Allah The Exalted warns us in Surah Nur verse 54:
Say: "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, he (Messenger Muhammad) is only responsible for the duty placed on him (i.e. to convey Allah's Message) and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance. The Messenger's duty is only to convey (the message) in a clear way (i.e. to preach in a plain way)."

The Prophet() warned:
“He who does an act which our matter (i.e. our religion) is not in agreement with, will have it rejected.” [Al Bukhari]

Alhamdulilah we are now in the month of Rabi Al Awwal. It is around this time of the year that some Muslims, in their mistaken belief, celebrate the birthday of the Noble Prophet(). This is BID'AH (Innovation)!

A certain channel on SKY TV here in the UK heavily promotes many deviant practices that have no basis in Islam. One of these is Milad-un-Nabi. What is particularly worrying is that non-Muslims who watch this channel and thinking of becoming a Muslim and entering Islam, are given the wrong impression.

The celebration of birthdays has no place in Islam and some Muslims still refuse to let go of that concept. The Prophet() warned us to not imitate the Christians and the Jews and follow him(). In fact this advice is in the following hadith:

Narrated Abu Huraira The Prophet said, "Leave me as I leave you, for the people who were before you were ruined because of their questions and their differences over their prophets. So, if I forbid you to do something, then keep away from it. And if I order you to do something, then do of it as much as you can."
[Sahih Al Bukhari, 9:391]

Narrated Abu Sa'id The Prophet( ) "Surely, you will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, in everything as one arrow resembles another, (i.e. just like them), so much so that even if they entered a hole of a sand-lizard, you would enter it."

They said, "O Allaah’s Messenger! Do you mean to say that we will follow the Jews and the Christians?"

He() replied, "Whom else?"

[Al Bukhari, Muslim]

Imaam ash-Shaafi'ee, rahimahullaah, said,

"That a servant meets Allaah with every sin except Shirk is better than meeting Him upon any of the innovated beliefs."

[Reported by Al-Baihaqee in al-I'tiqaad (p.158)]

The evidence from the Qur'an and Sunnah are many and all warn against innovative practices. Allah The Glorious has stated in Surah Al Ahzab verse 21:

“Verily in the Messenger of Allah you have the best example for him who looks unto Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.”

The Noble Prophet() said:
“Whoever obeys me, he obeys Allah, and whoever disobeys me, he disobeys Allah, and whoever obeys my ameer, he obeys me and whoever disobeys him, he disobeys me.”
[Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The Honourable Prophet() said:
“All of my followers will enter Al-Jannah except those who refuse.” They said: “O Allah's Messenger! Who will refuse?” He said: “Whoever obeys me will enter Al-Jannah and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it).”
[Reported by Al-Bukhari]

Still insistent that the birthday of the Honourable Prophet() should be celebrated??? Do not be drawn into Bid'ah(Innovation) and corrupt your Deen(religion)! The Companions(May Allah be pleased with them all) who were the best of people after the Prophets(May Allah's Peace be upon them all), DID NOT celebrate the birthday of the Noble Prophet() so why engage in something that has absolutely no basis in Islam?? We are not even close to the rank of the Companions(May Allah be pleased with them all), yet some Muslims have deviated from the correct teachings of this beautiful Deen and have turned it into something else.

Some of these Muslims will argue that celebrating Milad-un-Nabi is a long standing tradition in their families and communities. Allah says to these people in Surah Surah Al Baqarah verse 170:
"When it is said to them, ‘Follow what Allah has sent down.’ They say, ‘No! We shall follow what we found our fathers following. What! Even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance?’

Jaabir narrated the Prophet () said, "To proceed: The best speech is the Book of Allah and the best guidance and example is that of Muhammad, and the worse of all things are the newly invented things (in the religion), for every innovation is a error and a misguidance."
[Sahih Muslim]

And in Tirmidhi the extra wording is added:
"…Every innovation is a going astray and every going astray is in the fire." [AlTirmidhi]

Allah The Majestic warns in Surah An Nur verse 62:
"And let those who oppose the Messenger’s way beware, lest some conflict befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them."

Are the above verses and hadiths not sufficient evidence and a stern warning to us all? The only evidence of the Prophet() celebrating his birthday... and it is NOT what you think, read carefully before jumping to a conclusion, is found in this hadith:

Abu Qatada al-Ansari narrates in Sahih Muslim, Kitab as-siyam, that the Prophet() was asked about the fast of Monday, and he answered: "That is the day that I was born and that is the day I received the prophecy."
[Sahih Muslim]

The Sahaba (May Allah be pleased with them all) loved the Prophet() very dearly and so followed the Sunnah by fasting on a Monday and Thursday. In fact Usamah ibn Zayd narrated:

"The client of Usamah ibn Zayd narrated that he went along with Usamah to Wadi al-Qura in pursuit of his camels. He would fast on Monday and Thursday. His client said to him: Why do you fast on Monday and Thursday, while you are an old man? He said: The Prophet of Allah () used to fast on Monday and Thursday. When he was asked about it, he said: The works of the servants (of Allah) are presented (to Allah) on Monday and Thursday."
[Abu Dawood,7:2430]

If you love the Prophet(), follow his example! Shun the innovation! Fast Mondays and Thursdays for the reward is immense!

