Twitter is one of my favorite websites on the planet.  I would say that twitter, facebook, youtube and google pretty much make me smile daily!

Twitter is a great site to market on if you know how to connect in your marketing and not be solely a broadcaster.

What i mean by that is that if you open up a twitter account and you simply post tweets about you, your website, and your products and services no one will want to listen.

Do you know how many marketing messages people see on a daily basis? it’s ridiculous!

If you use twitter for marketing like me then you need to differentiate yourself and position yourself as a leader and expert in order to even be heard among the thousands of tweets that some people see daily.

The reason that I use twitter for marketing is because the site is extremely viral.  I could tweet something and the next thing you know it could be re-tweeted by several people exposing my message to new people that I have never talked to or heard of in my life.

That is the beauty of twitter.

Twitter has what I call a “Viral Factor” that is higher than any other social media website on the planet.

Can you Re-tweet in Facbook, myspace, youtube or linkedin? Not last i checked!

And that is one of the reasons that I absolutely love twitter.

Let’s now digg into the meat of this post so that you can take away some valuable information that i have learned while spending hours upon hours on twitter and updating over 14,648 times.

Here Are some key points that you need to keep in mind when marketing in twitter.

• Don’t “Market” too much, if you post more tweets about your marketing message than 50% than you will be seen as a spammer and people will un-follow you.
• Find your target market through networking and http://search.twitter.com you need to find them in order to connect.
• Market Indirectly more often than directly marketing! what i mean by that is if someone tweets about you or your business Re-tweet their tweet to give them exposure while indirectly marketing yourself! make sense? I do this more often than marketing for myself because someone promoting me will build my brand much better than i am building it myself.
• Ask for Referrals, recommendations and people to connect with! I have connected with so many people simply by asking if they know anyone that they think that i should know.  don’t be afraid to ask!
• Continue to follow new people and interact with them! If you don’t follow new people you will not grow your network, influence and overall twitter exposure! follow new people, interact with them and help them out and you will see a fanbase grow up around you and a huge profitable network overnight if you do it right.

Take these tips and use them, I have built a large twitter network that allows me to drive targeted traffic to websites whenever i want.  Build viral exposure for my business and most importantly help people out and grow my network with new web business owners and web marketers.

A Lot of marketers will tell you that driving traffic is “Difficult” and something that you need to buy their courses to understand.

There are so many free ways to drive traffic that you could literally create your business without paying a cent for traffic generation.

Most people talk about writing articles, blogging and those general ways to drive traffic to your website.

But there are quite a few different ways to drive traffic that a lot of the top marketers use to drive lots of traffic and generate leads daily.

TrafficSwarm

TrafficSwarm is a website that allows you to surf other websites and in exchange you get “Credits” that allow you to put your website on trafficswarm which then sends you traffic.

Basically, it’s a site where you look at each others websites in order for them to look at yours!

“I will look at your website if you look at mine” Basically sums it up!

These two sites both have a free version which allows you to try them out and still benefit.

You can upgrade to pro with both trafficswarm and ListJoe but start out for free to try them out and then once you see if the traffic is converting then you can upgrade to pro and ramp that traffic up to ramp your profits up!

Get your twitter mosaic here.

Every Once in a while you come across something truly unique on the web, Something that you wish that you had thought of before “they” did and something that is extrememly innovative.

Today I came across what is called “Twittter Mosaic” while searching the web for Twitter resources that i may want to include in “Twitter Influence”

I realized that twitter mosaic was a pretty cool idea, I mean who doesn’t want to see a picture collage of all of your twitter friends right?

It is pretty simple, All you do is visit http://sxoop.com/twitter/mosaic.pl and enter your twitter username to see your collage.

You are probably wondering how they monetize this right? Good question…

As your twitter mosaic is loading they also offer you t-shirts and coffee mugs with your twitter mosaic on them! How cool is that?

I just had to blog about something unique and emerging that i saw on the web.  What a great idea for a web business!

Think outside the box and form a whole new business that anyone has ever made before!

Blog marketing is not difficult at all.  I think that beginning bloggers sometimes see blogging as “difficult” and “technical”

Blogging is easy once the design is done and you understand wordpress, typepad or blogspot or whichever platform that you are using.  I

recommend that you blog using wordpress because in the opinion of many of the best bloggers out there and mine it is the best blogging platform.  Wordpress allows you to integrate plugins unlike any other blogging platform that help your traffic and seo and ability to increase the overall effectiveness of your blog.

Alright, let’s get into blog marketing and the simple tactics and methods that many bloggers use including me to grow there blog readership and traffic.

