I always pay special attention to the fathers of the bride on a wedding day. I think sometimes with the excitement of the day they can be forgotten. I admire them with their quiet emotion.

There are two main reasons my thoughts tend to go their way.

My father’s passing led me to photography. I didn’t see it at the time but it’s obvious now.

I am now a father of a beautiful baby girl. One day (long from now) I hope to be that father.

Kevin, this slideshow is for you. I was honored to photograph YOUR daughter’s day. I know what you said is true. It will be here in the blink of an eye.

Now that Tammy and Jeff’s wedding is in the past I can finally post a few from Tammy’s bridal session a few months ago. We spent a little time in the heat in Haggard Park of downtown Plano. Had a great time as always with Tammy and these are a few that I especially like.

Sarah and Matt are married and off to Italy for their amazing honeymoon tomorrow. They had a beautiful wedding and reception today at Valley Ranch Baptist Church. I’m back early copy images from their wedding with Sydney and wanted to go ahead and pop a couple online. I’ll have a longer blog post from their wedding later.

Couple must be engaged (ring and all) and have a set the wedding date
Wedding date must be no later than 12/31/2011
Engagement session may not be father than 45 miles from Holland Photo Studio (in Frisco)
Must sign $0 (zero dollar) portrait session contract within 7 days of your inquiry
Engagement session date must decided and scheduled within 30 days of commitment
Session may only be rescheduled for inclement weather or at the discretion of the studio
Couple must NOT have contracted their official wedding photographer yet (I don’t want to compete or take business away from your current photographer)

Back Home with the iPhone 4-Creativity in Hand

My sixth month experiment with android devices is now over. Lee and I ditched our droids on bay and switched to the iPhone 4 on launch day. I’ll get more into specifics later, but for me the iPhone allows creativity in a more natural way. I’m hooked on quick iPhone shots edited in the phone with 99 cent apps. So cool!

I’ll be reviewing them all here in the coming weeks. Here is one from our weekend in the mountains in Arkansas last weekend.

Wedding Photography Slideshow-RAW, Unedited and REALLY Fast

I was starting the edit for Lauren and Trevor’s wedding and thought of an idea for a way to show an entire wedding’s worth of images really fast. No bride and groom wants to sit down and go through over 2,000 images, at least not the usual way! These pics will be edited down to about a third for the final set to go to the bride and groom.

Ft. Worth Wedding Photography:Landrie and Jon

You may remember Landrie and Jon from our windy engagement session a little while back.

We beat the rain at the Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens and had an amazing celebration at Joe T. Garcia’s special private chapel in Ft. Worth.

These guys are really what it’s all about for me. They are two people that know who they are and aren’t afraid to show love and kindness to the people around them. Shooting for them was an affirmation of why I do what I do. I’m so happy to have these skills and the opportunity to make life lasting images for people at a launch point in their lives. Doing this for people that whole-heartedly appreciate the uniqueness of my take on photography…the highest honor.

Landrie and Jon…I hope to hear from you guys for a long time to come!

McKinney Engagement Photography:Tammy and Doc

Tammy and Doc are both colleagues of my wife in the Dallas Police Department. They aren’t just police, but are two of the good ones. Tammy and Doc are out there every day in this crazy city called Dallas doing the work that most of us don’t even want to think about.

Thank you guys, both for the work you do for civilians as well as keeping your fellow officers like my wife safe.

Their wedding is coming up fast and I couldn’t be more excited to be there. Since they’re friends of Lee, this will be the first time she’s at a wedding that I’m shooting…hopefully Sydney will tag along too!

We spent an evening in McKinney making these pictures a couple of weeks ago and I hope you guys had as much fun as I did…especially the bagpiping firemen in the pub afterwords!