Abu Hurayrah narrated: "Rasool Allah said: 'Deeds are presented (before Allah ) on Mondays and Thursdays. I desire that my deeds be presented whilst I am fasting'".
[Tirmidhi 42:008]

So hold those decorations, cakes, get togethers, the singing and poetry and instead fear Allah, repent and follow the Sunnah of the Beloved Messenger()!

Lastly, i leave you with the advice of the Beloved Messenger() :
"Do not over praise me as the Christians over-praised the son of Mary. I am His slave so say: 'Allah's slave and messenger'

Celebrating Milad-un- nabi: BID'AH

Gary Miller – The Man Who Challenged the Quran

In 1977, Professor Gary Miller, the active Canadian preacher and mathematics and logic lecturer at Toronto University, decided to provide a great service to Christianity through exposing scientific and historical errors in the Noble Quran in such a way that would be beneficial to him and his fellow preachers in calling Muslims to Christianity. However, the result was completely to the contrary. Miller’s writings were fair and his study and comments were positive, even better than many Muslims would write about the Noble Quran. He considered the Noble Quran, as it should be and reached the conclusion that it cannot be a work of a human being.

The first surprising issue for Professor Miller was the challenging tone in many ayahs1 such as the ayahs that can be translated as “Will they not then contemplate the Quran? And if it had been from (anywhere) other than the Providence of Allah, indeed they would have found in it many difference (s).” (TMQ2 4:82) and “And in case you are suspicious (Literally: in suspicion) about what We have been sending down upon Our bondman, (i.e., the prophet. A bondman or slave is the highest title conferred by Allah upon his chosen men) then come up with a surah of like (manner), and invoke your witnesses, apart from Allah, in case you are sincere.” (TMQ 2:23) Although Professor Miller was challenging at the beginning he ended astonished at what he found.

The following are some of the points he mentioned in Miller’s lecture The Amazing Quran3 :
There is no such author who writes a book and then challenges others that this book is errorless. As for the Noble Quran, it is the other way round. It tells the reader that there are no errors in it and then challenges all people to find any, if any.

The Noble Quran does not mention the hard events in Prophet Muhammad’s (SAWS)4 personal life, such as the death of his dear wife Lady Khadijah (RA)5 , death of his daughters and sons. Strangely enough, the ayahs that were revealed as a comment on some of the setbacks proclaimed victory while those revealed at time of victory warned against arrogance and called for more sacrifices and efforts. If one writes his own autobiography, he would magnify the victories and justify the defeats. The Noble Quran did the opposite and this is consistent and logical: it was not a history of a specific period but rather a text that sets general rules for the relationship between Allah (SWT)6 and worshippers.

Miller thought about a particular ayah that can be translated as “Say, “Surely I admonish you with one (thing) only, that you rise up to Allah by twos and singly; thereafter meditate: in no way is there any madness in your Companion. Decidedly he is nothing except a constant warner to you, before (Literally: between the hands of) a strict torment.” (TMQ 34:46) He indicated the experiments one researcher had carried out at Toronto University on “Effectiveness of Collective Discussion”. The researcher had gathered different numbers of interlocutors in discussions and compared results. He discovered that the maximum efficiency of the discussion was achieved when the interlocutors were two while the more the number the less the efficiency.
There is a surah7 in the Noble Quran called Maryam (Mary) in which Lady Maryam (AS)8 is eulogized in a way not even found in the Bible. At the same time, there is no surah in the name of Lady Aisha (RA) or Lady Fatimah (RA). The name of prophet Isa (AS) (Jesus) is mentioned 25 times in the Noble Qur’an while the name of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) is mentioned only five times.
Some attackers say that devils used to dictate to Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) what to write in the Noble Quran. But the question is how could this be while it contains ayahs that can be translated as “And in no way have Ash-Shayatîn (The ever-Vicious (ones), i.e., the devils) been coming down with it; And in no way does it behoove them, And in no way are they able to do (that).” (TMQ 29:209-210) and “So when you read the Quran, then seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Shaytan (The all-vicious, i.e., the Devil).” (TMQ 16:98)

