Ten years ago, I had a different life. I was a school teacher molding young minds. I was once had a teaching post at a very remote rural area. They had a simple way of life. Farming was their main source of income. It made me realize that simple life have simple happiness.

Having little toddlers at home, we don't have all the opportunity to go out and eat out. When we get a chance, we go to Chili's because the foods there are affordable and both hubby and I loves them. The few times that we were there, we were always satisfied with our order.

A Willing Volunteer and Marriage Thoughts

I still have siblings who are still single. Although they have someone in their lives, they still do not have plans of settling down and starting their own families. But if they do decide, I would be very delighted and will really volunteer to reserve and purchase for their bridal shower invitations. I would really love to see nephews and nieces and it would be pretty nice to have close family relatives to share the same experiences. Having married before them, I know I can share my thoughts and learning on marriage and raising a family, although I am no expert, but I do have something to impart to them.

Getting married though is no easy thing. The preparation for the wedding itself is very daunting, even though if you hire a wedding coordinator and all. The pressure to produce a grand wedding is tantamount to passing any exam. There are so many details to look after like the venue, reception, flowers, food, color motifs, the wedding gown, the entourage’s attires, the invitations, the RSVPs, the guests, the thank you cards, the wedding rings, the videos, the wedding photos and the list just goes on and on. So it is not really easy, plus it entails a big amount, especially if couples are opting for a grand wedding.

But whether the wedding be splendid or the simple one, it’s the relationship and the marriage bliss after the wedding ceremony is all that matters. Couples must be willing to give one’s self and complement each other to have a harmonious relationship as husband and wife. There must be give and take and both should have open lines of communication.

I do wish that one of my siblings will get married soon and experience a beautiful life together with the love of her life. I really do promise to help them out in their wedding preparations.

Jake's Special Day

Jake had a wonderful day on his birthday yesterday. We asked him if he had fun and he said yes, also this girl said yes. Look at that dirty face it showed that the birthday ice cream cake was superb and she wanted more.
Jake did not finished his cake and was excited to oepn his presents.
Justine and Joe helped him blowing the tricky candles. Someone got stressed blowing it. I had no idea it was a tricky candle though.
Before we started with the cake and presents, we let them blew all the balloons and some of the balloons popped.
Jake couldn't resist the train as in a real train and he had the chance to watched it. We stopped by at the train area during our bike riding and luckily one train passed by.

We have planned a simple birthday celebration for our buckaroo today. And yesterday we went to target to find a birthday gift. He spotted this spider man at the toy section and I know he will throw a fit if I won't buy it for him. This is not his birthday gift, this toy is just one of those toys that we needed to buy to avoid tantrums. Anyway, it his birthday and he is been a very good kid to us. He deserved it.

My wife and I recently moved out here to what she affectionately calls the boondocks for me to take a great job at a nearby factory. I love it here and I know she’s getting used to it day by day but it’s been a struggle for the both of us to get used to this slower pace of life. It seems like everything closes at 7pm and when we needed internet we were referred to http://www.satellitestarinternet.com/hughesnet_compare_to_dialup.html for satellite internet which I had honestly never even heard of. But anyway, we’ve gotten a dog and we spend a lot more time outdoors and life is generally better than I ever could have imagined only a few months after the move. I think we’re going to turn this place into a great little home and I know that even though she’s still a bit shell shocked Ginny is going to really come to love this place like I have already. The people are so friendly and helpful and there’s something to be said for small town life!

A wonderful family playtime we had last week. SIL with the kids from NYC came to SR for a visit. They saw them last Saturday when they and we went to see them again last Thursday. Spent most of the afternoon at the mall and the kids had great time. They enjoyed playing with their cousins who are really good at kids. Thanks to Lillian and Henry.

Forget pre-school, pre-k and grade school. They're now in college. It's a one day college life for these two. Last week, their daddy took them to work. While he was having his class, these two little munchkins were also in the classroom writing on the board and coloring their workbook. According to him, the students were laughing at their cuteness trying to reach the green board. Cuteness eh! *smile*

SHL Needs a New Makeover

Simple Happy Life had been using the same template since 2009. Thanks to Momgen. It was 2010 I think when I asked momgen to change my blog template. I used the new template for couple of weeks and then change it back to the original. I saw the code of the old template and used the header. This is now the result. Whatchathink?

I still need a new makeover.
