There are cases when people with certain medical conditions like pregnant women, children and the elderly, which have appendicitis, may not have all the common appendicitis symptoms. Also the other medical conditions can cause the symptoms of appendicitis. From this point of view the people which have possible appendicitis symptoms should consult immediately the doctor, because only he can diagnose and treat the problem.

The most common symptom which appear early is a pain in the abdomen. This pain can appear at first around the belly button and then move toward the lower right area of the abdomen. There are other common appendicitis symptoms like: pain that intensifies when moving, taking deep breaths, coughing or sneezing, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea, inability to pass gas, low fever that begins after other symptoms, abdominal swelling and feeling that a bowel movement will relieve the discomfort.

The common appendicitis symptoms appear differently at the women which develop appendicitis during pregnancy. So these women who have pain on the right side of abdomen and those who are in the third trimester must consult quickly the doctor. To diagnose appendicitis at infants and young children is more difficult because they cannot communicate their symptoms with their parents or doctors. Because the children cannot explain very well the symptoms, doctors must rely on a physical exam and less specific symptoms, like vomiting and fatigue.

There are cases when children with appendicitis may have constipation or small stools that contain mucus while toddlers with appendicitis may have trouble eating and may seem unusually sleepy. If the parents believe that their children have appendicitis should contact a doctor immediately. It happens that the elderly to have less fever and less severe abdominal pain than other patients with appendicitis. Although the older adults can have symptoms appendicitis without knowing that their appendix is close to rupturing.

The appendicitis symptoms like a slight fever and abdominal pain on the right side of the abdomen can be met to the older patients. They must see a doctor. Patients with certain medical conditions like: organ transplants, HIV or AIDS, diabetes, obesity, cancer and using immunosuppressive therapy such as steroids may not have the common appendicitis symptoms.

Anyone who have pains on the right side of their abdomen which resemble with the appendicitis symptoms must consult the doctor quickly to avoid other problems.

Learning how to gain weight and muscle has to involve learning how to eat properly. We want to accomplish two things through our eating program: Gaining mostly muscle weight while minimizing fat gain. In order to do this, you mainly need to pay attention to two things:

1. Protein. Make protein the base of each meal. Everything else is secondary, while protein is your main focus. The very rough measure of how much protein to eat per meal is envisioning an amount which would fit and fill your hand if you cupped it. Another method is taking 1.5 and multiplying that by your bodyweight. That will be your daily gram amount of protein intake which you can divide up for each meal. Both these methods are general and rough, yet will give you a starting point as which to figure your protein intake. All in all for someone looking to gain muscle, a minimum of 20 grams is usually recommended for each meal.

2. Calories. You have to get enough overall calories for your body to gain weight. As protein is your base, it won’t supply all your needed daily calories. The rest should come from a combination of carbohydrates and fats. The ratio of each is going to differ individually, but in general you could start with a decent size serving of carbs, such as brown rice, and then add a smaller serving of fat, say a small handful of peanuts. Some individuals can handle a higher carb meal, while others need to lower their carb amount, while slightly raising fat amount. A rough guide to how many calories you should eat daily to gain weight and muscle is multiplying your bodyweight by the number 15.

This is a very general base which can get you rolling in the gaining muscle and weight game, while making adjustments along the way to dial in your progress. Combined with the right muscle gaining weight workout, one can expect to pack on size to their frame in 6-8 weeks.

For information on the right muscle gaining workout to follow and specific weight gain eating plans, see gaining-muscle.blogspot.com/ gaining-muscle.blogspot.com/ Here you can cut to the chase with an outlined workout and diet which can have you gaining weight as quickly as possible. gaining-muscle.blogspot.com/ gaining-muscle.blogspot.com/

1. Lessen the Load! Most of the time, the cause of impotence is a high fat diet that can block the blood flow to your erection. Make sure you avoid: fast food, processed foods, some desserts, and some grains. Check the label!

2. Cut Cholesterol! “You need to keep the arteries to the genitals open, and the way to do that is with a low fat, low-cholesterol diet,” says nutritional medicine specialist Michael A. Klaper, M.D. Watch the foods from animal and animal-based products which can cause cholesterol and impotence problems.

3. Fiber is Fantastic! High fiber foods such as fruits, vegetables and some grains are helpful to keep the body cleaned out! Consider these food delicious food choices to help with impotence: Pears, Blueberries, Apples (with skin), Strawberries, Peas, Baked Potatoes, Spaghetti (whole grain), oatmeal and much more.

