Granted, I would love to try and sing something by Utada Hikaru! She’s wonderful.

Anyway! Hope everyone’s week went alright! Mine was crazy busy, got very little done outside of comic work for here. Also, its my birthday on Sunday. Yay? I’ll be older than I am right now in about 2 days! Crazy, huh? D:

Also, go see Despicable Me! You won’t regret it! Dreamworks movies are just getting really good. And if you get that Best Buy “Movie Mode” app, you need to download and start it before you get to the movie, it has to sync up with the very beginning of the show, otherwise it doesn’t work. I found that out the hard way.

Note that the lights were off for about half a second. My family is like this, well, my sisters (and mom) at least. Even if nothing’s wrong, if the power goes out or the lights flash, there’s an instant chorus of screams from around the house. But only for the time while the lights are out. So if they flicker on and off, so does the shouting. Its almost like someone’s conducting them with a light switch. Any ideas what might be happening this time around? Anyway, I hope everyone’s weekend went well! Mine was about average, lol. I hope to see you all Wednesday with another Wednesday Update!

Whew finally have enough time to sit down and write it out.

First off, I’d like to say that it was a lot of fun! Possibly more fun than the first year I went? I dunno! I’d say yes though, because I was less shy and felt more…Natural I guess? The first year was the very first time I’d flown anywhere by myself, much less to just go hang out with friends somewhere. This time around it wasn’t nearly as much as a hassle.

Staying with my friend LJ and his friends was fun too! When we were walking around at the Expo we were hanging out at his friend’s apartment, either playing games or watching something goofy on TV (Pingu! ). Also, I’m tired of Denny’s breakfasts. XD But they were the cheapest things on the menu, lol.

I got to meet more famous people this time around too! I met Kyle Hebert multiple times, and got his signature too! For those who don’t know, he was the English voice of Kamina in Gurren Lagann, and he’s done voice acting for quite a few things, including Ryu in Street Fighter IV. He was seriously just walking around the Exhibitor’s hall like anyone else, it was awesome. XD I also got to meet Steve Blum! Now he’s awesome, and his voice is so easily recognizeable. He played Spike from Cowboy Bebop, and Roger Smith from Big O! I think its funny that he -always- sounds like that too. That’s like his normal voice. XD I got a poster signed by him, he wrote “Finally we meet!” on it, it was awesome.

I also took like 20 pictures of him while we were gettting things signed. XD It was great.

Gosh, so much happened, I’ll just list some things:
-Eating pocky

-Meeting LittleKuriboh (I’m gonna upload a clip of his voice acting on Youtube soon!)

-Watching Swedish children’s TV shows until 2 in the morning
-I’m still the master at Tetris. :\
-Taking embarrassing pictures by accident (and then getting teased about them)
-Giant hamburgers! And eating two of them and wondering why I thought that was a good idea
-GURREN LAGANN. Nuff said.
-Having my heart broken by a Simon jacket that was actually in my size.
-I can find anything. Its a proven fact. Just so long as -I- didn’t lose it anyway.
-Love and peace!
-Eureka 7 movie (giant black Domo doll!)

Oh, that’s right! I also met LittleKuriboh, of Yugioh: The Abridged Series fame! And had him do a bit of voice acting for me. XD Video ahoy!

Man, he was great. XD And he could switch between all the voices so easily too, I was thoroughly impressed. Marik and Bakura are still my favorites though! Tristan’s pretty high up there too, lol.

Next up was something that happened on a bus ride from a hotel! They had buses that ferried people all over the place, and they were much better to take because you wouldn’t be walking in the BURNING HOT SUN looking for a HOTEL in the WRONG PLACE! Geez LJ.

People just randomly burst into song! And I had no idea the zoom on my camera made that much noise. XD

Anyway! I’ll try to get the, uh…318 pictures I took? Yeah. I’ll try to sort through those still and get some of them posted up somewhere for you all to see!

It was a fun trip, but its good to be back.

Ack! I will do this in color when I get home from work! And a proper update post too. XD

Its a little known fact that I can find basically anything. Lost hat, wallet, keys, purse, glasses…It doesn’t matter, I can find it given a bit of time. And no, I’m not saying this because of what happened on my recent trip to Anime Expo (more on that later). I do this everyday, because my family is extremely…Absent minded. Let’s go with that.

How about all of you? Have you ever had trouble losing things? Or finding things in places you didn’t expect them to be?

Anime Expo was a lot of fun! Full report on Monday!

Anyway, I think when I barely have enough time for an update, I’ll try to do one of these profiles on one of my characters.

Kyle was actually the first anthro cartoonish character I’ve ever drawn, even before FW! Like FW he started out quite differently, but he’s evolved into a ravenous, over-confident and at times annoying wolf. For some reason I still have a soft spot for him though, and his antics, while seemingly selfish serve to include everyone around him; notice how he’s brightened up to Mouse already? I think a lot of people miss that part, and just see him as a greedy jerk.

Not saying he isn’t totally like that, but… ;P

Another odd fact about him is his clothing, as noted in the sketches above. He either wears sleeves, or he doesn’t. No one’s sure exactly why. The summer banner for last year had a picture of him and FW eating ice cream, and he didn’t have sleeves in that one. I really should put up a collection of prior banners somewhere. :\

Note to self: When I read this when I get back, I should totally delegate some time to doing that.

Anyway! Here’s Breakfast Bunny again, finally coming up with a brilliant plan to get back at that annoying yet strangely blue wolf! Unfortunately, he’s still on “Finding Fowo” duty, so he’s not around. And hey, you can’t let a breakfast sammich go to waste like that, right?

