iPiccy has been updated once again! And we are proud to announce several new features.

Multiple photo uploading and storing

For this we decided to utilize a nice Adobe Flash Player feature which allows storage of some files on your hard drives. To use most of the new features (Blender, Collages, Photo restoring) you have to give iPiccy permission to store files on your hard drive. You will be asked to enable Local Storage at the iPiccy start page.

Blender Editor

Blender is an ultimate designer tool which allows you to layer photos, add text, stickers and even create your own vector shapes. Each layer has its own properties which you can change anytime.
You can cut off objects (remove background) from image layers with a vector mask. Text, stickers and vector shapes objects have advanced coloring options with gradients which will allow you to achieve outstanding results.

Collage creator

This makes beautiful photo collages from your photos. We have added basic and advanced collage templates there – and if you have a brilliant template idea – send it to us and we’ll add it to our collages list!

General Changes

• Revised effect painting system and iPiccy performance in general ( it took us a lot of time). Now everything  should work little bit faster. But still not perfect. We will constantly improve iPiccy until it become super stable and fast. If you’ll have freezing/crushing issues – please, contact us and describe how it was.
• Effect painting button has been moved to the effect panel.
• We have slightly improved iPiccy interface visually. And added nice little feature to sliders. Now, you can click on slider numerical value and type in the exact number. After typing the new value – just press Enter (it doesn’t work in full screen mode) or click anywhere on the iPiccy working area.
• Resize tool was fixed and now should work better (thanks to Johni Louise for the great video she has created for us) . You can make photos larger.
• Wrinkle Remover also has become stronger and smarter.
• Equalize image tool got simplified controls.
• Cross Process tool gained several presets for different results (basic, red, green and blue)
• Gritty also has been modified for better output image and flexibility.
• Fiery effect become simpler with slightly different final image result.
• Liquify tool has been totally revised and now you can zoom while liquifying (thanks to Shilo Knauff who asked for that several times)

What will be the next?

Our main goal for the next update is multiple photo loading, layering and collage maker.
Also we are planning to add more tools and effects.

Are you planning to integrate Flickr into iPiccy?

Sure! We are going to integrate several external photo services into our application, and Flickr is in our first priority.

Will you add a paint brush tool (“reverse effect”) to apply effects to specific areas of the photo?

It’s already on iPiccy. After selecting any effect just click on the small button with the brush icon on the upper left corner of the working area (on the same level with Undo/Redo buttons). You can click on “Revert mask” then, in order to reverse the current effect.

What about collages, working with multiple photos and layering (with blending modes)?

You have to enable Local Storage feature inside iPiccy to upload and store multiple photos. You can layer photos, text and stickers inside our Blender tool (tab with blue layers icon). Collage editor can be opened from the Photo Library tab.

We need Facial/Touch-Up/Portrait editing tools.

We have already added several facial editing tools under “Retouch” tab (check them out now!) and will add more like Sunless Tan, Blush, Eye Color, Lip Color, Highlights, Dodge and Burn in the next updates.

Are you going to add other languages?

Yes! If you have strong grammar/style skills and are willing to help us localize iPiccy to your native language – please contact us! We will be very appreciative of any help.

Are you going to add in a Premium subscription?

In order to give you all of the cool features and tools, maintain hosting servers, and constantly improve your photo editing experience, we are planning on adding Premium subscriptions.
We’ll notify everybody when it happens, via our Facebook, Google+, Flikr and Twitter pages.

Will I be able to use iPiccy commercially?

You can use iPiccy commercially right now! No Premium or any other account type needed. However, if you include elements created by services other than iPiccy- such as Fonts – your rights are restricted to non-commercial and personal use only. If you would like to use any of the fonts for commercial use, contact the owners for permission. (links to the owners will be available inside iPiccy soon)

The [some effect name] doesn’t work right (as on Picnik).

We can’t guarantee that all of our tools will be the same as on Picnik because we have no access to the Picnik program sources and team. We will do our best to achieve the perfect results and will be constantly updating our tools. If you want to help, send us your critics about the effect (how it works so far and what result you actually expect from it. This is better with image examples and comparisons) and we’ll try to tune it!

I was unable to save my edited picture because iPiccy crashed/freezes/closed my browser.

We really need your help to fix such kinds of bugs. Please send us the following details:

• Resolution of edited photo.
• Effects (and their settings) which were applied before the problem occurred.
• How it was? (e.g. “iPiccy just freezes for 5 minutes” or “my internet browser shut down” etc.)
• Did it happened once or several times in a row?

In order to fix it we have to exactly reproduce the problem, step by step. You can also send us the link to your photo in full resolution for testing purposes (if it is appropriate for you). We will not use it anywhere else and will delete it after testing.

You can record your editing process up to the problem and send us a link to the video. Screencast-o-Matic is one of the easiest and fastest way to record your on-screen activity and publish it on the web. Your video would helps us a lot.

We are going to work on other Retouch tools (Sunless Tan, Blush, Eye Color, Lip Color, Highlights, Dodge and Burn),  Levels, Curves,  area effects (Focal B&W, Fancy Focus, Focal Soften, Focal Pixelate, Focal Zoom ), some other popular Picnik effects, multiply file loading, collage creator and layering.

We are also going to speed up some tools (which are pretty slow with big images so far).

1. Effect mask painting

Almost every adjustment, filter or photo effect can be applied to specific areas or photos with mask painting. Effect mask defines where effect will be applied and effect intensity (by changing strength of the brush).

Tip: After activating mask painter try to reverse the effect (by checking in “Reverse” check box inside mask settings panel) and paint with effect over original photo.

2. Load and save photos from/to Facebook

Load photos from your or your friends Facebook albums (which your friends share with you). You can save result picture to your Facebook account in the “Save & Share” tab.

3. Full Screen mode

Edit your photos in more comfortable way. Switch to Full-screen mode.

4. Upgraded zoom control

Intuitive zooming controls and navigator.

5. Clone photo tool

You’ve asked for Clone tool several times. Use it to clone image areas.

Watermark is a faded logo or words (author name or link to website) put over the top of original picture. The main idea of watermarking is to tell others that this image belongs to you and your special permission needed to use it anywhere. A lot of Web sites use watermarks to show that a specific picture is copyrighted, and it may not be copied and used elsewhere without the permission of the original Web site.

iPiccy allows you to place text over any image to watermark it.