If you were in the situation of the Prophet (SAWS) while he and Abu-Bakr (RA) were inside the Cave of Hira’9 surrounded by the unbelievers who could have seen them if they had looked down. The human reaction would be to search for a back exit or some other way out or to shush in order not to be heard. However, the Prophet (SAWS) told Abu-Bakr (RA) “Grieve not; surely Allah is with us.” (TMQ 9:40). This is not the mentality of a deceiver; it is the mentality of a prophet who has the confidence that Allah (SWT) would surely take care of him.
Surat al-Masad (Palm Fibres)10 was revealed ten years before the death of Abu-Lahab, the Prophet’s (SAWS) uncle. He had ten complete years to prove that the Noble Quran was wrong. However, he did not believe or even pretend to believe. How could the Prophet (SAWS) be that confident unless he was sure that the Noble Quran was Allah’s (SWT) revelation?
Commenting on the ayah that can be translated as “That is of the tidings of the Unseen that We reveal to you; in no way did you (yourself) know it, neither your people, even before this. So (endure) patiently; surely the (fair) end is for the pious.” (TMQ: 11:49) Miller writes that none of the Scriptures uses this kind of style; that is, giving the reader the piece of information and then tells him it is new information. It is really a unique challenge. What if the people of Makkah, even by pretence, had said they knew that before? What if one scholar discovered later that this information was already known before? However, this did not happen.
Professor Miller mentioned what Contemporary Catholic Encyclopedia includes under the entry ‘Quran’. It mentions that despite the plethora of studies, theories, and attempts to attack the veracity of Quranic revelation under many pretexts none of them can be logically adopted. The Church itself did not dare to adopt any of such theories but at the same time it did not admit the truthfulness of the Muslims’ theory that the Noble Quran is, without doubt, the last heavenly revelation.

In fact, Professor Miller was fair enough and was honest enough to change his position and choose the right way. Blessed be he and those who search for truth and do not allow their prejudices to prevent them from reaching it.

Final Comment

In 1977, Professor Miller had a famous debate with Islamic preacher Ahmad Deedat. His logic was clear and his justifications seemed based on intent to reach the truth without pride or prejudice. Many wished at the time that this man would embrace Islam.

In 1978 Professor Miller embraced Islam and called himself Abdul-Ahad11 . He worked for some years at Oil and Minerals University in Saudi Arabia and then devoted his life to da’wa12 through TV programs and public lectures.

Just think and do not let your prejudices prevent you from the right path.

In no way did his wealth avail him, neither whatever he earned; He will roast at a flaming Fire, (Literally: fire comprising flame). And his wife, the constant bearer of firewood, Upon her (long) neck she will have a rope of palm-fibers.” (TMQ: 111:1-5)
11- This name literally means ‘Worshipper of the Only One.’

25 Steps To Be Closer To Allah

1. Start off each day with ‘adhkaar al-istiyqaadh’ (waking up Supplications), thanking Allah for waking up in good shape.

2. Put Allah first in your life.

3. Broaden your horizons - learn 5 new verses from the Quran every day, travel to pray far in the mosque to brighten your day,take up a booklet having supplications and read them.

4. Pray Salaat Al-dhuhaa (after sunrise).

5. If someone says something mean ;to you, just shrug it off and dismiss it in a friendly, laidback manner, and pray that Allah shall forgive them.

6. When you get angry, remember Allah, and how short and worthless life is to waste in being Angry.

7. Remember that you can never have too many friends, but you can have few quality friends that help you fulfill the purpose of your creation (i.e. live for Allah).

8. When you’re happy, try to share your happiness with others. Thank Allah for that, and pray its continuation.

9. When something bad or embarrassing happens to you, just think that it could always be worse, remember the reward of patience, and thank Allah that it’s not worse than it is.

10. Do something extra of goodness once in a while, like feeding a poor person, or caressing an orphan’s head.

11. Never stop believing that you can win Allah’s love and thus work For it. Then you can win the love of Allah’s slaves.

12. Spend some time thinking of Allah’s amazing creation.

13. Always love those who love Allah unconditionally. This way you will ensure that you live for Him, love for Him, and hate for Him (those who are enemies of Him).

14. Find the righteous ways to express yourself, and if you think that what you are about to say shall cause no benefit, maintain silence (this is tough!!).

15. Every now and then, give yourself a break. Play sports, give time to your family, friends, but always remember Allah and watch that He is watching you.

16. Pray for blessing to come to those being lost, and pray to Allah to guide them to the right path.

17. Hug your parents, kiss their hands and heads and always obey but stop at Allah’s orders.

18. Smile to everyone, for your smile makes a big difference to him or her and you are rewarded.

19. Forgive, forget and smile.

20. Tears are not for women only… tears are for all human beings with feelings remaining in them. Don’t restrain your tears when remembering Allah.

