Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan’s design career has ended after a single collection for Parisian label Emanuel Ungaro, leaving the fashion world divided over whether her work was a disaster or a much-needed bit of fun.

Ungaro designer Estrella Archs, who worked with Lohan on last year’s widely panned show of buttock-revealing dresses and strippers’ nipple stickers, showed her second Ungaro collection on Monday. She said Lohan had no hand in it.

“You have up and downs and you learn a lot, more from the downs than from the ups,” Archs told reporters backstage when asked about the dire reviews of last year’s show with Lohan, who acted as artistic adviser.

“I feel that I have to work, work, work and work … I’ve been doing this for a long time, with different people and different houses, and I think this is the best medicine,” said Archs, looking close to tears.

Their joint collection has just hit the shops, but Lohan has gone back to buying rather than producing fashion — she was seen at Roberto Cavalli in Milan, and was invited to Dior in Paris on Friday, though she came late and missed the show.

Archs, with no entertainment career to fall back on, has stuck with Ungaro, turning out an autumn/winter collection of jewel-colored dresses, bustier tops and leopard print trousers.

She can take heart at the fact that retailers have, on the whole, been less vitriolic than critics.

Online boutique net-a-porter.com dropped Ungaro after Lohan’s debut, but others have been positive.

“I loved the little short silk dresses that Lindsay and Estrella designed, there were great colors, it was fun, short, sexy,” Stephanie Solomon, fashion director at Bloomingdale’s, told Reuters at the Ungaro show.

“I’ve been doing this long enough to understand it’s not necessarily the press reaction. Ultimately, it’s the customers’ reaction,” said Solomon, who ordered from Lohan’s collection.

She predicted that Lohan’s style would attract a younger crowd — which was the reason why Ungaro originally hired the actress who is also a model and singer.

Mounir Moufarrige, chief executive at the time, had hoped the star of “Mean Girls” would revive the brand. Moufarrige resigned in December, weeks after Lohan’s show. source

While speaking to inquisitive reporters at the Independent Spirit Awards on Friday night, the singer revealed that “something special” is about to happen in her life.

Carey, who attended the award show to support her film ‘Precious,” has been dodging baby rumors for months now.

The 39-year-old diva said that she was “talking to a director about three movies.”

She then teasingly added, “There’s also something special on the way. I can’t say any more,” reports the U.K.’s Mirror.

While at Sunday night’s Academy Awards, the singer fueled tabloid fodder by looking even more curvaceous than usual in a blue Valentino gown.

According to HollywoodLife.com, Carey passed on alcohol at the awards show, opting to drink water all night instead.

Though many are speculating Carey and Cannon are expecting, the singer’s rep told Gossip Cop that there is “no truth” to the rumors. Yet.

After giving birth, I never brushed my hair, my teeth or took a shower. I looked in the mirror one day and was really depressed. I thought, “Look at me!” I had this glamorous life in L.A., and now [in Indianapolis] I didn’t.

How she got through it:
Being busy with the show, writing a book and taking time to work out again. And Hank has been great. I’m thankful he’s in my life. Both Hanks!

On Hank’s role in the house:
I’ve heard of so many men who don’t really take care of the baby — it’s always the woman who does it. I feel for those women! I’m so lucky to have found a man like Hank. He puts in the 50 percent. It takes two to raise a child, and he realizes that. He wants to make sure our son knows he has a dad — unlike me. I had zero dad growing up, so it’s important for me, as well, to see that our son has a dad.

On breastfeeding:
Before I gave birth to my son, I said, “I’m not going to breastfeed. That’s something that I don’t really want to do.” But since I gave birth I loved it. It just happened so naturally, and he was so easy with it. Hank Jr. loved it, and I loved it. It just felt like I could shove it in people’s faces like, “Ha! I am the only one who can do this!” I felt that special bond with him that nobody else could have. There’s always the question, “Can you breast-feed with implants?” but I’ve been doing it and it has gone very well!”

Did Barbara Walters ruin Ricky Martin’s career? She seems to think so. The veteran newswoman spoke with The Toronto Star about her 2000 interview with the Latino pop star. She now feels her line of questioning about his sexuality was “inappropriate.”

“In 2000, I pushed Ricky Martin very hard to admit if he was gay or not, and the way he refused to do it made everyone decide that he was,” Walters said. “A lot of people say that destroyed his career, and when I think back on it now I feel it was an inappropriate question.”

During the interview, Walters asks Martin what Gloria Estefan meant when she told him, “enjoy your sexuality,” and then goes so far as to ask him how exactly he is “enjoying it.” An awkward Martin replies, “I live la vida loca!”

But the 80-year-old journalist couldn’t crack Martin who, now age 38, has yet to speak out about whether or not he is gay.

He has fathered twin sons through a surrogate mother, but has never publicly confirmed the existence of any romantic partners in his life.

Though his career in the United States has fizzled out for now, he is still a superstar in Latin America.

Ben Roethlisberger has been asked to fork over a DNA sample to cops as part of the investigation into accusations that the NFL star sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman. The Milledgeville Police Department claim they made the request to Ben’s legal team and believe Roethlisberger will comply.

Ben’s lawyer has already stated that his client is “innocent of any crime.”

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has already spoken to police about the alleged incident at the Capital City nightclub in Georgia — but cops say they want to speak with him again sometime this week. source

Lindsay Lohan is suing the financial company E-Trade, insisting that a boyfriend-stealing, “milkaholic” baby in its latest commercial — who happens to be named Lindsay — was modeled after her. And she wants $100 million for her pain and suffering, The Post has learned.