Okay! Late late update I know. XP

I had an idea for doing character profiles for while I was gone, which would just be sketches of various characters, along with some information about them. This is the first of those, featuring FW of course!

This is a character that’s evolved quite a bit since I first came up with him. He’s got a personality all his own, and its fun to think of how he’d react to situations and other people around him. He’s shy and awkward at times (especially around those he really likes, like Bee) and especially when meeting new people, but once you get to know him he’s nothing but silliness and smiles. His look has slowly changed over time too, and for the better I think. As you can see in the middle of the picture there, I was trying to list most of his defining features…And realized that he’s got quite a lot, and they all add in together to make FW, well, FW! From his glasses to his one floppy ear when facing to the side, to his large nose and collar and cheek fluff, and I almost forgot his bangs! There’s a lot that goes into drawing him, but I have so much fun doing it I don’t even mind.

Something I never seem to mention is how most of my characters represent a part of my personality. FW here would have to represent the happy, playful side I think. And also the worrying. Wow I worry a lot, lol.

Next up on Friday we should have a guest comic! Then Monday again with another character profile I think!

Really! Its been what, 3 months?

Huzzah, a new comic! And we see how Bee and the others are doing! Well, most of them anyway…Who knows what Damien and Hugh are up to. This raises a few questions though:

1. Where are these boxes from? D:
2. Just where the heck is Forest anyway?
3. And how does Bee know where that place is?

Mysteries! I should add that tag to the tag list for this post, lol.

In any case, have you ever had trouble remembering something? And then the most random thing seemed to remind you of it? Even if it had nothing at all to do with what you were trying to think of at the time. That happens to me all of the time, but its more of a “cascading logic” type of situation. For example:

Friend: “Over the weekend, we took a ride on the dinner train, it was a really nice tri-”
Me: “Oh, that reminds me! I need to get a new door handle.”
Friend: “…Wha?”

See, for me, the logic goes like this:

Train > Has many wheels! > What else has wheels? > My car! > Oh, wait, the driver’s side door handle got scratched up by my dad when he was moving something > Handle? Oh, right, the handle on the door of my room is busted!

And there we go.

Technically they’re not happening quite yet, but still…

First off! I realize I missed another update. I could say its because of work/home life/stress levels, or a combination of all three really. I know I need to pull things together to keep the comic running, but really I’m just tired. I run the site myself and color and ink and come up with the ideas for things, and I’ve barely had time to think lately. It at least feels that way anyway. I think its pretty obvious that this upcoming vacation is a good thing for me. XP Regardless, I’m still going to try my best in the meantime to keep things running.

That being said, I’m still accepting guest comics for the week that I’m gone! I leave on the 30th.

Finally, and probably most importantly, I’m going to be taking down the forums. Not at the moment, and not until I get back from my trip, but I am not happy with their current set up. I’d like for them to be more integrated into the site, more user friendly, and a number of other things. So, I’m going to ask that everyone that wants to save something from the forum please do so before the 7th. I’m 90% sure I’m using a different setup for them, so the current posts and such won’t be transferable to the new setup.

That’s July 7th, the forums will be taken down for maintenance.

Everyone got that? Okay. And please, no freaking out about it, I promise it’ll be for the best.

Hope everyone had a great week! Mine was busy as usual, lol. This does remind me though, how -do- they come up with the sounds for things in sound studios? Especially for cartoons? If something is happening on-screen that could never happen in real life, how would you even start to figure out what the sound for that would be?

With that said though, have you known anyone with a comical/strange name before? I actually can’t recall if I have or not…I have met people with names that are fun to say in any case! I think that should count.

Anyway, I hope everyone’s weekend went alright! And I highly recommend seeing the new A-Team movie! I had a blast watching it, though its not what most would consider “intelligent cinema” by any means…Everyone in the theater was laughing for most of it.

Alrighty! I really wanted to do an actual comic page for this week, but forces beyond my control (i.e. work) prevented me from doing so! So I did a quick picture at least.

Its Forest, done in a sort of “subbed anime screenshot” type of image, having run into a bit of trouble with a few Heartless. Mouse is probably off-screen somewhere and who knows where Zal is. D:

Man, what a crazy week… XP Getting home at 10 PM is not fun, lol.

Anyway, I -do- still have an update for you all! Here’s a comic submission that I made for the Califur conbook! Though I don’t attend any conventions or anything (Anime Expo doesn’t count!), I was asked to make something for it. I used one of their ideas for a story about a convention trip, so I went with FW and the gang all heading off to one! Or, uh, 4. They coudn’t just settle on one.

Speaking of conventions though! I will be attending Anime Expo again this year, if anyone remembers when I was gone two years ago! I’m looking forward to it, but I also realize it’d cut into my comics here quite a bit (okay, two updates maybe). That being said, I’ll go ahead and ask for guest comics!

That’s right, anyone who wants to submit a comic for the week I’ll be gone is more than welcome to! I’d prefer it had to do with the comic here, so involving FW, Kyle or someone would be a plus. Just send the comic, to fwadventures@gmail.com to be considered for a spot. If I get enough I may even post up one a day while I’m gone! And by me I mean Mouse of course.

A few notes about the comics:

• Must be no more than 760 pixels wide
• Can be PNG, JPEG, or GIF
• Must be related to the comic in some way
• PG rating at the most

I think that covers all of that…

Also! In case you didn’t notice, there’s a new image up on the KH website as well! Its the same that was used for the voting image, but now you can go comment on it and everything!
