Here is a list of 20 strategies I use before, during and after a teleseminar to enhance the experience for participants.  Each can be done in 10 minutes or less. Most involve the simple skill of copy-and-paste.

BEFORE

1. Create a poll. Set up a poll in your sidebar using WP-Poll plugin.
2. Add a “favorite” video link. Find a cool You Tube video related to the topic of your teleseminar. Copy and paste the URL as a link in your sidebar under a unique category.
3. Add a blog post link. Find a cool blog post related to the topic of your teleseminar. Copy and paste the URL as a link in your sidebar under a unique category.
4. Add an article link.  Find an article online relevant to the topic of your teleseminar. Copy and paste the URL as a link in your sidebar under a unique category.
5. Add your affiliate link to a free giveaway from your teleseminar.
6. Syndicate your show. Simply, copy and paste the HTML of your teleseminar broadcast. Put it in a post, on the sidebar, in the multimedia box (if it’s a Thesis theme … see example on this page), or even a separate page.
7. Add visual resources for your listeners. Put a .pdf or .doc copy of your action guide, handout, Power Point presentation, case study, or resource you plan to reference in your teleseminar. Where? As a link, in a post or on a separate page.
8. Add an image, something that enhances your story-telling. (Example: Asphalt Penny Story)
9. Include keywords for your teleseminar topic in your posts and pages to increase the search engine optimization of your teleseminar and repurposing after.
10. Have several systems of opt-in’s on your blog. For example, on this blog, there is a “Subscribe” button at the top (powered by Feedburner) and another type when you make a comment (powered by Action Comments plugin). These allow listeners to receive email reminders of upcoming teleseminars.

DURING

1. Syndicate. Your show can be shown on several blogs at the same time … simultaneously. This works for teleseminars and videos, like Ustream.tv.
2. Ask for comments. Ask people to comment on your blog during your call.
3. Microblog in real time. Use a Twitter hashtag, such as #TSNLive. A favorite platform to use is Tweet Chat.
4. Increase engagement.  Set it up so participants have an opportunity to ask questions in a variety of formats, as with Instant Teleseminar, Twitter and Facebook.
5. Hold a contest. Give something like an eBook (that costs you nothing) for listeners taking some sort of action, such as “following” someone on Twitter and then retweeting a message. (Example: Twitter Business Secrets)

AFTER

1. Syndicate. Copy and paste code of replays.
2. Repurpose the replay of your teleseminar on your membership site or on a sales page. Use PayPal or a shopping cart, like 1ShoppingCart, to sell your CD, digital MP3 or transcript of your call on your blog.
3. Add resources as a result of feedback from during or after your call. For example, in a recent teleseminar on fundraising using Facebook, the call facilitator agreed that a glossary of terms would be helpful and agreed to put it up within a week.
4. Answer questions not addressed on the teleseminar.
5. Add replay to a page and sequence. Add a link to the page in an autoresponder sequence, Twitter, and other social media sites. Use a service like Social Oomph to schedule your tweets in the future.

What strategies do you use before, during and after your teleseminars?

1. STEP 1 – Find a domain name. I recommend the “Domain Search” tab on the DomainTools.com site to find out if your domain is available.
2. STEP 2 – Register your domain name on a hosting server you trust; then install WordPress. I prefer Blue Host and its 24/7 customer service.
3. STEP 3 – Upload a theme in your hosting server that will increase your WordPress site’s search engine optimization (SEO). I suggest and use the Thesis theme for WordPress.
4. STEP 4 – Upload an easy-to-use membership site management system. I absolutely love the simplicity of Wish List Member.
