You asked to what I was doing, and I was happily doing my business until you came in…wait.

Anyways, I have come back from the dreary depths of gaming addiction and going through random manga to keep me alive. Thus, random things were requested and random things you shall get.

After the various The World God Only Knows gaming mode phases I went through, like the FPS phase (Team Fortress 2, S4 League, Counterstrike Source), RTS phases (Red Alert 3, Tiberium Wars, Starcraft [fml, starcraft...what was I smoking]), a mid-midlife crisis phase (even I don’t know what I was high on as a You-Gay? Oh! rage suddenly broke out in our school) as well as a random Touhou phase.

All of the above failed for many reasons…mostly that my friends computers’ were too old to play them/never bought ‘em. Also that the fact that the game sucked the life out of you to actually become good at the game. I’m looking at you, Starcraft. My fingers cringe when I remember trying to micromanage. Ugh.

One decent memory was flying around, dashing around, slicing down other players with my friends in S4 League. Almost reminds me of Gunz before the k-style rage. Ah, good times. Did I mention making human homeruns like so?

Still waiting for arcade mode to come out.

Meanwhile, I fell back into the circle of random MMORPGs…and stumbled across the money sucker whichsome may call “Mabinogi”. I forgot Nexon completely fails after every update and tests my patience, always.

Every single item ingame requires an insane amount of cash or ingame money to actually have decent fun in the game. First of all, you run FREAKISHLY slow…which means a pet is needed to go faster. A pet…horse? Or you can choose to fly via means of the extinct species of dodo birds! (it looks like one.)

Nonetheless, once you actually have some money to spend, my friends and I had quite a good time paralleling the equal amount of frustration we treasured as our memories.

Of course, all things must come to an end, and that is when common sense comes a-tingling and just gets tired from all that grinding.

Then I came when Ace Attorney Investigations came out. Always a fan of the Ace Attorney series, always will be. 2 days of grinding and done. The game was great. Loved the soundtrack as well (Agent Lang/Detective Badd’s themes are badass.)

I ended up taking a liking to the Objection theme as well, as with all the other games. I’ll miss Kay/Edgeworth/Phoenix and have to deal with stupid Apollo now.

I ended up rereading random manga until I read the recent releasegasm of The World God Only Knows manga. WTF Yui arc. The bodyswap plot trick again…

so wrong…so right…so confusing.

I’m on edge on wondering what happens next. Most likely Yui/Keima will switch bodies back and either of them forgets…and Keima goes back into game mode.

NOT SO FAST!

P.S. I see formspring has gotten some hype as well. Going through Twitter and Formspring…they should just merge the two.

All I can say about this season is that it’s not sparking any motivation for creative posts, since my friends have finally upgraded their computers and we are now in the deep spiral of marathon gaming online. Playing MMORPGS and FPSes with friends can be just too addicting. So, “brb”.

….Or the eve of 2010 if you’re around my timezones. Wishing all of you a happy new year since I exhausted myself stalking everyone at Christmas.

…There once was a little girl who had every possible toy in the world.

Her mother would buy her toys and gifts every Christmas.
Their father had passed away, leaving the mother to be very busy.
Every Christmas, she would leave only the gifts behind, and head off to a gathering, event, or meeting.
The girl was sad and was never truly happy.
Thus, the girl never smiled, believing that she would find the one perfect gift.
One day, her school had a Christmas play which she pleaded her mother to attend, yet she had a business trip to attend.
Nonetheless, she reserved a seat for her mother, in hopes that she would come to see her, even when she never seemed to show up before.
The day of the play came and the play started. Sadly, the seat remained empty.
But, at the final scene of the play, her mother miraculously came in, as her meeting had been canceled, and sat down in the seat reserved for her by her daughter.
At the end of the play, she applauded with the rest of the crowd.
In an instant the daughter came running down the stage and jumped into the arms of her mother, bursting in tears.
Concerned, she asked her daughter, “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
“No,” her daughter replied, “I finally found my perfect gift,” she said.
“And what would that be?”, her mother asked?

“You.” her daughter said, with the brightest smile slowly blossoming from her lips.

So, I hope that you would have a great Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and holiday in general to all of you.

Celebrate with some Christmas carols, spend some quality time with your family, or just sit down on that comfy couch and watch your favorite episode of anime to end the year.

Tis’ the time of giving, happiness, and joy.

On that note, I’d also like to wish Nagisa a very Merry Christmas and a happy birthday.

You should be familiar with the show she’s from, Clannad, which makes the top of my anime moments list. Clannad was truly a great anime of this year. Although I was reluctant to watch it at first, it got me driven into the romance theme and was a unique anime of its own. It was beautifully animated, had some wonderful characters, and a story that we can relate to, and cry to. It brought us tears, it brought us laughter, and it brought us memories. I don’t regret a single second spent watching Clannad.

Thus ends my 12 Moments series.

So I wish that you would have a great day and make some memories of your own.

the day I lost all sense/sanity of Umineko – when “I’ll have your head on a platter” was taken literally

I need to revisit Umineko one day when I can actually piece this together. Until then, this was one of the first horror anime which I watched, liked…but then got lost completely. Maybe I need to try Higurashi. For now, enjoy a tako Maria on a plate.

For today, I recommend a multitude of blogs, both fail and win. You should know about the OEG already, a group of people who banhammer/approve blogs for their “otakuness”. (Note: Level of seriousness to be taken seriously may vary for person to person.) Here you can visit different blogs to see for yourself how unique/worthy of approving they are or mocking them since they are worthy of fail (<—- guess which blog it’s referring to ^^).

Damn it Haruhi S2 was shit horrible. Maybe Disappearance will be somewhat better.

+1 scarred memories

Remember the good times…everyone did K-ON!, so I’ll throw it out too. Good times.

First of all, don’t take this anime seriously in the slightest. I know I did to some extent (epic music playing DO WANT), but if you do you’ll be very disappointed. However, if you watch this just for fun as a light hearted series, you’ll very much enjoy it. Some pretty good songs were in there, even though there were no epic practicing of the instruments that produced them. The only bad side is that you’ll be hearing Yui’s voice actress everywhere now…she’s so recognizable. Do pick this up if you’re bored or need a little pick-me-up series on your down days, it’s worth it.