I’m going to talk about 3 strategies that I use just to cover the basics so that you can get started and use these three synergistically to grow your blog’s traffic and readership.

Social Media blog marketing

If you aren’t active in social media sites such as facebook, twitter and linkedin yet than you definitely need to be! I think that being active in social media sites and networking with people in your business space is one of the best ways to get loyal blog readers.  If you are producing high quality content that add’s value to your marketplace then your new friends and connections that you come into contact with will subscribe to your blog and become loyal readers.

Interact with like-minded individuals in twitter, facebook and linkedin.  By connecting with people that want to grow and evolve in your business and then delivering high quality information to them through your blog you will create loyal readers over and over again.  Think about this for a second, You spend hours and hours in twitter and facebook meeting new people and networking and once in a while you tweet or post a linke to your blog to let them know that there is a new blog post about what they are interested in.  What do you think will happen?

Social Media and your blog’s positioning

The greatest thing about social media is you can duplicate this over and over again.  You create a strong relationship and network with people at the same time.  The great thing abotu social media and an established professional looking blog is that you can position yourself as an authority with a little bit of value and elbow grease.

Keep networking and meeting new people, and when you write a new blog post or create a video or do anything that would add value to your marketplace be sure to post that link in your social networking sites.

As time goes on your not only positioning yourself and your blog as an expert in your business but you are networking and building relationships with business people that could be potential partners in the future.  We all know that it is important to network and be connected and have as many connections as you can in your business and all businesses as a whole even.

So keep networking through social media and sending them to your blog.  Be sure to encourage commenting at the end of every blog post as well so that they comment and provide feedback for you.

Positioning your blog for optimal search engine exposure

Your blog is content.  The more often you deliver content on your blog the better, Update your blog frequently.  If you can post to your blog once a day even if it’s a 200 or 300 word post.  It’s a good habit to get in to post daily.  By posting frequently you will start growing your traffic from the search engines.  If you post frequently and use targeted keywords related to your business you will start to get organic search engine traffic without learning much about seo.

A couple of things that you can do in order to improve your search enigne rankings are as follows.  The first thing that you can do is link every page in your blog to one another, start with the first page and link to the second page and so on and so forth.  Then link the last page to the firstpage.  By linking all of your pages together like this you help your search engine rankings.

Another thing that you can do is add a sitemap to your blog.  Adding a sitemap helps your blog’s seo as well.  A sitemap organizes it and make’s it easier for search engines.  Wordpress has a sitemap plugin that make’s it quick and easy, I highly recommend that you use it to help with your search engine marketing.

I hope that those Seo tips can help you get more traffic and utlilize the power of the search engines to bring you more and more traffic as your blog grows in content and authority!

Blog commenting

okay! finally the last step! I know that this blog post is getting  a little long so i will keep this quick.  This concept is pretty simple but barely any bloggers use it and it is extremely undervalued! By searching out similar blogs in your space and reading them and interacting and leaving comments you leave little trails of yourself all over the internet on these other blogs.  You show your expertise and give your own advice and recommendations on other blogs and people will see that and want to learn more about you.

The great thing about leaving blog comments is that you can leave your link to your blog.  they click on your name and it take’s them straight to your blog and walla! You just leeched traffic from another blog and brougtht them to yours.  If you do this over and over again you will leave traces of you all over the web.  If you work hard at this alone you can attract readers and subscribers continuously from that one-time work.

To sum it up you want to network on social networking sites with people in your business space then post a link to your blog and your new posts every once in a while.  Spend time writing posts as often as you can, preferably everyday and use keywords that are related to your market.  Then last but not least be active in the blogsphere and comment on other blogs to leave traces of your blog all over the net.  By using just these three marketing and strategies you can grow a highly successful blog online.  Not only do you get to have an awesome blog and community but you also are networking so you develop more business partners and relationships and connections.

The definition of Seo or Search engine optimization is: Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Typically, the earlier a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines. That is wikipedia’s definition.

let’s discuss several things that you need to know about seo in order to help you get more search engine traffic!

The first thing is on page and off page factors.

On page Search engine optimization factors would be your word count, the placement of your words, word density
and the basic flow of your content “ON” your website.

Off page search engine optimization factors are things that are not on the website but on the web that would effect your website, So
for example Links to your site and the overall “buzz” of your website on the rest of the web.

The difference between the two are pretty simple, One is on page and one is off page. Kind of
self-explanatory there!

With your on page seo there are several things that you want to do.

Seo can get pretty complicated so I will just stick to the basics in this blog post and you can research
what I am talking about at a deeper level if you would like.