21. When people criticize your actions and effort, revise your actions and see if they please Allah or no. If they do; then ignore and remember how the Prophet (SAW) and the Sahaba were criticized, made fun of and even physically harmed, so have patience.

22. Read the Quran daily and try to have a schedule for completing it as much as you could. As you open the Quran daily, read with observing not just passing your eyes through the words.

23. Don’t let popularity go to your head, for it never lasts and you may lose from it more than gain.

24. Never look down on anybody, for, to Allah, they may be better than you.

25. Send this to all with the intention of having a healthy society living for Allah and pray.

“This is by Grace of my Lord - to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, his gratitude is for himself; and whoever is ungrateful, (it is for the loss of onlyhimself). Certainly my Lord is Rich, Bountiful.” (27:40)

Dr. Zakir Naik's View on Music in Islam

Prohibition of music is recorded in many authentic Ahadith.

Narrated Abu Malik Al-Ashari:
"The Messenger (pbuh) of Allah (SWT) said, "Some people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name, merriment will be made for them through the playing of musical instruments and the singing of lady singers. Allah will cleave the earth under them and turn others into monkeys and swines.
[Ibn Ma'jah Vol.5 Hadith No.4020]

Narrated Abu Amir or Abu Malik Al Ashari that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection." [Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol.7 Hadith No.5590]

However, there are some Ahadith which indicate that it is permissible to beat the daff i.e. the tambourine (which is open on one side and covered on the other).

Narrated Urwa on the authority of Aisha
on the days of Mina, (11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah) Abu Bakr came to her while two young girls were beating the tambourine (daff) and the Prophet was lying covered with his clothes. Abu Bakr scolded them. The Prophet uncovered his face and said to Abu Bakr, "Leave them, for these days are the days of 'Id and the days of Mina." [Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol.2 Hadith No.987]

Narrated Ar Rabi (the daughter of Muawwidh bin Afra):
After the consummation of my marriage, the Prophet came and sat on my bed as far from me as you are sitting now, and our little girls started beating the tambourines (daff) and reciting elegiac verses mourning my father, who had been killed in the battle of Badr. One of them said, among us is a Prophet who knows what will happen tomorrow. On that the Prophet said, Leave this (saying) and keep on saying the verses which you had been saying before. [Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol.7 Hadith No.5147]

Therefore from the above evidence it is concluded that the use of musical instruments in general is forbidden in Islam, with the exception of the 'Daff'.

Music usually intoxicates a person and takes one away from the path of Allah (swt). Music engages a persons mind and takes him/her away from the remembrance of his/her Creator and from realizing and focusing his/her attention on the purpose of his/her creation. In musical songs, most of the times the listeners even appreciate illogical, incorrect and blasphemous matter and content. A person will realize this when he starts pondering over the meaning of many Hindi and English songs, lyrics and ghazals. Here we find that it is because of music that the persons mind is intoxicated and the person deviates from the straight path. And Allah Knows the Best.

Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed that he was walking along the beach with Allah. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of Footprints in the sand: one belonging to him & the other to Allah. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, He looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest & saddest times in his life…..This really bothered him & he questionedAllah about it:

"Oh, Allah, you said that once I decided to follow you,

You would walk with me all the way. (In happiness & in sadness times). But I have noticed that during the most Trouble some times in my life, there is only one set of foot prints. I don't understand why…? When I needed you most, You would leave me alone….?

Allah heard the man & replied "My son, my precious child,

I love you...!! & I would never leave you alone....!!!
During your times of trial & suffering in Life, when you see only one set of footprints,

“It was then that I carried you in my arms!!!"

REMEMBER ALWAYS……

“No eye has seen, No ear had heard,

No mind has conceived……,

What Allah has prepared for those who love him….."

Miracle of the Quran - Dead Body of Pharaoh

In this world We made a curse to follow them: and on the Day of
Judgment they will be among the loathed (and despised).
(Quran 28: 36-42)

Here's the story of France with Pharaoh Ramesses. When Francisco Mitra became the president of France in 1981. France requested from the Egyptian government to host the mummy of Pharaoh. For the purpose of running laboratory and archeological examinations on the
mummy of the most notorious dictator ever lived on earth. Upon arrival, a very royal attendants were there including the French president himself and all ministers who bowed in honor for the mummy.

When the ceremony ended, the mummy was carried to a specially-designed
section at the Archeology Centre of France where it started to be tested by the greatest French archeological and anatomical scientists in order to discover more about such a great mummy. The scientists were headed by Professor Maurice Bucaille. Scientists were trying to restore the mummy while Professor Maurice was mainly concerned with how did this mummy die!

