Responsible dog owners would do anything, not just to give the best for their pet, but to see to it that the whole household and everyone in it are free from all kinds of pet worries from poo, fleas, ticks and even flea droppings. In the case of fleas, the first best thing that any cat owner will think about is choosing and buying the best anti-flea and anti-tick product for their pets and one type of product best for fleas is K9 Advantix which is best for dogs but is there an Advantix flea and tick for cats product?

Try to find out today if there is and as a responsible pet owner, you need to gather enough reliable information first before proceeding. Come visit his latest websites on Capstar Flea Control and Cat Window Perch and dog training Aids

K9 Advantix is a once-a-month topical flea & tick remedy in dogs. What is best about this product that it will never be washed away with water unless you give a good bath to your canine.

Research shows that this kind of anti-flea product remains effective after swimming or bathing and can still kill around ninety percent of fleas and even one hundred percent.

Based on its own manufacturer, this product is a conbination of two proven ingredients, imidacloprid and permethrin that is known to be very effective against parasites. But that’s not all. One dog owner even testified that based on his observation, the product made a catalyst out from the pets. After application on his own pet Shih Tzu, all the areas of their house where he suspected the abundance of fleas and ticks were found to have been cleaned and free from these parasites.

For instance, before, he found that there are hundreds of fleas in one spot of his living room but after Advantix was applied on his Mimi, his pet Shigh Tzu, fleas and ticks can no longer be found in that area.

This topical treatment, available for various types or sizes of dogs, is excellent for those pets who love to swim or who require frequent bathing but attention cat owners. This is very, very, very important. You can’t use Advantix on cats and it could be dangerous for them. For cats, it is highly recommended that you get a “feline version” of Advantix and its called Advantage and according to personal experiences, this is best recommended product for fleas in cats.

If you’re looking for an anti-flea or anti-tick remedy for your feline friend, you should try to look for other alternatives like Advantage. It’s a sad fact that you can’t use Advantix but as always, there is always the right product to give to your cat in addressing the problems for fleas and ticks.

So, to clarify things up, there is not such thing as Advantix flea and tick for cats. But if for instance, one day, you can find some information that there is really an Advantix for cats, just make sure you get yourself well-informed before using it. But other than that, try to ask your vet for the best flea product for your very purrty friend.

I know that separation anxiety is a big problem, especially for rescued dogs. There is help for Separtation Anxiety, as you can read from this guest blog article.

Our dog tore up the house all because we left home without him.

While there are some pets who are dealing with dog separation anxiety that will destroy things, they are not doing so to punish you. No, it is the result of a lot of stress building up because he feels all alone.

Crating Your Pet Will Fix The Problem

Absolutely , by crating the dog it is going to prevent him from tearing up the furniture but it sure will not help him to deal with his anxiety problems. There is the chance that by handling the behavior this way with a dog with this kind of problem, he could injure himself in his attempt to get free.

Really Getting After Your Dog Can Fix Dog Separation Anxiety.

No, this tactic will make things much worse. When you go somewhere your dog is already anxious and uptight. Now just imagine how your dog feels when you walk through that door and he is met with some sort of punishment. Your dog is just feeling a lot of panic which is causing him to act in a certain way, he is not doing these things on purpose.

So, what is the solution for dog separation anxiety? The answers vary depending on how bad the condition is. For mild forms of anxiety you will be able to apply simpler methods of treatment. For example, do not put on a big show after you arrive home, just stay calm and give him a short comforting pet.

A few people have found that if they left an item behind that had their scent on it, it seemed to help a dog with the mild form of separation anxiety find some comfort.

To fix the problem of dog separation anxiety will take some time and will take even longer for the severe cases. If your dogs’ anxiety issues are severe, then you might want to find a dog day care or a family member to watch your pet while in your absence.

Dog separation and bad behavior are not the same, your dog is in misery and he is looking to you to come up with a solution that works.

Hello Everyone,

Our cause just entered in America’s Giving Challenge, which gives us a chance to win $50,000!

Please donate today:
http://tinyurl.com/yjk36p6

To win, between now and November 7th we have to get the most donations to our cause (every person can donate once per day and have it count as a unique donation). We can also win daily awards of $1,000 and $500 if we can get the most people to donate in any 24-hour period. The great thing about this Challenge is that it doesn’t matter how much you give, but instead how much you do to encourage friends and family to get involved in our cause. We all need to come together and start promoting the cause if we want to win.

Each of us has tons of friends on Facebook who we can ask to donate to our cause. But let’s think big too — can you throw a party and get people to donate through the cause when they arrive, can you organize other people to go out and fundraise from all of their friends? Post our Challenge link on your website, in your newsletter, at the bottom of your email signature – wherever and whatever you can do to encourage your network to support our cause. As you reach out to your friends be sure to tell them why this cause matters to you. The possibilities are endless so let’s talk about what we can do to win on the Wall of the cause or by replying to this bulletin.

Donate right now by going to
http://tinyurl.com/yjk36p6

Let’s win $50,000 to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home shelter dogs!

Thank You All!

Dear Readers I would like to share the following email with you. I am a representative of the wonderful company, Trilogy Pets -

Ten years ago, Trilogy International opened for business with a small staff, including Dr. Jane Bicks, offering just a few nutritional supplements and care products for companion animals. In those early days, Dr. Jane had time enough to answer all of the questions posed by Field Reps and customers, as well as stay informed about the latest nutritional research and formulate new products.

Fortunately for the Trilogy community, and thanks to years of hard work, we find ourselves in an entirely different situation. Now, we have an extensive line of pet products as well as people- and planet-oriented products. Soon after we opened our doors, we were processing a few thousand orders each month on behalf of our network of Field Reps. Today, we manage that volume every day … before breakfast.