4. Load up on legumes! Legumes are healthy and also have fiber! Lentils, black beans, lima beans and canned baked beans might be a great option to work in with meals!

5. A simple diet! A vegetarian or modified vegetarian diet is best. However, try to keep your diet non-processed with fresh foods whenever possible.

6. Start big and finish small. Make lunch a major meal of the day and eat a light dinner early in the evening, preferably between 5 and 6pm.

7. Ginkgo is Great! “Supplements of the herb ginkgo, found in most health food stores, can improve blood flow to the genital arteries and veins, which may help reverse impotence,” says herbalist James Green.

8. Why not Water! Water constitutes almost 75% of your body! Water has been called the elixir of life and can benefit the ‘whole body’ and your sex life! Instead of coffee, soda or juice… try water!

Originating in what is now modern India; Tantra is at least 5000-7000 or more years old, pre-dating and influencing both Hinduism and Buddhism.

Many religions believe you can have either physical pleasure or spiritual growth, but not both.

Tantra flatly disagrees, believing that physical and sensual pleasure are themselves the key to our spiritual growth; without one, you can’t have the other.

Tantrics believe working on our bodies can clear them of accumulated rubbish, enabling healing and re-integration with the surrounding spirit energy. Central to Tantra is its belief in this spirit or energy force, and that the universe – and us individually – are all filled with the same energy. Crucially, Tantrics believe that any repression of this energy leaves us unbalanced and damaged.

Tantra rejects the repressive, moralistic, self-denying code of living propounded by many religions, where our body’s sexual or sensual needs are met with guilt, more guilt, repression, denial and punishment. Where, when attention is paid to bodily needs, it’s usually aimed at avoidance, for example of disease or pregnancy. Little attention is paid to the development and expansion of our body’s sensuality; no teaching us how to embrace it, value it.

Tantrics believe that to grow as complete beings, blockages need clearing from both our physical and psychic systems. Most people accept the idea of physical systems. We all know we have a Liver, Heart, and Stomach for example – but psychic systems? Controversial – but nevertheless, most major religions, do believe that we are more than our physical body.

Tantrics believe that a powerful spirit energy, lives in our Base Chakra, situated between our legs. Once released, it rises through our system. If dormant, our knowledge is limited; aroused it allows the natural spiritual growth we should be experiencing.

This vital energy- Kundalini – is ‘fed’ along channels called Meridians. Any obstruction lessens energy flow, much as a kinked hose-pipe produces only a reduced water supply.

Many believe that one manifestation of the ‘Life Energy’ is the Aura. Whether it is actually an aura, with its quasi-religious overtones or ‘only’ electricity’ is, hotly debated. Some recent scientific research however confirms a generalised electromagnetic current around our body and that all tissue and each individual organ, such as the Heart and the Brain also generates an individual impulse. Is there a link between this comparatively recent research and the Tantric belief in the Chakra system – spinning wheels of energy, spiralling throughout our body, where the various aspects and levels of our ‘being’ are merged? When these energy centres function properly, Tantrics believe, so do we. As with the Meridians, however, factors such as lifestyle, conditioning, guilt, diet, prevent them from fully functioning. Once they’re ‘clogged’ we become sluggish, under-performing.

Tantrics, and some modern therapies, believe we have many such blockages and that trauma, such as remembered grief, pain, embarrassment, physical or emotional abuse, remains stored in our body. The effects of this early blocking continue throughout our life, reducing our well-being, our energy; we may, perhaps, constrict our throats because of childhood conditioning to ‘don’t cry,’ or ‘don’t shout’. Our pelvis may be rigid through our attempts to stifle our genital urges. Our anal sphincter may have tightened, and remain tight as the result of our early – and long forgotten- attempts to repress anger.

The Massage

Believing our body is utterly central to our well-being; Tantrics use many techniques to ‘repair’ it. One such is massage, it’s believed that massage and Tantric techniques can help break down blockages and flush them out, – that the massage can heal us.

Tantric massage uses many techniques familiar in other massages, so what differentiates it from other forms of massage?

