The original lighthouse was built in 1857 by the Spanish.Liloan was already known for its scenic pristine beaches and as a resort town, favorite place for sea bathing in northern part of Cebu,Philippines.The word Liloan, as the legend is told, comes from the word “lilo” - whirling waters that form when the sea approaches an abrupt depth at a point just after a bridge.Liloan is home to a number of ceramics manufacturers. Their shops sell a variety of ceramics items - from ordinary plant pots, to bricks and exotic jars.

As of today, May 24, 2009,the World Health Organisation reported the total number of swine flu infections. In 43 countries there are already 12, 022 cases.

Since Friday May 22,2009, there are 854 new cases have been reported, including with the number of deaths -- all cases are in USA.WHO warns that some countries who where most afftected by the A(H1N1) virus, have stopped keeping full track of the diseases.

Here is a list released by WHO last Saturday. The figures may slightly differ from those issued by national authorities due to the time lag in notification and publication.

Tonight I was temporarily remove my followers widgets, cause their was some error occur, of displaying my blog, if i try to view it,their must be a message display "Internet explorer cannot open http://juveltenefrancia.blogspot.com and i try it to research what is wrong and i found out that following through google friend connect is the cause of the error and i don't know why maybe because this is a beta program from google o this is what the system work.An now I'm using "opera" and their is no problem at all and i decided to temporarily remove my widget cause most of the computer 80% "Internet explorer" users so it's really affect to the viewers.So if you know how to fix it you can leave a comment and i really appreciate it.

Facebook users hooked in new 'phishing' scam

WASHINGTON (AFP) - - Facebook on Friday was blocking links to bogus websites set up to look like the home page of the popular social network in a "phishing" attack by hackers"Were aware of the attack and are already blocking links to these new phishing sites from being shared on Facebook," the Palo Alto, California, company said in a statement.
"Were also cleaning up phony messages and wall posts and resetting the passwords of affected users," it said.
Facebook did not say how many of the 200 million users of the social network had been affected in the latest hacker attack.
An unknown number of Facebook users received a message on Thursday from a friend's account urging them to visit websites such as "151.im."
The sites were realistic-looking replicas of the social network's log-in page but were actually controlled by the hackers. The bogus page would capture password information when a user logged in.
Facebook said it believed the latest attack was related to a similar scheme two weeks ago known as "fbstarter.com."
Online social networking services are prime targets for hackers because they provide trusted gateways into users' networks of friends, according to computer security specialists.
Hackers can use breached social networking accounts for "nefarious purposes" such as infecting computers with malware, malicious software, that steals valuable data or commandeers control of machines, according to Internet security firm MarkMonitor.
Facebook advises users to shun messages, posts or links asking for log-in information and to always make certain they are visiting the social networking website's legitimate address of facebook.com.

GMA names Pacquiao ambassador for peace

President Arroyo has named Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao as the country’s “Ambassador for Peace and Understanding” in an elaborate homecoming ceremony at Malacañang yesterday.The homegrown boxing hero was also tapped by the government as a “glorified asset” in its intelligence affairs and designated him as special assistant to Secretary of Justice Raul Gonzalez.
Meanwhile, tens of thousands lined the streets of the metropolis to welcome the boxing superstar who had earlier defied a government request to stay in the US over fears of the dreaded A(H1N1) influenza virus.
Pacquiao arrived at the Palace grounds at 10:45 a.m. in a motorcade and was met by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita.
He was then escorted to the Music Room where he was received by Mrs. Arroyo and First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo. The Filipino boxing champion gave the First Couple blue jackets from Team Pacquiao.
Pacquiao was also presented by Palace chefs with a 28-pound chocolate cake that had a candy replica of his belt as decoration.
Ermita read the proclamation declaring a National Day of Celebration for Pacquiao’s victory.
Under department order no. 344 signed by Gonzalez, Pacquiao was tasked to coordinate with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and provide intelligence reports “in the interest of public service and pursuant to the provisions of existing laws.”
Gonzalez told reporters last night that the boxing champion would not receive a salary from the government. He said Pacquiao was given an official designation in government simply because “he deserves it.”
“He said he wanted to help the government in whatever way he could. He was asking for it (a designation) and it wasn’t hard for us to give it anyway,” he stressed.
The Justice chief said he has known Pacquiao for a long time and personally knows that the latter would be able to help government because of his access to information that may be crucial to some cases being handled by the DOJ.
Gonzalez also said that the boxing champion could be a big help to programs and campaigns of the Justice department because he is well respected in Visayas and Mindanao.
Pacquiao, however, was not given any specific assignment.
Gonzalez recalled that he already was considering giving the popular boxing champion the honorary directorship of his department’s action center.

WASHINGTON -- The White House on Friday opened doors at online hot spots MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.
Content from US President Barack Obama's website WhiteHouse.gov is being fed in real time to White House profile pages at MySpace, Facebook and Twitter and members of those communities can sign up as friends or followers.
"Technology has profoundly impacted how -- and where -- we all consume information and communicate with one another," the White House said in a blog posting at WhiteHouse.gov titled "WhiteHouse 2.0."
"WhiteHouse.gov is an important part of the Administration's effort to use the Internet to reach the public quickly and effectively -- but it isn't the only place."
The blog posting referred to an Obama speech from a week earlier in which the president said the government needs to be more creative and transparent, and that he would "reach beyond the halls of government."
"Beginning today, users can connect directly with the Obama administration on a daily basis to stay informed and educated about the priorities and activities of the United States government," MySpace said.
"The community also provides users the opportunity to voice their thoughts and concerns directly to the White House by leaving comments and participating in discussion forums," the social network said in a statement.
Crowned the first "Internet president," Obama also has photos, videos and information available online at Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, and iTunes.

