Nicki Minaj has no problem discussing her life or setting records straight. In a sit down with E! Online, Nicki let’s everyone know that her life is an open book and hopes that her fans realize that she is not her industry persona 24/7.

She also talks about the deadlines imposed on her as an American Idol judge. Nicki jokes about having to insert discipline back in her life and showing up withinthe alloted show schedule.

Nicki also discusses her work ethic and why she pushes herself so hard to stay at the top of her game.

“I will always remember when I didn’t really have anything and I had to work really really hard, and I always promised myself that I would never stop working that hard.”

A California judge grants Miley Cyrus a restraining order against a 40-year-old Jason Luis Rivera. The 3-year civil restraining sought out by Cyrus after Rivera was convicted in October for trespassing at her Los Angeles home.

Rivera has been serving an 18-month sentence and is will spend his days sitting in jail until May 2013. Police caught Rivera running into a wall of Miley’s home in an alleged attempt to break in while carrying scissors.

Totally weird. Good for you Miley for getting a restraining order on this guy.

With a week left of campaigning, President Barack Obama cut his campaigning short and rushed back to D.C. to convene with government agencies and officials about Hurricane Sandy. The president delivered a statement to the nation today to warn the public that “this is going to be a big and powerful storm,” and assured the nation that we are ready to handle it. He also urged people to heed the warnings and advice of their state and local officials.

“When they tell you to evacuate, you need to evacuate. Do not delay, don’t pause, don’t question the instructions that are being given because this is a serious storm and it could potentially have fatal consequences if people haven’t acted quickly.”

At the close of his speech, a question came through and a reporter asked the president, “What about the impact on the election, sir?”

Obama answered as follows:

I am not worried at this point about the impact on the election. I’m worried about the impact on families, and I’m worried about the impact on our first responders, I’m worried about the impact on our economy, and on transportation.

The election will take care of itself next week. Right now our number one priority is to make sure that we are saving lives, that our search and rescue teams are going to be in place, that people are going to be able to get the food, the water, the shelter they need in case of [an] emergency and that we respond as soon as possible to get the economy back on track.”

Man I tell you, Romney’s quotes are better than GWB‘s quotes. In the midst of a “super storm” that will affect pretty much the ENTIRE Eastern seaboard, one of Romney’s quotes is coming back to haunt him.

Remember when he said that it was “immoral” to provide disaster relief stating that, “We can’t afford those things?”

LISTEN CLOSELY PEOPLE.

Think about all the people affected from hurricanes Irene and Katrina, the earthquake that hit the east coast last year and even now hurricane Sandy is closing in New York and New Jersey with a vengeance.

How can Mitt Romney fix his mouth to say that disaster relief is immoral when people are at their weakest during these times? They are often without power, have to withstand freezing or escalated temperatures, and are often forced to evacuate from the comfort of their homes.

‘We can’t afford’ disaster relief? How about the fact that ‘we cannot afford’ to have someone in office who will not come to the aid of people affected by a nor’easter, hurricane, flood, tornado, or raging forest fires? How about ‘we cannot afford’ to have a natural disaster under a Romney/Ryan administration. He continues to say, “Leave it to the states,” but what about those states that are already tapped dry? Or can he see that many states are already suffering from his mountain top?

Albeit, Romney’s quote was said over a year ago during a GOP debate; however, how many people affect by this current storm, or storms to come, will be depending on government programs such as Homeland Security, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Transportation, and of course FEMA to assist them through natural disasters? That means no food, no clean water, no shelter, no transportation, no medical supplies or assistance, and no help to rebuild your communities.

I guess providing federal disaster relief is just one of the programs that Mitt Romney plans to cut if he gets into office. Looks like we’re on our own folks.

Think about that when you’re at the polls this week.

Talk about dirty politics… In this audio clip, at the 0:16 mark, you can hear Governor Mitt Romney is speaking to business leaders urging them to tell their employees how to vote.

“I hope you make it very clear to your employees what you believe is in the best interest of your enterprise and therefore their job and their future in the upcoming elections. Nothing illegal about you talking to your employees about what you believe is best for the business, because I think that will figure into their election decision, their voting decision.”

I’m sorry but that screams Manipulation 101. Whomever my employer thinks I should vote for has no bearing on who I will actually vote for.

Unfortunately, there are companies and employers who are all too willing to take Mitt up on his offer. For example, Koch Industries has taken this information to heart sending a letter to its 50,000+ employees stating that employees “may suffer the consequences” if they vote for certain candidates.

Really? What consequences? From whom? Talk about bullying your employees and abusing authority. To top it off, the package from Koch contains gifts (wallet cards) for employees to use for shopping privileges. Are we now buying employee votes Koch? Wow.

Listen, voting is personal, voting is your right, whether you decide to exercise it or now, and whomever you vote for is your business.

Get informed and vote based on your findings of the things that speak to you, not because someone is bullying you toward a certain party, and not because of some wack swag bag from your so called employer.

The turnout for early voters has already surpassed the 1 million mark. Despite reports earlier this year sating that Democrats had lost interest in this election, the polls show that the Democrats are currently in the lead.

Michael McDonald, a political science professor at George Mason University states,

“Registered Democrats are voting at levels that are either equal to or exceeding the 2008 elections as a percentage of votes cast so far.”

If you watched the presidential and vice presidential debates, you may be surprised that Democrats have taken an early lead. Many people were put off by President Obama’s seemingly laid back approach to the first round of debates and believed that Mitt Romney won hands down. In the following debate with Vice President Joe Biden and hopeful Paul Ryan, viewers felt that Biden was bullying the younger Ryan and not behaving like a VP. Others believe that both parties are tied.

Fracis Wilkinson, an editorial board member of Bloomberg View says that voting early indicates some people had their minds made up before hearing out both sides.

“The willingness to vote early, before all the innings are played, is an affront to democratic discourse. It signals that minds are closed to new information. That may be an accurate reflection of American politics – not only in our especially polarized era but in previous ones as well.

“Partisanship is an essential feature of our politics. But it’s not a vision we should endorse and institutionalize with early voting. Democracy, like a Hollywood movie, requires a certain suspension of disbelief. We know in reality that not every American’s vote is equal.”

Laws allowing early voting vary by states; however the official results will not be tallied for another three weeks on Election Day (November 6). So in a nutshell, “it ain’t over till the fat lady sings,” so get out there and vote!