I would suggest five things;

i) Therapeutic masseurs focus on direct physical benefits; sensualists see pleasure as an end in itself. Tantrics go further, believing that the pleasure is the gateway to spirituality – the means to an end.

i) In Tantra we give without seeking a return; receive without feeling we have to reciprocate.

ii) It is a way of giving and receiving sensual pleasure without needing to perform in any sexual way.

iv) No externally imposed barriers exist as to where, what and how to touch. The only barriers are those that we, as responsible adults have decided will be there. If the agreement allows exploration of the whole of your partner’s body, they –and you –may find new, totally unexpected, areas of enjoyment. Many Westerners tend to be very genitally orientated. We overlook the other 95% of our body, much of which is capable of giving differing but equally exquisite responses. In this way, Tantra continues the liberation many feel when they realise that touch is both natural and mutually enriching.

v) There are techniques for both breathing and massaging particular areas of the body, such as the Chakras or genitals that are specific to Tantra, or the Chinese Tao.

Tantra is a letting go, a sensual journey that can lead to astounding joy. Striving to be open and honest, it is an uplifting but disciplined approach to the body. It permits – encourages – a freedom to experience, experiment, enjoy and openly delight in our body in a way that we in the West can find in turns, alarming, exhilarating, shaming and – perhaps – ultimately liberating. The results of this openness, allied to it’s emphasis on the journey not the destination being important can be astounding for those used to concentrating on the journey’s end ( i.e. ejaculation for the man which it discourages, and, if she’s lucky, orgasm for the woman). It allows time for us to focus on our partner and their body’s varied sensations. Tantra has, few, if any, taboos, provided –and it is a big proviso – that whatever is done is done with mutual respect and unforced agreement. Power, coercion, emotional blackmail or exploitation is not acceptable in Tantra…

For all the above reasons Tantra is ideally suited to a massage.

The CEO for GeckoSystems reported that they’re very pleased with the insights and progress resulting from their ongoing elder care robot trials. They initiated the world’s very first individual companion robot trials late last fall focused on assisting families caring for their elderly parents.

GeckoSystems is really a dynamic leader within the emerging robotics business revolutionizing their development and usage with “Mobile Robot Solutions for Security, Protection and Service.”

“It pleases me to report that to date we have not encountered any fundamental flaws or deficiencies in any of our suite of enabling technologies such as GeckoNav, GeckoChat, or GeckoTrak. Our proprietary solutions that have allowed us to have these ongoing elder treatment robot trials remain sound and robust in real globe, ‘race day’ usage.

“Our Japanese representative, Hajime Yasumatsu, updates us one to two times a week on the status of his discussions with an increasing number of interested Japanese robot businesses. The president of Tmsuk recently invited us to visit their lab in Japan such that we may discuss the provide we made them to jointly develop a four degree of freedom arm for upgrading the CareBot to be also physically utilitarian in addition to sensory utilitarian. We would also discuss their interest within the localization of the CareBot for the Japanese marketplace. Marubeni Info Systems is their marketing partner.

Since 1997, GeckoSystems has developed a comprehensive, coherent, and adequate suite of hardware and software inventions to allow a new type of home appliance the CareBot, to be created for that mass customer marketplace. The suite of major inventions includes: GeckoNav, GeckoChat and GeckoTrak.

The major marketplace for this item may be the loved ones for use in eldercare, care for that chronically ill, and childcare. The major distribution channel for this new house appliance may be the thousands of independent personal personal computer retailers in the U.S. The manufacturing infrastructure for this new item category of mobile support robots is essentially the same as the individual computer industry. Several outside contract manufacturers have been identified and qualified their ability to produce up to 1,000 CareBots per month within four to six months.

Not surprisingly, the scientific statistical analyses applied revealed that elderly over sixty-five living alone in metropolitan areas with broadband Internet available and sufficient household incomes to support the increased costs were identified as those most likely to adopt initially. Because of the high cost of assisted living, nursing homes, etc., the payback for any CareBot is expected to become only six to eight months while keeping elderly treatment receivers independent, in their own long time homes, and living longer because of the comfort and safety of much more frequent attention from their loved ones.

“We project the accessible marketplace size in dollars for price effective, utilitarian, multitasking eldercare personal robots in 2011 to become $74.0B, in 2012 to become $77B, in 2013 to be $80B, in 2014 to be $83.3B, and in 2015 to be $86.6B. With marketplace penetrations of .03% in 2011, .06% in 2012, .22% in 2013, .53% in 2014, and .81% in 2015, we will anticipate CareBot sales, from this consumer marketplace segment, only, of $22.0M, $44.0M, $176M, $440.2M, and $704.3M, respectively. We expect these sales despite — and perhaps because of — the present recession because of pent up demand for significant price reduction in eldercare expenses,” opined Spencer.

