The term Luteal Phase or the Post Ovulation Time is the amount of time between a female’s Ovulation Time up to the very first day of bleeding of the menstrual period. This is mostly fixed time in almost all women and being around 14 days.

The length of the Luteal Phase could vary by a day or more but for each woman the luteal phase length is exactly the same length of time each month. The average amount of time of the Luteal Phase is around 14 days but some women could have a luteal phase of 15 days and some of 13 but for most women it’s 14 days long. The length of the Luteal Phase is constant even in women that have irregular periods.

For those women that experience irregular monthly cycles, the irregular part is actually the time from the beginning of the cycle (1st day of bleeding) up until the time of ovulation. Once ovulated then the period is guaranteed to start some 13 to 15 days after as long as fertilisation has not happened.

Who knows how soon after conceiving a baby that you can start to have pregnancy symptoms? My period for the month of October started on the 8th and ended on Oct. 12th. My husband and I are really trying to have a child. 2 days ago I started to get sick to my stomach, I felt dizzy, had little headaches, and I am TIRED (I can just barely keep my eyes open), one minute I am hungry and then the next minute I don’t have the desire to even eat and when I do eat my food tastes a little different to me. My question is: Are these the early signs of pregnancy?

You can avoid acid reflux during pregnancy

Both acid reflux and heartburn symptoms can be very common in women when their pregnant. There are different factors behind this. There are steps that can be taken to relieve the terrible symptoms of acid reflux during pregnancy.

Hormonal changes is one of big reason behind the appearance of both acid reflux and heartburn in pregnant women. The ligaments which keep the LES functioning correctly tend to soften during the pregnancy. This make the acid come out of your stomach and then into your esophagus.

A major factor as to why acid reflux is part and parcel of being pregnant is because of the fact that the baby is growing inside. As the baby grows over a period of months, more pressure is placed on the woman’s stomach. The pressure on the stomach forces the contents of the stomach to leak into the esophagus.

There are steps that can be taken which will lessen the degree of acid reflux during a woman’s pregnancy.

Certain foods can bring on heartburn. By reducing these foods or even cutting them out completely a pregnant woman can reduce the risks of what is called severe reflux. Foods which are fried or spicy or high in fat and are acidic all play a big part in increasing the risks of acid reflux symptoms.

Eating big meals can increase heartburn. And in most cases heartburn shows up after eating a substantial meal. The amount of the food that is consumed in one sitting will be the deciding factor on how much of the stomach acid is produced. If you eat smaller meals more frequently all through the day is much more beneficial for your stomach, than eating those large meals.

Do not eat for a few hours before going to bed. Otherwise your stomach will still contain some acid while you sleep. And if you lie flat when you sleep, the acid has a much easier time to travel up into your esophagus. Also you should try to make sure that both your shoulders and head are in elevated positions as you sleep. This will help stop the acid from traveling up your throat and into your mouth.

More pressure on your stomach during your pregnancy and the higher the risks of getting acid reflux symptoms. You need to avoid wearing any clothes that squeeze into your waist area. Trying to keep your body in good posture, and making sure your the knees are always bent when you are reaching to the floor.

There is nobody that likes to suffer from those symptoms of heartburn and of acid reflux. It’s harder when you have acid reflux while pregnant, especially while they have to put up with so many other things.

When you are waiting to see what the sex of your baby will be, check out the Chinese conception chart, this is a fun way to take a guess. This Chinese conception chart has been around for quite a few centuries and experts say it was found in a royal tomb. Currently it is in the Beijing Institute of Science in the country of China on display.

This chart is not completely accurate. The method of determining gender uses the womans age and month of conception. The most accurate results use lunar months instead of the regular months. These months run about 29 days.

You can just look at the ages themselves and come to an idea whether or not you will have a boy or girl or not. The ages are ranged from 18 to 45. On the chart the ages more likely of having a girl are 21, 22, 30, 31, 32, and 34. If you are 18, 20, 23, 26, 31, or 43, you are more likely to have a boy. However, there are some ages where there is no higher percentage of one more than the other. These ages are 28, 29, 35, 40, 42, and 45. If you are 19, 24, or 33, there is a 7 to 5 odd that you will have a girl. It is not as definite as the other ages but it is still more likely than having a boy. The exact opposite of having a boy with the same odds 25, 27, 36, 37, 41, and 44.