The first thing that you want to realize on page is that you have to use keywords that relate to your
market or website.

If you own a blog or website about weight loss or small business marketing you want to be sure to include
those keywords and keywords like them on your website.

I know you are probably thinking… Of course? why wouldn’t I?

keyword research can get pretty wide and deep. Be sure to research the types of keyords in your marketplace
so that you can target your blog post or website accordingly.

The next thing on page that you want to watch is your title tags and meta tags. This is simply the naming of a webpage
on your website or page.

You want to be sure that you have your targeted keywords in these areas so that the search engine spiders
will know exactly what your website is about!

on page factors are fairly easy.

You want to use the keywords in your title and meta tags, Use the keywords in your blog posts and say them
frequently but not too frequently that it would seem “out of place” or strange. Believe it or not the
search engines can pick up on it!

Off page seo factors are more Important than on page seo factors and they take work.

The main thing that you will want to understand about off page seo is your inbound links.

Having links pointing to your site is gold in the eyes of google, yahoo and msn. They see it as a vote
that your site is awesome and that people like it so they are linking to you. There are 3 types of Inbound links
the first one is…

1. One way links- These are the type of links that random website owners will link to you and you may not
even know it. These are the best links because google see’s that you are not exchanging links and they see
that you are genuinely liked and appreciated by other people online.

2. Reciprocal links- Reciprocal links are links that two website owners will swap. Basically I link to your website
and you link to my website. It’s the classic I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine. This link is beneficial but
not as beneficial as a one way link.

3. 3 way links- This way is pretty simple to Reciprocal links but it’s just another person added into the mix. Basically
Site A links to Site B and site B Links to Site C and site C links back to Site A. Does that make sense?
Just picture a triangle with A, B, and C all linking to the next alphabetical letter!

Incoming links to your website are important. Probably the most important factor for off page seo.

If you can get your on page factors correct and keep building links to your site and keep updating the
content frequently you will be on your way to a constant increase in traffic to your website!

that’s how the internet works! It’s a popularity game! In this blog post I will talk about several ways to use social media marketing and blogging to be the “popular kid online”

Social Media Success come’s down to several things…

1. How well can you connect and relate to anyone you come across on the street?

This is a simple concept yet it’s overlooked all the time! Here’s how you make this work for you… Become educated in different cultures and parts of your country and world.  What do I mean? be educated slightly in a lot of subjects! for example…

• sports
• music
• movies
• travel
• different countries and cultures and customs
• the internet and popular websites and blogs (after all this is where you are hanging out!)
• video games
• books
• magazines
• cars, boats, planes
• ANYTHING!

Basically you want to have some knowledge in a broad amount of areas.  The more knowledge you have across the board the more people you will be able to connect with! it’s simple Law of averages just like sales but online.

the more you know the more people you can potentially connect with in social media… Make sense?

So gain a knowledge in these areas and more.

Targeted knowledge

A tangent from general knowledge.  Targeted knowledge is being specifically educated on your target market’s business area.

What I mean by that is this…

If you are in the carpet industry have a great knowledge of carpet, carpet laying, different brands of carpet, carpet quality and so on.

If you want to connect with like minded individuals you need to know what they know or connect with them b/c of what you know.

Target your knowledge to your business or industry or niche.  We all know we connect with “Like Minded individuals” So be “Like Minded”

What is your Social Media USP?

What is your Unique Selling Proposition in your marketplace? why would someone in your industry want to connect with you? What do you have to offer them?

your unique selling proposition is not only used to sell your clients and customers products and services but it is also important for networking and potential JV partnerships!

Think about it!

If you have a niche cornered and there is someone in your marketplace who want’s to make money in that niche… guess what? Your the go-to-guy.

When someone doesn’t want to create a new product or service they look for joint venture partners.  If you are the authority in that niche you will be the one raking in all the cash with all of your partnerships.

That’s it for this blog post!

To sum it up you basically want to have a broad knowledge so that you can connect with more people you come across in every day life and on the internet.  The second thing that you want to do is have targeted knowledge in your business space, this will allow you to connect with people in your marketplace and business arena much easier because you are considered a “like-minded individual.”

The last thing you want to do is have a social Media usp.  Have a unique selling proposition for yourself not just your businesses products and services.  You need to be able to sell yourself on the internet! So ask yourself…

What do I have to offer? why would someone in my marketplace want to work with me? how can i help people make more money or provide solutions in their life or business?

ask yourself these questions until you get the answers and you will be a social media rockstar in no time!
