We have some exciting news from our pastors and the church in El Salvador! We are grateful for all that Jesus is doing in their lives. Thank you for all your prayer and support! We hope this update encourages you:

A MONTH CENTERED ON CHRIST

The month of April has been filled with activities, all centered on our Lord Jesus Christ. As you may recall, during the first week we commemorated His passion, death, and resurrection, and experienced deeply meaningful moments of worship and reflection.

But He was wounded for our transgressions… and by His stripes we are healed. — Isaiah 53:5

These were days in which the church came together to exalt the name of God and remember the redemptive work of Christ.

EVANGELISTIC OUTREACH IN JIQUILISCO FOR CHILDREN

During the third week of April, we carried out an evangelistic outreach focused on children at our Jiquilisco campus. It was a joyful day filled with activities and learning, where we presented our Savior in a clear, relatable, and meaningful way to their lives.

Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them… — Mark 10:14

On this day seeds of faith were planted in many hearts, and we are trusting that they will bear fruit in God’s perfect timing.

FAMILY FELLOWSHIP AFTERNOON

We also held a family fellowship afternoon, designed to strengthen unity, community, and relationships within the church. During this time, we shared moments together, celebrated birthdays, and enjoyed various activities.

It was a special occasion in which new people were drawn to the church and received the Word that God had prepared for their lives.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! — Psalm 133:1

ONGOING MINISTRY IN OUR CAMPUSES

At our Jiquilisco and Tapalhuaca campuses, the Word of God has been faithfully preached week after week, impacting the lives of those living in the surrounding communities.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void… — Isaiah 55:11

We continue to witness how God transforms lives through His Word.

YOUTH RETREAT 2026 – “ONE HEART”

Please remember to pray for our Youth Retreat 2026, titled “ONE HEART.”

We are expecting participants from several nations, including Peru, Costa Rica, the United States, and Nicaragua. We pray that God will provide for each person in whom He has placed the desire to attend.

Our desire is that the Spirit of God will be poured out upon every attendee, and that they will return with a heart ready to be witnesses in their nations and wherever God may call them.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses… — Acts 1:8

El Salvador Update March

We are excited to share this update from one of our pastors in El Salvador. Also thank you for all your prayer, support and love; we are working on Jesus’ team together. We are grateful for all that Jesus is doing all around the world, including in El Salvador:

During the month of March, we witnessed a meaningful move of God within our church. This season has been marked by growth, progress, and spiritual strengthening. With a renewed leadership, united “as one man” (Judges 20:8), we have continued advancing with clarity and commitment in the vision the Lord has entrusted to us.

DOOR-TO-DOOR EVANGELISM

As part of our outreach efforts, we did door-to-door evangelism in the area surrounding one of our small groups.

With joy and purpose, we shared the message of salvation, sowing the Word of God and inviting families to connect with our small groups and church community.

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. — Mark 16:15

This initiative strengthened our mission to reach people where they are and extend the love of Christ in a personal way.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

For the second consecutive year, our children’s ministry organized a vacation bible school during the school break. It was three days filled with joy, meaningful learning, and spiritual formation, where our children—both the present and future of the church—were grounded in God’s Word.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. — Proverbs 22:6

Day 1: “Jesus, Our Gift”

The first day focused on teaching that Jesus came to dwell among us, reminding us of the greatest gift humanity has ever received.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us… — John 1:14

It was a day full of engaging activities, teaching, fellowship, and joy.

Day 2: “The Power of the Kingdom in Action”

On the second day, we emphasized servant leadership through the example of Jesus. We held a foot-washing activity to reflect His humility and also shared in the Lord’s Supper together.

For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done for you. — John 13:15

This experience was deeply meaningful, leaving a lasting impression on the children’s hearts.

Day 3: “Victory: From the Cross to Life”

We concluded with a powerful message about Christ’s victory over death. The children learned that through the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have salvation and the assurance of eternal life.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. — 1 Corinthians 15:57

It was a meaningful time of celebration, reflection, and faith strengthening.

SEASON REFLECTION

As a church, this season has led us to reflect deeply on the life, sacrifice, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. These weeks have been both fruitful and significant for the advancement of God’s Kingdom among us.

APPRECIATION & PRAYER REQUEST

We are sincerely grateful for your continued support and prayer. You are an essential part of what God is doing in El Salvador, and we firmly believe that even greater things are ahead.

A Day That God Decides

For God Has Looked Upon Us

God has placed on our hearts the “Filling of the Holy Spirit” for 2026. It has been an active year so far as the first few months have been filled with growth and many changes. It is to be expected that as we draw nearer to the Lord, our lives will be transformed. Everything that can’t take the heat is going to be consumed or removed. That level of disruption is a fearsome but necessary encounter that our souls need.

Key Verses:

Acts 15:8-9 (NASB)

8” And God, who knows the heart, testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us; 9 and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.”

