Wireless USB Adapter Not Recognized

Hello guys, Now I want to share a little bit about my experience of installing wireless USB adapter, I hope it is useful for you.

The story began when I my old computer had a problem with its motherboard, you know, its capacitors was leakage, so that my computer could not boot normally. I have tried to replace them with the same type, but nothing changed. So finally I decided to buy a new computer.

A new computer had higher spesification than before one, Although this computer was far from satisfaction. I did not have more budget for it. Here are the spesifications:

Processor: Intel Pentium D 940 @ 3200 MHz
Physical Memory: 2048 MB
Mainboard : Gigabyte 8I945GMF
Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce 6600
Physical Memory: 2048 MB
Hard Disk : ST3160023AS (160 GB)
DVD-Rom Drive : BENQ DVD DD DW1625
Chipset : Intel i945G/GZ

I installed Windows XP with service Pack 3. After installing Win XP and Installing all driver for motherboard I tried to connect my wireless USB adapter. I used usb adapter everytime I connected to internet, but now my USB adapter was not being recognized by system. Why did wireless USB adapter not recognized by system?, I used usb cable extension about 5 metre, but my friend also used usb cable extension about 12 metre, but their system could detect usb adapter.

To solve this problem I tried to cut usb cable (utp cable) by 1 metre, but my usb adapter still could not be detected, I tried to cut again by 1 metre for the 2nd time, also still got the same result.

I just had 3 metre USB cable now, but I needed to have at least 5 metre to get good signal from acces point (I placed USB adapter on the roof of my house).

I did not know why this happened? Then I asked my friend about this problem, and he told me how to solve this problem. I found that nothing is wrong with both usb adapter and cable, something is wrong with BIOS setting.

In the picture above we can see there are USB 2.0 controller option under Integrated Periperal. You can set Enabled or Disabled. When I faced this problem (wireless USB adapter not recognized) the option was set to Enabled. So I changed the option to Disabled then tried to reconnect the device, Yes my system could detect my wireless USB adapter now with 5 metre extension cable even when I changed to 12 metre.

You know that when we set option of USB 2.0 controller to Enabled, transfer data via USB port become faster than we set option to Disabled. When the option set to Disabled, USB ports have max power for device, so power lost by extension cable can be minimized.

Dear my visitors, maybe one of you still confuse about how to optimize new blog (starting new blog). When we think about SEO or Search Engine Optimization of blog, there are many things that we must do, I will try to explain a simple tips for you.

How to optimize our blog? These are the simple steps:

Define your keyword or niche about your blog. This means that what is your blog talking about?
Buy new domain name, It is very important that your domain name should contain your keyword. If your blog talks about music you can buy new domain like funmusic.com maybe.
Define your title of your blog, this must also include your keyword, example: Funmusic.com – Free music download for you.
Optimize the usage of description meta tag. Place your keyword in this tag, example: This blog contains recent music that you can download freely. I suggest that you write your description not over than 160 chars
Optimize your keyword meta tag. Don’t forget to include your keywords

We have just finished optimizing the general things, and now let’s optimize design and content:

Use the heading tag (H1, H2) for your title tag, most search engine likes this.
Write your content related to your keyword or niche.
Don’t forget to place alt tag with your keyword everytime you insert an image to your blog.
Write down the post or article by yourself, not just being copycat.
Minimize Menu link with image, it would better for you to use anchor text instead of image. Place your keyword in anchor text.
Use static page of your URL post or article for better result in SERPs. You can setup the URL in permalink setting if you use wordpress.
The last one, You must design your blog attractively, eye catching, easy for navigation and fast loading.
Submit your blog to search engine or do link exchange with another blog.

How to Fix Shoutmix Error During Blogwalking

Everyone already know that something was happened in shoutmix, yes you are right, shoutmix is seemed in error now. Three days ago, January 20th, shoutmix went just fine, nothing wrong, but in January 21st something happened, our link was not appeared, why?, I don’t know exactly .

You and me know that most blogwalker use shoutmix for blogwalking, visiting from one blog to the other blog, or even using auto blogwalker application, so that you don’t wasted much time for it. To get more visitors back to our blog, we must leave many messages to the other shoutboxs, and the result, you leave almost the same message in every blogs you have visited.