The Company’s “mobile robot solutions for safety, security and service” are suitable not only for that consumer, but also expert healthcare, commercial security and defense markets. Professional healthcare require price effective, timely errand running, portable telemedicine, etc. Homeland Protection requires price efficient mobile robots to patrol and monitor public venues for weapons and WMD detection. Military users desire the elimination of the “man in the loop” to enable unmanned ground and air vehicles to not require constant human control and/or intervention.

A number of dozen patent opportunities exist for that Company due to the many innovative and price effective breakthroughs embodied not just in GeckoNav, GeckoChat, and GeckoTrak, but also in additional, secondary systems that include: GeckoOrient, GeckoMotorController, the GeckoTactileShroud, the CompoundedSensorArray, and the GeckoSPIO(TM).

GeckoSystems may be the first mobile robot developer within the globe to begin actual in-home eldercare evaluation trials.

So what is it worth for any treatment receiver to have an automatic system to assist take treatment of Grandma? Just 3 or 4 days a month “off” on a daylong shopping trip, a go to with friends, or just take in a movie would price $225-500 per month. And that scenario assumes that Grandma is willing to become taken treatment of by a “stranger” during those required and appropriate days off.

The loved ones can customize the personality of the CareBot. The voice’s cadence can be fast or slow. The intonation can be breathy, or abrupt. The voice’s volume can range from very loud to really soft. The response phrases from the CareBot for recognized words and phrases can be colloquial and/or unique towards the family’s personal heritage. The personality can range from brassy to timid depending on how the care giver, and others appropriate, chooses it to be.

Usually, the treatment receiver is pleased at the prospect of loved ones being able to drop in for a “virtual visit” using the onboard webcam and video monitor for at house “video conferencing.” The care receiver might feel much more required and appreciated when their far flung loved ones and friends can “look in” on them anywhere in the world where they can get broadband web access and merely chat for any bit.

Chromium supplements can contain several different forms of chromium, such as chromium nicotinate, chromium polynicotinate, chromium chloride, and the most popular, chromium picolinate.

You may have heard that chromium is needed by the body. This is true. Chromium is an essential trace mineral that aids in the action of insulin. Since insulin is one of the most important hormones involved in energy metabolism, it was thought that chromium supplementation could help with fat loss.

Sadly, there have been mixed results in studies which have examined chromium’s role as a weight loss aid. One review showed no benefit for chromium supplementation, while another reported very slight weight loss in people who took the supplement versus those who didn’t.

Most of the studies done thus far have not been conducted for a long enough period of time and have used too small a number of participants to be conclusive. Supplementation of 200-400 mcg per day is most commonly used in these studies, however dosages as high as 1000 mcg have been used.

There are some health risks in taking too much chromium. Some people may experience headaches, sleep disturbances or mood changes, while severe intolerance can lead to vomiting, diarrhea and other GI upsets.

People who take chromium-containing herbs such as horsetail and cascara, may be at a higher risk for chromium toxicity.

Bottom line: At this point in time, the research done on chromium is somewhat contradictory and therefore inconclusive. It does seem unlikely that this supplement has any dramatic effect on weight loss. Because of the risk of toxicity, large doses and/or long term supplementation is not a good idea

For many people, obsessive-compulsive disorder responds well to a combination of antidepressant medication and cognitive therapy. Most people with OCD appear to be predisposed to the symptoms. Usually you can find other extended family members who share a similar pattern of ritualistic behavior. Therapeutic treatment involves the following process: relabeling, reattribution, relaxation techniques and refocusing strategies.

Relabeling and reattribution techniques are designed to assist in objectifying the disorder and realizing that people are more than their obsessions. For example, I teach people to internally respond by saying, “A part of my brain works in ways that make me repeat things continuously. This is merely my disorder speaking; I am more than my disorder.” This way of perceiving one’s obsessive features helps people to detach the nature of their problem from their sense of self.

Relaxation techniques may involve exercise, music, message, meditation and vacationing in a soothing environment. These strategies slow down the sympathetic nervous system minimizing anxiety and making it easier for people with OCD to manage their thoughts and behavior. One’s level of anxiety is directly related to the impact of compulsive behavior.
Refocusing techniques refers to assisting patients to shift from obsessional thinking and behavior to other more self-rewarding activities. A change in activities lessens the impact of the OCD thinking and behavior. For example, a child may have a ritualistic pattern of continuously changing the television remote control in a certain order. A therapeutic goal might be to get the child to leave his obsession by getting up and leaving the room, possibly departing the house for a brief walk. I have people track the intensity of their anxiety during the time that they are away from their ritualistic behavior. When removed from an obsessional behavior, anxiety initially becomes worse and then dissipates in strength over time. Once the child returns to the obsessional pattern after voluntarily leaving it, it usually has decreased in its impact and intensity. The child may say, “I was able to keep from repeating the pattern continuously. I only did it twice!” Reinforcement and encouragement are important for people attempting to minimize obsessive patterns.

