Arabella Vintac will not perform at the announced concert at "The Cave Rock Club" in Stockholm, Sweden this Saturday 16th January 2010. The reason of the cancellation was not specifically mentioned, according to their official website, the concert is cancelled due to tragic personal reasons.

They expect to hit the stage at another date, which will be announced later. Stay tuned for more updates.

Well this is not a fiction story, Megadeth member really did this, Dave Ellefson (former bass player founding member Megadeth) said he was proud to be part of a project. "I am proud to be playing songs that have been well crafted with a true message concerning the Spirit of Christmas.”

Chris Broderick the guitarist for US trash metal band Megadeth has issued an update about his new guitar. This fantastic guitar which includes a brand new Vic artwork on it has been produced by guitar manufacturer Ibanez.

First of all,if you haven`t read the first lesson, I highly suggest you do so. (enter link)

On this lesson I`ll be showing you various arpeggios, each one with its unique sound.hopefully you`ll find something you like and add it to your guitar playing.

Section 1: Diminished Arpeggios (Cause neo classical farts love it!)

Well if you`re familiar with the works of becker, friedman, moore, etc`, you know they just love to use those diminished runs.

The most common shapes of that kind are the 4 string shapes(shown above), which can be extended if you take the same thing 3 frets higher, and from there another 3 and so on.

Thats also a diminished run,on the lower strings.
Here`s a nice diminished arpeggio I've come up with, that covers all 6 strings:

Thats about it for this section. use those shapes to get an idea about the sound and tonality of diminished.

Section 2: Pentatonic Arpeggios (break out of the box)

Every guitarist knows the pentatonic scale and can play it "in boxes". The problem is that most guys are stuck in those boxes and can't really expand the pentatonic sound to more stuff.

Becker showed in the AIM clinic some pentatonic ideas, which are original and great. His advice is to change the order of notes in the scale. Meaning, if we`re playing in A pentatonic minor, the notes are: A,C,D,E,G. So if we play those 5 notes in any order, how much we want to, we`ll get a pentatonic tonality.

Here is a pentatonic arpeggio,which sounds really awesome.

You can check if you`d like to, you`ll see that all the notes in that arpeggio are from the A penta. Minor scale. Thats one idea that you can utilize to every penta. Minor key you want.

Next is another arpeggio, which is actually famous! This is the arpeggio used in the intro of becker`s "perptual burn".

This guy is A penta. Minor too! Becker just changed the order of the notes and got a great fresh sound, from an overly used scale.

Last idea for this section is actually playing the penta. Minor scale!
Well not exactly, we`ll play it by sweep picking.

Its pretty obvious, you got here the A penta. Minor scale, played in 3 different octaves. The key here is to make the arpeggio not sound like the same pattern repeated 3 times.

In order to do that, you`ll need to learn to sweep it, pick every string just once, meaning left hand is all legato. It might seem like an akward thing to sweep, but its possible and sounds great in my opinion!

Section 3: Weird Stuff.

The first weird arpeggio I`ll show is the Augmented. This one is rarely used, mostly because its so damn dissonant! Although you can hear it on cacophony`s "black cat" in the end of the chorus. Here is one shape that covers all 6 strings, you can derive from it smaller shapes. beware as it sounds very nasty!

I guess you can use it for some shocking breaks, or that kind of stuff.

The next (and last in this section) Arpeggio is the Whole-tone. As you can tell, its based on the whole tone scale. If you`re not familiar with this one, the formula is: 1-2-3-b5-b6-b7. Whole-tone gives you a modern-day classical sound.

Thats pretty dissonant isnt it? Thats what makes this section "weird"!

That concludes this lesson, I hope you learned something new and liked it. On my next lesson I`ll show you exotic arpeggios, some beautiful stuff that becker showed in some clinics he did back in the day.

Deep Purple The Real Highway Star For 40 Years.

British legendary band Deep Purple already exists for 40 Years and still rocking. What a great achievement. The band's popular songs like "Smoke On The Water" and "Highway Star" had been written and composed long time ago back in the 60's?/70's but still got high popularity and being listened by many of the younger generations.

Recent interview conducted by expressandstar.com reveals that Deep Purple didn't shows any sign to quit from the music industries, in fact I believe they never know the word of "retirement" in their life. Ian Gillan the frontman of Deep Purple for 40 years said they’ll be in full writing mode around February.

“I take that a bit badly,” Ian says. “I mean, we’ve always been doing this. Live music is what we do – make new songs that we include in the act every now and again.”

“No-one’s done any writing yet,” says Ian. “I’ve got about 50 songs in my library at the moment, but they’re not for Deep Purple.”

Rapture of the Deep was the band’s last studio album, released in November 2005, and fans have been hoping for something new in 2010.

Girl Went Missing After Attending Metallica Concert.

A 20 years old girl Morgan Dana Harrington was missing after attending Metallica Concert. She was last seen while attending concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA.

"Morgan has blonde hair and blue eyes, is 5'6", 120 lbs., and was wearing a black 'PANTERA' T-shirt, black skirt, and black boots. She was not carrying I.D. or a cell phone. Morgan was separated from her friends shortly before 9pm at the venue. Police have been searching the area since Monday.

"We encourage anyone who has any information regarding Morgan's disappearance to please come forward. Additionally, if you or anyone you know shot video footage or took photos of the concert or audience, please check to see if there is anyone in your photos who might resemble Morgan. In Megadeth forum section of the band's website, Dave Mustaine has commented the negative thought about people hating Megadeth.

"There has been a lot of talk about the possibility of a 'Big Four' tour [featuring METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX], and while I find the timing peculiar, the opportunity is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, because we all are really so very different now, and the chances of this happening are probably not going to come around again in the future; due to personal plans, new ventures, and the inevitable passing of torches to the next generation in each of our respective genres (or the sub-genres that were created).

"Our crew and the Japanese crew were keeping it just to our friends and the top acts. In fact, at one time we had me and Kerry King [SLAYER guitarist] talking, Dave Lombardo [SLAYER drummer] holding court with several people, Akira Takasaki [LOUDNESS] was hanging with Shawn [Drover; MEGADETH drummer], Glenn Tipton from JUDAS PRIEST, the guys from ANVIL, and lots of journos, photogs, and record company people all in my dressing room.

"Funny, it seems like Blabbermouth and Roadrunner USA are the only people who don't like me or MEGS anymore.

"Such a shame.

"I knew I shouldn't have done this. Why didn't I trust myself?

"I regret a lot of things in my life, but this is the most regrettable."

Akira Takasaki has joined Megadeth on stage to play "Symphony Of Destruction''. Akira Takasaki is a famous Japanese metaller and a current guitarist for Loudness. Loudness drummer Munetaka Higuchi has departed in November last year from cancer.

Sadly only an audio of the performance available, do inform if someone has a video footage of it.

Guns n’ Roses have revealed plans to bring Chinese Democracy to Canada. According to Rolling Stone.com, various Canadian Websites teased a huge announcement concerning Gn’R touring Canada. This tour will starts January 13th in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and stretches to the North until February 4th in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The earliest presale begins October 21st. General admission floor seats and reserved seats in the stands are available; prices range from $49.50 to $89.50 Canadian before service charges.

Alexi Laiho the frontman of Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM will be at Steve's Music Store to take part in a fan meet-and-greet on September 23 at 4:30 p.m.

Steve's Music Store is located at 51 Saint-Antoine West (Metro Place d'Armes) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. No photos or filming will be allowed. Fans must come early if they want to meet Alexi.
