Mura CMS (formerly Sava) has a very powerful set of features to create and edit content, to personalize content for different audiences, to edit and review content using workflow and administration tools, to schedule content, to create editorial permissions for different content contributor and manage unlimited drafts and versions of content, with one-click rollback. All these features are based on concept of 'Site Members' and 'Administrative Users' which both have such great flexilibility and a large set of options that maybe sometimes you can feel confused how and when use those options. In this article I want to clarify some basic concepts and differences between them.

What happens when ColdFusion receives an HTTP Request of a .CFM file or an invocation of CFC component (from within a CFM files or remote service)? How Coldfusion processes the requested template? How can I improve the performance of a Coldfusion application? Even if you, as experienced ColdFusion developer, write a clean and optimized ColdFusion code it is still possible to improve the performance of Colfusion applications especially during the compile and execution time, setting up some Coldfusion administration features as the Cache settings.

If you need to retrieve or delete e-mail messages from a POP mail server with Coldfusion you can use the CFPOP tag. Unfortunately by default, CFPOP does not support 'SSL' so if your mail server only supports 'ssl' connection (like Gmail does) seems to be a problem. Fortunately with the help of Java (because Coldfusion run on a J2EE server) and the SSLSocketFactory class you can solve the problem and open a SSL connection to your mail server. Just put the following code before the ordinary CFPOP to instanstiate the Java Class and use its method:

One of the most interesting features of the next version of ColdFusion 9 (such as hibernate, caching or clustering) seems will be the addition of ORM capabilities, i.e. the possibility to create a CFC with the needed details, and ColdFusion automatically will generate all of the 'hibernate' XML behind the scenes. In addition, ColdFusion will create the needed tables and columns from the 'cfproperty' values for a CFC.

With CFLOCATION you send back some HTTP headers telling your browser to request a different location. This is done with a 302 (Moved Temporarily) HTTP status code, and the location header.

A couple of weeks ago I posted some interesting links about the debate regarding the 'future of Coldfusion'. Peter Bell in his article "The future of ColdFusion - Part 4" point out some reasons why we 'CF developers' should be happy.

After months of evaluation of several Coldfusion frameworks I decided a couple of weeks ago to concentrate my efforts on ColdBox... I like to see that was a good choice according the Amcon analisys.

PyAMF (AMF for Python) provides Action Message Format support for Python that is compatible with the Flash Player. The Adobe Integrated Runtime and Flash Player use AMF to communicate between an application and a remote server. AMF is a binary format based loosely on the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). It is used primarily to exchange data between an Adobe Flash application and a database, using a Remote Procedure Call