I hope we find ourselves with our first love, and our lamp and oil ready. We aren’t perfect, but Jesus will continue to perfect us and raise us up as we surrender to Him.

For God Has Looked Upon Us

These first two months of 2026 have been about God preparing and repositioning us. This year God raised up new volunteers in Tapalhuaca and Jiquilisco. The new team members are being called up to help reach the people in these areas. We’re planning kids carnivals, evangelism outreaches, music classes and more.

Tapalhuaca Kids Carnival

On February 21, we had our first kids carnival in Tapalhuaca. We had a great turn out for this community with around 40 people attending, 19 of them were children. We set up many different stations of games for the kids to play and win candy. Then we gave them all a bible class where they learned more about Jesus. Five children gave their lives to Jesus and were prayed for! And at the end of the carnival, we gave toys and snacks to all of the kids.

One of the best stations was our version of tic-tac-toe where you get three x’s or o’s and play against the person in charge. After placing your third piece, the next turns involve each player moving a piece to an open spot in the game, each trying to outwit the other. This station turned into a constant repeat with kids hoping to beat the person in charge of the station. Even some of the adults chose to play and give it a try. It was a wonderful thing to see the unity that the station brought to everyone through some competition and fun.

Youth Retreat

This year God did something wonderful by giving us favor to be able to have the youth retreat at the beach after many years of not being able to have it there. For years it has been either too expensive, the houses too small, or the owners were unwilling to accept a large group of people into their beach house. But this year God gave us favor, and we found a place willing to accept our large group and willing to adapt for us to stay there. In every step of the way, God has shown his hand moving on our behalf and we are thankful for it! Especially because this year God has put on our hearts the important message “The Filling of The Holy Spirit”. A message we hope to follow in obedience and with faith, knowing He is faithful to fulfill it.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV) – “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”

We are expectant for a youth retreat unlike any other. El Salvador needs a touch of God and a new generation raised up. We need a generation that doesn’t just see themselves as saved saints, but as active servants of Jesus Christ in this world. As Jesus is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17-21).

So, we have had a great start to 2026! It’s been filled with growth and God giving us new methods of how to work. God has awakened in us a new passion and more volunteers for the vision He gave us. His Word is active in our past, present and future. He doesn’t forget what He has spoken to us, nor does He grow weary. For our God is unchanging, and faithful to fulfill His Word.

Our faith in 2026 is set on our God moving, so that we can move.

As the Lord leads, please remember in prayer the new volunteers, the carnivals, the evangelism outreaches, the music classes and especially for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our upcoming youth retreats, OneLife camps and IHNM activities in El Salvador, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Spain, UK and USA.

Scotland and Beyond!

Make a Way! Make a Way! Make a Way!

Isaiah 35:8 (ESV)

8 And a highway shall be there,

and it shall be called the Way of Holiness;

We spent September to mid-November in Spain and Scotland working with the churches and pastors and attending conferences.

Those of you who follow our missions know that we have been working in Spain since 2012. All of the works are growing and the pastors are encouraged in the Lord in spite of challenges.

Pastors Ricardo and Karen had to give up their rental location and are currently meeting in temporary facilities. The church has grown in spite of the disruption. Praise the Lord! We were also able to reconnect with former members from El Salvador who now live in Spain.

Pastor Luis who works with the recovering addicts and ex-convicts was hospitalized recently, please keep him in prayer. Our visit with him and the work was limited. We were able to go out to the re-hab facility and hold one service which was quite moving. He really wanted us to return but scheduling did not allow for it.

Pastors Antonio and Marimar are also looking at larger facilities because they too have grown. Their church has been our host church for many years as they keep a space with bunkbeds for us to stay in which serves as a hub for us to travel to the other churches. They are praying for a facility that will meet their church and our mission needs. Growth is a great challenge to have.

What you will not be very familiar with is our connection to Scotland which began in September 2019. The roots of this go back 35 years earlier with my father, Gene Beaver. As most of you know, my parents have been in missions for 58 years.

My dad travelled to Scotland in the early 90’s based on a word of revival that the Lord gave him. Specifically sending him to a place called Burntisland. Through this venture of faith my dad was connected to a Pastor Peter Hadden. Great things were going on with the churches in Scotland at that time but the revival my dad witnessed by the Holy Spirit did not come to a full measure. Yet all these years he has continued to pray over this word that the Lord gave him.

Fast forward to 2019 my dad was stirred up to visit Scotland again to see what might have transpired and to encourage them with this word that has not left him.

Joey and I travelled over from Spain and joined Jackie and my parents. That trip marked my spirit. As I entered the church in Kirkcaldy the Holy Spirit bore down on me and then swelled up with a profound pressing in my Spirit. I melted into tears with a tender burden of the Lord.