Over the last ten years, Dr. Jane has carried the mantle of her numerous responsibilities with a work ethic that has earned the enduring respect not only of our staff but also her professional and industry peers, too. But, with tens of thousands of satisfied customers, Dr. Jane’s workload has grown to the point that one person – even someone as talented as Dr. Jane – cannot possibly manage it, even with the assistance of the home office’s staff. And now, with her additional work guiding the foundation that bears her name, something became abundantly clear … it was time to provide Dr. Jane some much needed help. And that brings us to the subject of today’s email.

We are greatly pleased to bring onboard our newest team member, Dr. Sarah Wooten, DVM.

Dr. Sarah will help us educate consumers about pet health as well as work with Dr. Jane on a number of other pet-related projects. In what follows, we present to you a brief bio detailing Dr. Sarah’s story. We believe that she will bring to Trilogy a new perspective on how to reach a broader audience, in order to help our valued Field Reps to sign up new customers and build healthy downlines.

With the addition of Dr. Sarah, Dr. Jane will be able to more fully dedicate her time and energy to formulating new products, researching advances in nutritional science and playing a stronger leadership role in the charitable efforts of the Dr. Jane’s HealthyPetNet Foundation.
Dr. Sarah – A Profile in Compassionate Service to Companion Animals

Sarah Wooten loves animals, great and small. From an early age, she felt a deep kinship with and profound love for all animals, thanks in part to growing up in a family that included dogs, cats, ducks, goats, horses … even peacocks!

As a teenager and after conversations with a local veterinarian, Sarah realized that her calling in life was to work with animals and she set a course to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Later, armed with an undergraduate degree in Biology from Wheaton College, she entered the doctoral program at the prestigious UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2002.

Fresh from veterinary school, Dr. Sarah kicked-off her career as a lead veterinarian at a large veterinary clinic. Almost two years later, she moved into another leadership role as Team Leader/Veterinarian at a veterinary hospital. In 2007, she worked part-time at a shelter, where she managed wellness of shelter pets, performed sterilization surgeries, conducted monthly vaccine clinics and wrote shelter health protocols.

When we asked Dr. Sarah what she loved the most about practicing veterinary medicine, she said, “helping families”. She said, “Seeing the look on a face of a pet parent when you save their dear companion’s life is an amazing experience.”

Dr. Sarah leads an active life in Colorado with her husband Aaron and their three children Riley, Aricin and Kael.

A Warm Welcome from Trilogy Headquarters

“I couldn’t be happier to have another veterinarian on staff, especially someone as caring and knowledgeable as Sarah. I’m confident that she will represent our company to the best of her abilities and talents. I truly believe that she will help us to further our mission of making better nutrition a daily reality for as many companion animals as we possibly can.”
Dr. Jane Bicks

“We have been incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Jane’s leadership, commitment and enthusiasm. And now, with Dr. Sarah’s help, I’m certain that we’ll be able to provide even more support to our expanding network of Field Reps and their customers.”
Lester Thornhill, Trilogy President and C.E.O.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Sarah to the Trilogy family!

Your active, fun loving Terrier needs training. Take advantage of the smart side of this little active package of a dog. An untrained terrier is not fun.

The westie is a small “package” of a dog with a giant’s personality, with an equally big global following worldwide. People want the dog as a pet, a show dog, an obedient competitor, or sometimes all of the above! Are you a westie owner with the aim of helping your westie achieve his very best? Well, prepare to be barraged with a wall of “mommy/daddy” concerns up to your neck!

Early in the morning, all west highland terriers are models of vigilance as they applies the best of their energies on some exciting looking object, furry critter, or sound. If nothing piques the breed’s curiosity, he will want to be part of the intriguing looking activity you are busy with. With his near-stubby tail as a handy handle in case he gets stuck in some vermin hole, and his erect ears always alert for anything strange, the westie is ever-ready to tackle any adventure!

The dog’s double coat also deserves mention. It is actually a good defense against the elements, and even from the claws and teeth of some retaliating furry he is after. Proper hand stripping can uncover the hard coat, and give the dog a neater appearance without having to pay to some expensive groomer. The adult’s coat still sheds somewhat. One positive note to the adult coat is that it does not have the usual oils, which means it is free from the usual “doggy” odor, and can be more easily cleaned of dirt.

The west highland white terrier can actually afford to postpone a bath for a few months, The reason behind this is that he will only need frequent brushing and the odd dry cleaning in order to be completely clean. This last procedure involves applying some corn starch into the coat. When the powder is brushed out, the soil is discarded too. The minimum grooming needed for a non-show westie is once every eight to twelve weeks. Otherwise, once a week or twice is needed for a show ring dog.

Those under the illusion that the westie is a lap dog are in for a surprise. The dog actually dislikes the cuddling! Many westies will start squirming in seconds after being held. While the breed truly likes to keep all family members within sight, he wants to do so from the vantage view of a corner of the room, or on top of some furniture, its head resting playfully on a level higher than the body. Nevertheless, exceptions for this exist on both sexes of the dog.

Is there a serious gardener at home? Keep in mind that for many westies or most of the other terrier breeds, the best “recreation” is to go digging and getting lost in the burrows and holes of some “quarry”.

To end, the westie may not be the best dog breed for you if you are out of the house for most of the day, or prefer a dog that is content warming the couch. West highland white terriers can get very attached to their humans, and are very prone to separation anxiety whenever they are away from you. Despite being an active terrier by tradition, they are not exercise-hungry, but they are prone to bored without proper west highland white terrier training, and without attention and human companionship.
