Today, I've found an issue trying to delete a file from a temporary folder after attaching it to a mail message. I was using the <cffile> with the action="delete" just after the <cfmail> tag, the file was deleted but the mail message was not sent!

If you need to retrieve or delete e-mail messages from a POP mail server with Coldfusion you can use the CFPOP tag. Unfortunately by default, CFPOP does not support 'SSL' so if your mail server only supports 'ssl' connection (like Gmail does) seems to be a problem. Fortunately with the help of Java (because Coldfusion run on a J2EE server) and the SSLSocketFactory class you can solve the problem and open a SSL connection to your mail server. Just put the following code before the ordinary CFPOP to instanstiate the Java Class and use its method:

One of the most interesting features of the next version of ColdFusion 9 (such as hibernate, caching or clustering) seems will be the addition of ORM capabilities, i.e. the possibility to create a CFC with the needed details, and ColdFusion automatically will generate all of the 'hibernate' XML behind the scenes. In addition, ColdFusion will create the needed tables and columns from the 'cfproperty' values for a CFC.