I have since accompanied my parents 3 times and on every trip a similar work of the Holy Spirit occurred. Last year in 2024 Rick, Jackie, Joey and myself travelled over and once again in Edinburgh the Lord spoke to several of us regarding His purposes for Scotland and beyond. We took this to prayer and returned again this year to pursue this burden of the Lord. This year the Lord knit our hearts to other believers in Scotland and opened up the doors.

It was sudden and yet not so sudden. It has been in the works since long ago. We are not certain of all of the logistics but we are confirmed in our connections. We kept receiving the witness of the Holy Spirit everywhere we went. We were invited into several churches and two conferences.

We fellowshipped with pastors from many nations now working in Scotland. We received open invitations for future collaborations. So much happened during our visit that we are still processing the details and praying about what the Lord would have us do in regard to it all.

I have mentioned in previous blogs about the powerful moving of the Holy Spirit that I have witnessed on occasions since April 2024. Once again there was an outstanding work of the presence of the Holy Spirit on our final Sunday at Pastor Sherrie’s annual Autumn conference, Faith in Action.

At the final song before the preaching of the word, Pastor Sherrie invited everyone to the altar as the band began to play “Waymaker”. It wasn’t typical to do so at that point in the order of the service, yet nearly all the people responded and moved forward. Suddenly the presence of the Holy Spirit was there. A mix of things began to happen. At first a fervent intense prayer erupted. Then a cry like a woman travailing in childbirth. Make a way, make a way, make a way! Open up, open up the King’s highway. Like a stream pouring into the house of the Lord…and many words to that effect. There were others calling or crying out and even some who seemed to have demonic issues.

Then to my left a group of voices began to sing a sweet melody that sounded like a children’s choir. I could feel in my innermost being a swelling of waves rising and falling. The presence of the Lord was intensifying to the point that the sound of His voice resonated over all the other voices. Then just as suddenly it seemed like the Lord capped off the connection. We all still felt the presence of the Lord and the service was great but that work of the Holy Spirit for approximately 15 minutes was outstanding. I asked the Lord at that time if we had grieved or offended so as to cut off His presence when it suddenly was capped. I felt the Lord say again as He did in Mexico, it is a foretaste. We need to get ready.

Isaiah 40:3-5 (ESV)

A voice cries:

“In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

4 Every valley shall be lifted up,

and every mountain and hill be made low;

the uneven ground shall become level,

and the rough places a plain.

5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed,

and all flesh shall see it together,

for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Today’s Opportunity

October in Spain passed by quickly. We saw God working new things in His churches there, as I am sure he is working in His church all over the world. His kingdom is ever advancing, and the battle for that advance is real. There is so much need. And we have been praying for the church there and the trials they are facing. So many people have no hope or purpose. But we have JESUS the Way, the Truth and the Life to share with them.

While there, we were able to help in the regular ministry and services and support the church leadership. And, beyond the services and events, we had many opportunities for fellowship and one-on-one interaction. The Spanish people are very sociable and welcoming. They highly value social interaction and spending time with people, especially over a meal. When someone invites you to their house, you know it will be elaborate, full of good food and at least 3 hours long. There is no dip in and dip out.

We saw God minister to our team as well as those around us through those very personal interactions. And when I look at Jesus’ ministry, I see these activities too. Jesus spent his ministry years in close relationship with 12 disciples, eating, drinking, fellowshipping, working and doing life with them. The gospels are full of one-on-one moments where God steps into the everyday and gives answers, hope and so much more. We are meant to do the same. I think sometimes, maybe like I do, we all get lost in aspiring to huge activities, instead of just being obedient to reach the one, your neighbor. God help us to not despise small beginnings and just be faithful. One is a lot more than none.

We saw this same principal in Spain. Each of us had opportunities, each day, wherever, whenever to be obedient to reach out to the one. To set aside our plan and to-do’s and put FIRST His Kingdom. That is the kind of worship God wants.

6 “Is this not the fast that I choose: To release the bonds of wickedness, To undo the ropes of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free, And break every yoke? 7 “Is it not to break your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 “Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will spring up quickly; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. 9 “Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry for help, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, 10 And [if] you offer yourself to the hungry And satisfy the need of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness, And your gloom [will become] like midday. 11 “And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. 12 “Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up the age-old foundations; And you will be called the repairer of the breach, The restorer of the streets in which to dwell. While working over there, we also had an opportunity to participate in a special service for a group of recovering addicts and homeless people. It was a beautiful and rather rustic scenario. The service happened outside at sunset in a place that even some nationals had a hard time coping with.

And there were so many very hard stories. Like one woman who told us about losing her children because of addiction. From that type of experience only Jesus can lift you. She is praying that one day she will get her kids back.

The group seemed to be forgotten by the world, but not by God. God sees them. And because many of them have been rejected by their family and friends, having others come in and share Jesus with them can encourage them not to give up, God does love them and will help them.