I myself did what I mentioned above, I just copy and paste every time leaving message in the other blog, I thought this is the easy way to get more visitors back to my blog. I have received warning from shoutmix about leaving the same message within short periode, eg., about every 5 second we submit or shout message. Actually I think this is not error from shoutmix, it is the action taken by shoutmix to prevent spamming (leaving the same message within short periode), even worse shoutmix know that many blogwalker use shoutmix to click exchange ads, or well known as ki$$, or real $mile , I my self realized that I was happy when visitor left the message like that.

As I mentioned above, maybe…, I say maybe because I’m not sure that it’s really true, This condition is not Shoutmix error, Shoutmix currently working fine, but they have taken action to block such IP address that appeared to be spammer, so that you couldn’t leave your link in name, message or even link field.

To fix this problem, before blogwalking I setup my network to use proxy setting. Simply go to Tools menu > Options then choose Advanced, in Network tab click setting Connection (for firefox). Where can you find IP proxy? To get IP proxy go here, and find out anonymous proxy without name in proxy list.

Some proxy number sometimes not working properly, if this happened, please try to find out others. After blogwalking you can bring back your connection setting to No Proxy.

If you tired doing these, you can use the others shoutbox or chatbox service like cbox and oggix. This is final decision to avoid shoutmix error and I saw some blogwalker have move out from shoutmix and choose Cbox instead. YARPP, The Easy Way to Show Related Post

Related post is the other posts that have relation with the post you currently reading, as well as in tag, category or the words you use in the post (keywords). Generally, people shows their related post below the post currently reading, but of course they don’t place the other posts completely, they just place the links to them.

Showing your related post is very useful to attract your visitor to see the other posts, most targeted to the old posts. it will reduce your bounce rate. Bounce rate is the value of visitor that just visit one page of your blog, lower bounce rate increase your blog quality.

The other benefit of showing related post is to increase your inbound link. Inbound link is the link that direct to page or post in the same blog.

Sometimes, people modify their post template to show their related post, but for people that is not familiar with code it maybe become the obstacle.

Wordpress is powerful open source for blogging that supported with many plugins. There are many wordpress plugins to show related post below your post, such as related post, wordpress related post plugin, aizattos related post, yet another related post plugin (YARPP). At this time I will explain about Yet Another Related Post plugin, I think this is better than others about showing related post, some plugin sometimes shows related post under the post but in fact they has no relation with the post.

To start making related post with YARPP, follow these steps:

Download YARPP plugin here
Upload YARPP to your plugin directory.
Activate YARPP via your admin page.
Configure the setting of YARPP like the picture below.

Define the value of Match Threshold in , this parameter to measure relevance level between post. higher value will increase the relevancy and makes related post more selective, and you get less related post overall. If you have just a few post set this value to 2 or 3.
Check Consider option to increase appearance of related post.

At Display options for your website section, set the value of Maximum Number of Related Post

Related post by default appear with number, you can change this with bullet or any other style. For instance, if you want to change to bullet instead of number, change the Before / after related entries: with the code below, change also the text of Related post with Similar post

Step by Step Upgrading Wordpress Manually

As we know that wordpress grows time to time, and develop the existence version to new one, so everything become better. There are two ways to upgrade wordpress, automatically and manually. To update wordpress automatically, you need just by clicking the link in new update banner, in the top of your admin page with the anchor text please update now. You can also upgrade automatically by going to Tools then select Upgrade menu. Update automatically is very simple than upgrade manually, it is very important to backup your database first before doing upgrade.

Sometimes, we find error during upgrading wordpress automatically such can not write file to the server host or any other reason. In this way, upgrading wordpress manually is your choice, although this need your patient during uploading files to your file hosting.

In this post, I use the Byethost service as my hosting files, but generally upgrading wordpress manually is about the same. To start upgrading wordpress manually you can follow the step by step below:

Step 1: You should back up your database. To back up your database ussually this file in sql format, you should go to your phpmyadmin page, and export database to your local drive, to make it easier, ensure that you export in compressed file. This is very important just in case something goes wrong, so you can easily restore your database.

Step 2: Download the latest version of wordpress to replace your old wordpress files and folders.

Step 3 : Extract wordpress zip file, you will find the three main folder of wordpress (wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes), and the main root files such as index.php, wp-cron.php, wp-login.php and others, it is maybe about 23 files.

Step 4: Compress the main folder of wp-admin and wp-includes except wp-content, so you have wp-admin.zip and wp-includes.zip

Step 5: Login to your hosting Cpanel, and select file manager.

Step 6: Upload wp-admin.zip and wp-includes.zip to the your main root (public_html).

