June 1 in West Virginia: West Virginia Grappling Open

Time: Tournament 11am (Cash tournament starts), Referee Meeting at 10am, Competitor Rules meeting at 10:30am.
Cost: Only $45 for those who preregister ($60 at the door) and you can compete in as many divisions as you want (Preregistrations must be in our hands no later than 5/30/2013 and the forms will be at the bottom of this page).

$30 for children ($40 at the door)

Weigh-ins to be held Friday (5pm-10pm, unless special arrangements are made) and Saturday 9am-11am.

Once again, we will feature our no-gi tournamentfor money. This will be single elimination format and will feature two weight classes. 170 and under and 171 and above. Each winner will receive $350!

With hundreds of seminars taught worldwide, Caio Terra has been teaching his championship winning techniques and helping students bring their training and understanding of jiu jitsu to the next level. It is his belief that jiu jitsu is for everyone and he’s proof that technique, above all else, prevails.

Caio will teach unique technical position of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and answer student questions about the techniques. After each position is demonstrated, the teacher monitors and corrects each student’s technique as they work among each other. This process continues for three hours so that students can learn as many techniques as possible, while receiving as much detail as possible.

Caio likes to “roll,” Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s form of sparring, for the last thirty-minutes with as many students as possible (if he isn’t injured). Even experienced students will be shown techniques rarely seen and will learn new details on existing techniques they already know.

Pre-Registration Fee Structure:
There are 3 price levels: early bird, regular and pay-at-the-door. Competitors who register & pay online by the early bird or regular pricing deadlines will receive the corresponding discount pricing. Please understand: you must pay online to receive the discount. If you just register yourself online without paying you would be choosing the pay-at-the-door option and will pay the cooresponding pay-at-the-door fees when you arrive at the tournament.

Weigh ins prior to bracket start on Saturday! We will be following all IBJJF standard rules and regulations for tournament matches. All judges decisions are final. On Saturday, June 22nd NEWBREED will be in South Florida again for the second and last time for this year. This is the third event in the 2013 Florida Tournament Series and it is a qualifier for The Ultimate Grappler. It is going to be South Florida’s premier Summer event. It is a one day event and it is a Gi & No-Gi tournament. Come as an individual or as a team to compete. You do not have to live in Florida or be on a team to participate in this event.
