Last month, I was in Kenya and got very severe food poisoning.

I collapsed in a city park and passed out for a short time.

A Kenyan woman I barely knew carried me to a nearby clinic and sat with me and translated what I said from English to Swahili.

My brother had been taken off his bus until my mom came.

After dropping me off at my aunt's, my mom learned that my brother had been depressed for a year and wrote an e-mail to a teacher telling of his plans to commit suicide.

Today was my 14th birthday.

It was also my mom's 3rd attempt to pass her driver's license renewal test.

I could tell she wasn't 100% confident.

At the end of her test, she parked in the 14th spot, remembering my birthday.

She passed.

My boyfriend's grandfather was in the holocaust.

He came to Canada and barely knew English.

He worked 80 hours a week and made $3.00/week.He gave $2.00 a week to his mother.

He is now 85, and owns his own business.He is very rich and very healthy.

I watched my brother be crowned Prom King.

The Queen was a girl confined to a wheelchair & couldn't speak or move alone.

He wheeled her to the dance floor & gently rocked her wheelchair back & forth in front of him so they could have dance.

The JOY on her face & my brother's heart will always GMH.

There is a girl at my school with a brain tumor and she can't walk.

She is 12 years old and has a book published about her journey with a brain tumor.

She still manages to come to school as many days as she can with a big smile on her face, even after everything she has been through.

I screamed out of fright because it was dragging me down, but a complete stranger dove to the ground and tore my foot free of the shoe before it could hurt me.

If it weren't for him, I might be in a wheelchair.

I'm still struggling with my self-confidence.

Today a very popular, pretty girl passed me at lunch.She noticed I wasn't eating much.

She sat next to me and told me I was beautiful, and offered me one of her cookies.

Her caring about a girl she never talked to GMH.
