They give them all a uniform: dark pants, light shirt and sometimes a cute necktie that neither the police nor the military use, nor anyone else within the realm of those who wear uniforms. Violence is a reality present in almost all social settings: the family, gender relationships, childhood and education, sports, wars, the State and international politics, ecology... It would be simpler but more difficult to specify situations where there is not violence. Regrettably, Cuba is not an exception to this logic.

Raul Paz Cuba Concert for Children

Unnecessary Violence Is Counter-Productive

No true revolutionary is willing to support the reverse of the Cuban Revolution or the restoration of private capitalism, be it from the forces of the right or from the bureaucracy. However, nor can we agree on repressing with violence those who simply express a different thought, or those who wish to peacefully express their points of views, even if we don’t agree with them.