I think everyone received prayer that evening, and the group seemed very encouraged. He who the Son sets free is free indeed.

We had so many opportunities to influence the lives of others. I can only hope we used these to the max and look forward to the next opportunity today. And I am grateful for God’s power strengthening and guiding us in it all.

Missionary work, just to be frank, can be very hard. Constantly adjusting culturally and socially can become overwhelming. Missing family and friends and “stable”, “controllable” living scenarios can be taxing. And the ever-changing diet is definitely not for the faint of heart. I would not be able to do this without God doing it through me. I have reached desperation many times, as I am sure you have, but I know it’s worth it in the long run. And I encourage you, be willing to be uncomfortable for His purpose. Jesus had no place to lay His head, and He has given us much more than that. This is our temporary home. And He cares for us. Love, trust, and obey. Go. Do.

It’s now or never!

In September, we began our work in Spain in the most unforgettable way—

with a baptism like no other! The Alboran Sea was unusually rough that day. The waves were far above our heads, and many people felt we should just reschedule the baptisms.

The first to be baptized was a small but courageous 13-year-old Spanish girl named Daniela. She was determined. When she overheard us considering postponing the baptisms due to the dangerous conditions, she boldly declared, “It’s now or never!” Then, without hesitation, she marched straight into the sea to face the 9-foot waves—grinning with fearless determination. Both her parents were understandably concerned and nervous to see how this would turn out.

Watching her walk out into such tumultuous waters made me think of our lives as Christians. We are called to go out into the roaring sea of people (the world) to face waves of so many kinds. And sometimes the temptation is to delay or reschedule our calling to a more “convenient” time, but God calls today, those who would hear Him. He calls us today to face the waves that, without His grace, would be unbearable. He calls us today to follow Him, THE Victor, OUR Victor, into the world to achieve His purposes, not ours. He has determined our days. He is our Keeper. Our confidence is in Him, and we will not be put to shame.

As she entered the water, she battled the waves. At times we all found ourselves literally face-planted on the sea floor! Once she reached us, her uncle and I held on to her tightly as we waited for a break between the waves to baptize her. And once our opportunity arrived, we lowered her into the water like so many others have done for thousands of years, at risk of and, in truth, to give their earthly lives in honor of our Saviour Jesus Christ. It was an incredible moment—watching someone quite literally laugh in the face of fear while publicly declaring Jesus as Lord. I could not help but to think: “Now this is a real baptism!”

We were able to baptize all six that day! Thank you, Jesus!

Filled church:

The following day, Sunday morning, we held our first service, and the place was completely full! The pastors shared with me that they’ve actually lost people simply because they’ve run out of room. In Spain it’s rare to see a church filled to capacity, so this is both a blessing and a challenge. They have been looking for another location for some time now. Please pray with Pastors Antonio and Marimar about the possibility of renting or purchasing a larger facility to accommodate their growth.

That morning, I had the privilege of sharing a message on “Being a True Disciple of Christ”.  When I gave the invitation, it seemed as though every person in the room responded, not just confirming or receiving salvation, but fully committing to the call of being a true disciple of Christ.

It was a powerful moment, witnessing hearts stirred not only to believe in Jesus but to follow Him with wholehearted devotion.

We will be in Spain for the rest of October. We are seeking the Lord about how we can continue the work of encouraging and strengthening the churches here. We ask that you join us in prayer, believing that God will stir the hearts of His people to reach not only their own nation but all of Europe and beyond with the Gospel.

Also on the agenda is a trip to Scotland— a nation where, for the vast majority, Christianity is seen as nothing more than an empty 200-year-old church building. It’s estimated that only 1% to 3% of the population are active Christians. And yet God has opened remarkable doors! More info to come.

There is a time and season for everything…

OneLife sends out teams around the world every year. Typically we will participate in various camps and retreats encouraging people of all ages to serve the Lord and share Jesus. Usually the majority of the events we speak at and serve in are directed to younger people and 2025 has been no exception.

This year has been a great year so far and I want to share a couple of highlights about our most recent mission trip. Before I get in to it I want to mention a couple of points.

Over the years I have organized and hosted 30-40 of these type of retreat and camp events and I have been so blessed to have participated in dozens more. The Lord is gracious and we often experience a great time of ministry where the Lord touches lives and impacts people. I have witnessed the work of the Holy Spirit on many occasions over my lifetime. I can say that not all events have the same impact or powerful presence of the Lord as do some others.

In 2024 we experienced two such events that stood out in my and our team’s observations.

Mexico April 2024- Youth Missions Conference

Spain September 2024- Youth Camp

Both of these events had collective event-wide movements of local outpourings of the Holy Spirit that were clearly special. I felt the Lord say that these were the “entradas” or appetizers, meaning that there is more to come, the main course is on its way.

