Did you know that April 13th was High Aspirations, Inc.’s Twitterversary?

Neither did I! But Twitter did! And, they even sent me an email saying I had just turned 2 and wishing me a Happy Twitterversary! How sweet of them to remember!

That email made me smile and when you get right down to it, it’s the good feeling your readers get when they read your emails, posts, and Tweets that remind them why they did business with you in the first place, subscribed, liked, and/or followed you.

So, remember to share a little love among all your other postings and mailings. Yes, it’s all business, but does it all have to be business? You might be surprised how just having a little fun gets you remembered!

Lenovo Recalls ThinkPad Battery Packs

Lenovo has recalled the battery packs sold with ThinkPad notebook computers the Edge 11, 13, and 14 series, the T410, T420, T510, and W510 series, and the X100e, X120e, X200, X201, and X201s series. The recalled battery packs were also sold separately. Look for part numbers starting with the fourth digit on a white sticker below the bar code: 42T4695, 42T4711, 42T4798, 42T4804, 42T4812, 42T4822, 42T4828, 42T4834, 42T4840 and 42T4890.

Consumers should immediately turn off their ThinkPad and remove the battery pack and contact Lenovo for a free replacement.

WordPress 3.9 Released

On April 16, 2014, WordPress version 3.9 was released.

All High Aspirations, Inc. clients on maintenance, or currently in the active design phase, will be upgraded as time and their maintenance schedule allows.

If you don’t currently have a maintenance agreement with us, don’t hesitate to contact us for one or for a project price to get your site updated and secure.

Anyone tackling the upgrade on their own should make a full backup of their site and database before beginning.

Do you want to add Online Chat to your website?

I just finished setting up Zopim for a client who wanted to add online chat to her website.

Zopim works with WordPress powered and static (HTML) websites. They offer free, basic, and advance plans, don’t lock you into a contract, and give you a free 14-day trial.

If anyone wants to add online chat to their website, let me know.

You can now add a Pinterest Widget to your website that will show your latest pins.

This is a great tool to keep your website as a focal point for all your social media connectivity as well as direct traffic to your Pinterest account.

This widget works with both personal and business Pinterest accounts.

And, it auto-updates so it always shows your latest pins.

St. Matthias Parish School Website Redesign

Long, long overdue announcement of the redesigned St. Matthias Parish School website.

Their new WordPress powered website went live on June 14, 2013 so that the staff would have the summer to get comfortable logging in and learning how to use all their new features and functionality before students arrived in September. While that was happening, High Aspirations, Inc. continued to add content and make the website what you see now! Go take a look!

Free Graphics now on Pinterest

Effective immediately, whenever we have free graphics to share they will be posted on our Pinterest boards. I no longer have the time to manage an entire website just for our freebies, but I don’t have the heart to stop doing them altogether since every once in a while I hear from someone who loves them!

For now, the Free Graphics by High Aspirations, Inc. website will remain up and running, but I do not know for how much longer. It must be maintained and the software powering it kept up to date to avoid security issues so it will not be up forever.

The free graphics will still be announced via Tech Talk’s Free Graphics Category so you can continue to find them via our blog.
