To start with draw four different sized oval shapes and place them like in the sample below.

Step 2:

Now add four long vertical rectangles like in the sample below.  This will give us the basic guide for our piglet.

Step 3:

Now using our guide from step 2 we need to give our pig some features and also draw in the actual outline of the pig like below.

Step 4:

Now draw around the outline in a darker tone and remove all unwanted marks leaving you with a clean image.

Step 5:

Your now ready to add some shading to your drawing like below.

Start with two different sized circles like below.  Sample 1 will be our guide for a full face view and sample 2 a side view profile.

Step 2:

We need to now mark out where the features will go.  Study the samples below and see how the linear guide will help.

Step 3:

You can see how the linear guide helps us to draw in the features.

Step 4:

We can now add the cheeks, jaw, ears and hair.

Sketch a small circle and an oval and place them like below.

Step 2:
Now sketch a triangular shape on top of the oval creating a guide for the birds wings.  And also sketch in a rectangular shape for the tail. (see below)

Step 3:
Now that we have our basic layout down add some legs and start to add detail like in sample 3 below.

Step 4:
Once your happy with the way your bird looks draw around him in a darker tone and  erase all unwanted lines.

Step 5:
Now for the fun part, add some color!

Start by sketching four different shapes and overlap them like in sample 1.

Step 2:

Now we need to draw in a guide for where the legs will go.  Sample 2  (below) shows how we can achieve this by using some more shapes.

Step 3:

Now that we have our basic guide sketched down we now need to draw in the actual outline of the horse.  (see below)

Step 4:

Once the actual outline of the horse is sketched in you will now need to start going around it again but with a darker tone and remove any unwanted lines.

Step 5:

Now that we have a clean image to work with we can now begin to add some shading.

Step 6:

See how a little shading can bring it to life.

Step 1:

Draw two ovals, one small and one large and position them like below.

Step 2:

Now add some more shapes like below.  This will give us the basic guide for our penguin.

Step 3:

Now start to draw in the actual outline of the penguin and add some other details like the eye and feet.

Step 4:

Once happy with your drawing begin to erase some of the unwanted lines.

Step 5:

Draw around your penguin using a darker toned pencil then clean your image with an eraser removing all unwanted lines so your left with a nice clean image like below.

Step 6:

Now your ready to do some rendering!

Step 1:

Start by drawing a thin elipse like in the top of sample 1.  Then add a square type shape below it creating a cup like shape.  You will then want to draw a long jagged line with a couple of lines coming off it.   Sample 2 shows why the jagged lines were necessary, these are for the stem and the leaves.  Sample 2 also shows some arcs at the top these are guides for the petals that you will see in step 2.

Step 2:

Now start to add more details like in sample 3.  Once happy you’re ready to go around the whole image in a darker tone and remove all unwanted lines like in sample 4

Step 3:

Now your ready to add some color to your rose drawing.

Start by sketching a letter M shape and an upside down V shape, like shown below.

Step 2:

The shape of an angel wing is almost tear drop shape so you now want to create this shape like below.

Step 3:

Decide which shape to use, (the M or upside down V shape)  I chose to work with the  M shape.   So now that we have our basic template down we can start to work into it and create the actual shape and add feathers e.t.c   Notice I’ve added two additional lines in sample 5 and sample 6 shows two dark lines.  The dark lines indicate the fold in the wings.

Step 4:

Now your ready to add feathers and erase all unwanted marks.  Note:  The feathers towards the bottom are always much longer than the rest.

Step 5:

Now shade them in.  (see below)

Draw two circles and overlap them like in sample 1.   Then draw in some lines like in sample 2.  These lines will be used as a guide when adding the features..

Step 2:

Once you’ve mapped out where the features will go you can start to add detail like in sample 4.

Step 3:

Now erase the guide and shade in your skull.

Step 4:

Step1:

A butterfly basically consists of three shapes, a triangle, oval and a cone. So what you need to do is sketch out these shapes like below and then position them like in sample 2.

Step 2:

The shapes are to be used as a guide and now that you have the basic shape down you can start to add detail. So now what you need to do is erase the lines that overlap like in sample 3, and using the shapes as a guide you can draw in your own wing and body shapes.

Step 3:

Now erase the guide and add a pattern within the wings like in sample 6.

Step 4:

It is important to have a clean image before you start to add color.  So you may want to consider drawing around the whole image with a much neater line and erase any unwanted lines or marks, like in sample 7.