El Salvador August 2025

Many of our speaking engagements are centered on young adult Christians who are already feeling called into ministry and missions. However, for this 3 day event we had been informed that there would be a wide ranging mix of young people including lukewarm believers, complete unbelievers, derailed Christians and mature Christians looking for ways to serve the Lord.

Our OneLife team arrived prepared to build our message points one on the other as each session progressed over the 3 days. Beginning with the basics of the gospel of Christ and leading to the role of the Holy Spirit in our Christian life and witness. Our hope and prayers were for the unbelievers to be saved, that the lukewarm get fired up, the offtrack to repent and the called to receive direction, and all of us to be empowered from on high for our witness of the gospel of Christ Jesus.

On the first night, I felt the Lord speak some things to me about this generation that applied especially to those who should be leading the way for the next generation. It simply is not enough for us to sit in our worship services and soak it all up for ourselves. What we receive we need to share. That night about 25 came forward to repent.

The next day we continued laying the word out to break down the strongholds of unbelief and sin, as well as build up the faith and courage of the Believers.

On the second night, the singing and music were especially energetic and anointed. It was very powerful. I love to jump and dance with all my might like David whenever I feel that zeal for the Lord. It may look crazy, but I pour myself into it. I always think that if I am ever to be a martyr, that I would like to sing and dance that way before I go to be with the Lord. It was a great service to be a part of. After an hour of popping youthful worship, I ministered the word and then felt the Lord wanted me to step away from the pulpit and kneel down to pray in the back corner. We often think that God needs us up front leading so that we maintain order and direction but that is not necessarily always the case. Some of the people began to move toward the altar, and that is when the presence of the Lord moved in so gently and lovingly but also very firmly and reverently. It was solid like serious business. A hush came over the crowd and remained so for an extended period of time. For youth this is unusual. Several more youth moved forward to the altar, while others began to bow down in front of their chairs. Many of these youth had no previous exposure to anything like this. And no one except myself had ever been in a large meeting similar to this where the whole of those assembled were all spontaneously unified in profound reverence for such an extended period. One after another, people around the room would melt. Tears flowing silently down their cheeks. People began to pray for one another quietly, hugging and crying all very quietly. No one asked them to be silent. It was the quiet voice of God, the calm hushed tones of His loving whispers. Everyone responded in kind. A few songs were sung softly a cappella. Throughout everything, the room kept returning to the hushed tones of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in that still small voice. It was like being in a big, warm, safe and secure hug. It was wonderful, and full of love and tenderness. We all knew the Lord was with us

These youth got a living example of what personal time with the Lord can be like. It can be wonderful to rest in the Lord and listen for His love and contemplate His power. Psalm 37:7, Zechariah 2:13, Habakuk 2:20

Throughout the retreat up to that point, the youth had been typical energetic young people but that night all of them were profoundly touched, and many of them stepped into a relational dynamic with the Lord that they did not know existed. God’s love and healing power to mend relationships and unify His people was like a warm oil washing over their souls and minds in gentle waves. Psalm 133

Praise Report:

-10 participants came to the camp from Peru. That’s another great testimony.

-Our Jiquilisco church site participated for the first time, sending 8 students and 4 leaders. Most of these kids were born into the M.A.M.I. Program as infants. They have also been a part of the Saturday and Sunday classes and the feeding program.

-Sunday morning, the last day of camp, 22 youth were baptized and 5 were from Jiquilisco.

God showed up to camp in a special way in 2025, and as great and exciting as it was, it is still just a foretaste of what is to come.

First Youth Camp for Jiqui!!!

Firstly, Thank you to everyone who is part of what God is doing through us!

Jesus is changing lives!

We saw awesome things happen in July & August, thank you, Jesus!

Our OneLife team was invited to El Salvador for their first international youth and young adults’ retreat. They wanted our team to talk about being citizens of heaven and how that looks on earth. It was scary and exciting! Our team could tell that God wanted to do something new.

This was also the first camp ever that our Jiquilisco church site was able to attend!

This was huge and never achievable before. The Jiquilisco church site is in a very difficult community, and the team in El Salvador did fundraising months before to send anyone to camp who could go.

You can read more about their experience later in this update.

We went to El Salvador very prayerfully, hoping to see a new and truly consuming commitment to Jesus. There is a lot of love for the idea of Jesus, and admiration for what He has done and does for us, but that is not the same thing as surrendering your life, really following Him.

He says those who love Him will obey Him. That cannot happen without the work of the Holy Spirit in our own hearts and lives, that calling to repentance and returning to the Father.

The trip came with trials and victories, as you’ve probably experienced this when you have tried to do anything in obedience. I feel like the enemy always tries to use exhaustion, bacteria, dehydration and misunderstandings to cause issues. Love, perseverance, prayer and humility are almost always required to keep going.