Step 7: Rename folder wp-admin and folder wp-includes, example: wp-adminold and wp-includesold. Renaming this folder is more easily instead of moving these folder to other location. Both renaming and moving these folder have same objective, to backup your folder. You can delete the old folder after you succeed upgrading to new version.

Step 8: Extract or unzip wp-admin.zip and wp-includes.zip to the main root folder (public_html). So you have new wp-admin and wp-includes folder.

Step 9: Overwrite files in your main root (public_html) with new wordpress files, about 23 files (as mentioned in the step 3). Don’t change or delete other files that have no related with upgrading wordpress, example: sitemap.xml, .htaccess, or any other files for verification ownership.

Step 10: Visit your main WordPress admin page at /wp-admin. You may be asked to login again. If a database upgrade is necessary at this point, WordPress will detect it and give you a link to a URL like http://www.example.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php. Follow that link and follow the instructions. This will update your database to be compatible with the latest code.

Google Adsense Pin Finally Come True

Google Adsense Pin or Google Pin in short, has sticked in mind for several weeks. I have waited for this pin in very worried, I have read a lot of experience about sending of Google Pin that not arrived in their house. Do you have google adsense account?, Have you received your google pin? If you don’t have google adsense account, you can send your application, don’t forget to read tips before applying google adsense program.

Google Pin is the number that is sent by Google to Google adsense publisher when they have reached the value specified by Google, it is about $10, When I reached this value I thought that my Google Pin would be sent to my email, but in fact, Google Pin is sent to my house. Do you know why Google Pin is sent to publisher’s house? Google Pin is sent to their house to ensure that the address entered in their account is real, not fake, so you can receive your payment. After you receive this Pin you must enter to your account, Google will check the pin you entered, if pin you entered is match with pin that has been sent, Goolge conclude your house address is real.

If you still not receive your pin after request 3 times you can send email to google adsense support, adsense-support@google.com, it is very important because google will replace paid advertisements on your blog with public service ads if you have not entered within 4 months, then google will disabled your account if you don’t enter your pin within 180 days or 6 months.

By sending google team email and you tell them the reason why you still have not entered your pin to your account, it will possible to google team to disable entering pin to your account, google may ask you to send them your valid identity such as Passport or Nation Identity Card. Before you send your email to google team, Kindly please check in your post office in your city.

How to Make a Blog Using Free Domain and Hosting

Ok, now you have free domain and free hosting account. To start making a blog you should login to your Control panel, url listed. Enter your username and password. Your control panel page appear now, start by setting up domain first. In Domain menu, click Addon Domains, enter your free domain you have created in Co.cc, in my example I created justexample.co.cc then press Add Domain button. You should back to your Co.cc account to setup Name Server. In the picture below Byethost has 5 name server, enter these name server when setup domain, you should add 3 more name server, press Setup button after entering all 5 name server of Byethost.

We almost finish creating a blog, now you will install software for blog. In Software & Services, click i-Vista Easy Script Installation link. Select your destination in drop-down menu, then press Proceed button. In the next step you should select software, Byethost serves several software such as Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, Zen Cart, etc. At this time you select wordpress 2.8 as your software, press Install Now button.

when selecting path, leave the field blank because we plan to install in root directory of justmyexample.co.cc, then press Complete Install button. Congratulation, you just successful created a blog with url justmyexample.co.cc, this is type non-www, if you want to change this blog become www.justmyexample.co.cc, simply go to admin page and change your blog url in setting page.

Tips Before Applying Google Adsense Program

Google Adsense is the biggest adsense program that sticked in mind, and let blogger get earning when they become adsense publisher. Blogger can make blogging activities become more seriously because it can make money beside just for sharing or just for fun blogging.

Above reason is my goal when I started blogging, basically I’m an employee for a private company with very low income, that’s why I started learning how to blog in hopping that later I should become a part of adsense program to get extra money.

Becoming a part of google adsense program or adsense publisher is not easy, I must work hard to make my blog meet google adsense publisher criterion. I’ve bad experience about applying adsense program, when I tried to apply the program and waited for several time, finally one email came to my inbox that notified me about rejection of my application, I tried to find out why did google adsense not approve my application, and I can take some points: Age of blog, Visitor, Traffic Ranking, Blog Popularity or Page Rank, Primarily Language, Design of Blog, etc.