The final report of the scientists was released late at night which states that the remaining salt in the mummy is an overt evidence that it was drawn in the sea, and the body was rescued very shortly where it was immediately embalmed to be saved.

An amazing thing was still confusing Professor Maurice is that how could
this body possibly be safer than any other mummy despite being taken out of
the sea up until this time . Professor Maurice was writing his final report on what he thought would be a new discovery about saving Pharaoh's body immediately after his death and
embalming it. And there, someone whispered to him that Muslims claim to know something
about the drowning of this mummy.

Yet the Professor firmly denied such thing saying that it's impossible to discover this without the development of science and without using his high-tech and complicated laboratories and computers. To his surprise, he was told that Muslims believe in a book called
'Quran' and this Quran narrates the story of Pharaoh's drowning and ensures the safety of his body after his death as to be a Sign to mankind. The Professor couldn't believe his own ears and started to wonder:
How can a book existed 1400 years ago speak about the mummy that was only found 200 years ago, in 1898??!!
How can that be possible while the ancient Egyptian heritage was discovered only a few decades ago and no one knew about it before??!!

The Professor sat down pondering on what he was told about the book of Muslims while his Holy Book narrates only the drowning of Pharaoh without saying anything about his body.
Is it possible that this mummy in front of me is the one who was chasing
Moses??!! Is it possible that Muhammad knew this 1400 years ago??!!

The Professor couldn't sleep that night till they brought him the Old Testament where he read: 'the sea drowned Pharaoh and his army, no one else was left alive' He was surprised that the Holy Book didn't mention about the destiny of the body and that it will be saved *

When the scientists were done with the mummy, France retuned it to Egypt, but Professor Maurice couldn't rest for a moment since he was told that Muslims know about the safety of the body. So, he decided to travel and meet anatomy Muslim scientists and there he spoke about his discovery of the safety of the mummy after its death in the sea and so on. *

One of the Muslim scientists stood up and simply opened the Quran and
pointed to the Professor at one verse:

'This day shall We save you in your body, that you may be a Sign to those who come after you! But verily, many among mankind are neglectful of Our Signs'
(Quran 10:92)*

The Professor was struck when he read that and immediately stood in front of the crowd and said loudly: 'I believe in Islam, I believe in Quran'. Then he went back to France with a different face he traveled with. In France, he dedicated 10 years investigating the scientific discoveries and comparing them with the Quran and trying to come up with one scientific contradiction with the Quran. Finally he quoted one verse from the Quran to be his conclusion:

'No falsehood can approach it (this book) from before or behind it: it is
sent down by One Full of Wisdom, Worthy of all praise'
(Quran 41:42)

As a result of all years of his research, Professor Maurice wrote a book
that shook all Europe, especially the scientists there.
'Quran, Torah, Bible and Science: A Study of the Holy Books in the Light of Modern Science'

All copies were sold out at a very short time. I personally visited the Cairo Museum where the mummy is preserved and there you get astonished at the scenery of thousands of people from all over the world visiting the place everyday , unfortunately, many of the tourists there would think: 'Woow, look at that! Amazing!! So nice to see people of all times!! Without realizing the intended lesson that Allah has kept this body a Sign to all mankind of anyone who denies Allah and His messengers.

In another chapter in the Quran:

'When Moses came to them with Our clear Signs, they said: This is nothing
but sorcery faked up: never did we hear the like among our fathers of old!
Moses said: 'My Lord knows best who it is that comes with guidance from
Him and whose end will be best in the Hereafter: certain it is that the
wrong-doers will not prosper.
'Pharaoh said: 'O Chiefs! No god do I know for you but myself: therefore, O
Haman! Light me a (kiln to bake bricks) out of clay, and build me a lofty palace, that I may mount up to the god of Moses: but as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a liar!'
And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason, - he and his hosts: they thought they would not have to return to Us!
So We seized his and his hosts, and We flung them into the sea: now behold what was the end of those who did wrong!
And We made them (but) leaders inviting to the Fire; and on the Day of Judgment no help shall they find.
In this world We made a curse to follow them: and on the Day of Judgment they will be among the loathed (and despised).'
(Quran 28: 36-42)

So now,
Has not the time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and the Truth which has been revealed to them, and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors. Know you (all) that Allah gives life to the earth after its death! Already have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that you may learn wisdom.
For those who give in charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credits), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.
And those who believe in Allah and His messengers- they are the Sincere (lovers of Truth), and the Witnesses (who testify), in the eyes of their Lord: they shall have their Reward and their Light.
But those who reject Allah and deny Our Signs,- they are the companions of Hell-Fire.'

