American Pottery Opens Feb. 24th

Learn about the culture and feeling of ceramics opening in a few weeks. Residents will get a chance to see post Civil War through World War 1 and World War 2 expression made from 1880 to 1950. This is a great chance to learn about American History and different eras.

African Art in time for Black History

Black History Month brings numerous concerts, discussions, and personalities to the University of Florida. The Harn Museum is no exception to the rule with their vast collection of textiles, pottery, and basketry from West, Central, South, and East Africa. This month can also be a time to learn about heritage besides celebrating current black culture.

Irish Culture This Tuesday Night

Feburary 17th brings a documentary celebrating Irish culture. The Harn Museum website calls it, “a compilation of archival material, new footage, animation and scripted voice-overs depicting Northern Irish Republican, Bernadette Devlin. ”

This is a great opportunity for Gainesville students and residents to learn about Irish heritage. It’s not just on St. Patrick’s Day.
