Madonna visited a few of the workers who were injured in an accident in which three people were killed during an assembly of a music stage for the singer.

Madonna’s concert in the French port of Marseilles was scheduled for Sunday evening but was immediately canceled after the collapse of the stage at the Velodrome stadium.

The roof of the stage collapsed and trapped workers underneath killing one man instantly.

The next stop on her tour is in Barcelona, Spain, on Tuesday.

Ne-Yo had what many are calling a meltdown during a concert in Manchester, but he has cleared up the confusion explaining that he was feeling quite ill but tried to ignore it:

“Basically, I have an issue with not knowing when to say enough is enough, so last night in Manchester, my body said it for me.

I got on stage energized and ready to go, even tho for the last 5 days I’ve been dealing with a sinus infection. I paid it no real mind, and kept on going, like I always do. My voice couldn’t take it. From the first song I knew something was wrong. I shoulda stopped there, but I come from a school where no matter what, the show must go on…

I’ve never had to stop a show, never dreamed I’d ever have to. So when I had to walk out on that stage and tell 12,000 of the people responsible for making me who I am that I could not perform for them, it literally broke my heart. I cried harder than I have in a very long time with no shame whatsoever…

To anyone out there that would like to question my manhood because of this I’ll say this to you: If the one thing you cared about more than anything else in the world was threatened or even taken from you, if you knew that the people you cared for the most you had to disappoint and it was your fault… and this didn’t spark some kind of emotional outbreak within you…then with no shame I’ll say you are truly a stronger man than I.”

So there you have it.

It had nothing to do with Michael Jackson, as some thought he broke down singing MJ songs, so it is what it is. The man is human, people cry. They get sick and it’s whatever.

I know many people think being a diva negative, or is associated with a singer or actress, but IMO a diva is fabulous, successful and powerful.

With that said, I’m going to have to say my first choice will be the ladies of Charlie’s Angels, Farrah Fawcett (RIP), Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson. They were fierce, fashionable and could kick your butt if you got out of line. For that, these ladies go on my list of fierce independent divas.

This lady peaked my interest with her activist ways and her radical mind. Her involvement in politics as a black woman of the 70s was inspiring as she overcame racism and incarceration. This lady is a true diva IMO (yes I’m going to redefine the word lol).

What starts off as a prank call could possibly turn into an opportunity.

Bow Wow calls the headquarters of the White Castle food chain to ask why the burgers cost so much during the recession.

He ended the call by telling the customer service rep that he loves the food chain and he frequents their restaurants. Will he get a commercial deal from it? Who knows. If not, he just gave White Castle a free commercial.

Last night, Coogie Cruz and I headed over to the 20th Anniversary Showing of “Do The Right Thing” at the Fox Theatre after leaving the Car & Bike Show.

There was a wonderful turnout as people filed into the Fox to watch the movie and afterward find out from Spike himself, as well as the movie’s producers, what exactly went into the creation and the making of this movie and what keeps it relevant 20 years later.

If by some odd act of nature you’ve never seen the movie, here’s the movie summary:

It’s 1989, the hottest day of the summer. You can do nothing, you can do something, or you can…”Do the Right Thing.” Directed by visionary filmmaker Spike Lee, “Do the Right Thing” is one of the most thought-provoking and groundbreaking films of the last 20 years.

The controversial story centers around one scorching inner-city day, when racial tensions reach the boiling point in a tough Brooklyn neighborhood. Featuring over four hours of bonus features, a digitally remastered picture and new 5.1 surround sound audio, “Do the Right Thing 20th Anniversary Edition” captures an unforgettable piece of American history.

Do you remember the movie’s opening with Rosie Perez showing off her Fly Girl moves?

The reoccurring theme song throughout the movie was Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power.” The song was very controversial and that’s just what Spike Lee wanted.

Here are some of the lyrics:

In fact, because of the nature of the movie the intensity of certain scenes, as well as the musical content, critics all over the country claimed people would riot in the theaters. Riot they said. Please, I along with many others watched the movie in a jam packed theater with people cheering and crying at various scenes of this movie. It created room for conversation, not rioting. The critics were off the mark.

They thought the movie would cause chaos and disorder, when in fact, the movie shed light on some very serious, very touchy subjects: racism, prejudice and police brutality.

The Q&A session really could have been insightful, but some were too busy trying to get autographs and hand off their scripts to Spike. He turned them down with finesse, but overall the event was a great experience.

I don’t know the exact amount but it was PACKED and crazy.

The cars were off the chain.

I couldn’t get close to many because die hard car buffs were surrounding them, but here are a few that I saw.(It was impossible to take a pic without people in it so please excuse my horrible editing.)

The small colorful car that says ‘hi-fi’ was being shined by little kids. Now either some child has a hooked up car, or someone needs to be reminded of the child labor laws. LOL

I tried to get a pic of Sean Garrett’s S DOt Chevy, but couldn’t get close enough. Oh well, maybe next time.

This year V-103 brought out some of Atlanta’s favorite people to perform: Bobby Valentino, GS BoyZ, Trey Songz, Young Joc, Jeremih, Mario, Sean Garrett, Gucci Man, The Dream and Busta Rhymes.

Various vendors helped kick off the event including Butler Tires and Wheels, Boost Mobile, RIMCO, Direct Auto Insurance, Aaron’s and more.

Although it was an eventful and fun time, I was a little peeved at the young folks who had small children close to the stage with the woofers and tweeters blowing out their ear drums. Not to mention, I didn’t bring my children because they serve alcohol. And we all know that when people start drinking they start acting crazy, plus they litter:

Oh, and I was too through with the people who lost track of their children. Luckily V-103 was quick to announce lost children and would put pics up on the jumbo screens as well as announce lost children.

My people, my people, I don’t know what I was more upset at, people not keeping an eye on their kids in such a crowded environment, or the fact that the little boy identified himself as “Boogie.” Please people, hold on to your children at crowded events like this, and please make sure they know the difference between their nicknames and their real names. *sigh*

BTW, I tried to capture some video for you guys, but my cam just isn’t built for all that. Plus it’s hard to focus with teens pushing and trying to get closer to the stage.

I’ve been listening to Trey Songz’s mixtape “Anticipation” and I’m most def feeling it. Two of my favorite cuts that stand out are “Yo Side of the Bed” and “Scratchin Me Up,” but for the most part I like the whole CD.