If there isn’t a battle you probably aren’t on the battlefield. Or the tactics are more subtle.

Once we got to the retreat, it was clear that the enemy had also come armed for war. You might think those fighting God’s purposes are the “sinners”, but the reality is, Jesus’ greatest opponents were pharisees and scholars, those who thought they were “godly”. That is why even Peter was seen speaking for the devil, because good intentions do not = God. Jesus thinks differently.

So, from the start we spent a lot of time praying, both that we wouldn’t get distracted or tricked by the enemy, and that others would hear and obey when the Holy Spirit moved on their hearts, especially about the new things. Change is required for new results, and that requires effort and seeking the Lord.

We saw a lot of opposition over the first two days, but by the evening of the second day, it was time for decisions. A call was made to which no one initially responded: to surrender to the Lord, to be filled with His Holy Spirit to be a witness (that is why the Spirit was sent). So, the speaker turned over the service to the leaders to close. But before they could close, in silence slowly one by one people began to respond. They would walk up to the front and just start having a personal interaction with Jesus. There was no noise, no speaking, no singing. The lights were on. A few may have been crying, but it was just people honestly choosing Jesus, in what for some might seem like an atmosphere inconducive to the move of the Holy Spirit. God doesn’t need our human made strategies, He just asks for obedience, to follow His lead unashamedly.

People stood, kneeled or however they felt the Lord tell them to do for a long time just talking to the Lord as the Holy Spirit moved upon each one. I’m sure, if my own experience tells anything, there was repentance, a shedding of the fear of other’s opinions, releasing of offenses, surrender and reaching out. It was beautiful, sincere, and simple.

After a while many things happened, but notably people began to pray for one another. We were putting into action what God has called His children to do. I can’t even accurately tell you what all went on, but hearts were softening and responding to the Holy Spirit. At the beginning there were many who resisted the call, and some who were just tired in their flesh, but the Holy Spirit conquered. And as people began to pray for one another, you could see even more happening. People who refused to participate before were finally feeling His presence and starting to go pray for others as well. There is no way for me to know all that happened, but I know God was offering an opportunity for many to return to Him.

The next day, you could see the results when we had the baptisms. We had 22 youth who decided to follow Jesus and to publicly show that.

As I mentioned above, this is the first year that the youth from our Jiquilisco church site were able to come to camp. It was such a huge leap forward for their community. It was their first time ever to experience something like that. Several things had to be explained to them, for instance: crying for joy, some of them could only relate crying to pain or punishment, until they experienced tears of joy and love for Jesus after being baptized. This new experience definitely came with a learning curve. The leadership team from their church site had to instruct, correct, help and watch out for them throughout the retreat. The other youth also had to learn to be understanding and loving. There was a lot of prayer and work involved in it.

But the Lord is always faithful, and He allowed us to see that with our own eyes.

The youth from Jiquilisco were so impacted! The day we returned from camp, you could see the true, deep joy in their lives, that light that only Jesus can make in you! It was very striking for me personally. And anyone who has every visited that community would understand this a little better. They actually had joy and love!

Many of them surrendered to Christ, and many were baptized to the joy of everyone there! It was so amazing to see, things only God can do in a person!

And now they have returned to their everyday lives and need our prayers.

We have all lived through trials and struggles, and know that the enemy will try to take them off course, to remove those seeds Jesus has planted in them. Some of them have circumstances that we could not even imagine. But Jesus is their hope!

Please join us in interceding for their eternity and current situations. Please pray that Jesus will give them the strength, in His Spirit, to rise above their circumstances, and not lose hope, but hold fast to their hope in Him!

I am so grateful for what God is doing all around the world and especially for what I was just able to witness. Jesus is faithful. His word says if we, His people, will humble ourselves, seek Him and turn from our wicked ways, then He will heal our land and forgive our sins.

The task falls on us to seek the Lord and welcome His Spirit to come and overhaul our lives and hearts.

Jesus, please help us! Spirit, please bring us to repentance!

Peru

Just returned from our trip to Peru. We are so thankful to Pastor Steven Chavez, who hosted us and organized our very busy yet fruitful trip.

On Friday morning, we met with the Mayor of Victoria (the central part of Lima) to discuss the details for organizing a crusade in Lima. We had the opportunity to pray for the city and the various challenges the mayor is facing. It was refreshing to see someone with a burden from the Lord for souls serving in leadership!

On Friday evening, we held a conference with approximately 60 leaders representing various church organizations and denominations, as well as several Christian politicians—all of whom share a burden for revival and the vision of holding a crusade in Peru. Jose Aguilar, Miguel Reyes, and I were able to share about awakening and revival in Peru and around the world. The response was powerful, and we had the privilege of praying with many Christian leaders.

On Saturday morning, we received a special invitation from an aide to the President of Peru—who was unfortunately out of the country at the time—to visit the Presidential Palace. What an amazing and humbling experience! We were given the privilege of praying for the nation and for the President in the official presidential meeting and dining room.

