Instagram and Pinterest are two hottest photography application and fastest growing web properties. In this age of internet mashups, no one surprised if two of these apps combines. Do you love blogging using WordPress platform? are you encouraging your family members, colleagues and friends to write blogs, specially on WordPress and want to track ‘who use WordPress’? Then here’s a good news for you. Automattic, company behind WordPress added a new feature on WordPress.com blogs that can search your friends blog.

This new ‘Friend Finder’ service uses your Google contacts, Facebook and Twitter to search for people in your list that also has blog on WordPress.com. All you need to connect your WordPress account with these services. Follow these steps:

Now click on any of the services listed i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Google Contacts, from which you want to find your friend. Allow access to read contacts and friend details and hit enter.

After granting access, WordPress will collect your friends email-IDs and search them in WordPress.com database for registered blogs. If the system find contacts using WordPress services, it will show the whole list.

Try all the three services to know more about your friends blog. This list have your friends name, his/her blog address and a Follow button. Click Follow and each time your friend publishes a new post it will show up in your Reader under Blogs I Follow.

If you have multiple blogs and only wants to show a particular when your friend find you. You have to set a Primary Blog in your Settings so the correct blog is shown to friends when they find you.

Turn-off Google 2-Step Verification

Few days back we wrote an article on ‘how to use 2-step verification for Google account’ to make it hack proof. 2-Step verification adds a hard to breach extra layer of security. But, sometimes it feels annoying to access Google account and its services from non-browser desktop applications like Microsoft Outlook, mobile phone apps, Google Chrome sign-in and others. You need to provide application-specific password to access Google services on these devices.

So, if you feel that you have nothing important to be stole on your Google account and want to revoke 2-step verification process, then here is a tutorial to follow.

Now click ‘Turn off 2-step verification’. A pop-up window will appear to ask you that are you sure to turn off 2-step verification. Click OK and you’re done.

Very easy process, but don’t forget to revoke access for authorizing application. Destroy all application specific password’s you have created to access non-browser apps.

Open source web browser Mozilla Firefox is the best browser available for web developers. It has plenty of add-on to customize it as per your need with highly secure and faster browsing experience. But, now a days people are facing some performance issues like slow start up and high memory consumption.

I am a great fan of Firefox and uses it as my primary browser from more than 7 years. As per my experience, slow start up and high RAM consumption arises after Firefox 3 or Firefox 4 release. Latest versions of Firefox is the most advanced Firefox but it when it comes to performance it sucks.

This situation goes worst when you enable “Show my Windows and Tabs from last time”. If there are too many open tabs left after closing Firefox, the start up become more slow. When you start Firefox they all load and slows down start up process. Don’t worry, here is a good news for you, as today I am going to show you ‘how to speed up Firefox start up.’ Follow these steps:

Open Firefox web browser and open settings by using ‘Tools >> Options’.
In General tab’s start up section, set an action to take when Firefox starts. Here you have three options to choose from, Blank page, Home Page or Windows and Tabs from last time; choose any one.
Now it’s time to apply the trick. Check the box next to ‘Don’t load tabs until selected’ option and click OK. You’re done.

Now, when you start Firefox all your Windows and Tabs from last time will open. But tabs will not load automatically until you open that. This setting utilize less memory resources and hence help Firefox to start fast.

Access Google Drive Offline, i.e. Without Internet Connection

Google Drive offers seamless workflow with overall Google experience. You can view, edit and share files from desktop and mobile devices with internet connection. But suppose you are going for a vacation to a place very far from city, where you can’t get internet connection. At these places you can’t access your files stored on DropBox, Microsoft SkyDrive cloud storage.

Here, Google Drive comes with a solution to manage files offline. You can set up your Google Drive account for offline uses. Remember, for better security enable offline access only on personal computers or computers where you have a password protected account. Enabling offline access on public or shared computers can put your data at risk, since others may be able to view your synced Google documents and spreadsheets.

Steps to setup Offline Access:

Start Google Chrome Browser (Install it if you haven’t) and open Google Drive page.
Now click on the gear-settings drop-down link on top-right side of page and select Set up Docs Offline at end of the menu.
A new windows Set up Docs Offline will appear that has two steps. First setup to allow offline docs viewing and second step leads you to install Chrome web app. Now click on the Install from Chrome web Store link.
Click on Add to Chrome link to add Google Docs web app in your Chrome browser.
After installation you will see Google Docs app on your Chrome browser’s app section. Click on it to finalise setup.

With Google Docs Offline setup you can only view Google documents but can’t edit them. You can both view and edit PDF, MS Office and other without internet connection. If you haven’t know about what features Google Drive offer’s, then read this sort description.

Google’s Easter Egg ‘Zerg Rush’ Eats Your Search Result

Today, Google adds another Easter Egg fun in its search result page. If you search for the term ‘Zerg Rush’ you will be surprised to see the fun. You will be landed on general Google search result page but within few seconds some Os, come from all sides of browser window, from above, below and side, than eats whole search results and form two big Gs. This Google Easter Egg trick is related to the popular StarCraft game.

Google gives you chance to fight with these Os and save search results. Double click on search terms, it will change cursor to plus sign. Now start clicking on an O to destroy it than move to other one. Google counts the number of Os you destroy in the right sidebar. The more quickly you vanish these Os, the more quick they appear and finally you loose.

After you loose battle against evil Os they will form two big G on the webpage. Than you can share your score with Google+ Circles. If you want to clear this screen, click on ‘X’ button above the score.Let’s have fun and share your views about this Easter Egg.

Add Google+ Share Button on Your Blog

In our last post we informed you about the launch of Google+ Share Button. Using this button you can share webpages with your comment to your Google+ Circles. Webmasters can add this button to content across their site to make sharing on Google+ easy. This button is perfect for content that users may want to share but not +1.

And now here’s a tutorial to add Google+ Share button on your website/blog pages.

Open the Google Developers page in your web browser and click on Share link under Plugins section on left sidebar. Here you will find some customizable settings about the annotation design, size of button, language and some other advanced settings. Annotation may be configured in four ways; Inline, Bubble (Horizontal), Bubble(Vertical) and no annotation. You can also set Share button size and language as per your need.

There are some advanced settings too. You can set this code to Asynchronous mode, HTML 5 valid syntax and ‘on load’ or explicit parse tags.

If you want to share a specific URL then add it to URL to share‘ box. Although there is no latency impact of