Q.:-Salam Alakum. What I understand from your lectures is that you believe the method to re-establish Khilafah is through Jihad. Can you respond to this?
Raising the awareness of the Ummah of the importance of Khilafa, educating the Muslims on politics, and searching for nusrah
Regarding the method of HT which you specifically referred to in your question, I first came in contact with HT members from Jordan in the early nineties and found them to be argumentative but well-mannered and polite. My first understanding of the Hizb was from them and they were core members of the group. HT has played an important role in raising the awareness of the Ummah to the matter of Khilafa. They also played a role in countering the false idea that politics and political awareness have nothing to do with Islam.
However the method of HT to re-establish Khilafa is simply not going to work. To wait for nusrah until it arrives is to wait for a miracle. Tribes or military generals that are supposed to give nusrah and establish the religion of Allah are not going to be won over simply by discussions. They will only be won over when they see a group of believers living by what they say and sacrifice all that they own for the sake of Allah. This is what will inspire others to join. The two success stories of powerful people giving nusrah to the religion are some of the former officers of the Iraqi baath regime who joined the insurgency and the former president of Chechnya, Dudayev, who was a high ranking officer in the Soviet army. Both these successful examples of nusra were not won over through debates, demonstrations and pamphlets but by them seeing a living example of men struggling in the path of Allah.

First Kalimah:

word of purity

There is no god except Allah.
Muhammad is His messenger.

Hadrat Zaid bin ‘Arqam (Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever says La ilaaha illal-laahu… sincerely will enter the Paradise.” It was said: And what is the [sign of] sincerity? He said: “That this kalimah stops him from those things which Allah has forbidden.”

(Tabaraani in Awsat-ul-Kabeer)

“Do you not see how Allah puts forth the likeness of a good word (kalimah tayyibah)? It is like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and whose branches reach to the sky. It brings forth its fruit in all seasons by the command of its Lord. And Allah sets forth parables for men, so that they may take heed. And the likeness of an evil word (kalimah khabeetha- a word of shirk) is like an evil tree, which is uprooted from the face of the earth, and has no stability.” (Quran XIV: 24-26)

Second Kalimah:

word of testification

I bear witness that there is no god except Allah, Who is Alone and has no partners;
And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

Third Kalimah:

word of glorification

Glory be to Allah. And praise be to Allah.
And there is no god except Allah.
And Allah is the Greatest.
And there is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, Most Great.

Ibn Mas’ood (Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “When I met Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) in the night of Mi’raaj he asked me to convey his Salaam to my Ummah and to tell them that the Paradise has a fertile soil and sweet water, and is like a vast field. And its plants are [the words above].” Another version says: “Whoever recites the words above, a tree in Paradise is planted for him for each word he says.” (Virtues of Dhikr; Tirmidhi)

Fourth Kalimah:

word of Oneness of Allah

There is no god except Allah, Who is Alone and has no partners. For Him is the Dominion and for Him is all praise. He gives life and causes death. And He is Living and will never ever die.
Owner of Majesty and Honor: In His Hands is all goodness. And He has power over all things.

Abu Hurairah (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “A person who recites: Laa ilaaha illal-laahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay-in qadeer, a hundred times daily will have reward equal to that of freeing ten slaves and one hundred good deeds will be written for him, and one hundred of his sins will be lifted from him, and for the whole day, he will remain immune from the Shaytaan until the evening, and on the Day of Judgment, no one will exceed him in merit except one who has done [these phrases] more.” (Agreed upon)

Fifth Kalimah:

word of repentance

I seek forgiveness of my Lord for every sin that I have sinned- intentionally or accidentally, in secret or in open- and I repent to Him for the sins that I am aware of, and for the sins that I am not aware of. Truly You (Oh Allah!) are the Knower of the Unseen, and the Coverer of Faults, and the Forgiver of Sins. And there is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, Most Great.

Agharr ibn Yasaar (Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “O you people! Repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness. Truly I myself offer repentance one hundred times each day.” (Muslim)

Sixth Kalimah:

word of rejection of disbelief

Oh Allah! Truly I seek refuge in You from holding any partners with You knowingly. And I see forgiveness of You for that which I am not aware of. I repent of such deeds and I clear myself from any actions of disbelief and idolatry and lying and backbiting and innovation and slander and lewdness and abomination and every type of sin. And I submit to You and I say:

There is no god except Allah;
Muhammad is His Messenger.

Valentine's Day - Should Muslims Celebrate It?

