StarTech has announced its new device called portable USB flash duplicator, and this device is designed so it can duplicate up to two USB 2.0 devices at once with a single press of a button. In addition to copying USB drives, this device can also delete them according to the US Department of Defense standards, so you can easily and permanently delete your sensitive data. In addition to the USB flash drives, portable USB flash duplicator is also compatible with hard drives, SD, SDHC, microSD, MMC, Mini SD, and CF memory cards thanks to the card readers and USB 2.0 enclosures. Additional features include integrated LCD display and LED indicators that inform you about the status of the current operation.

StarTech portable USB flash duplicator is an interesting device, and its only flaw is the lack of USB 3.0 compatibility. As for the price, this device costs $212.

Connecting your USB devices to your MacBook can be a bit of a problem due to cables, but luckily for you, today we have ZenDock that will keep your workspace nice and clean. ZenDock combines all of your ports into a single aluminum block so you can easily attach all your USB devices simply by plugging ZenDock to your MacBook. ZenDock Pro is designed to work with MacBook Pros, and it supports gigabit Ethernet, FireWire, Mini DisplayPort, 3 x USB 3.0 ports, along with audio input and output. ZenDock Retina model supports Mini DisplayPort, 3 x USB 3.0 ports, audio in and out ports, along with a Thunderbolt passthrough connection. Both ZenDock Pro and ZenDock Retina feature a slot for the MagSafe power cable.

ZenDock is currently a Kickstarter project, but it has reached its funding, so we’re expecting you’ll be able to purchase your own soon for $139.

Autodesk engineer, Evan Atherton has made 3D printed speakers as a part of his design exercise. These sphere-like speakers come with LumiGeek-powered LEDs, so we have to admit that they look amazing. As for the sound quality, and sound output power, we have no information what type of speakers did Evan Atherton use. Nevertheless, we have to give credit to Evan, since he has created something amazing, and it took him about 60 hours to create these speakers.

These 3D speakers are amazing, but they are just a concept idea that has been turned into reality by Evan Atherton, so you won’t be able to purchase them. However, you can create your own set of 3D printed speakers but you’ll need a lot of printing material, time, money and patience.

LinkMe smart bracelet comes with a LED band and it’s designed to display scrolling lines of text. This bracelet pairs with your smartphone via Bluetooth, and it can display text messages, or social media status updates, so you won’t have to take your phone out of the pocket each time you want to check your Facebook or Twitter. In addition, LinkMe can also display current time, if you’re not interested in social media status updates. We have to notice that LinkMe bracelet comes with smooth and minimalistic design, and it’s made from chrome, so it will look great on you, unlike a bulky wristwatch.

LinkMe smart bracelet looks great, but it lacks the functionality of a smartwatch, so if you want something minimalistic and elegant, LinkMe might be perfect for you. As for availability, LinkMe smart bracelet is just a Kickstarter project, but it can be yours for $99 if it achieves its funding goal.

EIZO has announced two new models DuraVision FDS1702N and DuraVision FDS1702NT, and both of these monitors connect to PC via Ethernet LAN or WiFi. Since these monitors connect via LAN cable, you can easily place them at any location, no matter how far from your computer, but if you want to keep your workspace nice and tidy, you can always connect those monitors via WiFi. Both of these models support WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T LAN standards, and both of them have USB ports, so you can easily connect your mouse or keyboard, or any other USB device to it. Both of these 17-inch network monitors use 1280×1024 native resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, and both of them are using dual 0.5-watt speakers. We have to point out that FDS1702NT comes with resistive touchscreen panel, so you can use it with your bare hands or a stylus pen.

DuraVision FDS1702N and DuraVision FDS1702NT sound great, and if you don’t want to use them as a network monitors, they both have D-sub VGA input connector on the back, just like regular monitors. Sadly, we have no information regarding the availability or pricing.

Google spokesperson mentioned in an interview that they are considering paid subscriptions for YouTube from which content creators on YouTube could benefit from, and now, according to the Financial Times’ report, it seems that YouTube paid subscription service could be launched as early as this week. According to this report, about 50 YouTube channels are expected to use this new subscription service at launch, but our guess is that number of paid channel will increase over time. As for the price, the subscription fee starts at $1.99 per month. As for Google, they already confirmed that they are looking into the paid subscription service, so we’re guessing it’s only the matter of time when we’ll see those paid channels.

YouTube paid channels will be beneficial to the YouTube content creators, but the question remains how many average users are willing to pay a monthly fee to watch their favorite channels.