I started new blog with Top Level Domain after my application rejected, I left the old blog and never manage again. I focused with new blog and maximized how to make my blog become better than before. After about 4 months I running my blog and I feel it is nearly meet adsense publisher criterion, I sent again my application to adsense team. Where you can feel that your blog is nearly meet adsense publisher?, the easiest way is to compare with blog that has already had google adsense, also you must read google adsense guidance and check and compare your content with Content Guidelines in Google AdSense Program Policies, maybe your blog against adsense rules, e.g., you have adult content.

When 2nd application was sent to adsense team for reviewing my blog I was very worried, I was afraid about my application, I didn’t want to get the 2nd rejection letter from adsense. I was pray hard during review pocess, finally after waiting for 5 days, a letter come to my inbox. I was very happy because my application has been approved by google adsense team, thanks to adsense team for approving my application. For you who has many experienced in blogging, get approved from adsense is something that’s very easy to reach, but for me as newbie blogger is very hard.

Before I sent my google adsense application I did several reviews or you can call these tips to ensure that my blog was nearly meet google adsense publisher, the activities are the following:

I checked the age of blog to ensure that my blog was not too young, I get reference is about 3 months.
I got blog popularity or Page Rank about 2, some people suggested me before applying adsense program I should have Page Rank at least 1, but I thinks this is not very important, content quality is more important than Page Rank
Traffic or Visitor, obviously it is very important. Although you have good content but no visitor, who will read your ads? gain your visitor first, don’t apply your application with very high Alexa Rank value, showing your visitor can help you more like many visitor e.g., mybloglog or blogcatalog recent reader
I used language that supported by adsense, at the old blog I use local language and the result is rejected
I had total posting about 23, my friend tell me at least 15 post
I checked my content to ensure there are no against google adsense rules, e.g., adult content, casino, drug, etc.
Arranged blog design, layout become attractive, that reflect you are passionate blogger

Blogwalking to Increase Alexa Rank via Shoutmix Chat

Blogwalking is an activity of blogger to surf from one blog to the other blog, read its content, give comment, ask for link exchange or just leave comment in shout box. Blogwalking is very useful to promote our blog, increase Alexa rank and the most important is to make friendship among bloggers.

Some people blogwalking just leave message in shoutbox in hoping the owner visit back to their blog, maybe like me, this is the easiest way instead giving comment on post because we should read the article first, but when we read any article we get something useful and add our knowledge.

There are some service that offer us free chat box or shout box such as Cbox, Shoutmix, Meebome, Oggix, Sbox, and others. The most famous shoutbox or chat box I know is Shoutmix. During blogwalking I found many shoutmix chat widget than other services. As I know that shoutmix is very simple, easy but very interesting. We can customize our chat widget so looks different than others.

To get your shoutmix chat widget just go to official shoutmix website and follow the instruction there. I have owned shoutmix chat widget two months ago. Everyday I blogwalking in order to promote and increase my Alexa rank. My Alexa rank reduce significantly about two months from over #2,509,787 to #105,899, I’m very happy with it.

But after one month since I owned shoutmix chat widget, I had a problem, my shoutmix chat widget couldn’t be loaded in my browser, I was very panic with this, then I tried to find out why this happenned?, finally I got the answer, that my IP address was supposed as post spammer, so shoutmix blocked/banned my IP address.

Why did shoutmix suppose that our IP address as post spammer?. Shoutmix will suppose us as spammer if you post very often in other shoutmix chat with the same post or you use program auto blogwalking or crawler to post messages. Auto blogwalking or crawler will start posting a message with initial shoutmix chat url widget, like mine is http://www4.shoutmix.com/?hasanchat then go to other link blog who has posted in that widget to find other shoutmix url.

I was very sad when my IP address get banned/blocked, my browser couldn’t load shoutmix chat widget even worst my blog url also blocked, so I couldn’t leave or post message in other blogs. Eventually, to avoid using my IP address I tried blogwalking with IP proxy and of course it worked, I could load again shoutmix chat widget, you can get IP proxy from http://aliveproxy.com/, find Anonymous proxy, then set your browser with this proxy.

The last problem one, I still couldn’t leave/post message in other shoutmix chat widget with my blog url, so I tried to find out url redirection like tiny url or short url service but sometime with these url redirection we still cannot post. Finally I tried to make my old blog irfannafiskid.co.cc which hosted in byethost to redirect to this blog with this code in header tag.

I’m very happy because a few days ago I could access shoutmix chat widget without proxy, also I could post with this blog again without url redirection. Thanks to shoutmix who has brough my account back on track.
