The Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) along with our partner Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) of Auburn Gresham & Englewood is hosting a FREE Foreclosure Prevention Workshop every Thursday through September 2009.

Learn what you can do to prevent foreclosure and information on refinancing your adjustable rate mortgage (ARM). Also ask about our free gift if you complete the workshop.

$10,000 World Sport Scholarship

Are you a high school junior? Do you live and attend school in Chicago? Have you play an Olympic or Paralympic sport for two seasons in the last three years? If so, the World Sport Chicago Scholarship is for you!!!

Who is Eligible?

High School Juniors
Students must live in Chicago and attend a Chicago school or be homeschooled in Chicago
Maintain a C average or higher
Participate in an Olympic/Paralympic sport for two seasons in the last three years

Awards

56 Chicago high juniors will become WSC Scholars and receive: 1) Kaplan ACT Tutoring and 2) Chicago Scholars mentoring
WSC Scholars will also be eligible for one of 16 renewable college scholarships worth up $10,000 annually ($40,000 total)

Deadline for applications is November 30, 2009.

In partnership with the St. Sabina Employment Resource Center (ERC) and the Center for Economic Progress (CEP), the Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) would you like to volunteer for the 2010 tax season? We would love to see you in Auburn Gresham! Volunteer registration for the 2010 tax season is now available on the Center for Economic Progress website.

Please note that we are offering online certification again for tax preparers this year. If you choose to certify using our online system, you do not need to register for a certification class. You must still attend What’s New?