Based on the conception month the odds on what sex your baby will be change. The months do not have as many one way or the other odds. January, February, May, and October each have 3 to 4 odds of being a boy. April has a to 3 to 4 odds in favor of being a girl. June, August, September, and November are all 15 to 13 in favor of a girl. March and December both have a fifty -fifty chance of your baby being a boy or girl. The only odd month is July where the odds are outstandingly in favor of having a boy at 9 to 19 according to the chart.

The chances of having a boy or girl varies from age to conception month. In some areas it is predictable, but like with the actuality of having a baby it really is fifty-fifty. The odds when looking at age vary a little more than conception month. Either way, the chart leans more towards having a boy than girl. That may be just the Chinese’s obsession with having boys, though.

The Chinese conception chart is a fun thing to use when pregnant. It is interesting to find out if the chart was correct or not. It is always curious to look behind the chart at the overall chances. This is not scientific though and has no basis other than to have fun. Although, it sometimes proves accurate that does not mean you should get your hopes up that whatever you fall into will bring you a boy or girl. Do not get ahead of yourself when using this chart. Always, see your doctor about the sex of your baby.

I am planning on finally starting my family in a few years {God willing} and I have been reviewing my diet recently, I am pretty slim but I don’t eat much junk food. I have begun my healthy eating regime as of today.
But just how important is healthy eating to get pregnant, how much does it affect my fertility?
Thanks you in advance!

