First thing that you’ll notice about Mac Pro is its design. New Mac Pro looks like a cylindrical tube, and it’s one-eighth the size of its predecessor. Regarding the hardware, new Mac Pro will use 12-core, 256-bit Intel Xeon E5 processor with 1,866MHz DDR3 RAM capable of 60GB/s data transmission. In addition, Mac Pro will use PCIe-based flash storage, and it will come with four USB 3.0 and six Lightning 2.0 ports. Additional specs include HDMI-out 1.4, dual gigabit Ethernet jacks, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3.5mm audio in and out ports. In addition, new Mac Pro comes with dual AMD FirePro GPUs as standard.

OS X Mavericks comes with several new features, and one of these features is the Finder Tabs that allows you to work in Finder with multiple windows, allowing you to draw windows together in tabs. In addition, tagging has been added as well, so you can easily tag documents in order to search them a lot easier than before.

OS X Mavericks comes with support for multiple displays, and when using multiple displays you’ll get Menubar and dock on both displays. We have to mention that if you’re using HDTV with Apple TV, you can use HDTV as a secondary display as well.

Another new feature is iCloud Keychain that stores all of your passwords in the cloud. iCloud Keychain can remember your passwords, and only thing that users will have to remember is their own security code. Notification system has been enhanced as well, and now you can replay straight to email, FaceTime and message notifications.

In addition, iOS push notification alerts from apps will be displayed on your Mac, as well on the lockscreen. There’s also a feature that will automatically update apps in the background. In addition, new calendar and Maps for OS X have been introduced, and users can now push directions from OS X Maps to their iPhones. iBooks for Mac has been introduced as well, and now the full iBook library from your iOS will be available on your Mac as well.

New PlayStation looks like a PlayStation 2 a bit, and it comes with upgradable 500GB hard drive. As for the games, PlayStation 4 won’t have any restrictions when it comes to PS4 games, so you can easily sell your games or lend them to a friend.

In addition, in order to play games, you won’t have to sign in to PSN, so you can play your favorite games even if you don’t have internet connection. As for the multiplayer, in order to play games online, you’ll need PlayStation Plus subscription that costs $50 a year.

Sony PlayStation 4 has some advantages over its competitor, Xbox One, and as for the price, PlayStation 4 is priced at $399, so it’s $100 cheaper than Xbox One, but unlike Xbox One, PlayStation 4 doesn’t have Kinect and TV features.

As you know, Xbox One comes with new design and Kinect 2.0, and regarding the hardware specs, Xbox One uses x64 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU, USB 3.0 ports, 500GB hard drive and 8GB DDR3 RAM. As for the additional specs, there are 802.11n Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct and Blu-ray drive.

We also have to mention that Xbox One comes with HDMI out, but it also uses HDMI-in, so you can use Xbox One during your TV-watching sessions. In addition, we have to point out that Xbox One comes with Kinect 2.0, and you can use your voice and hand gestures to easily control your Xbox One, or to watch TV.

As for the new Kinect, it’s a lot faster when it comes to detecting motion, and it comes with a camera that has 60 percent bigger field of view. One of the major concerns about Xbox One was the always online requirement, but luckily, you only have to log in to Xbox Live at least once a day in order to play.

Xbox One sounds great, and we should see it available for sale in November with the price of $US499/£429/AUD$599.

Regarding the compatibility, this battery pack is fully compatible with Apple’s iOS devices, Android phones and tablets. You can recharge Eton BoostTurbine 2000 by plugging it into a wall outlet, but if you need some emergency power, you can always use the hand crank. After spending some time with the tablet, here’s our quick review on what we thought of the new upcoming low cost tablet.

Design

With prices starting from £149, Acer has launched the Iconia A1 up against rivals such as the Nexus 7, Asus Fonepad and Galaxy Note 8.0 with a highly competitive price tag. Yet for this money, at first glance, there is little compromise. While you do get quite hard, scratchy silver plastics along the sides and white cover round the back of the tablet, the Iconia A1 has an overall rigid construction that inspires confidence.

Unfortunately, the Iconia A1 is 10.5mm thick and 400g in weight, despite its small form factor, it feels heavy to hold and is not what we would describe as sleek. Certainly after using it with one hand for awhile, we really felt the weight of it and started to hold it with both hands which made it less noticeable.

On the left side of the Iconia, there are no slots or ports. On the right edge there’s a microSD memory card slot and a microHDMI video output. These, and the pinhole mic that sits between them, are laid out clearly but without much passion for design.

Features

The Acer Iconia A1 features LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory.

