For those unaware of Google Cache, it basically is a copy of a web page saved on google’s servers to help speed up it’s searches. You can usually view a google cached page even if the site owner changes the content of their page. It eventually will update with the site owners changes, but having no google cache of this page from yesterday seems a bit odd to me.

It would be nice if big companies (TWS is owned by Time Warner) would be honest and come right out and say why they removed something instead of removing content and not responding to their audience. I’ve tried to explain this to previous employers, but the big business mentality is very difficult to speak to, hence their inability to speak to their audiences honestly. When you try and hide something on the internet, you tend to make things worse off for yourself in teh long run. See: The Streisand_effect.

Anyway, peep the video because all drama aside, Wenning still kills it.

Thanks to Brad for the heads up.

I remember seeing him in the Koston Game of S.K.A.T.E. (before it was the Es Game of S.K.A.T.E.) at ARS years ago and being blown away by his consistant, natural style. Seeing him skate in videos is amazing, but you realize when see him skate in real life why that dude is still around and ripping. Props to Chico. Always smiling.

Saturday night in Philadelphia, stop Slingluff for the third installment of Good Wood, a silent auction of art on skate decks to benefit Stay True. The show features over 15 different artists, including Leo Espinosa, Mike Burdick and Don Kilpatrick plus a special installation piece by AJ Fosik. It all goes down at 6pm at the Slingluff Gallery, 11 W. Girard Ave in scenic Fishtown. Beer+art+benefit=no brainer so brave the coming rain and check out what’s good.

STAY TRUE is a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia dedicated to offering under-privileged, at-risk youth the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become powerful agents of social/political change in their communities.

Slingluff Gallery hosts the third installment of the lovable skate deck show we dubbed Good Wood, three years ago. Since the first show in Detroit the show has taken on all sorts of new good & the kind that really counts. John Rob Moore is the only one with footage from the team, and it is a half make and a slam. I didn’t want to poach footage since they were filming and shooting photos. All I’m saying is, I can’t wait to see Willy’s sequence and footage get published and in a video. It was real sick!

Bart Jones (Skateboard Mag Photog.) provided quite an interesting soundtrack for the evening session. I was feelin’ it! That dude seems like a real fun dude to hang out with and have on the session.

The Josh Kalis Interview is up on Slap. They polled slap readers for questions and did the interview over video chat.

Cool stuff but I don’t think the final posted video needed to be 720px by 480px considering how grainy and low quality footage from a video chat is. There are a lot of things I don’t understand about what Slap does with their site, though. Regardless, slap always comes through with some good content. I guesss it is just the presentation that is my only issue.

He even addresses the beef between him and Ricky, which is interesting. Glad to here is was some B.S. and was squashed.

It also looks like they pulled the video clips from youtube.

Skateboards.

Pier 62 skate park that’s rumored to be a free public park after completion. More photos on the park development, including an even closer look inside the terrain will be up soon. The park is of course located in Manhattan, NY. The park may be mistaken as the Chelsea Piers skate park due to the location, but the Hudson River is city property that Chelsea leases and they gave back that particular pier which means, city owned and funded or free as it should be. – irollny.com

I am aware that is a “rollerblade” blog. I didn’t think kids actually still in-line skated to the extreme, but none the less, rad photos of this place. I found the link via Twitter a while back and never got around to making the post about it.

Rumor has it there is some drunk bus action for the premiere of the next Zero video “Strange Days”, but I just read that on the internet so who knows.

According to this article from AL.com, Kangaroo Express, a convenience store in Jefferson County, Alabama, was robbed Wednesday night by a gun-wielding, skeleton-masked man who made his getaway on a skateboard.

“It seems like Halloween is getting here early,” said sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Randy Christian.

Ray Barbee is set to appear on the children’s show Yo Gabba Gabba! on Tuesday, October 13. He will be doing a “Cool Trick” in one of the show’s regular segments, according to this press release.

Yo Gabba Gabba features a mix of live-action costumed creatures, animation, musical segments, and celebrity appearances. Tony Hawk made an appearance during the “Dancey Dance” segment of the “Move” episode, and skateboarding pops up in various segments on a regular basis. Not surprising considering co-creator Christian Jacobs was in Gleaming The Cube during his child acting days.

The show airs on Nick Jr. daily at 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Check out some footage of Ray Barbee from Ban This! on Youtube here.

I only wish they would touch on the fact that the park has limited hours that are very inconsistent and therefore only makes the skate park a safe haven for skateboarders to stay off the streets when there is someone staffed to monitor the park. The park is fenced in while adjacent to a wide open, unsupervised basketball court and soccer field.

The latest “cop threatens skateboarder” video has hit YouTube. San Francisco Police Officer Noel Schwab tells skateboarder Zach Stow that he’s “going to break his arm like a twig.” Both parties appear culpable, as Zach previously called the cop “a fucking dick.” The situation escalates after concerned citizens get involved towards the end of the video over an off-camera kicking. Don’t get your panties all in a bunch because the cop will likely end up with a slap on the wrist, just like last summer’s Baltimore incident on YouTube.

Did you know Philadelphia is going to have it’s own east coast skateboarding trade show? Yup. Big ups to Focus and everyone putting this together. There is even talks of a possible haveboard.com booth. Thinking a couch, a camera, a live stream, and more. Stay tuned.

In honor of the MoMA retrospective Spike Jonze: The First 80 Years, PopRally has invited producer and photographer Patrick O’Dell (of Epicly Later’d) to create a special compilation of seminal skateboard videos from the 1980s to today. Jonze, whose own contributions to the genre will be featured, notes that, “Skate videos have been a big influence and a big part of what I’ve done for a long time. They are how I got into film, actually.” This unique screening is followed by a conversation with legendary skateboarders and filmmakers, including Lance Mountain, Jake Phelps, Ty Evans, Spike Jonze, and other surprise guests.

Afterward please join us upstairs for a special performance by NO AGE.

The program begins promptly at 7:30.

You must be twenty-one or older to attend this event.