Those who experience OCD are typically anxious about their symptoms and fight to get rid of them. It is essential that those who suffer from OCD learn to accept their symptoms rather than struggle with them. Acceptance of any form of anxiety helps one to minimize the symptoms. For example, one might say, “Here come those “crazy feelings” again. They sure are annoying but they won’t hurt me. If I learn to “let them be” they will eventually dissipate in their effect on me.”

It is important for those who experience OCD to share their problem with a close friend or therapist. Expressing one’s feelings about the pattern may help in dealing with any feelings of shame or embarrassment. For the OCD sufferer, it is significant to remember that most people experience features of the disorder. All behavioral problems lie on a continuum. Struggling with OCD is no exception. When we share our problems with others, we realize that we are not alone in our difficulties. It takes courage to admit that we are less than perfect and to allow ourselves to share our humanity with others. When we learn to quit fighting with our imperfections, the issue eventually seems less troublesome.

Workers indoors or outdoors are susceptible to stress in high temperature environments, requiring an instrument which can monitor temperatures, calculate possible heat stroke conditions, and alert the workers so they can stop, cool down, drink water, etc. The Heat Stress instrument measures WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature) for both indoor and outdoor environments.

How Does a Heat Stress Monitor Work?
The WBGT instruments can measure temperature of wet and dry bulbs and a black globe to estimate stress in a high temperature working environment, indoors or outdoors. The WBGT index is a single number derived mathematically from three distinct temperature measurements: wet bulb temperatures, dry bulb temperatures, and globe temperatures. Heat injuries can be expected at WBGT readings of 75°F and above unless preventative measures are taken.

The heat stress formula referenced by the U.S. Government Occupational and Environmental Health Bulletin is:

WBGT (outdoor) = 0.7 x WB 0.2 x BG 0.1 x DB

WBGT (indoor) = 0.7 x WB 0.3 x BG

Where:

WB is the wet-bulb temperature
BG is the 6-inch Vernon Black Globe temperature
DB is the dry-bulb (ambient) temperature
WBGT is the wet-bulb globe temperature index

WBGT Index Guidelines
The U.S. Government Occupational and Environmental Health Bulletin lists several of the WBGT index general guidelines, which include the following:

WBGT Index = 78.0 – 81.9°F
Extremely intense physical exertion may precipitate heat exhaustion or heat stroke; therefore caution should be taken.

WBGT Index = 82.0 – 84.9°F
Discretion should be used in planning heavy exercise for unseasoned personnel. This is sometimes used as the marginal limit of environmental heat stress.

WBGT Index = 85.0 – 87.9°F
Strenuous exercise such as marching at standard cadence should be suspended in unseasoned personnel during their first three weeks of training. Training activities may be continued on a reduced scale after the second week of training. Outdoor classes in the sun should be avoided above this temperature.

WBGT Index = 85.0°F or greater
Outdoor classes in the sun should be avoided.

WBGT Index = 88.0°F
Strenuous exercise should be curtailed for all recruits and other trainees with less than 12 weeks training in hot weather.

WBGT Index = 90.0°F or greater
Physical training and strenuous exercise should be suspended for all personnel (excluding essential operational commitments not for training purposes, where risk of heat casualties may be warranted).

I now would like to address fear, because it is the Number One force behind all anxieties, phobias and most mental disorders. Fear plagues most of us but to overcome it and put it in it’s place—which for me, would be at the very bottom of a very deep pit—one must first know and acknowledge what fear is and why it’s so debilitating.

Let’s define fear and then see how we feel about it. From the online Encarta Dictionary comes this: “1. feeling of anxiety: an unpleasant feeling of apprehension or distress caused by the presence of anticipation of danger, 2. frightening thought, 3. Reverence, 4. worry. Notice here, all descriptions are negative. Fear is nothing but negative and harmful; no good for anyone.

