the 27th of July. I will be checking my emails, but not every day! When I am away I will be trying to keep track of things and whats going. Obviously, if I have client work I will do my best to get it all completed before I go away, because no one likes waiting

I am not all for massive monitors, I am a very detailed, concise person and like to work in confined spaces. So when I saw the Samsung SM226BW 22″ Widescreen LCD Monitor up close, it was far too big for my liking. What I went for was the Goodmans 19″ HD Ready TV which I bloody love! I’ve just gotten round to setting it up (unfortunately can’t hook it up with my PC at the moment as I need another cable) and it looks brilliant.

The great thing about this monitor/tv is that I will be able to use it for more or less everything. I can watch TV from it, I can link it to my PC if I ever want to work from there, I can also link it with my macbook using the DVI-VGA cable and dual screen and lastly I can sync it with my PS3 (HD aswell… YUMMY).