Swede indicted for hacking NASA

WASHINGTON -- A 21-year-old Swede was indicted on Tuesday on charges of hacking into the computer systems of NASA and US networking giant Cisco, the US Justice Department said.
Philip Gabriel Pettersson, also known as "Stakkato," was indicted on charges of intrusion and misappropriating trade secrets, the Justice Department said in a statement.
Pettersson was accused in the five-count indictment of breaking into the computer system and network of San Jose, California-based Cisco in May 2004 and stealing operating system code.
He allegedly broke into computers belonging to the US space agency NASA's Ames Research Center and the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division in Moffett Field, California, in May and October of the same year.
The Justice Department did not provide Pettersson's current whereabouts but said it will "continue to work cooperatively with the Swedish authorities on the case."
It said the maximum penalty for each charge of intrusion and theft of trade secrets is 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

Swine influenza A (H1N1) virus spreads same way as the seasonal flu. Flu viruses are spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing of people with influenza. Sometimes people may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose. Infected person can be able to infect others a day before the symptoms develop and up to 1 week or more after becoming infected. It means that the infected person can pass on the flu to someone before he know that he is sick, and as well as while he is sick.

Music website MUZU signs Universal deal

LONDON (Reuters) – MUZU.TV, an Irish-based video website which has won plaudits from the music industry for the way it pays artists when their music is played online, has signed a deal with the world's largest label Universal.
MUZU.TV, which has also signed deals with EMI, Sony BMG, the Ministry of Sound and Cooking Vinyl, says it is purpose-built to pay artists through advertising when their music is played.
Users can either watch music videos on the MUZU site, on artist sites or embed them into social networks.
On Tuesday MUZU announced it had signed a video license to show videos in Britain and Ireland for Universal's global artist repertoire, including the likes of Amy Winehouse and U2. Universal is owned by Vivendi.
It also said on Tuesday it was powering video for all Sony Music artists on the popular Bebo social network and it is the official partner on the Michael Jackson site for Britain and Ireland.
MUZU has been welcomed by the music industry which had previously criticized other sites such as YouTube for failing to properly compensate artists. The industry is also keen to develop their digital businesses as physical sales of CDs fall.

SEATTLE — Microsoft Corp.'s next version of its Office desktop programs will reach consumers next year, though not likely in conjunction with the Windows 7 operating system.Microsoft is set to announce Wednesday that Office 2010 will be finished and ready to send to manufacturers in the first half of next year.From there, it can take six weeks to four months or more for the programs to reach PC users, said Chris Capossela, a senior vice president in the Microsoft group that makes Office. The timing will differ for big businesses and individual consumers, and for people who buy packaged software versus those who download it.Some industry watchers had expected a new version of Office this year, but Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer extinguished that rumor at a meeting with analysts in February.Capossela declined to be more specific about a launch date. Windows 7, the successor to Windows Vista, is scheduled to reach consumers by the end of January 2010.Office 2010 — previously known by the code name "Office 14" — will include slimmed-down versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote that let people create and edit documents in a Web browser. Another shacking news about a 12 years old student was killed after her "floating school"was attacked by a crocodile in Buwanan, Agusan del Sur Province,Philippines last Tuesday afternoon.
It was reported that the 30-foot crocodile attacked the "floating school" carrying Rowena Romero, a classmate and a chaperone.According to Ruel Hipolan, of Save Mindanao Volunteers, The incident happen they were crossing Lake Mihaba at San Marcos village in Buwanan when the attack occured.Her headless body was recovered along with parts of the boat last Wednesday morning.

Just this morning when my family have breakfast we heard from the News about 17 year old boy killing 9 students, 3 teachers and 3 civilians in his former high school in Winnenden, Gemany - before he took his own life. It really scares us and worried for the safety our children especially now. How children at the young age expose to such violence and sometimes at sex. I remember the news last February about a young boy (Alfie Patten) became a father at the age of 13. Sometimes, we could not blame the children on what is happening to them. The adults are more responsible and great influence of such violence. They(children), need our guidance, love, understanding and support from us especially at their difficult times.

Nearly 200 whales beached in Australia

SYDNEY (AFP) – Nearly 200 whales and several dolphins have beached themselves on an island off southern Australia and a race is on to save the dozens of survivors, officials said Monday.
About 50 of 194 pilot whales and seven dolphins stranded on King Island between the mainland and Tasmania were still alive, Tasmania's Parks and Wildlife Service spokesman Chris Arthur said.
Although around 140 whales had already died, Arthur told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation he hoped some could be saved.
"These are fairly robust animals, pilot whales. We've experienced that in the past," he said.
Local residents have been at the scene since the whales began stranding themselves late Sunday, and rescuers were headed to the island in the Bass Strait, Arthur said.
The latest beaching takes the total number of whales stranded around Tasmania in the past four months to nearly 400.
More than 150 pilot whales died after beaching themselves on Tasmania's remote west coast in November and 48 sperm whales died in January on a sandbar off Perkins Island.
Tasmania, Australia's southern island state, experiences about 80 percent of whale beachings in the country, a phenomenon so far unexplained by science.