The Iconia A1′s screen won’t be the best you’ve seen in similar devices. While you’ll be fine doing majority of daily tasks like internet browsing, social networking with twitter and facebook, colours don’t particularly stand out and could be more lively.

Acer has chosen to use an IPS display, the same type used on most high-end tablets. However, it’s a good deal less advanced than the best used by its Korean branded rivals. When off, or displaying dark images, there’s a greyish quality to the A1’s blacks. This likely means the different layers of the screen have not been merged together as some more premium devices would. The resolution of the Iconia A1s’ screen is also under-par at 1,024 x 768 pixel which is substantially less than what Apple nowadays refers to as retina on their latest devices. Having said that, the IPS does offer the advantage of having very good wide viewing angles compared to other similarly priced budget tablets.

We really liked the fact that Acer did not try to tamper with the stock Android Jelly Bean OS (4.2.2) as they have done in the past. This means combined with Quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM, Acer has left it for the users’ discretion as to how they want to customise the Iconia A1 right from the start. Without any overlying custom UI, the tablet runs smoothly with very little lag while performing majority of tasks and less demanding games / apps. However, because Acer has opted to use a less powerful version of the PowerVR SGX 544 graphics chip (same but more powerful in the S4), signs of some strain does become apparent with high end, more demanding applications and games.

For a budget tablet, you also get a 5-megapixel camera on its rear, and a basic front facing VGA sensor, don’t expect much though as not even the rear camera has flash and boasts only a fixed focus lens.

For those who take their devices on daily commutes, The Acer Iconia A1 has a rather small 3,250mAh battery, which is low and translates to roughly seven hours play time, in comparison, the Nexus 7 has a 4,325mAh unit and the iPad mini a 4,490 mAh battery.

Conclusion

Comparisons will inevitably be made with the iPad mini and its 7.9″ Android rivals as highlighted above, and while Apple may win when it comes to design aesthetic and build quality, Acer have got them boxed in the corner when it comes to included features and expandability. The Acer Iconia A1′s screen isn’t great, it’s heavy compared to others and some of the most challenging games are a little too much for the MTK quad-core processor. However, Acer seems to be trying to make a tablet that can do it all, be it not the best at it, the Iconia A1 in a sense does everything in its own way at a very affordable price, if you’re on the look out for an entry level Android tablet that’s abit different at minimal cost the Iconia A1 should be a worthy candidate for your consideration.

Pros:

Afforable price tag

Excellent range of connectivity options

Models with 3G soon available

Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2

Great for productivity apps and some less demanding gaming apps

Cons:

Hard, uninspiring plastic touches

Heavier than comparable rivals

Spec may seem top-notch at first glance but much are of entry-level variant due to pricing, meaning compromises needs to be taken into consideration

WhistleCase is a special case for your iPhone, and unlike other cases on the market, this one comes with a whistle attachment at the top. As for the design, we have to admit that WhistleCase looks well-designed and sleek. This case looks interesting, and you can use it during sports events, or if you’re in danger. Besides sleek design and built-in whistle, this case doesn’t have much to offer, but if you want to turn your iPhone into a whistle, or for some reason you need to carry a whistle in your pocket, WhistleCase for iPhone will be great for you.

WhistleCase sounds interesting, and although we have no information regarding the compatibility, we know that this case is available in variety of colors for $30.

Silicon Power has launched a new model called Touch T825, and this model is designed as paperclip. This USB flash drive comes with bevel-shaped end with a hidden clip, so you can easily attach it to your documents and folders, if you wish so.

In addition, this USB flash drive comes with stainless steel unibody housing with a metallic shine, and thanks to the Chip on Board (COB) technology, this flash drive can resist water, dust, shock and vibration. T825 comes with cap-less design, and the 360-degree swivel design that protects the USB connector. As for the storage, there are 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models available.

Silicon Power Touch T825 looks great, and it will be useful if you want to carry your USB flash drive along with your documents. Only flaw is that this flash drive uses USB 2.0 for file transfer. Sadly, we have no information regarding the price or availability.

foundIT comes from Scosche, and it’s a wireless item locator that can be attached to almost anything. This device has 100 feet range, and you’ll get an alert each time foundIT leaves the predefined range. foundIT is compatible with iPhone 4S/5 iPad 3/4 and iPad mini, and in order to use it, you’ll need to download dedicated app from the App Store. After downloading the app, you just need to pair your iOS device with foundIT, and you’ll get loud alert or a notification when foundIT leaves the predefined range. In addition, there’s a GPS snapshot feature, so you can see where your vehicle is parked.