1- In Islam, the festivals are clearly defined and well established, and no additions or subtractions may be accepted. They are an essential part of our worship and there is no room for personal opinion. They have been prescribed for us by Allaah and His Messenger . Ibn Taymiyyah may Allaah have mercy on him said: "Festivals are part of the laws, clear way and religious ceremonies of which Allaah Says (what means): 'To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way' [Quran 5:48] and 'For every nation We have ordained religious ceremonies which they must follow.'" [Quran 22:67]

Like the Qiblah (the direction faced in prayer), prayer and fasting. So there is no difference between joining them in their festival and joining them in their other rituals. Agreeing with the whole festival is agreeing with disbelief. Agreeing with some of their minor issues is the same as agreeing with them in some of the branches of disbelief.

Festivals are the most distinctive things by which religions are told apart, so whoever celebrates their festivals is agreeing with the most distinctive rituals of disbelief. Undoubtedly, going along with them in their festivals may, in some cases, lead to disbelief. Dabbling in these things, at the very least, is a sin. The Prophet referred to the fact that every nation has its own festivals when he said: "Every nation has its own ‘Eed and this is our ‘Eed." [Al-Bukhaari]

Because Valentine's Day goes back to Roman times, not Islamic times, this means that it is something which belongs exclusively to the Christians, not to Islam, and the Muslims have no share and no part in it. If every nation has its own festivals, as the Prophet said: "Every nation has its ‘Eed" [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim] - then this means that every nation should be distinguished by its festivals.

If the Christians have a festival and the Jews have a festival, which belongs exclusively to them, then no Muslim should join in with them, just as he does not share their religion or their direction of prayer.

2- Celebrating Valentine's Day means resembling or imitating the pagan Romans, then the Christian People of the Book in their imitation of the Romans in something that was not part of their religion. If it is not allowed to imitate the Christians in things that really are part of their religion - but not part of our religion - then how about things which they have innovated in their religion in imitation of idol-worshippers?

Imitating non-Muslims in general -whether they are idol-worshippers or People of the Book - is Haraam (prohibited), whether that imitation is of their worship - which is the most serious form - or of their customs and behavior. This is indicated by the Quran, Sunnah and Ijmaa' (scholarly consensus):

(i) From the Quran: Allaah Says (what means): "And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. It is they for whom there is an awful torment." [Quran 3:105]

(ii) From the Sunnah: the Prophet said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them." [Abu Daawood]

Ibn Taymiyyah may Allaah have mercy on him said: "This Hadeeth (narration) at the very least indicates that it is Haraam to imitate them, although the apparent meaning implies that the one who imitates them is non-Muslim, as Allaah Says (what means): 'And if any amongst you takes them friends (and helpers), then surely, he is one of them' [Quran 5:5]."

(iii) With regard to Ijmaa', Ibn Taymiyyah narrated that there was agreement that it is Haraam to imitate non-Muslims in their festivals at the time of the Prophet’s Companions and Ibn Al-Qayyim narrated that there was scholarly consensus on this point.

3- The love referred to in this festival ever since the Christians revived it is romantic love outside the framework of marriage. The result of that is the spread of fornication and immorality. Hence, the Christian clergy opposed it at some stage and abolished it, then it came back again.

Some people may wonder, and say: “You mean to deprive us of love, but in this day and age we express our feelings and emotions - what is so wrong with that?”

We say:

Firstly: It is a mistake to confuse what they call the day with what the real intentions are behind it. The love referred to on this day is romantic love, taking mistresses and lovers, boyfriends and girlfriends. It is known to be a day of promiscuity and sex for them, with no restraints or restrictions… They are not talking of pure love between a man and his wife or a woman and her husband, or at least they do not distinguish between the legitimate love in the relationship between husband and wife, and the forbidden love of mistresses and lovers. This festival for them is a means for everyone to express love.

Secondly: Expression of feelings and emotions is not a justification for the Muslim to allocate a day for celebration based on his own thoughts and ideas, and to call it a festival, or make it like a festival or ‘Eed. So how about when it is one of the festivals of the non-Muslims?

In Islam, a husband loves his wife throughout the year, and he expresses that love towards her with gifts, in verse and in prose, in letters and in other ways, throughout the years - not just on one day of the year.

Thirdly: There is no religion which encourages its followers to love and care for one another more than Islam does. This applies at all times and in all circumstances, not just on one particular day. Indeed, Islam encourages us to express our emotions and love at all times, as the Prophet said: "If a man loves his brother, let him tell him that he loves him." [Abu Daawood]

And he said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you truly believe, and you will not truly believe until you love one another. Shall I not tell you of something that, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread salaam (Islamic greeting) amongst yourselves." [Muslim]

Fourthly: Love in Islam is more general and more comprehensive; it is not restricted only to one kind of love, that between a man and a woman. There are many more kinds of love. There is the love of Allaah, love of His Messenger and his companions love for good and righteous people, love and support for the religion, love of martyrdom for the Sake of Allaah, etc. There are many kinds of love. It is a dangerous mistake to restrict this broad meaning to this one kind of love.

