This particular Phal amboinensis 'flava' 'David Lim' was discovered about 30 year ago. It has an enormous potential and a good candidate as a stud plant for crossing and hybridizing, producing green and yellow progenies. Progenies from this parentage are likely potential award winners.

The two progenies had Phal amboinensis 'flava' 'David Lim' parentage. One can easily compare the same crosses, the common Phal Ambonosa and Phal Princess Kaiulani with ordinary Phal amboinensis parent.The smallest and extremely rarest is the Phal appendiculata (flower is about 10mm in size) which was earlier thought to be extinct. It is another rare species of this genus. Ever since discovered, reported and published long time ago, not much report have been heard or seen for many decades. It is a must for orchid breeders and collectors who aspire to breed and cross Phalaenopsis species. The germination rate of this orchid is very low.

Another species is the unusual Phal speciosa varieties tetraspis in which each flower is unique and have visually very different markings despite being from the same spike. Ceramics are inert, non-metallic materials that have been subjected to heat treatment. Material used is clay that contains a huge amount of silicates. Tiles used in the residence are set in a thin plaster-like substance called grout. Tile may be bought glazed or unglazed. If it has been glazed, it will be much easier to keep tidy. In many parts of the world, window screens are an important necessity of comfortable living. On the "do-it-yourself" (DIY) scale, repairing or replacing screens is relatively easy and requires little elbow grease. The only materials required are:

Screen Repairs

If you have noticed a small hole in your window screen, less than about 3" in diameter, you can simply repair the hole. Plastic screens are difficult to patch and should probably replaced. Fiberglass screens can go either way, while metal screens are easy to patch.

Measure the hole(s) and buy ready-made patches or cut them from new screening. For small holes, the patch should have a minimum diameter at least a half-inch larger than the hole. Larger holes require a full inch extra diameter of replacement screening.

To insert the patch into the screen, unravel quite a few strands around the patch's edges. Interweave these strands with the screening and bent until the patch is held tightly in place. The stands can usually be bent by hand, but if the screening is heavier you can use long-nosed pliers. Plastic patches also require some household cement on the strand ends after they have been woven into the screen.