Later that day, during lunch, I was asked to pray for a backslidden christian woman who was being tormented by demons. After prayer, she recommitted her life to the Lord, and we later received the joyful report that she had returned to church and was worshiping God!

In the early evening, we hosted a one-day revival consisting of three separate services in Manchay. And afterward, we joined Miguel as he ministered at another revival service in Lima. The altars were filled as we prayed for many who had come to hear the Word of God. During both revival events, we witnessed a tremendous response to the message of the Gospel.

On Sunday, Jose preached in two churches in downtown Lima, Miguel preached in two churches in the mountains of Manchay, and I also preached in two churches in Lima. In the morning service in which I participated, the altars were filled with people making decisions for Christ. Additionally, the evening service saw a strong response to the message. One moment that deeply impacted me was when the pastor’s nephew, who had unexpectedly flown in from New Jersey, attended the evening service and came forward to accept Christ. A special thanks to pastors Johnny, Raquel, Andres, Steven and many others for the honor and privilege of allowing us to minister in their churches. It was truly a powerful day in the Lord!

On Monday, we had breakfast with a wonderful pastor and had a dinner meeting with approximately 25 pastors and leaders to specifically discuss the logistics of a possible crusade. To our surprise, representatives of the President of Peru attended and offered to us the use of the national stadium—complete with sound equipment and audiovisual support—free of charge.

Should we choose to be God’s?

His faithfulness does not fail.

Shortly before writing this blog, while staying over the weekend in Jiquilisco, I was talking to God and He began to speak about the canton called “El Paraiso”. Jiquilisco has always been a hard mission field. The people there have been hard hearted, unwilling to repent and turn to God. Even to this day many parents are willing to just leave little kids behind with no food made for them to eat, so that they can go to parties or other events that are happening on the weekends. My conversation with God, I would like to say, was a culmination, not of a single moment, but of many stories.

First, I found myself speaking to Pastor Lola about two young boys from Jiqui that I grew up with. I thought they had ended up in jail. I remember, when we were in our early teens, their father, a gang boss, had started to use them to run moonshine into town. The laws at the time made it so that if a child had an illegal substance, they could not arrest them, only confiscate the substance. One thing led to another, and he began involving them in the local gang. I never knew the next part of their story, but Lola told me. Their mother, to rescue them from what was happening, sent them away to their older sister who lived in the United States, where now one of them is on the worship team and the other also serves at their church.

Then, God reminded me of the week before when Pastor Lola told me that another one of the boys I grew up with in Jiqui had returned to visit his family from a town near the border with Honduras, where he is now a youth pastor.

The next story I heard from a friend who came from the central church to help that Sunday. He told me about remembering how hard the young kids were to reach before, and then how sometime later, when they were older, they had sent messages asking for forgiveness for their behavior.

Finally, the last story I heard was from one of my sisters. I began telling her these previous stories of them asking for forgiveness and the others who were serving God. And she said something beautiful, “It encourages me to hear these stories, because even if it was all for just one, it was worth it.” These words came in the middle of her reminiscing about earlier times in kid’s classes, than even my friend’s story. She told how she remembered young girls without an answer to a simple question that for us would be so common we don’t even think or realize someone could possibly not have an answer to it, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Stepping back to this recent weekend in Jiquilisco, something was happening. It was like no other weekend before. The team heading to Jiquilisco had chosen to focus in more on God. We felt we had gotten comfortable. Recently we had started giving many classes again: Guitar, Piano, Computer/Tablet, and youth meetings. But we felt we were just achieving the goal or duty, and that weekend we chose to focus in. During our restful moments, we set aside our distractions and said if we’re going to rest, we’ll rest seeking God.

And I say, “His faithfulness does not fail.” You see by Saturday morning we were surrounded by what He wanted us to do and didn’t even realize it yet. We went on a morning prayer walk at 7 am. During it we took advantage to invite kids to the music classes at 9 am. And during that walk, by what I would call harvesting fruit from seeds we did not sow, those same kids were the answer to our prayers, the third generation of fruit is what I would call them.

The church was founded on the first generation who accepted the Lord- I say generation because generational gaps are shorter here. Girls of 15-18 are mothers and raising children. These are young girls, just like the ones who before could not even answer a question like “What do you want to be when you grow up?” (In truth the only real answer they had given was a grim one. They could only hope to get together with, not even marry, a man probably 15 to 20 years older than them.) I remember as a child this first generation. One time, a man I would call a prophet came to preach to the adults that stayed in the service, and in the middle of his preaching stopped and expressed that he felt that there were many women who had suffered sexual abuse and God wanted to heal them. But the room broke out into laughter (these were people that you would be extremely hard pressed to even get a smile from) because they said that all of them had suffered that.