Fifthly: What these people think, that love before marriage is a good thing, is wrong, as has been proven in studies and by real-life experience.

So, how can we believe that Valentine's Day is of any benefit to Muslims? The truth is that it is a call for more permissiveness and immorality, and the forming of forbidden relationships.

The husband who sincerely loves his wife does not need this holiday to remind him of his love. He expresses his love for his wife at all times and on all occasions.

Women Under Taliban Rule - Truth Never Exposed

"Based on a survey by the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA), 80% of schools for girls located in villages across Afghanistan and controlled by the Taliban are still operating. Pia Karlsson, Education Adviser of SCA, mentioned 85% of the girls are still going to school. In the Province of Kunduz, which is under the Taliban rule, 122 schools for girls are operating, with 390 registered female teachers!"

Afghanistan and Taliban are the main target in the anti-Muslim media to attack Islam and Muslims as though Taliban are the only Muslim in the world!

All the women (western feminists) who criticized the Burqa (their traditional dress), were silent when 2 millions Afghan citizens were dead due to the Russian bombs, they were silent when 500,000 Afghan citizens were handicapped because of landmines, and they were quiet when thousands of Afghan women were raped before the Taliban came to power.

General Hamid who had lived for some years under the Taliban, said: "There was never a campaign directed at allowing the beating of women and there was no prohibition for women to pursue education. There was only restriction on mixed-gender education."

There are so many fabrications on 'respected' websites in the internet about the 'suffering' of Afghan women, while at the same time there isn't any mention of date, name, location or any other data that could be verified. Hamid Gul said that he always noticed there were more women than men in the streets or in the markets during the Taliban era.

The Afghan who protested in the west were those who originated from the Khalq and Parcham factions who were Communists. They were not representatives of the majority of the Afghan society. The Taliban had to keep an eye on these communist women with an extra tight measure to ensure they would not cause any discord or troubles.

Women only have to wear the burqa in the streets, whereas at home they are free to wear any dress they like. Munur, a nurse said: "Women in the hospitals seldom wear the burqa and even the jilbab when there are no men in there."

During the pre-Taliban era, there were only 350 beds for women in the hospitals across Kabul. In August 2001, there were 950 beds in the hospitals which were specific for women only. Some of the hospitals that were exclusive for women were Rabia Balkhi Hospital, The Red Crescent of Kuwait Health Center and The Health Clinic for Infectious Disease.

There were also 32 clinics for women and children. Additionally, the women also received the services provided by the ICRC and the Sanday Gal Orthopaedic Centers. Only female doctors and nurses were working in the hospitals and clinics to give the healthcare services to the female patients.

However the Sun, Daily Express, New York Times, and all the journalists never report this story, the same goes for BBC, CNN, Fox News, etc. This is part of the campaign of lies so that the world populations would be against the Taliban. They lied that the women could not work, the women could not go out of the house, to go to school, or even to go to hospital, but all the above mentioned facts proved otherwise.

A common reply that we get if we try to tell others about is that its none of your business. Allow me to give you an example where the it would not be my business but you will admit that I should have interfered.

Suppose you have a child of about 3 years old. You go with your family to a far away place. You and your spouse are busy setting up the things for a picnic. Suddenly, you notice that your child is missing. When you look around, you see that the child is walking along a dangerous path and will soon come to the point where he will fall over the cliff. You see me standing just near the end of the cliff. You shout for your child to wait but you know that it is to no avail. You see me smiling at the child. The child passes in front of me and eventually falls over the cliff.

Will you or will you not blame me for the death of the child?

Of course you will but I can say that it was none of my business!

How the Logic of Pervaizis/Munkar-e-Hadith is incorrect

These people say that a Muslim should follow only the Quran and not the ahadith of Prophet (S) and they gave the following example.

If a postman were to come to you and give you a letter, what would you do? Read the letter and follow it or start obeying the postman. Similarly, the Prophet Muhammad (S) was only a messenger (or a postman) and the Quran was the message (or the letter).

However, my question to them is if the letter asks the reader to follow the postman so that the reader can be lead to the sender, won't you follow the postman if you want to get to the sender. Similarly, the message/letter (Quran) says in Surah al-i-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 132 and in many other places

And obey Allah and the Apostle.

Hasan Bin Ali - Muaawiyah - Khaalid Bin Amr Bin Saeed - Abu Huzaifah. They said Sufyaan narrated to us with this same isnaad (as mentioned in No. I above). He said:

‘He (Ibn Mas’ood) raised his hands in the beginning once.” Some narrators said: ‘one time’. (Abu Dawood)
