Mass Effect 2 will Not Pamper You At All!

Yes You! No more being spoiled by BioWare for their next sequel ‘Mass Effect 2′. Mass Effect 2 producer Adrien Cho feel that games today are being too lenient to gamers, instead of challenging them with a higher level of difficulty.

Adrien Cho said to Videogamesdaily that:“Sometimes I think we’re pampering gamers too much,” he told us in an exclusive, one-on-one chatathon. “Just recently, a game like Demon Souls is fantastic because when you die, and you fail, it’s not because the game was cheap it’s usually because you didn’t do something properly.

“It goes back to that learning mechanism of “Well, I tried this – it didn’t work. I’m going to try something different.” And I think that’s going to be something in Mass Effect 2, we don’t want it to be a cakewalk, you want a challenge.

“I think gamers want a more sophisticated game, they don’t want a breezy game where you see all the cinematics and just put in your hours and play it through. So definitely there’s some serious consequences. Delicious consequences! You’ll have to play to find out.”

Hopefully, if you die once in Mass Effect 2 it will erase your data forcing you to start over. Now that is what I call ‘Tough Love’.

Playing Mario & Tetris will Serve Gamers Cocktails

A festival called ‘Roboexotica‘ is being held in Austria right now to let people from all over the world to gather and show off their robot creations. All the robots created have one main feature and that is ‘it’ can serve alcoholic drinks.

That’s right, these robots not only look kick ass but they serve you alcohol as well. What more can a geek ask for? Well for starters lets mix the video games genre into the mix as well.

A entrant by the name Kyle sent Kotaku two videos of his submission which is a modified game of Mario Bros. called ‘Adult Mario’ and Tetris. Both games are modified to let gamers actually play the game and while they play certain circumstances in the game will either light up the lights or mix some drinks.

Pretty damn cool except dying causes water to drop. Booo! Result of dying should lead to double the alcohol.

BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 will Come in 2-Discs

Mass Effect 2 has been reported that it will come in two discs since the game is just too large for the regular DVD format. BioWare must have put a lot of goodies into the game to need a second disc to hold the whole game.

This is good news of course except for Xbox 360 owners since they will need to use the dreadful disc swap method at some point in the game (probably during the best part). Community coordinator of BioWare Chris Priestly said:

“Even though there is a disc swap, it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay) and is done once,” Priestly wrote on the Mass Effect 2 forums. “You do not swap back and forth. 1 swap and then done.”

On the other hand, PC users will need the 2 discs to install the game of course no swapping needed. Is this a good thing? Depends on how you look at it. Mass Effect 2 will be released on January 26 for Xbox 360 and the PC.

Alien Vs. Predator is Banned From Australia Too

Sega’s upcoming sci-fi shooter ‘Alien Vs. Predator’ will join Left 4 Dead 2 in failing the approval of the OFLC classification board in Australia. The game failed because of too much violence is in the game.

Sega talk to Gamespot saying “Sega Australia can today confirm that the initial submission of Aliens vs Predator has been refused classification by the Classification Operations Board of Australia. We will continue to investigate all options available to us, including the possibility of appeal.”

In detail the OFLC report stated that “The game contains first-person perspective, close-up depictions of human characters being subjected to various types of violence, including explicit decapitation and dismemberment as well as locational damage such as stabbing through the chest, mouth, throat, or eyes,”

I wonder who is reviewing these games in Australia because somebody has to tell them that not all games are Hello Kitty Adventure style. So now Sega most likely have to either send in a no blood, gory, and all the good stuff version of the game.

The Saboteur DLC Unlocks Nudity

The new DLC for ‘The Saboteur’ titled ‘The Midnight Show’ contains more than just new features, it also has the option to unlock nidity in the game.

The Midnight Show contains new minigames, Parisian hiding spots, and of course the nudity option. The DLC itself is not huge update on any new features except the nudity option part (basically 5$ digi-porn).

The DLC will be included in new copies of the game or if you buy a used copy then you will probably need to buy the code for the DLC which is about 5$. The new copies will be released on December 8th for North America on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the PC.

Mortal Kombat is Not a Tounament in Johnny Cage Eyes

For a long time Mortal Kombat was suppose to be a tournament for fighters to prove their worth and save the world. However, Johnny Cage explains how Mortal Kombat is actually not a tournament at all.

Worst part about all this is that Johnny Cage was always the one with out any real powers in the MK universe (probably practiced the ball punching split move too much). The funny video was made by Collegehumor and it made a lot of sense when we play these fighting games.

Confirmed: Michael Jackson Indeed Worked on Sonic 3 Music

The long sought out rumors and conspiracies derived from the sound tracks of Sonic the Hedghog 3 has now finally been confirmed that it does indeed link to Michael Jackson.

In the latest issue of Black & White magazine (french publication about Michael Jackson), composer Brad Buxer confirmed that M.J. and him actually worked on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 soundtrack.

B&W: Can you clarify the rumor that Michael had in 1993 composed the music for Sonic 3 video game, for which you havel been credited?

Buxer: I’ve never played the game so I do not know what tracks on which Michael and I have worked the developers have kept, but we did compose music for the game. Michael called me at the time for help on this project, and that’s what I did.
And if he is not credited for composing the music, it’s because he was not happy with the result sound coming out of the console. At the time, game consoles did not allow an optimal sound reproduction, and Michael found it frustrating. He did not want to be associated with a product that devalued his music…

B&W: One of the surprising things in this soundtrack is that you can hear the chords from Stranger in Moscow, which is supposed to have been composed later…

Buxer: Yes, Michael and I had composed those chords for the game, and it has been used as base for Stranger in Moscow.

So after 15 years, the truth has finally been revealed.

World of Warcraft Beaten by a Taiwanese Gamer

A Taiwanese man had completely finished all the achievements Blizzard set out for players in the game to achieve, so technically he has beaten World of Warcraft. There are a total of 986 achievements listed out for World of Warcraft and the Taiwanese man named ‘Little Gray’ in the game had completed all 985 except for the upcoming achievement which is the ‘BB King’.

However, he found a way to get over 986 achievements by a glitch in the PVP achievement which awarded twice (I am sure he will finish the BBKing when it is out). During his course of beating the game he killed 390,895 creatures and finished 5,906 quests.

Just amazing how dedicated this guy was to the game, Blizzard has to award him something good for this.

BioWare Dragon Age: Orgins Battle of Ostagar Trailer

BioWare just released their trailer for ‘Battle of Ostagar‘, which will be the upcoming DLC for Dragon Age: Origins. The DLC will let gamers journey back to Ostagar so the Grey Wardens can take out the Darkspawn.

The DLC will be released end of this year and will run gamers 400 BioWare Points for PC users, 400 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360, and plain old $5 for PlayStation 3.

Konami Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Trailer

Konami released their final trailer for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories before the launch of the game. This trailer will also be the last time you will hear one of Akira Yamaoka’s themes for Silent Hill series since he just recently left the company.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will be released on the Nintendo Wii for December 8th.
