Yeastar Neogate TG200 firmware version 5.11.0.02 released IAX support added

Yeastar has released firmware version 5.11.0.02 for their Neogate TG200 GSM/UMTS gateway. New features include support for IAX protocol, addition of firewall and introduction of VPN (OpenVPN). The full details of the release are:

Atcom AG-188N ATA is end of life - New AG-198 is replacement

Atcom has announced the end of life of the AG-188N SIP / IAX ATA as of August 2011. The replacement AG-198 will be available from mid September 2011.

The AG-198 has a faster 300Mhz processor and has added support for PPPT and improved T.38 fax capabilities. The Atcom AG-198 retains support for both SIP and IAX protocols.

How to enable Video Support on Positron Telecom Appliance or Blade

Support for video codecs H263 or H264 is not enabled by default on the Positron Telecom range of business phone systems. This will need to be enabled if you intend to use the PBX's with for instance video phones or door entry phones. A step by step guide to enabling this feature is detailed below. This example is taken from a Positron G122 running the latest GUI.

Running Positron IP-PBX Appliances and Embedded Blades in High Availability Configuration

It is not widely known, but it is possible to run any of the Positron Asterisk embedded blades and appliances in high availability pairs of master and slave.

Very useful in scenarios where you need to recover quickly from a hardware failure.

The document below is specifically for the V114 embedded asterisk card, but applies equally to any of the products in the Positron range, including the appliances.

Positron Introduce Firewall to G124 Asterisk Appliance

Positron has introduced a built in firewall to the first product in their portfolio, the 4 port FXO G124 Asterisk appliance.

For those using internet based voip services, this is a welcome feature in ensuring only authorised access to the pbx.

Screen shots below show the GUI interface for configuring the firewall, although like most features within the Positron's, there is also a command line configuration should this be prefered.
