I saw this one and just had to post it. This is exactly what I thought the first time I saw the commercials for Snuggie. There's another version floating around, The WTF Blanket, that is also pretty accurate on the dumbness of this invention and worth checking out.

30 Second Porn Clip Interrupts Super Bowl

Super Bowl viewers in Tucson got an eyeful yesterday towards the end of the game when a short clip from an adult movie channel interrupted Comcast's feed with full male nudity during the final moments of the game.

Officials at Comcast said about 30 seconds from Club Jenna, an adult cable television channel, were shown on the local Super Bowl telecast. The company was still working Sunday night to figure out how it happened.

Comcast had "no idea" at the time it happened how the porn may have gotten into its feed, said Kelle Maslyn, a company spokeswoman.

The Star newsroom was flooded with calls from irate viewers who said that the porn cut into the game with less than three minutes left to play, just after Arizona Cardinals player Larry Fitzgerald scored on a touchdown pass from Kurt Warner to put the team in the lead.

Callers said that the clip showed a woman unzipping a man's pants, followed by a graphic act between the two.

"I just figured it was another commercial until I looked up," said Cora King of Marana. "Then he did his little dance with everything hanging out."

Jeanene Piek said she was outraged that her granddaughter had seen the clip. "I was in a state of shock. I am totally disgusted," she said.

The Super Bowl was being shown locally on KVOA. The station sends its signal to Comcast through a fiber line, said KVOA News Director Kathleen Choal.

KVOA's signal didn't have porn on it when the station sent it over to Comcast, station president Gary Nielsen said.

The company will continue to investigate what happened to its signal, Nielsen said.

Engineers at Comcast will be working throughout the night to determine what happened, Maslyn said.

The porn broke into the standard-definition feed reaching analog TV sets. It appears the porn only reached homes in the Tucson area, but Comcast did not know exactly how many homes were affected, Maslyn said.

Once in a while you come across a website that's just plain weird...just for the sake of being weird. Things like Fear The Gay Chicken. Anyways, if you are just geeky enough to be excited about a sexy female's voive moaning your IP address, then MoanMyIP is for you. Erotic for some, I'm sure, but just messed up for most (I hope). Just imagine, "Oooone...niiiiiine...oh yeah...eiiiight....oh god!" I think you get the picture. Beware: Definitely not work safe. Besides the obvious problem of an oversexed computer expressing itself through your speakers, there is an ad with some topless women who are always somehow right in your neighborhood and ready to go.

So, recently I stumbled onto an artist names Chris Scalf (a friend of a friend). All I can say is...um...well...I'm speechless. The guy is amazing. The picture on this post is actually not a photograph. It is hand drawn by Chris in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet. While primarily a "computer-aided-artist", he also dabbles in a acrylics. New Movie Channel To Hit The Web First

Another movie channel is hitting the airwaves, but not before it premieres on the internet first. Epix is a conglomeration between MGM, Paramount Pictures, and Lions Gate Entertainment and will feature over 15,000 movies combined from the three studio catalogs. Intended to eventually become direct competition with HBO and Showtime, the new channel will make its entrance as an internet subscription-only service sometime in May of this year...five months before it hits cable and satellite outlets in October.

Senate Votes To Delay Digital TV Transition

Well, well, well. In another surprising display of government preparedness *sarcasm*, the US Senate has voted to put off the digital TV transition that was scheduled to be complete on February 17. Instead, all should be ready four months from now, but the proposal must first go to congress for final approval. Of course, this is in response to the fact that the Federal cookie jar ran out of the promised funds to give a $40 voucher to those who request it for the purchase of a digital converter box. Don't worry Grandma...The Price Is Right is still on.

Free Online Storage...Who Will Survive? Possibly, Hordit.

In the past few years, many free online storage services have come and gone. Some of today's offerings include drop.io, myBloop, and Adrive. Heck, Mozy will even give you 2 gb of free storage, and will increase your space for each referral you get to sign up and use the service. Of course, this is in the spirit of selling you on upgrades later when you realize that you're gonna fill up 2 gb with your media files pretty quick. But, how about a relative newcomer touting infinite space?

Hordit currently (and hopefully permanently) offers an all-you-can-upload pack of goodies which includes browsing and sharing other user's files. They are currently in beta, and although a few bugs are still apparent in the service, I'm sure that it will be working fine soon. Give them a try. My hopes that are with more support, they won't go they way of Xdrive. R.I.P.

Google Notebook Users, Have No Fear...Evernote Is Here!

Can we get an amen? Google Notebook worked: it was simple, effective, web-friendly, and perfectly suited to a Getting Things Done system. So when Google announced that it was going to drop the service, some users were left short-changed. Some of those disgruntled users became vocal, of course, starting a petition to save Google Notebook.

Thankfully, note-taking service Evernote has swooped in to the rescue with an easy to use Import from Google Notebook option I think I'm in love again.

Evernote is the beloved web-based, mobile, and desktop productivity and rich media note-taking system that has established a dedicated following. With the imminent demise of Google Notebook, I revisited Evernote earlier this week and liked what I saw. The desktop application syncs nicely with the iPhone app and web platform (and vice versa), making it the perfect solution for staying productive at home, in the office, and on the road.

To import your notes from Google Notebook, select a notebook, click export, choose the Atom option, and save to disk. Repeat this step for each notebook you want to import into Evernote. When youre done, login into the Evernote website, click on Settings, navigate to the bottom of the page and find the Import into Evernote section, click the link, and then select Google Notebook. Youll need to import notebooks one by one, but this also makes it easier to relocate your notes to their appropriate container.

There are some minor issues I noticed, like the fact that all imported notes list the created day as today, and theres an error if you try to upload back to back notebooks, though going through the process all over again should work (ie. Settings -> Import Options -> Google Notebook). For the most part, though, Evernote does a damn good job at helping you seamlessly transition to their service. Its time to say goodbye Google and hello Evernote!

If you're chomping at the bit for another social site to tell the world what you think about things, then youre in luck. Plinky, which launches today, provides a cute twist on content creation and status updates by providing you with smart prompts to inspire your microblogging machinations.

Plinky's prompts are in the form of a question, a request, or a challenge, and your responses incorporate rich media like playlists, photos, and maps.

For example, I was given the prompt, Name three songs you'd put on a road trip mixed tape? The response boxes provided auto-generated suggested options as I typed my answers, so typing Re brought up a list of artists with similar names and I was able to select Regina Spektor and enter the desired song title in much the same manor. Once youre answer is added, you can then add a pre-populated image or map to your entry and continue on your way.

Plinky addicts can follow people and answers, save favorites, leave comments, and of course overly promote their plinks (like tweets?) across Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr, or grab the embed code to showcase elsewhere.

One thing I love is the caustic and witty tag line, Hey, didnt you used to have a blog? But, Plinky is to microblogs as Plurk is to Twitter, a nice idea with a pretty interface but a bloated sense of self. I personally find prompts to stagnate my thought process, and prefer free form for open expression. I also believe FriendFeed to be a great place for these types of threaded topic-based conversations.

Obviously I dont get it, but that doesnt mean you wont love it. Realistically, Plinky is a site that youll grow to love the more you follow people, get comments, save favorites, and build community. I havent used the site long enough to really grasp the interactive elements, plus I didnt get Twitter two years ago, and now I love it. Of course if celebrity matters to you, Robert Scoble and Louis Gray are both there.
