Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and feel bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready for 2012. I'm back in the studio this week after a visit to Sydney, Christmas celebrations and visitors to my little red house. Feels good.

The elves have been busy in the studio crocheting star ornaments. Made using vintage patterns, hemp and jute.

I'm hoping the elves will have finished this giant doily when I return tomorrow morning.

Corals and Prints in m(art), Brisbane

Last week I drove into Brisbane to deliver my prints, corals and greeting cards to m(art), the retail face of Craft Queensland. This has meant spending many hours crocheting and felting corals and printing linoprints. I've had the weekend to rest..... aaahhhh!!

The felting process...... friction, hot water and dishwashing liquid. Preferably done wearing pyjamas and accompanied by many cups of tea.

A young crochet prodigy

The crochet workshops went very well. It was a rewarding experience for me and I think my students were happy with the classes. I had two classes of 6 students with another 4-5 ladies on the waiting list. The next set of classes will start in 3 weeks.

This is my student Noah, a very enthusiastic and extremely fast learner. He's 13 years old. He came to visit me in the studio last week wearing one of his motifs pinned to his shirt and a basket full of crochet projects.

In front of a wonderful mural by the river wearing one of my crochet necklaces.

The last couple of months have been spent settling into the studio, setting up the crochet workshops and making things to sell at the different local markets. I just got word that my work will be going to Artisan, the retail shop of Craft Queensland in Brisbane.

Guess what these are...............
