Well, another Halloween is down, plus I have discovered that a friend of mine has decided to skip town and move to Indianapolis. No particular reason according to her, although I suspect it is because her family moved there a couple of years ago and she misses them. In any case she’s been making a valiant attempt at an Indianapolis Job Search before she goes, hoping she will have a job lined up before she gets there. I suppose that would be a good idea, considering she does have a daughter to support.

I’ve thought about getting out of Sioux City myself a few times, because the job market here is horrible, but you know, I’m hearing that even in places where “the job market is good” it really isn’t. Supposedly the reality is that there are 6 applicants to consider for every 1 job opening in any area. That’s really not cool. I know around here it is mostly either hospital jobs you need a degree in something to get, or it is a truck driver position, neither of which I am qualified for. LOL I’ll just keep looking I guess.

It’s Halloween! So of course, the first thing I think of is….. This is Halloween! The song! I happen to have TWO different copies of it, by TWO different artists. I adore this song, it makes me smile no matter what time of year I hear it.

Did you know that the #1 Halloween song is now This is Halloween from Nightmare Before Christmas? Thriller by Michael Jackson is #2. Surprisingly, while I would have picked “Living Dead Girl” by Rob Zombie, “Dragula” made the list. (The list was on AOL.com last night.)

So, do you have any plans for Halloween? Do you celebrate Halloween at all? I know there are some Christians who chose not to celebrate Halloween in any way. Being Wiccan, I am not holding any sort of ritual (living in a house of Christians is not conducive to that), but today is a major day for us, marking the day the dead walk among the living and being the Wiccan New Year.

I Can’t Stand The Rain

There are so many things I would rather do than listen to the rain coming down outside. It’s rained so much, that really, I can think of several things that would be better than listening to rain fall. Looking up term life insurance rates, playing on Facebook, taking a nap, sleeping, reading a book, watching a movie, cooking dinner. Those are just a few of the things I can think of that would be better than listening to the rain. But here I am, listening to the rain. Why? I have no idea. Maybe I just like to torture myself?
