I know I’ve sometimes stopped posting for weeks on end, due to exams and holidays, but I try. I appreciate all your support, patience, and comments.

Gears Of War Avatar Clothing Coming To Xbox Live

Recently at Comic-Con Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski showed off the upcoming clothing to be released to the Avatar Marketplace. The COG armour looks pretty cool, though the Locust armour is a little lacking, this is because one of the rules set forth my Microsoft concerning Avatar Clothing, is that they cant make Avatars look not human.

The Avatar Marketplace will become available on August 8th, and yes, cool clothes will cost money.

Sony’s BluRay movie – ps3 game crossover discs out now with the watchmen

A few months back, there was talk of Sony releasing Ps3 games and BluRay Movies on the same disc. Well now they’ve materialised, starting with the watchmen, you can now buy the movie and the game on a single disc. This is a pretty good idea on paper, but keeping in mind that movie games usually suck, it may not work out so well.

Latest GTA IV DLC Dated

Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony is the title of the latest GTA IV expansion heading exclusively to Xbox 360. It lands on October 29 of this year, and will arrive not only on the marketplace, but in stores on disc along with The Lost And The Damned. The Disc will sell for about €40/$40 (Keeping in mind it includes both Gay Tony and Lost & Damned). On Xbox Marketplace the DLC will cost 1600 Microsoft Points, which is €20/$20.

Ad’s Coming To Xbox Live

Microsoft has recently announced plans to bring Microsoft Sliverlight ads to Xbox Live, this has been met (naturally) with outcry from people who dont want their Dashboard stuffed full of ads. Xbox Live’s very own Larry Hyrb (aka Major Nelson) has adressed the distraught fans by saying:

"I’ve seen quite a bit of discussion today about how we’re bringing Silverlight ads to Live in the future. I need to let you know that you don’t need to worry about a huge influx of ads across the dashboard.

"One of our core principles is to enhance, not interfere with the gaming experience, and we work directly with our partners to only deliver experiences that are relevant to the Live community.

"Silverlight will help make those ads a more organic part of the dashboard, like we’ve done with some of the NXE slots in the past. No one on the team wants to turn the dashboard into something that looks like like Shibuya Crossing. That’s just not good for anyone."

I’ll take his word for it now, but the second I get a popup with Master Chief advertising foot cream while I pay for Gold membership, I’m going PS3.

The free Social Networking based game Mafia Wars (Available on Tagged, Facebook, iPhone) has recently reached 4 Million Users. In the game you start your own mafia family and battle with others for dominance.

PSP Go Was Always There, Hiding behind the Scenes

Sony’s Naoya Matsui has admitted that the PSP Go was around from day one, or at least, the plan for it. Its only being released now because the market is finally ready for it, more and more people are getting used to making purchases online, so it makes sense that now is the time to release an all-digital console.

"If we’d simply released the hardware, there wouldn’t have been much for everyone to enjoy. We needed to prepare the right environment for it first – things like the transferral of content with the PS3 and PSN, and PC software to manage content like music and movies such as ‘Media Go’".

"We wanted to release it when the delivery of digital content was on par with the delivery of physical media. That’s what we’ve been working on these past two years. We’ll be selling the PSPgo alongside the existing PSP models, because it’s a product targeted at those people who are more accustomed to digital content."

Playing The Game Changes – New requirement: Bebo or Facebook profile

According to research by Samsung Mobile, One in three Irish people who are under the age of 25 check Bebo or Facebook profiles of potential dates before going out with them. 54 percent of people surveyed said they would refuse to go on a date with someone if they didn’t like the look of their social networking profile. 64 percent of Irish females under 25 said they would definitely not date a guy if their Bebo or Facebook page didn’t come up to scratch. The survey also concluded that the average person under 25 sends 27 texts a day, almost two per waking hour. For girls, the number of texting is higher, with the average female sending 32 texts per day while men text an average of 22 a day.

New Gears Of War book coming July 28th

Gears Of War: Jacinto’s Remnant is the newest Gears Of War Book to hit the shelves (Its also the first one I’ve heard of).

It will take place just after the second game and will no doubt chronicle humanities struggle against extinction. Its written by Karen Traviss (Author of Star Wars novels).