A lot of guys would love it if they could make like one of the characters in Scary Movie and ejaculate so much that they plaster their girlfriends against the ceiling. And although that won’t likely be happening anytime soon, it’s believed that wheat germ increases seminal output. Bon appétit.
(Butter’s note: I only tried it once and it thickened my load like I’ve rarely seen before. Eat with oatmeal for better results)
Amino acids are believed to increase ejaculate fluid (not the amount of actual sperm necessarily) if taken regularly. Some amino acids include:
L-ARGININE HCL
Studies show sperm and semen volume doubles, fertility improves (even among men with low sperm counts or poor sperm motility), and sperm health and activity increase with supplementation. Arginine is found in high concentrations in nuts and seeds like peanuts and almonds. It can also be found in chocolate and raisins. Some Natural Sources: Nuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, chocolate, popcorn, raisins, brown rice, carob, gelatin desserts, oatmeal, whole wheat bread, and protein rich foods.
L-LYSINE
Researchers find that this amino acids plus zinc increases sperm produced, stimulates testosterone production, and improves semen quality.
EPIMEDIUM SAGITTATUM
Sometimes called “horny goat weed,” this botanical boosts libido and testosterone levels for greater sperm production for a strong ejaculation.
ZINC OXIDE
Has been shown to increase number of sperm and sperm motility by 80% to 200% by aiding testosterone synthesis.
L-CARNITINE
This amino acid is found in high concentrations in healthy sperm. Proven to significantly increase the percentage of highly motile sperm.
CATUABA BARK
Brazilian herb that strengthens the libido, and nourishes the entire male reproductive system.
PUMPKIN SEED
Supports prostate health and hormonal production. While they may not readily increase sperm volume, they do enhance prostate health and testosterone production.
MACA
Legendary South American botanical proven to promote libido, potency and energy.
Ginseng Y
ohimbe bark
Vitamin C, E
Magnesium
(Butter’s note: Lecithin added daily increases amount, not thickness)
Zinc has been shown to improve both the amount of sperm you produce and the sperm’s ability to move spontaneously and independently. Coupled with amino acids (see above), this will increase sperm volume significantly.
(Butter’s note: Not as miraculous as they make it sound, but regular zinc intake (50mgs a day) does increase quantity somewhat.)
Whatever a pill company’s claims are, you can probably do just as well with zinc and lecithin supplements. (Use zinc supplements in moderation; too much zinc intake can be dangerous.) For some guys, these nutrients do have a noticeable effect on ejaculation volume, and they’re a lot cheaper and easier to get. In general, stay away from mail-order pills sold by less-than-reputable companies; you really don’t know what’s in them, and their claims are almost always untrue or at least greatly exaggerated.
PC Exercises:
While Kegel exercises can help you last longer, they can also aid in increasing sperm volume. There are a host of exercises you can do to keep your penis in great shape and shoot like a champion.
(Butter’s note: PC muscle exercises have proven to help reduce prostate troubles in advancing age, but I have yet to see improvements in my ejaculate’s volume through this method)
Frequency of sexual activity also contributes to volume — although only to a certain degree. If you abstain for a day or two, you’ll certainly produce more sperm than you would ejaculating every few hours. But any longer than this one- to two-day timeframe, and you won’t see much of a difference, as semen reservoirs will have stopped building up a supply.
(Butter’s note: True, the body will evacuate excess semen through urine & etc. so abstinence over 3 or 4 days will not continue increase of quantity. Usually, 2 or 3 days should be enough to reach maximum potential… but there are exceptions!)
And for those of you who wrote in asking if semen is a good source of protein, its protein content is roughly equivalent to that found in the egg white of a large egg. So you’re probably best off sticking with the eggs.
Consistency of semen isn’t very consistent; you’ve probably noticed that the thickness of your ejaculate can vary from day to day. This is because the quality of the fluid is very susceptible to a number of factors. Diet, exercise and frequency of sex can all dictate how thick or watery your emissions are, as can the tightness of the clothes that you wear (tight clothing will increase body temperature and can thus impact sperm motility.
While there is a lack of supporting scientific evidence, a number of ingredients are said to help thicken up semen. Because of their protein content, egg whites and gelatin are often recommended. Wheat germ, omega-3 oils, selenium, and zinc are all also believed to improve consistency.
(Butter’s note: Tomato-based products, soy-based products, oatmeal, and celery have also proven to help thicken the load, at least in my case!)
Vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and essential fatty acids are found in the prostate in high levels, and are all necessary to produce semen. Low zinc levels have been connected to decreased production of seminal fluids, as well as lower testosterone levels. A healthy balance of nutrients is important for maintaining vascular health as well, which improves your ability to achieve and maintain erections. There isn’t a need to go popping extra vitamins if you are already eating a diet rich in nutrients, particulary from fruits and vegetables. Essential fatty acids are found in certain kinds of fish (like salmon) and nuts.
Celery is one of food products known to have great properties for sexual stimulation. It contains androsterone, an odor free hormone which is very inviting for women. Raw celery is the best way to increase that desire.
Oysters are rich in zinc and are know to increase sperm and testosterone production. It contains dopamine which increases the sexual desire.
Bananas, Avocado and Almond or other nuts are some of the other food products which help in this matter.
10 Ways you can increase Your sperm count:
1. Have sex & masturbate less often – the more times you ejaculate, the less dense your semen will be. Maintain a gap of 3 days between two consecutive ejaculations.
2. Refrain from habits like smoking, alcohol consumption etc. – Alcohol affects your liver function, which, in turn, causes a dramatic rise in estrogen levels. Even two drinks a day will have long-term effects on sperm production
3. Exercise regularly.Exercising your PC muscle can help you shoot further than ever before.Read How to Exercise your PC muscles at http://www.ayurvediccure.com/penis_enlar…
4. Eat Nutritious Food – Diet that’s low in fat, and high in protein, vegetables, and whole grains is good for your health and for your sperm. Avoid bitter, astringent and spicy foods.Reduce caffeine intake
5. Avoid heating of testicles – Wear loose, cotton boxer shorts, Avoid hot baths and saunas
6. Lose any excess weight, which tends to cause testosterone/oestrogen imbalances.
7. Reduce stress levels by learning relaxation techniques – Keep your mind and body healthy by regular practice of YOGA and MEDITATION.
8. Massage body with herbal oil, which improves blood circulation. Try Penis Massage Oil available at http://www.ayurvediccure.com/penis_enlar…
9. Try supplements – Certain natural supplements promise to increase sperm production.
10. Make love in the early morning or afternoon. Sperm levels are often highest in the mornings.http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bbb-01-/http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BBB-HJ-03/
————————————–…
from http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/causes…
Causes for LOW sperm count:
Testicular Exposure to Overheating.
Overheating (such as from high fever, saunas, and hot tubs) may temporarily lower sperm count. Work exposure to overheating may even impair fertility.
Substance Abuse
Cocaine or heavy marijuana use appears to temporarily reduce the number and quality of sperm by as much as 50%. Sperm actually have receptors for certain compounds in marijuana that resemble natural substances and which may impair the sperm’s ability to swim and may also inhibit their ability to penetrate the egg.
Smoking.
Smoking impairs sperm count, sperm motility, reduces sperm lifespan, and may cause genetic changes that affect the offspring. Additionally, a 1999 study found that men who smoke have lower sex drives and less frequent sex.
Malnutrition and Nutrient Deficiencies.
Deficiencies in certain nutrients, such as vitamin C, selenium, zinc, and folate, may be particular risk factors for low sperm count in such cases.
Obesity.
Some studies, but not all, have found an association between obesity in men and low sperm count.
Bicycling.
Bicycling has been linked to impotence in men and also may affect the sperm count. Pressure from the bike seat may damage blood vessels and nerves that are responsible for erections. Mountain biking, which involves riding on off-road terrain, exposes the perineum (the region between the scrotum and the anus) to more extreme shocks and vibrations and increases the risk for injuries to the scrotum.
Genetic Factors
Genetic factors are proving to be important contributors to male infertility. Such genetic conditions may be inherited or caused by environmental assaults. Inherited disorders can genetically impair fertility.
Environmental Assaults
Over exposure to environmental assaults (toxins, chemicals, infections) can reduce sperm count either by direct effects on testicular function or on the hormone systems, although the extent of the effect and specific environmental assaults involved are often controversial. Some chemicals that affect sperm production men are : Oxygen-Free Radicals, Estrogen emulation pesticidal chemicals (DDT, aldrin, dieldrin, PCPs, dioxins, and furans ), plastic softening chemicals like Phthalates, hydrocarbons (ethylbenzene, benzene, toluene, and xylene)
Exposure to Heavy Metals.
Chronic exposure to heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, or arsenic may affect sperm production and most often cause a reduced production in otherwise healthy males. Trace amounts of these metals in semen seem to inhibit the function of enzymes contained in the acrosome, the membrane that covers the head of the sperm.
Radiation Treatment.
Radiation treatments and x-rays affect any rapidly dividing cell, so cells that produce sperm are quite sensitive to radiation damage. Cells exposed to significant levels of radiation may take up to two years to resume normal sperm production, and, in severe circumstances, may never recover.
Low Semen Levels
A reduced amount of ejaculated semen (less than 0.5 milliliters per sample) may be caused by a structural abnormality in the tubes transporting the sperm.
Varicocele
A varicocele is a varicose vein in the cord that connects to the testicle. (A varicose vein is one that is abnormally enlarged and twisted.) Varicoceles are found in 15% to 20% of all men and in 25% to 40% of infertile men. It is not clear how they affect fertility, or even if they do at all.

Sperm prefer alkaline conditions so it is best to have a high percentage of your diet to consist of alkaline foods. The Food Standards Agency (FSA undated: a) recommends eating a variety of foods while trying to conceive, including:
• Fruit and vegetables – these can be fresh, frozen, tinned, dried or a glass of juice. Aim for at least five portions a day.
• Carbohydrate foods such as bread, pasta, rice and potatoes.
• Protein such as lean meat and chicken, fish, eggs and pulses (beans and lentils).
• Fish, at least twice a week, including some oily fish, but don’t have more than two portions of oily fish a week. This includes fresh tuna (not canned tuna, which does not count as oily fish), mackerel, sardines and trout.
• Dairy foods such as milk, cheese and yoghurt, which contain calcium.
• Iron rich foods, such as red meat, pulses, dried fruit, bread, green vegetables and fortified breakfast cereals, to build up your resources of iron in preparation for pregnancy.
It helps your body to absorb iron if you have some food or drink containing vitamin C, such as fruit or vegetables, or a glass of fruit juice with any iron-rich meals.
Take a vitamin supplement
