There has been an industry buzz going about for sometime now, as Tim Bajarin wirtes. There could be the possibility of a new big mobile OS to emerge. Which could beat the present mobiles OS like the Android, iOS , BlackBerry etc. The rumour is that Facebook is planning to come up with their own smartphone device , planned to be produced by HTC. Although the company have denied such an agenda. We at Geektech remain skeptical.

The new Facebook OS is rumoured to be a HTML based phone, which requires the device to be connected for a rich experience unlike the Android and iOS devices on whom connectivity is not the top priority. Although at first glance one would feel tha an HTML phone would be just a hazzle. But if you ask any app user, you will find out the that an app performs best when wireless. So an HTML based OS can actually dish out a much more rich user experince since it is connected and stunning display . Imagine the gaming experience on the device when it optimizes it self with nVIDIA’s GeForce Grid.

Although what we have said is all speculation, and one cannot really predict the outcome is Facebook actually does go ahead with such a move.

And finally its open for all! Microsoft has launched So.cl (pronounced “social”), a social ‘network’ that ran in beta and was tested by university students in 2011.

So.cl combines social networking and search, to help people find and share interesting web pages in the way students do when they work together.

So.cl helps you create rich posts, by assembling montages of visual web content.

To encourage interaction and collaboration, So.cl provides rich media sharing, and real time sharing of videos via “video parties.”

Microsoft hope to encourage students to reimagine how our everyday communication and learning tools can be improved, by researching, learning and sharing in their everyday lives.

The So.cl search experience is powered by Bing; it uses the public Bing APIs to display search result data. As students work together, they often look for the same content, and discover new shared interests by sharing results. These results can be web pages, images, or videos found through Bing. Microsoft see’s this trend today on many social networks, such as Twitter, where shared links spread virally and amplify popular content. So.cl experiments with this concept by letting you easily share links as you search.

Students spend time sharing videos. So.cl extends this concept by making it easy to share video parties, with So.cl friends who are online. Video parties let you search, and quickly assemble a list of movies to view together with friends. You can view any existing party collection created by any other So.cl user, or create your own, and easily chat with other So.cl users.

So what are you waiting for? Go and explore So.cl now!

Here is the message by Anonymous hackers:

Hello, Citizens of India and the world.

We are anonymous.

The Department Of Telecom has ordered all Internet Service providers in India to block access to all file sharing websites, legal or illegal.

We cannot let any censorship happen.
This is just like what the high court in the UK have done, ordering to block all access to ThePirateBay.

We will not let this go.

We are anonymous.
We are legion.
United as one.
Divided by zero.
Ideas are bulletproof.
Expect revolution, Expect us!

Operation India, Engaged.