Then the second generation came along, the kids I grew up with whom my friend taught classes to. Many of them still struggled with wanting to live worldly lifestyles and having a lot of anger. They still fought a lot, and each fight easily could have led to someone being seriously hurt or someone retaliating later. But I remember them having dreams and being able to smile sometimes. You see those young girls who saw no future for themselves were willing for their kids to have one.

Finally, the third generation… we return to that morning walk. When we went by, these young kids smiled so brightly. Some have parents that take care of them (their parents are the kids I grew up with). The kids still have foul mouths and fight, but mostly they fight for a cause like defending a sibling. Where before it was for petty vengeance or flat-out greed that they took their friends’ candy, now some will even happily offer us the last piece of their candy. These kids, the third generation, even guided us to all their friends’ houses to invite them to church and the classes we were having.

They are fruit of the seed sown by others, that we can now harvest unto salvation. They are preachers and ministers that will go out and reach the world. Step by step, generation by generation, if we labor faithfully others will reap what we sow.

I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have come into their labor. John 4:38 (ESV)

I returned from the weekend in Jiquilisco, and began to tell my parents in a meeting on Monday the story of the storm of smiling kids that wanted to go and be at church all Saturday long. They came with us from our walk back to the church and ate breakfast with us (since none had eaten breakfast that day). The kids stayed through the music class and left for lunch. They later returned for the evening youth meeting, even the little kids who weren’t old enough to participate. And at the end of the meeting, we gave them a snack before sending them home. When I told my parents this, I came intent on telling them about the future vision I could see because of this experience and other experiences from members of the team in jiquilisco. I had two more visions that we as a team wanted to fulfill. So, I told them of an idea of a day care for the kids on Saturdays, where we could take care of them all day long, and of the desire to do kids carnivals in downtown Jiquilisco, and lastly of the desire to sponsor these kids to go to a youth retreat. I knew not what I spoke of, for these dreams were not mine. As I finished each point in tears, because of the presence of God, I heard my mother respond through her own tears, “That was Chuz and Lola’s Dream.” You see, we, the team, unknowingly felt in our hearts the dreams that the pastors in Jiquilisco had dreamed of years ago. My mom then told me about a word from God she felt to give the pastors: “You will see the fruit of the seeds you have sown.”

In 2020, during the height of COVID-19, I had a dream. In the dream I found myself in the stairway of the house that at the time we were staying at. Halfway down the stairs I was overwhelmed by what I could call the cry of the blood of those who unjustly died. An overwhelming cry that I could not avoid, but cried out myself saying, “Justice!” Soon after I cried out for justice, I was taken away, flying through the sky to arrive in a field with Pastor Chuz, in what I could say was Jiquilisco.

Soon after I had that dream, my brother, his wife and I were evacuated to the United States. And just like the dream I had just had, I was in flight, going from place to place for a long time. During that same time the gangs were imprisoned thanks to Covid’s quarantine. And now I find myself in that field with Pastors Chuz and Lola.

The final story I want to tell is from the previous blog about Jiquilisco.

“It is of a young boy that comes to the church site in Jiquilisco. He was a problematic child, and for some weeks he had been behaving worse than usual. The situation was getting out of hand. Many of you know Lola, one of our pastors in Jiquilisco, who is like a mother figure to so many of these kids and has fed them for many years at 4 am on Mondays before they go to work or school. Well, she kept on trying to instruct and correct this young boy’s behavior, getting on to him and reprimanding him with little success. But during a Sunday service when Henry her son, a pastor from the central church site, was visiting, Lola mentioned the child to him. In their conversation, Henry felt led of the Spirit to tell her that the child did not need more reprimands, all he needed was someone to love him. After their conversation Lola did exactly that. When the young boy began to misbehave again, all she did was hug him and say, “I love you.” The first time it didn’t work, and in embrace he began to misbehave. So, she kept on hugging him and repeated, “I love you”. Still, it seemed to not work, but God does not give guidance that fails. So, hugging him even tighter she said again, “I love you”. After that third time, you could hear a young child begin to sob sorrowful tears but healing tears. Pressing forward and onward many times we don’t realize that the seeds planted just take time and many attempts.

This third generation will be free! Jiquilisco has been a town with a lot of witchcraft, and many people opposed to God. Still we fight for many to leave those things behind, and we have seen the fruit and freedom of the first and second generation. But I know, here with the third generation, we will again see victory. Even for those that choose to stay living in the world and under the law, if we keep on moving forward and onward, others will reap even greater of a harvest.

“You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, inflicting the punishment of the fathers on the children, even on the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me…” Deuteronomy 5:9 (NASB)

The conversation with my parents ended with these words from God to me “Just as Pastor Lola hugged and said, “I love you,” to that young boy three times, I am going to again hug and say, “I love you,” to Jiquilisco.”