The actress filed a lawsuit yesterday in Nassau County Supreme Court over the commercial that debuted during the Super Bowl this year. The ad — part of a series starring babies who play the stock market — features a boy apologizing to his girlfriend via video chat for not calling her the night before. ”And that milkaholic Lindsay wasn’t over?” the baby girl asks him suspiciously.
“Lindsay?” the boy replies, just before a baby girl sticks her head into the frame and slurs, “Milk-a-what?”
Lohan’s lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, said the actress has the same single-name recognition as Oprah or Madonna.
“Many celebrities are known by one name only, and E-Trade is using that knowledge to profit,” Ovadia said.
“They used the name Lindsay,” Ovadia said. “They’re using her name as a parody of her life. Why didn’t they use the name Susan? This is a subliminal message. Everybody’s talking about it and saying it’s Lindsay Lohan.”
Ovadia wants an injunction to force the spot off the air, and the Lindsay camp wants every last copy of the commercial. source

Brace yourself, America: Madonna is preparing to dress your daughters.

The platinum-selling platinum blond and her own daughter, Lourdes, collaborated on a fashion line for teenage girls that debuts this August exclusively at Macy’s. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer – known as much for her outrageous fashion sense as her nine Grammy Awards – will roll out the line just in time for back-to-school shopping.

Don’t expect bullet bras or leather bustiers. The “Material Girl” collection – clothing, footwear, handbags and jewelry – will initially be available only at 200 Macy’s stores and online.
According to a news release, Lourdes, 13, helped her Material Mom create the fashion line in connection with Madonna’s partners at Iconix Brand Group Inc.

“We look forward to working with Madonna, Lourdes and the Iconix team,” said Jeff Gennette, Macy’s chief merchandising officer. “Madonna is a fashion icon who can bring a new dimension to our juniors customer.”

Under the deal with Macy’s, the retail giant can launch additional brands with Madonna and Iconix.

Prices on the “Material Girl” line will range from $12 to $40, with plans already in place to introduce perfume and other beauty products beginning in 2011.

Kate Gosselin’s extensions are coming out. But that doesn’t quite mean the former reality star will go back to the trademark backwards mullet that she has become best known for.

Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson told RadarOnline.com that he’s taking Gosselin’s $7,000 extensions out on Wednesday, and though she’ll have her short hair back for the day, he’s giving her a new ‘do on Thursday.

“We’ll be doing color, we’ll be doing extensions, we’ll be getting her ready for her premiere on ‘Dancing With the Stars!’” Gibson said, adding that the 34-year-old mother of eight’s new locks will include a few different shades of blond. “The extensions will last through the whole time she’s on the show.”

Gosselin has already begun rehearsing for the hit ABC show, which premieres March 22nd.

Although severing their business ties, the couple will remain married.

Montag, who made the move after her staggering 10 plastic surgeries in one day, says she has now “cleared all the negative energy in my life.” She says she’s signed on for a Ron Howard-related show businss project and a feature film comedy, and will appear on The Tonight Show next week. source

The ladies of The Real Housewives of Orange County reunited Wednesday night after the dramatic season 5 finale, which showed Tamra Barney’s marriage falling apart and Lynne Curtin’s teen daughters acting out. Host Andy Cohen didn’t waste time getting right down to the tough questions, beginning with Tamra and Simon’s doomed relationship.
TAMRA
On her controlling husband: “To constantly have to hide things and not always be honest with him because I’ve been so afraid of making him mad — I don’t want to live like that.”
On why she’s stayed in the marriage: “I knew it wasn’t going to work. I knew but I had kids … I thought, I’ve got to make it work.”
On his claim she cheated: “I didn’t cheat on him … About three years ago, when I got on the show every ex boyfriend, friend, cousin, relative that you don’t even talk to, started calling. I talked to an ex boyfriend over the course of a year off and on … I did not see him, sleep with him, date him, nothing.”
On moving on: “I got my own apartment and I moved out. It’s a tiny little apartment but it makes me happy … I’m just so excited about just being me. And now it’s just time for me to live.”

On her plastic surgery: “It was more of a business decision … because I’m in the fashion industry now with my jewelry line so I have to look good. “

Shaunie O’Neal was recently interviewed by Essence magazine and she gives us some inside information about why she left Shaq as well as addresses a few rumors. The move to Miami wasn’t good for their marriage.

Miami is a great city. It just wasn’t a great city for our marriage. I know they say L.A. has its groupies, but Miami has a different mentality. Even going to the games, the whole environment is so different. Girls are practically sitting in their bra and panties in the arena. When you’re trying to keep your husband, that’s a lot to take. It was a whole new lifestyle I wasn’t ready for. Apparently we didn’t have a strong enough foundation for Shaq to withstand that type of temptation.

Shaunie on confronting Shaq about the infidelity rumors
He would deny it sometimes, and other times he would ask, ‘You got pictures? Video? If not, don’t come at me because you have no proof.’ “He’d say, ‘Okay, you’re mad. Now what? You’re not going anywhere.

Shaunie on being accused of cheating on Shaq with her personal trainer:
I worked out at home- with my trainer, my sister, her husband and my girlfriend. I was a good girl. I wouldn’t even entertain a man flirting with me. I was that conservative. But when those rumors came out, I felt I was so small and Shaq was so big that it didn’t matter what I said; nobody was going to believe me. All I was thinking was, How could this happen to me? I had no idea how I was going to pick up the pieces. I was just done.

Shaunie on the state of her relationship with Shaq today
We are becoming friends, and it’s nice because it’s something we really lacked in our marriage. I enjoy being able to talk openly to him, and I think we both learned a lot from each other during this time.
