Dear president,

As-salaamu ‘alaykum, wa rahmat-ullah.

I pray this brief message reaches you in the best of health and iman.

I would like to request you forward this message to your distribution lists and membership and pray you might continue to be moved to help. Your help previously has been essential and it remains vitally so at this time.

*                         *                         *                         *                         *

Dear brother/sister,

As-salaamu ‘alaykum, wa rahmat-ullah.

As you are aware it has been a week since the devastating earthquake that hit the small Caribbean island of Haiti wreaked death and destruction to its population. Over 70,000 bodies have already been buried in mass graves, yet many more lie in streets and under buildings. Over 3 million people are without food, water, shelter and fuel. Aid agencies on the ground suffered terrible casualties of their own but now the response is fully underway.

Islamic Relief’s Emergency Response Team has been on the ground throughout, its initial assessments are now complete and it is in the process of mobilising aid through IR USA and our partners in the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). The nation has responded as it traditionally does. £25 million has been raised already for the DEC Appeal, and the Muslim agencies have responded in kind with major appeals of their own. Islamic Relief, a member of the DEC, aims to raise £1 million for life-saving immediate relief and longer-term reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Permissions for collections at public locations and private premises up and down the country have been sought and obtained and we now need to mobilise volunteers to collect at train and tube stations, supermarkets, high streets and mosques. We would also encourage Islamic Societies across the country to organise events to raise funds as well as awareness for Haiti and donate their jum’s collections. We need a few sustained weeks of fundraising to give the Haitian people the opportunity to rebuild their lives in dignity.

We have been taught of the humanitarian imperative and of our duties and obligations of charity and kinship and nowhere more clearly than the oft recited verse, “and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind” [5:32] – we pray that Allah (swt) gives us the ability to understand and act upon His words and sanctions.

If you are able to volunteer please simply fill this form: http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en_GB&formkey=dHhoLVlSczRVWnAtRDB6d3NrZ2×4dGc6MA or contact Halima Hassan at Halima.Hassan@islamic-relief.org.uk or on 07545335197

We thank you for your support – Jazakum-Allahu khayran.

First of all, we are sorry are unable to provide you with any latest info on Islamic Arts as we should. We have been through a tough time and our other commitment which is much more important has left this website unattended.

Keep us going

For your information, the maintenance of the website is paid using our member account. However, we are running short in terms of contribution towards article and also fund. Today, we have just been notified that both of our domains www.isacstudio.com and www.isacstudio.co.uk will be expired soon and we would like your kindness to support us making the both domains alive.

It would cost us £10 for each domain. However, we are open with any amount that you wish to donate us. Yesterday, we went to Wikipedia and saw this:

hari-hari yang berlalu,
dirasakan terlalu sayu,
tiada daya lagi untuk berselindung.

wahai INSAN,
sampai bilakah mereka harus membendung?
derita dunia yang tiada tertanggung.

wahai INSAN,
sampai bilakah kita harus duduk termenung?
bagai menanti kesudahan yang tiada berkunjung.

wahai INSAN,
sungguh, mereka perlukan kita,
untuk terus menyokong dan menyokong,
dalam pertempuran syahid yang agung,
keramat INTIFADA terus dilaung,
biar terpaksa merangkak dalam sempitnya lorong,
demi meraih syurga yang terulung.

Contentment and happiness is actually a gift from Allah.

Its a gift. it has no condition.

You can be content and happy regardless of what your circumstances are. because it is what you feel inside.

From the world’s eye view, success, power, being rich, famous, beautiful and handsome should make any person happy and content. and being the total opposite would make any person feels miserable and all out stressed. but Islam teaches us differently. No wonder we are branded as ‘the strangers’

” Strange is the affair of a Muslim. Verily all his affairs are good for him. If something pleasing befalls him he thanks Allah and it becomes better for him. And if something harmful befalls him he is patient and it becomes better for him. And this is only for the Mu’minin. “

Yes, sounds simple enough to read, but to practice it?

It is somewhat a normal reaction for us human to be upset when something bad happens, and happy when something good happens. Very rare to find it the other way round. The reason we think we are happy is because we get what is pleasing to us, and the reason we think we are upset is because we get what is distressing to us.

Notice the word ‘think’.

But here, Allah wants to bring another paradigm into the picture. its not what you think. because of your nature as human, who has limited faculties and knowledge, you might not know for sure what you want to make you happy. It might be you think this will make you happy but actually, in the long run, it will make you miserable!

” …it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” [2:216]

But Allah did give us the capacity to work and pursue our goals and dreams. Allah commands us to try our utmost best to achieve it. And naturally, of course you would like to achieve what you worked hard for. That’s the whole point for working hard for it in the first place isn’t it?

But Allah is so Merciful towards His servants, that He only wanted to give the very best of results to His servants. Only the best. Nothing less than that. and Allah knows what would be the best for His servants, in the long run, in the bigger picture, because Allah is all Knowing, His Knowledge encompasses over every single detail.

“..and He Has the keys of the unseen, none knows it but He, and He Knows what on the land and in the sea, not a leaf falls but He Knows about it, and not a grain in the darkness (depth) of the earth nor any thing wet or dry but in a very comprehensive book (record)”. [6:59]

So the conclusion of this whole ranting?

Find happiness by strengthening your bond with Allah. It is difficult, easier said than done. But this is the only medication that works.

A sweet invitation from the Almighty to all of us.

So its worth it.

May we all find happiness in both this world and the hereafter…Ameen…