I moved on and then found this site: www.angelfire.com. Check out these interesting famous quotes concerning fear:

Francis Bacon once described fear as: “It is a miserable state of mind to have few things to desire, and many things to fear.”

“Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.”

I love this one from Cardinal Newman: “Fear not that thy life shall come to an end but rather fear that it shall never have a beginning.” (Loved this one—stayed here for awhile)

Another good quote comes from Thomas Jefferson, “The man who fears no truths has nothing to fear from lies.”

This one needs to be repeated, this from Confucius, “To know what is right and not do it is the worst cowardice.”

All of these quotes are great but still I longed for something from a higher source. No better or higher source to be found on earth is the Bible and I found some inspiration from www.gospelcom.net. Check out this site, Toni! ’06

From the book “When Fear Seems Overwhelming,” by Tim Jackson, a licensed counselor in Michigan, comes some helpful and comforting information on fear…

He first begins to tell us that fear is sometimes necessary and needed to prevent us from danger—such as that of snakes, when someone is going to attack you or when you sense or know of danger that can be avoided. This is when danger is needed.

He goes on to say that danger can ‘motivate us to excel.’ We all have, at time, projects or things to do that need to be done at a certain time. Fear to get a report or project done, can motivate and propel us to ‘high motivation.’

In another light, fear can also entertain us—such as in movies, TV or DVD’s. How many of us over the years sit and watch a horror movie and love it because we’re not the ones facing the fear?

However, he continues, fear can be our enemy when we “disable ourselves with fears from within that can turn obsessive.” Also insecurity when it comes to relationships. He sums up this insecurity by writing, “We desire to love others, but the frightening reality is that there is no guarantee that anyone will love us in return.

He finishes by saying that inadequacy and self-doubt can also bring on fear and many ‘what-if’ types of thinking.

He ends his thoughts on fears by listing ways in which we all can overcome fear: “Face Your Fears, Learn From Your Fears, Relinquish Unhealthy Fears, Cultivate Healthy Fears, and Move In Spite Of Your Fears.”

At the very end of his booklet on fears he quotes from the Bible a wonderful passage, “Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of His servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.”(Isaiah 50:10.)

Another newspaper report again in the Philadelphia Inquirer, dated Sunday May 30, 2004 titled, “Once Shy, Now Sick” by Jeff Gammage, gives insightful information as to why so many people in the last decade are suddenly classified as ‘sick’ instead of shy. He asks the question, “How can one person shrug off a situation that leaves another convinced he’s having a heart attack?”

He goes on to write about the affects of ‘fear’ on some people. “When a human faces danger, the body transmits two signals to the brain. One takes a slower path to the cerebral cortex, which considers the threat in detail. The second shoots straight to the amygdala, composed of two almond-shaped structures near the temples.

‘The amygdala sets off the fear response: The heart pounds blood is diverted to the muscles for quick action. Energy-boosting hormones are released. The immune system drops.”

He goes on to write that in some individuals the fear response is etched strongly upon the amygdala, as a preventative measure for the future. That ‘etched memory’ is easily tapped among those with anxiety disorders.

Another factor that contributes to social anxiety according to the above author is “hormonal imbalances and genetics.”

Two treatments, according to this article helps the social anxiety sufferers—medication such as Paxil and the other is cognitive-behavior therapy, often lasting 12-16 weeks.

Of course, one should be aware that the pharmaceutical companies have strong financial interest in boasting the awareness of drugs to solve all problems—especially with an illness such as social anxiety. The best thing to do if one suspects that this illness is working on him or her, would be to see a physician or physicians and have a thorough mental and physical diagnosis.

A wonderful article on fear comes from www.wtv-zone.com/Paula/PAGE/FEARS.html. This article was written by Paula Wedding, and retrieved April 30, 2004. The title is “Fears, Chapter Two”–She quotes a particularly beautiful piece from the Bible, James: 2-4, “To consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking I nothing.” ‘06

From www.grndr.com/fears.htm comes an insightful look at fears in an article titled, “Living with Fears,” by Carol A. Meeks. In this article the author writes about a terrifying experience while driving one day from West Virginia to Washington D.C. The author was driving a defective car and while trying to reach the destination of Washington D.C,. suffered several severe anxiety attacks. When the author arrived home, (with the help of her daughter and friend) she went to see her doctor and was diagnosed as having an anxiety disorder, caused by driving too long in a defective car.

What a harrowing story but one of many, those who suffer from some type of phobia. Do you suffer from a phobia? Don’t feel alone.
